Lovely pub. Great decor. Pool table at the far end, and a good selection of beers and ales to choose from. Whenever I have had food here it's been fantastic with large portions.

Me and the Mrs. had a couple of pre drinks before going for a curry. Very spacious. Friendly staff. As people were leaving, they were cleaning the tables down. Had a couple of Guiness. Very nice. Did not eat there, so cannot comment.

Not the greatest experience on a cold Friday afternoon. Took almost 20 minutes for three soft drinks to be served and one coffee (instant from a jar the only option available).

Friendly welcome, hearty pub food in generous portions and well kept cask beer. We had an enjoyable lunchtime & will be back.

I've been going to this pub for many years and it always friendly and the service is decent. The food is very limited these days which is a shame. A pub like this you'd expect some decent pub grub.

A man and his son who was willing to buy drinks on a wet sunday afternoon, just so they could play a bit of pool, turned away because son was 14, no wonder there was nobody in there joke wont go back

Rather unwelcoming, seemed like a nice pub to grab a refreshing bevvie with my pal, but the reception I was greeted with was colder than the expensive beers we had to hurriedly down before the atmosphere got any worse

I'm not a regular but whenever me and my family visit we are always made to feel welcome by the owner and staff

Well where to start. Living locally and knowing alot of people in the area I was utterly shocked and disgusted by this pub on my second visit there. What was a long day at work and thought I would go down to the local pub to have a drink chat and relax with family. As soon as I arrived I was welcomed by quite vile disgusting looks from two of the woman behind the bar. To then be told after just buying a couple of rounds that it was tickets only so we said ok could we buy tickets. For her to say no regulars only. In other words, time to go! Being with my 60 year old mum and her partner and my partner and me. I was generally shocked. Had they thought we was trouble makers, fair enough. But to behave like that towards new customers I would not be surprised if they loose the business. Well done! Officially the most un welcoming, rudest pub in the village! Unless you want to be put in a very unpleasant situation I suggest you do not step foot in this place.

Came here for a retirement drink. Its basically one big room bland and doesn't feel like a pub. Wouldn't come back out of choice

A nice looking pub, garden wasnt open but sadly I felt so unwelcomed by staff and it was my birthday too, not even a smile from the barlady or any conversation or offers, both myself and my friend were so disappointed as this is my local and first time popping in but it will definitely be my last.

Great local with superbly kept real ales. Fair prices , live sports , no idiots and basic pub grub which comes on huge portions. Plenty of friendly staff ensured no waiting.

First time in years that I've been here and the decor is much more open and brighter. Sat in the garden which was very pleasant with flowers and trees. Visited with friend who used to work with me at this pub 25 years ago. It was a walk down memory lane 🙂

Newly renovated and cute. Sports and pool for the boys. Cumfy seats and gin menu for the ladies. Jukebox and the best chips and curry sauce I have ever had!

Quite a rarity in this day, to find a pub where the staff won't smile or look a customer in the eye when you order a drink (and seemingly leave you waiting endlessly to be served) but the Royal Standard have staff that have mastered this skill in spades. Went there to see a friend's band play and was made to feel decidedly unwelcome. I only hope the locals are treated better.

Newly refurbished, new floors, paintwotk and seating. A good pub is now much brighter and even better. Nice quiet garden at the back too.
