Royal Quays Brewers Fayre in North Tyneside

Carvery was disgusting it was smash out of a packed, frozen veg, frozen Yorkshires rotten stuffing balls that looked to have been deep fried. Kids chicken pops were the size of a pea. Worst meal out ever, definitely avoid

Great place to eat before catching a ferry. The barman/waiter was excellent. I didn't catch his name, but it was Wednesday afternoon on the 19th March.

Pre booked however there was no table reserved. Ordered the smothered chicken and came with no coleslaw or salad as mentioned on the menu. Having to go to the bar to order in a very long queue due to only one person being on for food and drink was ridiculous. Will never visit this place again!

Excellent place to go with the family!

Basic softplay but can keep kids entertained for a while. Foods quite good on the carvery, rest is microwave/ oven ready frozen food style but a few good items. Good value. Refillable coke and coffee.

Really nice stop before boarding our boat to Amsterdam. We had a meal which was satisfactory. The staff were nice and we felt welcome. They do an amazing IPA beer in a can but excellent.

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door. The food and service is 2nd to none.

Not one to leave a review and not sure of what to say I felt abit uncomfortable when walking in to breakfast with the Mrs and two kids he asked if everyone was eating I then stated it was just me and the kids eating so then paid and then the gentleman proceeded to unnecessarily say we are strict with the breakfast if you are caught eating you’ll have to pay (I get it’s his job but I’ve been here before but that part has never been stated to us I feel it was said in a cautious way like he thought that’s what we were doing) not really a complaint as food and staff are usually spot on but I don’t think things like that shouldn’t be said on arrival especially after already stating that it was me and the two kids eating and not my partner . Other than that the food is great and we will be returning

Breakfast good and plenty to choose from, downside was yet again coffee machine was broken.

Popped in for a quick lunch before heading out to Amsterdam for the weekend, lovely staff friendly welcoming and really genuinely seemed to enjoy helping and serving, makes such a lovely change nowadays. 30 min for 2 basic burgers and a kids meal. Over £36 too. Burgers were dry and were worse than a savers McDonald's, coleslaw was bland, no flavour and fries were greasy. Kids fish goujons meal, only 3 tiny goujons but 2 sides to make up for it. A regular Coke was over £3 my wife's wine was slightly more than a coke!, kids drink separate £2.30! The place was messy, high chairs dirty, no kids cutlery offered and of course the kids plate was nuclear hot (not advised), nothing cheap on the menu really, second time there and I didn't pay the first time thankfully. Doubt I'll be back.

Lovely visit, very helpful in terms of local knowledge of area, then returned later for evening meal with great food, special thanks to Jason, james and jess for making our wkend away special X

Very well. Hospitality a 10 Friendly and fish and chips also the burgers are very high standard.Very very good team and nice location. We mist the ferry and here the helpt out with there hospitality for myn group of 30 persons. first a drink. Thanks to the great men! Jason. James and Kerian

Visited for Sunday lunch today omg I couldn't call the guy cutting the meat a chef it was a skill to cut wafer thin meat I said is that it reply was yes 3 slices yes 3 full slices which he could not calve I was gob smacked good thing the veg was OK but learn by experience and we won't be back. I informed one of the staff on the way out that man cutting the meat is a joke hence no reply.

Stopped for a snack before we got Amsterdam ferry. Staff were very friendly and super helpful. Food was OK.

Went for breakfast after staying at the premier inn Sharon the Elf was brilliant with our 5 year old and good soft play for the kids

Sunday lunch is normally very nice, but this Sunday was excellent, could taste every veg ,very good 👍

Server Sharron was very friendly quick to sort the one small issue we had . Steak was cooked perfectly and Sunday dinner was nice with the cauliflower cheese the star of the dinner and a 25 percent voucher off our next visit

Just finished lunch. Carvery was delicious, hot and lots of choice. Staff friendly and welcoming. Stuffed now and heading home for a nap. 😂😂

Such a nice place tae eat and have a quiet drink. Very clean and tidy, toilets are kept clean. The staff are the stars here and nothing is too much effort as tae say.

Was cold inside food wasnt very warm, small portions for what you pay

Had a lovely time there on Sunday, the carvery is great and they have a soft play and playground outside, perfect for family with kids, definitely will go back ;)

Great work from the staff running about the restaurant floor, meals were out quick and pipng hot, tables cleared fast and cleaned. Bar que was a bit if a wait to order. Usual brewer fayre menu but one of the better ones for a while. Thanks

All the buffet breakfast food was luke warm & it was only 8am (sausages, bacon, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns)..all breakfasts should be piping hot at any time of the day. The choc o pain & crossaints were not fresh. DIRTY CUTLERY 😞 The plus side was that the service was excellent & all the staff were very friendly and polite...oh nice fresh hot coffee!!

Female blonde Server was rude, dismissive and had a face every time we tried to talk to her. Trying to get 2 fruit shoots and a que of 3 people infront taking 15 minutes to get through. 2 children’s ice creams taking longer than the full tables main meal and getting rude looks when questioned about progress on order. All for a 19th birthday and couldn’t have had a worse experience. Manager needs to look at who they have staffed at this establishment

We had a lovely evening having a few drinks and snacks. Then at 8.50pm we are told that it's last orders at the bar, ????? Early??? If this is the case you should change your advertised hours on Google. It would have been nice to have a couple more drinks.

Food is reasonably priced, good friendly service. Not many vegetarian choices.

It's the cleanest Brewers Fayre than I've been eating. The play area is free and smaller than others. Our order was quickly served and cleaned when we finished with.

I’d like to give a huge shout out to name tag “shazza” this person, took my order which wasn’t an easy one, not as fluent on the till but didn’t let that stand in the way of making me feel welcome, we come here often, James and the guys here always provide memorable service But today I wanna say thank you to shazza for all the effort, see you soon.

Had an amazing time in Newcastle stayed at the premier inn. There is lots for the kids adults can relax. The staff go above and beyond we had robin and Jason on staff there and they could have done enough for us from being funny with the kids to cooking eggy bread for my son as he didn't like anything 🙄. Can't wait for next year 😁

Great place for kids for the soft play and outside park, food bog standard nothing special, staff were great especially being in the holidays too

Great place for a meal deal, good pint of stella served, the chap behind the bar with beard and black glasses, might be a manager, is funny and witty, is meant to be in this industry.

Very busy. Lot's of screaming kids, unfortunately. Large, spacious restaurant and bar. Plenty of free parking.

Stopped in the premier inn next door and had the meal deal included. I was a bit dubious as the beefeater chains are a lot better, and i am not the biggest fan of brewers fayre. However, it was better than most I have been to. I suppose it's just luck off the draw who's cooking. The mixed grill was pretty good, and the breakfast the next day was also. Only negatives were the coffee machine wasn't working and had a fault on it. This was attempted to be fixed by the staff unfortunately unsuccessfully.

It's like any other Brewers. Not great, not bad just OK

Took my girls for lunch. Brought them here for the park and soft play so they didn't get bored whilst waiting for food. Food was nice, decent sizes. Friendly staff and was pretty quiet. Was perfect for us due to sensory overloads normally.

We go every Fri or Sat with our grandchildren 3 Yr 5 9 on Saturday 27th July the kids are playing and a scotish group of kids turned up staying at the hotel. Bless him the man in charge had to shut down the playarea due to blood from child . Well these kids the language was horrendous and we left , but more help for the staff as they did their best but more staff was needed .Apart from that the staff great

One of several Premier Inn / Brewers Fayre places we have used and was by far the best. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, tables cleared of dirty crockery etc as soon as you finished your meal. Breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday was of a high standard, although no black pudding and the haddock on Wednesday night, special at £7.99, was fresh with crispy batter. Will certainly use again when back up in the Nort East.

Let's be honest. You eat at a brewers fayre because you're staying in the premier Inn next door. It's probably late and you're hungry. The food is ok. The beer choices are ok. It's not going to win any awards

James is amazing and a credit to the team! Don’t diss how busy the place gets the service more than makes up for any wait

Special deal, was a bit quiet but food, prices and service good

The batter on the fish was soggy with no taste at all, would say worst I have had. The bun on the kids burger was solid. The lasagne was just a bowl of cheese. Had to wait over an hour for dessert after asking twice. The staff look like they don't want to be there and just huff and puff if you ask anything.

Had the lasagne worst av tasted in my life was nothing but a bowl full melted cheese around a spoons worth of mince won't ever be eating their again pricey for microwaved food

Disappointed with kids play area

We often come for breakfast after dropping our daughter off at school. Graham and the team are lovely, friendly and always welcoming, it's a very relaxed environment which is just what we need after a tough night with our neurodivergent child. The breakfast has so much choice we are never disappointed £22 for 2 adults and 1 child you really can not complain. Highly reccomend.

Unfortunately the food was okay, we have ate there at least twice before and. It was very nice, hopefully a blip by the chef, the staff preferred to stand talking rather than serving drinks or taking orders. It's a shame we enjoyed our previous visits.

It got a bit rowdy and full but we still had a lot of fun 😀

Looking old and feeling old. Ladies toilets, one of the seats was cracked. Ordered a sharing platter, but it was deep fried to a crisp.

Lovely park to walk your dog just before you sail on the boat to Ijmuiden... or if you just arrive by boat from Ijmuiden...

Did a walk in which was nice. Got a new menu item - chicken fajita burger. Very nice but didn't appear to have any fajita seasoning on it. The chilli side was delicious. The other half really enjoyed his cheese and onion pie.

Pub not bad, staff terrible, would have given no stars but wouldn't let me.

A great place to visit , very popular too, although it is starting to look very tired nowadays and in need of a total refit. A fabulous range of food and drinks.

Good food but the coffee was not nearly hot enough. Had to get mine heated in the microwave. Staff obliging though and friendly.

Place seemed clean plenty of space staff were fine seemed very short staffed and rushing around trying to dodge kids getting in their way running playing with the drinks despenser and ice machine. the food was a huge let down, Kids mash had skin on it clearly thrown in the microwave before came out no gravy and vegie sausage for whatever reason. Adults burger had a weird flavour and the starter was fried bits but could break teeth. Feel sorry for the staff being rushed from pilar to post.

Great atmosphere staff are lovely. Jason was very sweet and accommodating for us. Overall lovely experience.

Went on good Friday, walked in was told there was no tables for a couple of hours..... went outside booked a table for 10 mins later...... ordered food which wasn't the best chips were far too hard.... kids pizzas were too dry.... the only positive is the soft play

Visited on Mother's day for the Sunday Carvery as a party of 6. There was an issue with our booking and my son couldn't find the booking confirmation. I was all ready to go home and cook but the staff tried super hard to fit us in. Checking for any parties ready to leave and eventually moving some tables round to get us in. The food was tasty and plentiful and the service friendly, welcoming and professional.

Attempted to order food at 11:40 but was told kitchen doesn't open until 12pm despite food being brought to other tables. Didn't once come to check if food was okay. Gravy was like dish water, burger was full of grzzle causing me to choke, lettuce was brown and shriveled and chips were manky. Got served a drink which cost £2.79 from a can that was price marked 59p. Overall shocking service and shocking food. Will not waste my money here again!

Starter OK Pie chips and peas pie was microwaved all fell in on its self looked raw. Complained, chose a Burger terrible showed the waitress the Chips who said they were fine, just crispy.they said a team leader would come after waiting and waiting I took both our plates and plonked them on the bar in front of new customers. I eventually got an apology, but only after telling me the chips are like that because they have skin on.

Won't be visiting again.had the creamy chicken and ham pie,pastry was raw in the middle,chips had seen better days,returned the meal as it was awful.was asked if we wanted anything in place so we went for a second option,was just as bad.seems that everything is either microwaved or reheated in some form.staff didn't seem overly bothered,asked to see someone in a senior position and ended up taking the plate to the bar.over all experience staying away

First time we visted they called time at 10pm and wanted us out 10.30pm ,the 2nd time was busier and atmosphere was much more relaxed.

Great variation on food, good wines on sale with a fantastic selection of lager's and bitters. Together with a bonus point discount card what more can you ask for.

Visited the restaurant for breakfast. It was OK. Some more gluten free options in bread would be great. Toast was fine though. Furniture wasn't very clean and needs an update. Staff was very friendly and location is convenient when coming from the ferry.

The food is edible. Great soft play meaning if you have kids you can get a meal in you. If you don't have kids you have the option of sitting away from it. The place gets very busy. The staff seem over worked and stressed out- They serve you with a strained smile, which is more than I would manage in their shoes. Overall, the experience is okay-good.

It was very busy so we didn't bother. They did advise us it would be a 1hr wait
