When this place first opened it was grate but over time it's gone down hill customer service was absolutely shocking but seems like there's new owners, now and this gs have started to turns around, a little better after the take over

Diarrhea, Stomach pain, always get diarrhea and stomach pain eating their curries and biryani, kebabs, they add lots of dairy products in it, have stopped buying from this takeaway restaurant permanently

Nice food,freshly cooked and a good variety. The wait is long enough to know your food is cooked, but not much longer.The food is always pipeing hot,the last thing you want to do when you get home...is Microwave it. Boooo

Some of the worst food I've had in a long time was dry and chewy like its been reheated discussing flavour from the food should of read the reviews before ordered wont be ordering from here again!!! 😑

Chicken is the best I've ever tasted seriously and I'm not just saying that. Put me in such a good mood! I have ibs too and the spices didn't upset my stomach either which is another bonus!

There are a lot of positives, good menu with lots of choice and cheap prices- but I have had grisly burgers, overly greasy pizzas and suspect chicken. Hygiene leaves something to be desired but it is one of those places that you know what you are getting yourself in for and still at least be satisfied if you go in knowing this.

Awful... This used to be a great to eat. But it has deteriorated somewhat especially in regards to cleanliness and service. Last visit was the final time. Fingers in food as it was served. Cold salad thrown on the cooked meat so the meat was cold and salad warm! However they did us a favour as we started visiting The Panear, an Algerian restaurant next door and the food there is FANTASTIC ! Well not be visiting The Royal Grill again!

Delicious food, well cooked lambchops !!

Ordered a Lamb Biryani. Let alone to match Biryani standards it was lower than when you mix lamb curry with rice and heat. They just mixed their lamb curry and add rice to it. Very disappointing. Even takeaway on Foleshill do a reasonable job with biryani.

Worst place to go the seating are all ripped and the service is severely poor food is sub par not recommend this place to anyone please spend your money elsewhere and wisely

This place is extremely dirty...food is not fresh... Gone downhill since being taken over... would not eat there again for free.. would not recommend.. Food Hygiene must be a 0.. place needs to be closed down.....

Went to the shop and ordered food at 20:40, got my order at 21:20. On a monday night, and the place was dead. To wait that long is shocking. And the food was terrible, since new owners have come it's gone downhill. Used to be Really busy and food used to be spot on.

Went there for a takeaway mix grill no4 and Chicken Shawarma. Food taste was good and plus the price they charge was great. Its a good value for money.

Just ordered Masala Fish with salad and chips.... I swear to god the fish wasnt cooked its was like jelly .... Like someone spat on it My friend called them back and said she want something else. Order taken incorrectly! Shocking delivery service which took over 1 hour! When delivered, there was a whole pizza missing! When I called back they said another 25 minute wait! Not the first time (Reoccurring trend)! Avoid at peak times!

This place used to be exceptional until the change of staff/owners. Since the change I’ve been three times in the hope that it has got back to somewhere near where it was. Unfortunately the first two occasions where I had a chicken tikka nan meal left me ill the following day. The most recent visit last week the food was of very poor quality. On a positive it didn’t make me ill the following day but it’s the final nail in the coffin. I won’t be going back whilst the current owners are in charge. The restaurant just seems really badly run. Sad to see a previously good establishment get so bad.

Forget the waiting time it's ready in there own time

I went Royal Grill in Coventry to order food. I was waiting, the person on the till saw me waiting about 5 to 10 minutes. He answered the phone twice without acknowledging me. Then a second phone rings and a chef from the back comes running to answer the phone. I said to him that I’m waiting to place the order, but he continues to answer the phone. By this point I had enough and ripped up the menu and walked out and got in the car. Then 2 or 3 of them came running and starting banging on my car and said I was rude and threatened to break my car windows next time. Learn some manners you thugs, I certainly won’t be going back.

Close down or get a proper chef!! Worse food ever! I wouldn’t feed this to my dog I’ve never had food delivered from a restaurant where they serve you smashed up poppadoms, and careless about there food. The masala fish was so bad it didn’t even have batter on the fish, the lamb chops and sheesh kebabs were severely over cooked, the curry was drenched in oil and tasteful, my child’s popcorn chicken was burnt and chips were stale!!! We binned the food and I rang to complain, the guy on the phone was extremely rude and refused to sort out the problem! Avoid this place at all cost!!

Absolutely disgusting, avoid this place at all costs. The Lamb Chops were tasteless, Sheesh Kebabs were overcooked and very dry, the Masala Fish batter fell off the fish and had no taste to it, the Royal Special curry dish was again tasteless, overly salty and doused in oil and all the other items ordered were very sub par. Attempted to explain this to them over the phone but they were not interested at all. Atrocious food and equally atrocious customer service.

Went in and ordered food totalling £25 to take away. Got home and realised they hadn't given us any fries with any of the meals. Called them and asked for a delivery of fries to which they said no. Had to drive back and get them. Won't be going here again.

Gone down since new owners they charge for little pots of chilli sauce and mint sauce when you order food to go no other restaurants or takeaways do this all free. Don't use any more. Used to go all the time as it was good but now rubbish.

The food was late and was terrible, we couldn't eat it. The order was wrong, meat smelled off and we regeret not reading reviews befere placing the order.

I ordered the food. It arrived all cold. Lamb donnor was burnt you wouldn't even feed to animal never mind human. Delivery driver didn't have changed he went for shop and never come back. When I complain about food and driver shop owner blame it to customer for driver and said driver is not their issue . What a rubbish... I will never get food from this place. Really bad attitude and management. PLEASE THINK TWICE ORDERING FROM THIS PLACE.

Fantastic foods and all dishes are really tasty and you get freash salad, not salad that has been stored in the fridge for 2 days. great value for money. Fantastic customer service. Royal grill has introduced pizza to he menu, best pizza going in Coventry. Recommend this place to everyone. 5 stars

complete change of staff and quality of food has gone downhill. this used to be a very busy establishment but clientele numbers seems to be dropping gradually.

People are very rude took very long to bring my food and once its arrived instead of karahi it was curry 😡

1. Steak is very overpriced, full of gristle. 2. Cheese Burger was very dry 3. Chicken Strips - cheap chicken meat, brown on the inside so definitely not made with chicken breast 4. Soggy steak chips and dry fries 5. Forgot drink with order Will not be ordering again, ordered from the leaflet they posted through the door, made the food look nice in pictures, looked nothing like that when it actually arrived especially the steak which was just horrible.

Warning - ZERO hygiene rating. I went here thinking I'd be able to get a lemon and herb grilled chicken burger. Firstly the place is freezing. Secondly what I got didn't have any lemon and herb flavouring. It tasted very strange. I took a few bites and left it. Later on I was heavily sick and had stomach pains. A colleague at work pointed out that this place has a 0 hygiene rating. Don't go here, you will get ill.

BEWARE - This places has a ZERO food hygiene rating. Check on "scores on the doors" Coventry City Council hygiene rating website. Also, the heating does not work in this place. If eating in, your food will go cold in under a minute during the winter months.

Got our order wrong last week wanted masala fish home delivery got a doner kebab!!! Phoned them they didn't want to know. So tonight we fancied masala fish again ( always been good from here so we thought we'd give them another chance ) rang them for our order and was faced with an extremely rude person on the phone who couldn't seem to understand anything we were saying when we asked for chicken wings they said whole chicken or half a chicken? We said no just chicken wings!!! And then met with a rude response as if we didn't know what we were ordering!!!!!!! If you want to keep the loyal customers you have got Royal grill you really need to sort your staff out.

Disgusting food dirty people, my food arrived the salad was so disgusting it was off so horrible I had to through it in the bin, the chicken donner was cold and dry, the fries omg wasn’t even cooked properly please do not eat from here I have reported it to the Coventry city council food hygiene.

We used to be regular customers and always received great service and brilliant food delivered straight to our door. Last night Royal Grill decided they couldn't be bothered to deliver our meals to Tile Hill despite always doing so for years, and even after they accepted the order online, calling me and saying if I want my food I will have to come and get it. We used to always look forward to our occasional treat from there but with that level of customer service we won't be ordering from here ever again...shame as the food is genuinely awesome.

Decent food. But given the prices you pay and the atrocious waiting time,might not be worth it overall. Does have seating in shop however.

Ordered over the phone and was told 25mins, arrived half an hour later and was asked what my order was at which point he took the lamb chops from the fridge next to the till to cook! Why take telephone ordered if you aren't actually going to make it??? Charging 25p for sauce on an £18 order abit petty!! And then tried to short change me! Not the Royal Grill it used to be back in the days.

My Kebab was really good. Also noticed that they do a tandoori grill ( lamb chops, steak, chicken), as well as peri peri chicken, curries, southern fried chicken and kebabs. The prices seem great and the staff were friendly. Only gave the place 4 stars because is it was my first time there.

Phoned up to place order, arrived 20 minutes later. Order was not even being cooked. Had to wait a further 20 minutes... This is not the first time and prob not the last time.....

I ordered food which I was waiting 90 minutes for then when my food finally arrived inside both chicken burgers the meat was raw an purple I then rang to have food resent out an after another 90 minutes still no show of my food ive rang them back an got told they were going to be a further 30 minutes so this was a complete waste of money will not be using this place again 100% disappointment as my food still never was sent back to me I don't recommend this place to anyone

Disgusting service by the owner manager no respect whatsoever and thinks he can treat his long term customers like rubbish, after ordering last week like maybe my 50th order the guy calls me after there app allowed me to spend 20mins making the order that it will be delivered in 60mins then he calls and says sorry we don’t deliver there,I said you delivered here 50 x before, he said well not tonight, so I travelled across the city to collect my order. The app allows you 10% discount for delivery or collection but the owner/manager decides too not offer me his 10%disocunt,maybe they are on hard times so I gave it to them. After getting home I called them to complain about the batch for the burger it was so dry it just fell apart in my fingers very annoying after spending £3.50 on a burger. What was more annoying was there was no apology instead he said that if I was going to complain then not to order again, I generally think the food and service is quite good and good value but I don’t expect to be told not to complain if there’s a problem. What got me annoyed enough to write this review is the fact my brother has just gone to place an order and after confirming the order hey have called him and said because there was a complaint about the batches “they are not happy” and didn’t want to serve us. There should be a law against this disgusting level of service, not impressed with the attitude. As I said we must spend up to a £100 on some months on kebabs etc so il take my money else where from now on like now I just spent £23.75 with spices instead!

Ordered food !! Specifically stated no mayonaise on burger. Order arrived with mayonnaise on burger. Chips were like cardboard, cold food with mouldy cheese on the chips. Called and spoke to the shop and was told "we don't refund customers" he then told me to never order food from them again. Disgraceful service. Told him I would be speaking with trading standards as the quality of the food was disgraceful...he then said on this occasion he would send his drive back to give me my money back. The driver refunded 5 pounds and said he was charging me for the pop. Shocking service, disgraceful and unprofessional response Would not order from here again.

This is the second time we have had something wrong with the food just ordered a chicken fillet burger meal and the batch had mold on this place is a joke and not worth any money. The food hygiene is unreal absolutely vile wouldn't feed it to my dog!!! Don't eat from here!!!!!!!

Doesnt even deserve one star this happened less then 5 minutes ago ordered 2 masala fish meals as me and my mum was eating we found hair in the meal when i called them up to tell them what had happened the first man came on the phone and said so, then i asked to speak to someone in charge and asked for a refund as i didnt want anything else after that he told me no your not having a refund as you've touch the food , then when i said i will not be ordering from here again he replied " ok darling thanks" and hung up the phone im livid horendous customer service rude staff and disgusting food dont order from them 😠😠😡😡😡😤😤
