Route One Sports Bar in Nottingham

Went on a Sunday for some lunch with friends and the whole experience was a mess. I waited 40 minutes for my meal to come out in the meantime all my friends had got their food. One of my friends chicken was completely overcooked and horrible while another’s was raw. When we raised it with the staff he didn’t seem to give a s***. The curry my friend had looked like it came from ASDAs essentials and was served with aldis own tortilla chips not the poppadoms it was meant to come with. I also couldn’t get a second drink due to a minimum card spend of £5, which none of their drinks hit the price of. I’m not sure how but the fries and the coleslaw were the best things served. Staff were a joke. The food could be cooked better by a blind 90 year old. The drinks would have been the only saving grace if I didn’t have have to buy 2 for their stupid card minimum.

Came for food on a Sunday with friends, and other than my Coke Zero everything was appalling. One of our chicken wraps was beautiful served with raw chicken, another friend had the luxury of experiencing the opposite side of the spectrum with rock hard chicken. My meal was nothing short of a mess. A curry served with nachos instead of poppadoms which was meant to be included? The last friend ordered a wrap that arrived 40 mins after all of ours - and his words were “it was s*** and boring”. After we asked for a refund for the raw chicken. The manager decided to hideaway to leave the drama to the poor staff. Would avoid unless you’re here on a Wednesday for a jäger pint. Now know why they entice you in with 40% off your bill.

Called on for a pint to find it was happy hour Sunday.

Had brunch here yesterday for my friends birthday after a last minute mix up and I have to say the staff were absolutely amazing, Kate who works there helped me set up the birthday table and she made sure we had the best time. Just wanted to say a BIG thank you!! She helped me blow up all the balloons and the service she provided plus the food were both the best I have experienced in a very long, time thanks to Kate and all the team, we will definitely be back, you made this a special day for us after all the stress we encountered 👍

Went on a Sunday was 40% off until 12 midnight but then all of a sudden drinks went bk to full price despite the sign on the window still being displayed. We asked why and a very angry man snached the drinks before we could pay .Very baffling and confusing.

Always try and call in on a Friday when there is a discount on😁 The staff are really pleasant and efficient, because we visited around lunch time there were not many people in but I would imagine there would be a good atmosphere during the evening.

Complete change from the last time I was in there. Huge difference and I like it.

Too noisy, too many TV screens. Since they moved from Fat Cat bar on Chapel Bar to where they are now, it's lost it's atmosphere. Sad 😔 also the disabled toilets, they are now on the 1st floor. Not great 😕

Lovely food and drink served by helpful staff. If you want a quick bite if an evening you can't beat Route One.

Manager has anger issues and needs to calm down Avoid if possible, won’t be returning as plenty of other good venues in Nottingham

Terrible service from a nasty manager

Just visited route one and had some food and drinks. Food was amazing and came out really quickly. Staff are really friendly, especially Kate who was amazing!

Always a good night in here, just want to give a 5 star review to Moses, this guys always on point on the doors - one of the better doorman in Notts, get him a payrise lads!

NO FOOD, Average. broken locks on all the toilets,

Bar staff poured half my drink over the bar...refused to correct their error despite evidence of their of error on the bar and then refused to allow me to speak to the manager...DO NOT VOSIT THIS BAR

Went on a Saturday evening. Great atmosphere music was a mix for all ages.

We went in here at the end of a work night out and a great time was had by all. I left my jacket in here and they kept it in lost properly for me to collect a couple of weeks later.

I go there quite a bit on a Sunday.

Exceptional Korean Street Food here. Not expensive and full of flavour. Seek this place out!

Another great bar in Nottingham city centre

Dire. Went to watch the euro final. Music was like being at a rave and so loud you couldn't speak never mind hear the commentary. They then put the TVs off and closed the bar while there was still 10 minutes of the match left. Would be zeros stars if I could.

Brilliant prices quite a good vibe only thing that could be a bit better is the speed of service although I appreciate it's been busy. Also liked the member of staff who decked it down the stairs when showing us to our table, sounded like the EastEnders theme tune 😂

Place is awesome, £2 a pint on a Thursday. Feel like it's the 90's again.

Called in with a small group of friends for last drinks on Friday evening. Was served upstairs then as soon as we had got our drinks was told to head downstairs. Went to the bar for last drinks, door staff/ security watched us get served then immediately told us to drink up as they were closing. When questioned why they'd served us if they were closing and that we should be given fair time to drink up. The security shrugged his shoulders and said that's how it is take it or leave it. Got the distinct impression that had we argued things would have turned a bit nasty. Didnt feel welcome, wont be returning. Plenty of other bars to visit.

Fantastic place with lovely staff! The food is affordable as Thursdays is half price day (gratitude). I had ordered Veggie Burger with vegan mayo, avocado, caramelized onions, lettuce and fries and my friend ordered steak with fries and ginger ale. It was delicious! Highly recommend to try this gem out.

A public house that will not let the general public in unless your a student on a Wednesday. If your a normal working tax payer, your not welcome.

Went here with my partner for a 2 course Sunday roast. Only 2 courses because the starter and main were so delicious we couldn't fit dessert it. But will definitely be returning to squeeze dessert and cocktails in next time. Chilled atmosphere with attentive and lovely staff. We aren't sports fans but the booths are perfect for sitting and watching the footie.

Had dinner in here earlier, amazing staff behind the bar and the food was AMAZING. Love the new changes too. Very classy !
