We had takeaway from here and all of the food was freshly cooked, well presented, and the service was amazing! Best curry I’ve ever eaten and the nicest people too. Would highly recommend it and wouldn’t go anywhere else for a curry.

Do not ordered not here I found hair in my food and there trying to say they don’t have hair everybody as eyebrow hair and eyelash they have now started to be very rude when I first called up about it they was saying they would send me more food and I said no as I don’t want anymore food they was saying there busy and there sorry it’s not good enough making loads off excuse snd so on not gonna go into all the in and out cause don’t even wanna give it to much air time but they given me my money back and it’s still not the point do not ordered from here

At last! A decent curry in Nottinghamshire. I’m from Birmingham so have spent my life enjoying delicious curries. I’ve tried countless curries in Nottingham and not found one that came close to one from the west midlands. We’ve tried 3 curries so far and all have been really fantastic. The naans are also great, along with the rice and other sides. Can’t fault!

A very small spotless converted corner shop type restaurant. A lovely atmosphere generated by the friendly staff. The Nepalese food from an extensive menu was sublime. A table for four was a bit cramped, but we loved it. Will definitely revisit when we’re back in the vicinity.

The best Nepalese food around! The food is extremely tasty good value and cooked fresh. The staff are very polite and welcoming. We will be back again and again our new local takeaway.

disappointed as this is our go too curry place...tikka bites were Luke warm at best. madras was nice but the chicken tikka masala was very sour and seemed off. this is not the usual standard we expect but it was just disappointing this time around.

Found this hidden gem by accident while on a bike ride today! It is the best Indian food we have ever tasted! Amazing flavours, quality ingredients and super friendly and helpful staff. We ordered the set meal for 2 and there was enough food for a party! We will be regulars from now on.

First visit here and the food was fantastic. We ate from the Gurkha menu and couldn't find fault with anything. It was very quiet although the takeaway service was doing a roaring trade. Don't be put off by it being on the corner of a row of terraced houses. This place is a little gem and we will become regulars.

We have had the set meal for 2 a few times now and the food has always been hot and flavorful. it's now our go to for a curry. the onion bahji is top notch. It's great value for money also as there is enough food for two days. Highly recommend

My 13yr old son loves the food from this place, as do I. We have only usually had our food delivered, so as part of his birthday celebrations he chose to dine at their restaurant. Seriously, this place is a hidden gem! The staff are so kind, courteous and considerate. They cannot do enough to make your visit there as pleasant as possible. The food is God tier! The best Hot Meat Puri I have ever had! Phenomenal. All the food is delicious. There was no negatives at all about our meal. It was perfect! The icing on the cake (literally!) was when the staff bought out a birthday cake, complete with candle, that they had arranged for my sons birthday without our knowing! It was seriously the sweetest, most kindest, gesture ever! We were all so touched. The Royal Gurkha, Newstead, is an outstanding restaurant that doesn't get anywhere near the recognition it so deserves.

I recently dined at royal gurkha newstead and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was top-notch, and the food was outstanding. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, especially the gurkha special kadai and kathmandu chef special. I highly recommend this restaurant for a memorable dining experience!

This is the second time we have ordered from Royal Gurkha and it didn’t disappoint. After trying several Indian takeaways in and around Hucknall, this is by far the best. Every dish we have ordered has so much flavour and the portions are incredibly generous. Delivery times are accurate too. Would highly recommend the Karahi, Tikka Massala, Tarka Daal and the Gurkha. So happy we found this takeaway when we’re fancying an Indian and we can’t wait to try more dishes in the future.

Exceptional meal and service for a party of 9 of us for a birthday meal and they even provided a complimentary birthday cake. I had the butter chicken which was delicious and also the Gurkha beer that was tasty. Thankyou for making it a special evening.

Order and delivery was a total nightmare but once the owners took control they were superb (even though dinner was over an hour late following multiple calls). Call them direct for an order or go in in person and you will get the most amazing food you could ask for. I will be ordering again…

It was our first time ordering a takeaway from here. Actually our first time eating their food. It arrived in super quick time. The delivery man followed our specific instructions on how to find us without getting lost and having to ring us. Wow, the food is so very good probably one of the nicest Indian foods I've ever had. The meal wasn’t as good tonight I’m quite disappointed, I will just be honest I don’t believe that the chicken and karma sauce was fresh the chucked was very dry and the sauce was dark in colour more like tikka sauce. And for the price I paid I expect it to be fresh at least! I have ordered plenty of times but think this will be the last.

Ordered a curry for me and my 6 year old to share- there was no taste to it at all. Very disappointed. Ordered chips and a kebab for the husband. He said the kebab was nice but chips just tasted of oil. After hearing good reviews we wanted to try this place. 1 order months ago was cancelled- not sure why- and now the tasteless food. Will not be ordering for here again unfortunately

Ordered food at 5.10pm and it arrived at 7.20pm. Most of the food tasted good but the onion bhaji were overcooked and hard and the naan breads were cold. Such a shame as we usually love ordering here
