We use this cafe everytime we pass to go down south however on the board is a range of choices of food so I read it and asked for a pancake her reply oh no I'm not making a pancake now I'm too busy? So had tea and a coffee. Sat down with my drinks then realised she had a lot of friends around the cafe having breakfasts and forgot about the table to the side of us waiting for drinks and food. Witg no apology. Tea wasnt very nice wouldn't bother in future. Shame used to really enjoy going there.

Really lovely welcome food was fantastic we had a mixture of meals all seemed home cooked and served with a smile only small niggle there was children running round bumping our seats whilst eating. These where the owners I believe but you want to enjoy your meal not be bumped as your taking in a fork full and having it knocked back to the plate.

Popped in after been too glass place next door. Petrol station next door. Car park. Route 66 cafe is needing TLC in and out. Patio around chairs &tables area needing tlc. Inside toilet. Good choice for foods and specials . Pleasant service. Quick service too table. Looking around sadly its not up too much, mould, damp evidence. Dusty bar area. It has so much potential . Food hot etc no problem there. Will call in again if in area.

The food is vey good and the staff very pleasant . I had Steak & Ale pie and enjoyed it . My wife had Scampi and said it was beautiful I know we will be back. Bob & Audrey.

On Wednesday, Hubby and I had just visited the adjacent amazing Glassblobbery Studio so we decided to have brunch at this Cafe. There is a FREE car park at the back. We expected the interior to be more of an American-themed diner, but it was more like a transport cafe (there is a garage/petrol station next door). We went to the counter. The Waitress was quite pleasant. Hubby ordered a bacon bap and I chose beans on toast. We also had 2 mugs of tea and a bowl of chips to share. The bill came to £9.20 (CASH payments only). Hubby said his bap was nice and tasty and the generous portion of chips were chunky and hot. However, I was a bit disappointed with my meal. The toast consisted of 2 ultra-thin slices of cheap white bread spread with greasy margarine. The ladle-full of beans were luke-warm and watery. Other customers were having the all-day breakfasts which seemed better value for money.

We were driving past and decided to stop and I'm so glad we did. Ok it's a little tired but this can be forgiven due to the great staff and lovely food which was exceptional value for money. The menu is small but the meals that are on offer are fantastic. There were 5 of us and we all tried something different and it cost 27 pounds including drinks. The portions of the main meals are big and my son fell in love with his eggs on toast and said it was the best he had ever tasted. Would go again in a heart beat.

We were visiting the area and wanted a quick bite to eat and a drink. We got what we wanted. It was cheap and cheerful but could have been so much better. My meal was spoiled by margarine on a bacon and egg bap which made it really greasy and there was a smell of old cooking oil filling the building. The bacon itself was lovely and thick and the egg had a lovely dark yolk. Great ice-cream too. I had seen online that the café had received a rating of 4 out of 5 for it's hygiene. I think this is fair. It was tatty and untidy rather than dirty. This café is described as a Diner and it has elements of that, but also has elements of a club, a bar, a café and a restaurant. It would be so much better if storage issues were sorted out. I can see that the café needs to meet different needs of the community but surely this can be achieved using a single décor type. I don't understand why there are sofas in the café. They look like they were surplice to someone's personal requirements but they didn't want to throw them out so they put them in the café. There is a sweetie stall, which would be much better near the main food counter if it has to be there at all. I couldn't find the Ladies toilets either though there was a symbol for them on the door leading to the area where the toilets were. I imagine it is a fantastic party venue, it just needs someone to take control and organise and simplify it. It is a shame as I think the owners are missing a great opportunity. I have to add that the staff were lovely and very helpful. Would I go there again, sadly no. There are many, many other cafes within a 5 mile radius and I would try one of them before going back to Route 66

Don't bother going in this pub unless you are a Local. You are the last to be served! Can't tell you about anything as we left as we were ignored. When 3 locals who came in after you get served before you why would you stay! We took our custom elsewhere.
