New set up great , doorman fantastic. . But the drinks not so good if you complain and manager does not want to investigate . Bad .. no longer a customer x 23 people in party . .. 3 x grey goose not so good and he refused to investigate complaint ?!!!! We left drinks and then caused a fuss with door man .. you need sacking for not investigating knob manager .. !!!

We did all three pubs next to eachother absolutely packed to the rafters. So get there by 3 if u want a seat. Drinks reasonable all ages catered for.. good fun!

we always call in when out and about in liverpool usually Saturday afternoon, we used to love watching George Gallaher followed by Marc Leslie, they would do a song together it was great. The line up has changed, George is on early afternoon when the place is quite, its a shame as he would have the place rocking, Marc is on later about 8 pm, the other acts in-between are still good, but the interaction between marc and George was great.

Avoid if you are a women and not in heels. Entry is at the disretion of the antiquated and out of touch male staff. On the eveing of the 25th of October myself and friend were refused entry to the venue in Liverpool by the doorman. It was about 8pm. He was unnecessarily loud and rude and shouted. The reason he gave for refusing entry was that we had “trainers” on and that they were not suitable wear for a "cocktail bar". I had a pair of designer leather casual shoes costing £120 on. My friend wore similar. We both had smart clothes on. We are both in our late 50s and professional women. Whilst being shouted at by the doorman I noticed a male customer leaving the bar with a pair of sketchers on. I have concluded that males apparantly can wear trainers. I would think that males in heels would be frowned on however that would be another discriminatory issue. I am wondering what is the dress code? I’ve looked on the website and could see no detail. Also no notice was displayed. I have written to the company but unsuprisingly had no reply or explanation. We were keen to try the venue as it has been recommended by a friend. I can report that the treatment by the doorman was upsetting and we were left quite shaken. I’d be keen to hear from Ruby Blues on this matter.

Visited with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. The bar was pretty quiet but it still took absolutely ages to get served. There was a cocktail menu on the wall but every cocktail I asked for they didn’t have! I only found three they actually had which I thought was pretty poor. The pornstar martini was lovely but the strawberry daiquiri tasted of apple and didn’t taste alcoholic at all, the drinks were disappointing. On the upside the live singer was entertaining and the staff very pleasant.

Although there are stairs next to it to take you up to the Cotton Club. The Cotton Club is like an extension of a British legion with reasonable priced drinks. !!!! If you go in early in the week and purchase a loyalty card for a pound. For whatever reason a few of the young bar staff saw fit to photograph or video me dancing???... for their own amusement, and then laughed about it openly at the bar. Totally disrespectful and upsetting particularly as I have just completed 5 years of treatment and surgery for breast cancer and just want to go out and enjoy myself. Shame on them.

We ate here on a Saturday afternoon after seeing that they served tapas. The service was great, very friendly and the tapas came out really quick. The tapas were a mixed bag with the chicken and mushroom pancake and the deep fried rice filled balls both being really nice. We also ordered skewered prawns in garlic and liver pate and both were poor, the garlic prawns were rubbery and the chorizo was awful. the liver pate was served in a jam jar which made it hard to get out especially after scooping the fat of the top and the bread was hard too. We ordered trifle and brownies for desert and the trifle was the best that I've ever had, so fresh and tasty and the brownies were good too. All in the meal came to £27 with a coke and a latte, good value for what we got.

I am sad to report that I had a very poor experience here on Saturday night. I had contacted Ruby Blues 3 weeks prior to me attending and spoke with a David Fishel. Initially I was informed that there was a no booking policy however following me explaining that I am attending with 18 people who are on a works event and I did not want to run the risk of arriving and there being nowhere for us to sit, David assured me that he had spoken to someone by the name of Maureen, who apparently owns Ruby Blues and he advised me that Maureen had agreed to reserve us the seats. I did offer to pay a deposit and also to pre-order the food but this was declined. We arrived at 6pm on Saturday. When we got there it was very busy, I spoke with a manager (not David Fishel) who told me that there was no booking policy and that he wasn’t aware that we had been booked in, he then stated that he only found out the day before that we were coming and stated that we would have to be seated upstairs. If he was aware on the Friday that we were coming, why was area upstairs not already prepared. We waited 50 minutes to be seated upstairs. When we got upstairs it was clear that there was going to be no entertainment provided which is not how Ruby Blues is advertised. The manager did eventually put some music on at our request. 15 minutes passed, I went to the bar to ask if we could have some menus, I was advised that we would have to go downstairs to book the food. I informed him that it is unrealistic to expect 18 people to go downstairs to order their food, another 10 minutes had passed before someone eventually came upstairs to take our orders, somehow in the process missing 3 people out who did have to go downstairs to place their order.

Visited Ruby Blues 15th Nov hoping to enjoy the music of the Swamp Dog Millionaires. The website had advertised them from 9.30 and the band were there ready to go. The club totally ripped them off saying they should have been on at nine, it was the clubs fault and they refused to pay the band. They brought another band down from the empty Cotton club upstairs, think they had messed up and didn't want to pay both acts. Should be ashamed, ruined our night. Needless to say we won't be back!

We love our music and love to find quirky places where you can enjoy yourself with nice music and atmosphere. We have been here twice now and enjoyed it each time. Though Friday 13 November was a bit special. We arrived after 6 and stayed until after 10 but had the best night. We laughed at the antics of some of the people who worked there but espeically the two characters who worked the door. The lady couldnt keep still for dancing, then the guy who worked the door actually got up and sang. Brilliant...talk about having the best team in Liverpool working the door. We joked with them on the way out that they had enjoyed their work far too much and they were laughing all night.

On the point of singers it appears that they have a resident singer every night of the week (a different one each time I have been). If I had one gripe it would be that it is too loud to talk but that aside it is not a bad place to pitch up to when looking for a place to drink.

We found this new venue to the Liverpool nightlife scene while out on a pub crawl around Liverpool on a Thursday night and what a wonderful find.

What a wonderful find. Had a great night here. Food is great, drinks are reasonably priced and the entertainment both downstairs in Ruby Blues and upstairs in Cotton club was great. Will definitely be back soon.

It's nice to find somewhere a bit different from your run of the mill pubs. This place has a jazz/blues feel with good live singers and nice decor. Attentive and smartly dressed staff, a good selection of drinks and reasonably priced. Very promising - I just hope that it is just as good in 6 months time and hasn't deteriorated like so many new pubs do after the first few months, Well worth a visit.

When walking towards Lime Street train station we came across this great Jazz Club and Restaurant located in an area full of good pubs and bars.Ruby Blues Restaurant and Cotton Club has only recently opened we went here as we like to look at any new bars or pubs that have opened up recently and with this establishment we were not disappointed.Went here late afternoon and we were greeted by very friendly staff we ordered our beers a couple of pints of bitter at a price quite acceptable considering the establishment we were in.Very ornate in here but not snobby with a great bar and bar area plus good seating. When here there was a singer on who was excellent doing covers of Frank Sinatra's songs. The Cotton Club is located upstairs as we only stayed for one drink i cannot comment on that part of the establishment but if it is as good as downstairs this place will do well in this area of Liverpool City centre.Located on Great Charlotte street next door to Wetherspoons Sir Richard John blackler's.

A little different place in Liverpool. I love both the mersey sound from the 60s and a karaoke night at the pub, but it can be nice to sit down an relax with a beer or a dring and listen to some other music as well. A really great female singer made our night rememberable, and it was a relaxed atmosphere with happy people and smiling people giving good service. We welcome this new place, and nest time wi might visit the jazz clup ustairs too.

We discovered this new restaurant the other night, after walking past the door! To our pleasant surprise, it was a new jazz venue, right in the heart of Liverpool, with a club upstairs and a restaurant downstairs. The staff were very attentive, and the music was live, both upstairs and downstairs. The venue is delightfully decorated and not too 'fussy'. Definitely recommended for a laid-back night out.

We ordered a giant cookie on the second of feb to be collected on the 17th feb giving plenty time for it to be made. The day before pick up I ran the branch and asked about the cookie to which the lady rudely replied she hadn’t got an order and that there was lots of staff so it had gone missing, she didn’t even think to ask what was my order and instead told me to ring back at 4:30pm as she was extremely busy. As this cookie was for an event I didn’t want to risk not getting it and with the employee not really listening and being rude on the phone I went down to speak to her to my Surprise (not) she was not busy instead on her phone with her headphones in I spoke about the issue with the missing order and showed her my receipt to which she replied (I believe you) well I’m glad she did as she took my order on the 2nd. She never apologised or even acknowledges her mistake instead was extremely rude. I’m sure this isn’t the time of person Millie’s wants as the front for there business because I will not be going back and I’m sure others will feel the same if they have to deal with the same rudeness and inconvenience.

My girlfriend asked for a medium strawberry acai with lemonade but no ice and the drink cost £5.60 already for this price you could expect them to fill the cup, instead served a small cup half full, i asked if they could fill it up with lemonade as every other starbucks has done. I had to ask for a refund as i wasnt paying £5.60 for a half drink, we sat down to enjoy some time together and we overheard us them attempt to whisper about me asking for a refund by one staff member to the other and i found this to rude, when all i asked was a simple request. Any other starbucks or even staff have been much more accommodating. Wont be returning and ask people to go to the other starbucks in town centre.
