Royal Bar in Belfast

Friendly people. Had a great time. Great music. They encouraged everyone to have a good time. The bartender danced when they werent busy keeping the beer flowing.I actually made a few new friends in the few short hours there. Going back to Belfast in July next year. It's on my list to stop for few.

We were staying just round the corner and seen the bar so pop in for a drink. It’s ok a bit rough but it’s a bar in Belfast not a 5 star hotel.

Had a great afternoon in The Royal on Saturday 16 December 2023. All the locals were friendly. Sandra was super friendly and helpful, booking a table nearby in Darcys for our evening meal. As 4 English people we felt no threats and safe. Will be back, John, Janette, Trisha & Leigh.

totally ignorant bar staff called kim, when shes not talking [about customers] of flirting with you guys she might possibly serve you, but dont bet on it

Friends of mine told me to meet them in here. Great pub. Landlady was extremely helpful with sorting a taxi for another friend who was coming to pub.

Had a lovely evening here great craic lovely people And a good pint of Guinness Nice friendly landlord and clean toilets

Great pub on Shankill Road in Belfast. Located 15 minutes of walk from Belfast city centre. Very nice and kind staff. Good prices and excellent Guinness.

Wrote a |eview earlier about a friend singing rebel songs in sandy Row he has no memory of sat nite in Belfast we wound him up big time no offence folks just having the crack😊😊

Started visiting the Royal a while back and definately feel at home in here. Staff are great, the regulars give plenty of banter and with the shop next door, plenty of Tayto cheese and onion

Was in this pub with my dad for first time was over from scotland brilliant atmosphere and staff were simply the best made to feel very welcome

My partner and I were walking past (as we are on holidays from Sydney Australia). We heard music and thought let’s get a beer and check out the music. Well well that was the BEST decision we made!!! We danced all night and had an awesome time mingling with the locales. The owner Ronald was a true gentleman and his wife is a charming lovely lady, she introduced me to another Australian in the bar that so happens also comes from the same location as us in Sydney. We were the last to leave but wished the night didn’t have to end. This was a Sunday night as well. Highly recommend the Royal! Hopefully we can come back :)

Went in here as a couple we late 50's It was a local bar with lots of music atmosphere made very welcome We are from England .Locals interested to talk to us .Good banter The bar staff non stop working and helpful .People might think it rough and ready but it's better than tourist pubs and prices very very reasonable.They don't serve food ,was Alex "hurricane Higgins local so for snooker fans particularly of the older generation a must

I would give this pub more than a rating of 5 if I could. It is the most welcoming pub we went in. Staff and regulars very friendly and generous. I would recommend this pub to anyone visiting Belfast. We will be back. Thank you for such great hospitality. Paul and Denise. From Aldershot

Walked out after being here for 15 minutes. It was before an international football match in Windsor my friends attended, dozens of people singing sectarian songs. Sick sick place.

Una horrible excusa para un pub que estaba muy contento de facilitar el sectarismo durante un reciente partido de fútbol en Irlanda del Norte. La discriminación contra los católicos se muestra en un miembro abierto por parte de la clientela, que fue ignorada y no detenida por la gerencia. Esto a pesar del hecho de que el gerente de dicho equipo de Irlanda del Norte es un católico. . . que es quizás el testimonio del coeficiente intelectual de las personas que asisten a este bar, así como las personas que lo dirigen. Irlanda del Norte ha avanzado. . . tal vez deberías intentarlo también.

We were here in a Saturday night and we had the best of times. Sure, the Shankill Road is very different from what you will find in most other British cities and it may not be for everyone, but I really appreciate an area that is proud of its history and its culture. The bar is filled with union jacks and north Irish flags and the crowd is defiantly loyalist. People in here are friendly (if you’re one of them!), prices are reasonable and music is good.

Sandra and Aaron i think there names were behind the bar are such a credit to the pub! So helpful about everything. We got served quick at the bar and over all the pub has a fantastic atmosphere (will defo be back). We stayed in holiday inn on hope street which is a 5 minute walk through Sandy Row to here. Don't know why this says restaurant its a very good bar.

HI to Everyone at the Royal.Finished my travels and ended up in belfast, decided to have a beer, on a whim and ended up at the royal.Bar staff and locals were welcoming and friendly.Have returned a year and a half later to say gday and try and repay back the hospitality of the locals.will be going back again next 12th of july 2019.Everyone should go to Belfast at least once and call into the royal for a cold beer.Thankyou to everyone for being fabulous and will see you soon.kim solo traveller all the way from Australia.

Over the last six years or so we have made many return visits to Belfast and this pub is such a firm favourite that we use it as our local when there. The people know our names by now and we are always welcomed. There has never been any bother and we have enjoyed many nights when there has been an excellent singer present. It is a hidden gem!

Fantastic welcome by the barstaff and the locals . Played darts and loved the Guinness . As we were A party of 9 stag party ,we felt very comfortable in there and Stayed for 5 pints

My local - love it. Drank in here for 30 years. Recommend it if your passing. why not have a pie aswell!

Visited this bar by accident once inside you just couldn't resist the temptation of a nice cold beer in clean friendly atmosphere.

Algunos pubs un recomendado como el típico bar belfast local. experiencias Sí, mark esto. Llegamos alrededor de las 4 de sentarse en el bar, había otros 6 (local) con los clientes. La camarera nos ignoró todo el tiempo posible y finalmente entramos a nuestro fin tomar nuestra orden. Ella no era amable, sino todo lo contrario, es como si tuviésemos colamos un club privado. Y no!!! Es un bar de ulster y a menos que saber que - no vienen. Turismo dólares no significan nada a este lugar y no nos ofrecieron un segundo trago. La gente comenzó a caminar en @ 5 y estábamos en sus sillas. NO HAY BIENVENIDA MAT.

A cheerful pub in Shankill, prices are average, local patrons are friendly, staff serve with a smile, great place to get a drink

Wandered around Belfast for a bit and found the Royal Bar. Best choice we made all week. Staff was friendly and got to know the owner. Atmosphere is exactly what you would look for in a hometown bar

Lovely friendly pub, feels like hanging out with a group of friends you've just met, but who will remember you next time you walk in. Lots of live music and singing, great atmosphere, love it

Hay El Royal en Sandy Row inicio al huracán Higgins y El Royal en Shankill Road. Ambos son pubs y vale la pena una visita. El Royal en Shankill tiene bingo y espectáculos en vivo desde las 3 pm los miércoles y cosas en el resto de los días. El Royal en Sandy Row es entretenimiento suficiente en sí misma pero oímos un cantante genial allí hace dos noches.

Nice bar and good laugh the bar is getting renovated started 01/3/2014 or bit before it so shud be even nicer ( great place to get a carry out)
