Lovely lunch out for my Mum and I

We visited today to book a table for 3 adults. Unfortunately they no longer accept cash and only accept payment by card. As card isn't our preferred method of payment we left. Seems very silly to turn away paying customers. After speaking to other family members and friends, discovered they had also left due to it being cashless. They must be losing so much custom!!!

Best pub in the area. Evening meals are superb, the new breakfast menu is top notch. The food and service are always top quality. Great for an afternoon pint at the weekend too, the new refit looks stunning. It's good to see places like this still thriving.

Came for breakfast with family. Everything was superb. We all had different things and stayed for an extra cuppa afterwards. It was busy and not many team members on shift so we appreciated the service we got. Highly recommend especially if you like well done crispy bacon as they aren’t afraid to do it.

My husband and I have had a late Sunday lunch today 24th Nov I had the lamb lovely presentation was delicious my husband had the cheese pie the staff was very attentive we will be back compliments to the chefs 👌

Little problem with card reader on the Sunday but soon sorted lovely meals as always staff helpful and friendly Sunday is very busy best to book our favorite place is the beer garden great place to eat drink and socialise and the whole place is dog friendly

We came here for dinner on a Saturday, which was a bad idea, because the place was very busy and maybe too busy for them to handle. Although usually the food is quite decent (in fact this is the only place in the neighborhood with good food), it was not good this time. Although the taste was not bad, the pizza was a bit cold and soggy and the cheese topping of the chips was cold and hard, and they gave us a spoon too big for eating the sundae we ordered. We would recommend their flat cider though. That being said, we still would come again, just not on holidays or weekends. We had Sunday Lunch here today (I know I said no weekends but ...), the portion was big and the taste of the Sunday roasts was okay, although the desert we had (dark chocolate tart) was a bit bland.

Lovely place only stopped for a drink,card only but that would not stop me having a bite there, 2 half's of beer was £5.25 ,fair enough so 40p goes on bank charges and they lost out on 75p tip,crazy,last thing you want is to go cashless,for so many reasons

Went with a large party for a Birthday Beer garden nice but tables with filthy and empty glasses attracting wasps which we cleared ourselves Seemed very understaffed Went to order food to be told too busy come back in 30 mins.. 30 mins later went to order food again to be told another 30 mins At this stage we left, no apologies or anything from management Really disappointing and a big loss of sale for the business Won’t be returning in a hurry Worst part was it wasn’t even that busy

Not the best rooms no hot water in the shower in the morning rooms to close to the road didn't get much sleep with the cars passing all night need to sort the window out what use is breakfast at 9 when People need to leave for work at 7 o'clock

Rooms a little basic but nice,food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Service was really good until it got busy and then we were forgotten about - the ribs were so dry and tough as old boots! Gutted as everyone else food was good! No alternative offered other than apologies.

Stopped on our way home for a coffee. Lovely beer garden nice friendly staff.

Went for breakfast and the place is very spacious and clean. Lovely inside, would recommend booking first as it does get crowded and full, especially for Sunday Lunch. Staff nice and food good , especially for the price. Recommended by me.

Busy pub with good grub. What more could you want

Enjoyed a lovely lunch, gammon steak followed by Tiramisu. Good and friendly service, with its own Car Park, and plenty of tables, and open air canalside patio.

Update - July 2024 Another visit, another great experience. ******************************** Update - April 2024 Nothing changes here, which is good, as its fine just the way it is. Lovely bar and restaurant on the Lancaster Canal. Beautifully decorated interior with a large outdoor seating area. Welcoming and helpful staff throughout.

We arrived yesterday for sunday lunch 5 pepole food was ok unfortunately the staff just didn't make us welcome..... Repeatedly had to ask for drinks . We were later joined by 4 more family members for drinks not enough chairs to sit on and were to We had to move the chairs back when asked where else we could sit were told there wasn't any after the amount of money we had spent I find the staff unbotherd and quite frankly rude and abrut

Lovely lunchtime meal here with my daughter. Big potions and definitely worth the money, you certainly get what you pay for. Very tasty 😋 Staff were very helpful and friendly, service with a smile 😃 We will definitely be going again.

Very enjoyable sun trap/ beer garden on the canal path with a boat stop outside. Only called for a drink but inside was comfortable and cosy. Definitely worth a stop if you are passing.

Takeaway roast dinner - used lancaster and morecambe eats. Really easy to navigate. We were staying in carnforth and wanted a Takeaway roast. We was not disappointed everything was perfect. Yorkshire puddings were amazing and the meat portion was very generous Compliments to the chef. Staff were polite and helpful The atmosphere when I went to collect was also welcoming and friendly. Would definitely go here again

Delivery service was really quick and fabulous Jane really was fabulous, the food surpassed all our expectations. Our new favourite take away! A well deserved 5 stars!

Hoped the Lamb or Hake was still available but the new menu for April had started , any way I'm not a food expert but it was spot on again they had the top end family favourites an a couple of new season dishes which I had 1 of 😋😋😋😋😋😋 I will keep going back for 1 reason I like good food

Very good hotel, nice location, friendly staff, good beer and food. Room is very spacious and nice bathroom with a walk in shower.

Chicken wrap was very very dry. It was meant to be spicey and was just dry and bland.

Lovely clean pub, nice atmosphere, dog friendly, comfy seating, spacious outside area when weather is nice, direct access to/from canal, toilets are clean, would recommend 👍 Maybe worth noting though that service is a little pot luck. Most are lovely but man behind the bar today was quite snarky and not friendly at all. Wouldn't let him put you off tho

Original review below but just been back for lunch and it was delicious. We both had Beer Battered Fish Goujon Ciabatta and they were really nice, I swapped my fries for Salt & Chilli Pepper Fries which were really crisp and nice. Really nice, I had mackerel to start and then the gammon. The mackerel starter was absolutely delicious and the gammon was cooked perfect with a griddled pineapple and egg with a runny yoke.not cheap but presented really well and quality ingredients, my wife and daughter loved there meals. My wife said it was the best halloumi she had ever had.

Good experience generally, pleasant service. Good food, plenty of choice, stuffed chicken breast a bit dry and tough but very tasty sauce. Three of us chose sausage and mash - all rated good. Very quiet for a Saturday night.

Food was amazing, Great venue, a lot of attention to detail and good service, a little pricey but that is waved with the quality. I must add try the sticky toffee pudding.
