Delicious food. Very good portion sizes and waited on with warm & genuine attention and service. Just lacked some background music that would help the ambience. Would definitely return.

This is a reasonable Indian, in a place far from anything else, in a Pub too. The food is basically good, but the pickle tray was jammy, high in sugars. One dish was too oily/ghee. Very friendly staff, helpful.

The servers were rude and made us move tables even though the restaurant was completely empty. The food left a lot to be desired. Terrible!

I would not recommend this place for people looking for Indian food. We ordered Dal ( yellow lentils) - it was just water no taste at all, reminded me of my hostel days when dal is made with water; ordered Matar paneer - both ingredients were not fresh and could be taken for dessert in terms of sweetness; only dish was ok to taste was aloo saag and papad. Hence my recommendation would be not to visit this restaurant atleast for vegetarian options or any Indian food. Have shared this feedback directly with the restaurant as well.

Been here before & returned for what we thought would be good again but really really disappointed ! Seated in area away from bar to right it was definitely cold & when the food arrived we found it tepid the mains & the rice , the paratha was very poor we should have returned it … there was no alcohol free beer … why ? We won’t be back poor all round , we’ll the naan bread was the best but not worth eating out here at all !

Best Indian food I’ve eaten in a while, open until late (we ate at 8:30, everywhere else they stopped serving food at 7/8), personnel very kind and friendly

The type of place where a coke will set you back GBP 3.5 for 200ml coming from a 2L pet bottle. Price range shown is actually incorrect, you will easily spend upwards of GBP 40 for a starter, a couple of drinks and a main with rice and bread. I first thought my server was rude, I then realised he barely spoke any English and had misguided me through the questions I posed. Kingussie tourist trap, stay away.

Newly opened so a bit quiet but food was good

Lovely food. Poor service, waited 50 mins for food (only ordered main, not starter) no apology. Soft drinks way overpriced. We were sat next to very noisy people who were shouting not talking, and swearing. Staff should have dealt with this. Seemed to be prioritising takeaway over sit ins - wrong way around. Wish we hadn’t bothered.

Well just tried out our new Indian for the first time and was not disappointed at all. The service was excellent, very polite and attentive. The food was AMAZING, has to be one of the best Indians we have ever had. Will definitely be going back again and again that’s for sure.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und wollten noch schnell zu Abend essen. Unser Kellner Kaja war überaus freundlich, höflich, zuvorkommend und sehr unterhaltsam. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt u d das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt.

Ottimo cibo, sia i main courses che il riso, con garlic bread e tandoori roti per spazzolare i piatti, tutto ottimo e saporito. Servizio un po' lento a causa del locale pieno. Ottimo per una cena di gruppo per i prezzi abbordabili.

Hands down the best curry I’ve ever had. Separate note - I’m vegetarian and although they had lots of veg options - I asked for a veg version of one of their meat dishes and they were more than happy to accommodate me and were so wonderful about it. Staff were amazing and made our last night in Kingussie a good one

Second visit. First time around excellent in all respects. Second time not that great an experience. Food was really good with the exception of the fish pakora; lots of batter very little fish. Service was appallingly slow and haphazard people who both ordered after and others arriving after being served before us. No real attempt to keep us updated or apology. Heard those served before us remark that you wouldn't need to be in a hurry. Not that I was but definitely dismayed by the tardiness this time.

Overjoyed that Kingussie has a new restaurant. The owner is delightful and despite difficult circumstances in general (eg staff shortage in the hospitality industry) they are open 7 days a week. They offer the usual menu with many choices and my first take away experience was truly top notch! Not only will I return for more, I have no hesitation to send The Viewmount's guests to dine with Hossan and his team.

Searched a place to eat while travelling. Opening hours said 11am. Arrived at noon to find out it doesn’t open until 2pm. The sign outside also says they aren’t serving food at the moment. Complete waste of time. Expected better

Visiting at 4 o'clock on a Thursday afternoon was a quiet time, it was empty when we went in and unfortunately nobody else came in during the half hour my wife and I were there. I'm sure it would be different in the evenings with much more atmosphere.

Think the owners may have given up. Poor drinks selection Sticky floor Sticky tables 5 drunks at the bar Thankfully it's not far to Newtonmore where theres some nice pubs

Unfreundlich und angeblich gibt es dort (18 Uhr da gewesen) nichts mehr zu essen obwohl es aussen ansteht! Am Tisch bleibt man kleben! 1 Stern ist dafür schon einer zu Viel: Aber die Option null Sterne gibt es ja leider nicht!

Great food for an absolutely reasonable price, we had to wait a bit because we had no reservation but waiting was worth every single minute. Staff was very friendly. Those people know what they are doing. Hope to be able to come back one day!

Es gibt nicht viel Auswahl in diesem Ort, aber man kann ohne bedenken hier essen gehen. Auf der Speisekarte findet jeder etwas. Leider hatten sie einige speisen nicht mehr deswegen der Stern Abzug. Sonst war alles in Ordnung

Good pub food and ales, beer garden a welcome relaxation area.

My wife is a big Outlander fan and she was geeked about going here. Awesome castle. The staff were really friendly too, they talked to my wife about the Outlander filming. Walking around the castle we were trying to picture the different scenes from the show.

Catered to a large group for a hen weekend. All the food came out promptly (we pre-ordered), the serving sizes were very generous and the food was delicious. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

Came across this pub while driving through Kingussie. And spotted this pub and because my name was Laird also decided to go in and see what it was like. Ordered x2 pints of coke which were flat, let the barmaid know and her reply was well I must be out of Gas. Do you want another drink had to have cans instead. Bar made looked like she could not be bothered. Ordered food aswell. Was absolutely lovely! Steak & ale Pie was gorgeous! Attached pictures of menu. Would give a 7/10 would of been lower but food saved them.

Not many pubs to pick from in Kingussie, but the Tipsy Laird came up trumps. Good ale, pleasant staff, relaxed environment.

Fabulous food but service is a bit slow

Give this place a wide berth and travel the 10 minutes to the next pub. Service is beyond useless! Tables are left uncleared / cleaned while waitstaff is too busy socialising with their local mates at the bar to even grasp that multiple potential customers entered and left due to zero acknowledgement of their existence. In addition, my order was placed, then forgotten, re-requested, to be served an hour + later. The only reason for the two stars, is that the meal was halfway edible.

Il locale è un caratteristico pub . Il personale è gentile ma purtroppo il cibo non è dei migliori. La zuppa del giorno è pessima, fatta con concentrato di pomodoro della peggior specie. Il salmone é passabile, e comunque coperto da una salsa che potevano evitare di mettere. La verdura che lo accompagna é immangiabile, tranne le patate. Birra passabile. Tutto sommato non più di 2 stelle su 5 ad essere buoni. Di sicuro non ci torneremo

Let down by poor customer service and cook, also reseated several times after waiting several minute's at the bar to be even acknowledged. Sent a "well done" (expensive) steak we asked to be cooked medium/rare to have back a medium/well done version with less mushrooms etc on plate, gave up by then as my food was getting cold....Lovely interior and great place to visit for a pint, once acknowledged that is!

Stopped here for a much appreciated drink. Great service. The staff brought bowls of water out for the dogs so everyone got to quench their thirst.
