Having failed to find a restaurant with a table free in the area we opted for a takeaway from Route 49 and were not disappointed. Good quality fish and chips at a reasonable price. Well recommended.

Excellent cod & chips , the best since we moved to Shropshire. Freshly cooked to order. Friendly service, too. Able to eat straight away in the car outside. There are also some picnic tables there, if you prefer.

We stopped here for tea as we liked the fact that you can eat outside on the benches provided. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Especially the fish which was delicious. A lovely chippie.

we tripped over this little chippy on the way back from a day out. A friendly chap served us pie chips and Irish curry sauce! Yes his Irish curry sauce is a must 😄 Everything was lovely and he even wrapped it tin foil or keep them warm first the 15mins journey we had left. £12 was a bargain for great pie and chips!

Stopped here to get sausage, chips and gravy x 2, £10 he said, which then he reduced to 7.80, and wrote on the chip paper 10.00-7.80= and he couldn’t work out how much change to give me. To which he started to do our 2 meals, chips in, then straight to the fridge, opened the fridge pulled out a plastic container of ready mixed gravy, put 3 spoons of gravy into another plastic container and put it in the MICROWAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I asked him if he had no warm gravy in the baymaire, he said no but the gravy will be hot soon.!!!!!!!!!. I demanded my money back and he could keep the sausage chips and MICROWAVED gravy. Will NEVER go there again

Just stopped by chance at this fish and chip shop. As we were travelling with dogs we decided to eat them in the car. My husband was impressed by the service and warm welcome that he recieved. We enjoyed them so much that when we had finished my husband went back into the shop to pay the staff a complement on how delicious the food was.

Stopped as we were passing by, we were greeted by the couple there who wee very friendly and polite. My son and I both had mini fish and chips in a box with curry sauce and it was spot on in every way. 5/5 for the scores on the doors hygiene rating and it did look a very clean shop. We will definitely go back again, we really enjoyed it thank you.

Stopped here whilst on a test route ( I'm a test driver) and was hungry. I've been here before and it was ok but now it seems to be new owners. Was greeted by a nice Hindu fella and I presume, his daughter. I ordered cod and chips with a couple of pickled onions. As the young girl was serving me he started telling her something in his language ( very rude ) and she seemed to pick the smallest fish on show, it came with a tiny amount of chips and 2 pickled onions. I was charged £7.80 + for this. I drove to the next layby outside craven arms to eat this and then found out that the chips were ok, the fish was the smelliest and smallest fish I have had in a long time with batter that was raw inside, and the 2 pickled onions that were pretty much green. I was starving so ate it. The next 3 days were taken off work with sickness and diareah. Avoid like the plague.

We popped in here on the way back home which iswas another 2 hrs. We were served byTrudy, who was very pleasant, not only with us but the also with other customers. We asked about the "Irish Curry" on the menu and we were given a small amount to try along with a few chips to dip in it.....we ended up with a pot to share! We ordered a "mini" fish along with a other items and was surprised at the size of the piece of fish - at home it is usually a very thin piece of fish covered in too much batter. This was not the case - I saw Jay preparing the mini fish and it was cut from a large fillet- which meant you got a nice flakey and chunky "mini fillet" . This was cooked freshly for us and tasted awesome. We sat in our car to eat all the goodies and I had to go back in the shop to thank Judy and Jay for the wonderful food! So thank you Trudy and Jay for your excellent service and I know where to pop in when we next visit my sister in law!

Chip shop sign says it’s under new management. There is a small car park area to the left hand side as you come in past the rocking chair on the white gates.

Prior to being recently taken over by new tenants, the fish was fresh, cooked to perfection and had a lovely crispy texture, sadly I cannot say the same anymore. Very disappointing

Always great fish and chips here. Could do with later opening hours, though, to enjoy their wonderful fayre. Have been disappointed to find them closed when visiting in late evening.

We were motoring back from West Wales to West Sussex back in July and were feeling a bit peckish for a late fish & chip lunch. As we entered the town of Craven Arms we passed the Route 49 fish & chip shop on the left. I made a nifty U turn and parked in front of the shop on the gravel by the road.

Absolutely brilliant. I am very fussy with battered fish, if it is greasy or soggy I won't touch it. I often have to leave it as it gets soggy after a while as I'm a slow eater. However this fish bar did it perfectly, crispy all around, and stayed crispy so I could enjoy it slowly, loads of flavour. I couldn't recommend this place more. Good quality food, Friendly staff Great value Highly recommend. Thank you
