I have ordered from Royal Gurkha a few times now and every time the food has been absolutely beautiful and always delivered on time and arrives fresh and hot. Highly recommended 👌

I can’t believe I haven’t ordered from here before. It was so tasty and the chicken was lovely and cooked to perfection. Lovely fluffy garlic rice too. This is my new favourite place, highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried this before. Absolutely perfect in every way.

Myself and my family had a meal at royal gurkha last night, the food was amazing very nice and fresh. The lady that served us was soo kind friendly, and helpful. One of the best curries I've had.

Had a 2 hour delivery last month but today it was on time and the food was absolutely incredible. Best in the area by a mile! Lamb and chicken in so tender!

Just had another meal from The Royal Gurkha. Excellent as usual. The quality of the ingredients always shines through. As a fussy eater they have never failed to impress me with their food which says a lot. Can highly recommend .You won't be disappointed.

Restaurant was using own delivery drivers but only two working on a very busy evening so our food requested for 19.10 arrived at 20.50. It was still hot when it arrived and quality was good otherwise.

Just been in to place order had to wait while the woman behind desk told me to wait for 4 phone orders. Sorry but disappointed won't be going there anymore

said it was delivered at 17.05 but wasn't delivered till over half hour later

Arrived hot and the first time we have used this restaurant. Set meal for two was amazing and hot, lots of lovely spicing the starter was brilliant 👏 5 star all the way.

Manager insists on £20 minimum spend to eat in. Food was good but we nolonger eat here. As loyal regulars this seems like a very disrespectful policy. They also add a service charge not on the menu. Management has gotten too greedy. On site staff are nice and polite. I won't be returning anytime soon. edit to response: 1) we often spend £12 - £16 and come regularly. We offered to pay a minimum of £12 but you insist on £20. 2) AC and lights are on anyway. I don't mind eating in the dark if you insist. 3) restaurant is usually empty and when there was a big party, I volunteered to move tables to accomodate the party. I also waited 90 minutes for my food that day and never complained. 4) the "inconvenient time" we still left before closing time. Not my fault your staff want to leave early. Why say you are open until 10pm if you want to leave the building at 9:30? Overall, I feel very unappreciated and disrespected by your sudden new policy which you didn't even have the guts to tell me about in person.

Great place to enjoy nice nepalese food. Service is good and prices for food are reasonable if sharing a main between two. EDIT: now they have gotten greedy and won't serve you unless you spend a fortune. Avoid this place. Go somewhere you are actually welcome like Bibiana Lounge in Hucknall.

I’ve had some nice curries from here but the chicken burger and chips are the worst chicken burger and chips Ive ever had the misfortune of spending £9.50 on even worse then those microwave burgers you get from the corner shop crap burgers but good curry

Do not ordered not here I found hair in my food and there trying to say they don’t have hair everybody as eyebrow hair and eyelash they have now started to be very rude when I first called up about it they was saying they would send me more food and I said no as I don’t want anymore food they was saying there busy and there sorry it’s not good enough making loads off excuse snd so on not gonna go into all the in and out cause don’t even wanna give it to much air time but they given me my money back and it’s still not the point do not ordered from here

At last! A decent curry in Nottinghamshire. I’m from Birmingham so have spent my life enjoying delicious curries. I’ve tried countless curries in Nottingham and not found one that came close to one from the west midlands. We’ve tried 3 curries so far and all have been really fantastic. The naans are also great, along with the rice and other sides. Can’t fault!

Visited for a takeaway. Phoned the order in, was ready on time. Food was really good and hot. Will be back.

A very small spotless converted corner shop type restaurant. A lovely atmosphere generated by the friendly staff. The Nepalese food from an extensive menu was sublime. A table for four was a bit cramped, but we loved it. Will definitely revisit when we’re back in the vicinity.

The best Nepalese food around! The food is extremely tasty good value and cooked fresh. The staff are very polite and welcoming. We will be back again and again our new local takeaway.

disappointed as this is our go too curry place...tikka bites were Luke warm at best. madras was nice but the chicken tikka masala was very sour and seemed off. this is not the usual standard we expect but it was just disappointing this time around.

Found this hidden gem by accident while on a bike ride today! It is the best Indian food we have ever tasted! Amazing flavours, quality ingredients and super friendly and helpful staff. We ordered the set meal for 2 and there was enough food for a party! We will be regulars from now on.

We ordered a takeaway from here for 1st time. It was amazing 👏 great flavour on the chicken lasani, korma was lovely and sweet (super happy daughter) nann was big enough for 3 people, great portions, Great pricing. Worth every penny.

First visit here and the food was fantastic. We ate from the Gurkha menu and couldn't find fault with anything. It was very quiet although the takeaway service was doing a roaring trade. Don't be put off by it being on the corner of a row of terraced houses. This place is a little gem and we will become regulars.

My 13yr old son loves the food from this place, as do I. We have only usually had our food delivered, so as part of his birthday celebrations he chose to dine at their restaurant. Seriously, this place is a hidden gem! The staff are so kind, courteous and considerate. They cannot do enough to make your visit there as pleasant as possible. The food is God tier! The best Hot Meat Puri I have ever had! Phenomenal. All the food is delicious. There was no negatives at all about our meal. It was perfect! The icing on the cake (literally!) was when the staff bought out a birthday cake, complete with candle, that they had arranged for my sons birthday without our knowing! It was seriously the sweetest, most kindest, gesture ever! We were all so touched. The Royal Gurkha, Newstead, is an outstanding restaurant that doesn't get anywhere near the recognition it so deserves.

I recently dined at royal gurkha newstead and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was top-notch, and the food was outstanding. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, especially the gurkha special kadai and kathmandu chef special. I highly recommend this restaurant for a memorable dining experience!

This is the second time we have ordered from Royal Gurkha and it didn’t disappoint. After trying several Indian takeaways in and around Hucknall, this is by far the best. Every dish we have ordered has so much flavour and the portions are incredibly generous. Delivery times are accurate too. Would highly recommend the Karahi, Tikka Massala, Tarka Daal and the Gurkha. So happy we found this takeaway when we’re fancying an Indian and we can’t wait to try more dishes in the future.
