A group of us went, about 24 people. We really enjoyed it.

Great place lovely atmosphere and staff were brilliant and wonderful food

Incredible food! Great value for money! Friendly staff and dog friendly too! We’ve lived in the area for over a year now but have only just got round to visiting and we 100% will be back! Really want to try the Sunday menu too!

Lovely staff, welcoming environment and toilets are clean. Pizzas are lovely

This was our second visit to this pub, we had heard good reports about the food and on our first visit the service and food was good! Sadly tonight we arrived to find that the bar had no lime, as neither my partner or I drink we were disappointed, but as we had a table of 10 in our party we sat a looked at the menu, we are both small eaters and asked if we could have mini fish and chips , the young lady said no unless it was for a child ,we decided not to eat and paid for the other eight meals and waited while they ate! So disappointed in the lack of service, we had booked and paid a deposit and intended to use it as our local place for pub food! But not now, just a little bit of thought and consideration would have helped and they would have gained two customers bringing other friends with us !

Called in for Sunday lunch , proper traditional Sunday lunch , everything was cooked and hot when brought out we had the beef which was very tender , can't fault the meal , Staff very friendly. If we ever in the area again we will definitely call back in

Found the Royal Oak by accident on our way back home. Fabulous food and such good value for money. Service was great and friendly. Highly recommend

A nice friendly pub , entertainment on first Thursday in month , food not as expected on 2May to day , chips poor and not cooked brown and crispy , shepherds pie was dry

Popped in for lunch after a dog walk excellent food good choice, the service could not of been better the young lady serving us was smiley polite and very attentive. We will most definitely be going again. The price was also a pleasant surprise 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Three of us £26 including drinks brill, nice n warm on a wet cold day, good service and excellent lunch, easy parking well be going there again soon nice pud.

Service with a smile. Lamb hot pot,not much lamb. Chips lovely. Beef hash,OK Portions were large,and value for money.

Booked in for Festive Menu meal with family yesterday. Everyone in our party had a great time. The food was excellent and plentiful. Would 100% recommend you pay a visit. 5*.

Can't comment on food as we didn't try but told really nice, nice staff too and a wide range of beverages. Reason for 3 stars as the place was full so we sat out the back round a table but was told we needed to give up the seats as tables were reserved inside so we had to stand outside as we couldn't sit inside as too busy but now couldn't sit outside either, decided to leave

Four of us went Wednesday evening and had the festive menu. The food and the service was amazing. Could not fault it. The pub itself was warm and cosy. We will definitely be returning. 10/10. Thank you Royal Oak

Had Christmas menu today, was excellent. Prawn cocktail, Roast Turkey Main And cheesecake to take home. Real value for money beautifully cooked well done

What can I say a great traditional lovely village pub who happens to serve exceptional home cooked food , great menu selection and generous servings with a fabulous price tags means you can visit more often , good atmosphere friendly and welcoming, John the landlord has got this pub back on the map highly recommended you won’t be disappointed a great addition to the village 😊

Came here on recommendation of friends. What a lovely friendly pub,we ordered food and wow, we were not disappointed! Proper home cooked delicious food!! Good selection of drinks and friendly staff and what we presume is the manager ... funny guy. The locals seem a great bunch, felt instantly at home....proper pub vibes! The only disappointment was the offensive language of one very loud man. I'm not old fashioned but this man was very opinionated and every other word began with F. Not ideal when dining with your wife! We'd love to come back with friends but the language was more fitting of a football pitch than a place serving such good food, we spoke to the table next to us, just having a drink and they felt the same about him. Mr landlord....have a word with the foul mouthed older bald limpy man! But we will return....just not sit by him. Fab little pub though....keep up the good work!

Great pub, beer was cracking small selection of well kept cask beer, food exceptional and prices very keen, the chef is a gem and goes out of his way to give you just what you want!

This is quite a local pub to us and so this weekend with the weather being fabulous we have used it more. We had visited both Friday and Saturday. The bar staff are all lovely and service is great. My other half had a small basket meal of burger and chips and it was delicious. When we returned on the Saturday we decided we would eat again. On the BBQ outside home made chicken tikka was being cooked and my other half decided he was having that. I went for the mozzarella burger. Wow. Both dishes were fabulous. So reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. I love tje side portion of chips you get. Yum. Would I recommend this place. Abso-blinking-lutely. Food and service are great. We will be coming back to try the ribs on the menu.

Nice little pub to drop in for a meal and quick drink.

We went here today for Sunday lunch, didnt really know what to expect as not eaten in here before, also there was nobody eating , so thought,mmmm maybe it's not good but we are here now so give it a go, glad we did, lovely , probably one of the nicest roasts iv had out in a long time, every thing proper , meat, roast potatoes, all veg, fresh and home cooked, and loads on the plate, will defo have Sunday lunch in here again, very nice 🙂

First visit today, friendly atmosphere as you walk through the door , small menu but enough variety to cover most tastes. Food was lovely and definitely worth every penny (very very reasonably priced) look forward to visiting again .

Jon has taken over and I'm so glad! The food is proper home cooked style. Lovely steaks. Gorgeous home cooked yorkies /gravy on the roast. A recent addiction are John's burgers.OMG..dont bother going to all these burger outlets. Come here for a juicy flavoursome Smashburger or Chicken burger Lovely menu with prices you won't beat for portion size and flavours!

We had the most amazing steaks for my hubby's bday ,with our friends ,rib eye,fillet ,and sirloin all cooked to.prefection,and thank you John for accommodated our friend who turned up late ,.The best steaks around.we will be back.

Had fillet steak, absolutely amazing, better than restaurants I have spent more than double on. Service, food and atmosphere perfect for a local friendly night out.

John has recently taken over The Royal Oak and in the short time he's been there has made improvements to menu and food served, I regularly go down to royal oak for the odd pint or two, john and his staff always make me feel welcome.

Brilliant pub and rejuvenated under johns new management. Great beer, great entertainment and best jukebox around.

John has recently taken over The Royal Oak and I'm so happy as it's our local pub! Always a homely feel inside and a warm welcome from all the staff. 🥰 His menu is simple, yet has everything you need. I am a serious foodie and have eaten at Michelin Starred restaurants and I can tell you now, THIS MAN CAN COOK ! His Ribeye Steak (cooked medium) is amazing! I don't normally eat chips but I tried his and they're really really good! My other half loves his lamb hotpot and cottage pie too! John always makes time to chat to his customers and has that lovely Irish charm 💓 Nice range of beers but please stock a nice Vintage cider as I'm a cider girl 🙏🙏

Proper pub. Not a gastro pub or a wine bar. Sells proper beer and nice food at a decent price. Good atmosphere with people actually talking to each other instead of staring at their phones all night. Love this pub.

Called in for a drink before returning home New Years Eve. I couldnt decide if i was in a pub or a nursery couldnt move for prams & pushchairs New Years Eve is not a time for babys in a pub wont be coming here again.

Even though we are at the hight of pandemic, the food was of top quality, staff lovely, waited a lil while for drinks, altho that was understandable given reduced staff, would recommend and definitely go again, thankyou for a lovely meal 😉

First time I've been to the Royal Oak great wyrley, definately worth 5 stars, pub well run following all covid regulations, staff amazing and the food hot, tasty and well worth 5 stars, definately will return ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great atmosphere. Great group of people frequent the place. There was live music on the Sunday night that I was there. A lone guy who sang lots of 60's songs. So much fun and everyone enjoyed their night. They have quite a few events happening through the week. Unfortunately I was on holiday and unable to attend. Highly recommended.
