We decided to try somewhere new for dinner wish we hadn't bothered waited ages for dinner it came plate red hot food cold we had traditional Sunday roast but was told no yorkshire so got some roast potatoes (extra charge) my husband had turkey ( processed ) he left it along with he's instant mash 1piece of cold broccoli n peas and 1 piece of parsnip no stuffing as advertised he also had to use my gravey as there was no gravey tub on hes I ate some of mine being diabetic I had to eat otherwise we wud av left it all won't be going bk

Pub food was nice. Place was clean. My only complaint was our drinks took 30 minutes to arrive on our table. Then I had to ask for our drinks. Apart from that, everything was fine.

We popped in yesterday afternoon after driving past whilst looking for somewhere to eat, I regret deciding to turn round and pop in. There were two staff members behind the bar, we weren’t greeted by them but sat down and ordered through the app. The drinks arrived quickly, the starters soon followed after and they were lovely. Then the mains came out, my partner enjoyed his meal but I didn’t enjoy mine one bit. Both of our chips were covered in black burnt bits which I can only assume came from a grill or fryer, my fish was like charcoal. So burnt and once I’d cut it open it looked in horrible condition. I would have mentioned it to a member of staff but nobody checked on us during our main meal and there wasn’t a staff member in sight on the floor or behind the bar. I won’t be back.

Have been here before, and the food was good, but not this time was awful for cheese burger with no cheese and salad was limp and just thrown on, The chips were overcooked and scrappy. the other meal, one piece of chicken was dry and over cooked, the other was under cooked, and the chips were the same, staff never ask if the food was OK just ignored us

Not enough staff, bar left unattended until several people were waiting to order.

Had a great meal 2 for 12 pounds

Only had the Thursday BOGOF burger. Should have been a cheese n bacon burger. Sadly no bacon at all on one of them and only the tiniest piece on the other. Didn't complain because of the price but will if it happens again.

Found this place a little on the unwelcoming side. Didn't stay long. Friendly bar staff all the same.

Really dissatisfied with our meal tonight. Partners daughter was visiting from Lincoln, after a busy day we decided to eat out. We ordered via the app, we ordered & paid for ours, the daughter ordered and paid for her own.Drinks all arrived in order and served together, my partner and myself were then served our food, but the daughters didn't arrive, we waited and waited no staff came to check if things were alright food still hadn't arrived 35 minutes later. Partner went to bar to see what was going on. A further 15/20 minutes of waiting finally the missing food arrived, however by now we had finished ours and she had waited so long she didn't really feel hungry any more. No apology, the only reason was Apparently down to the app. Despite the fact that our drinks order was fine. Really not happy at all!

Not enough staff at the bar. I'm disabled and was standing up in the queue for 30 minutes! Staff were not friendly and quite rude. They also got our food order wrong. I will not be return there anytime soon.

Stopped here for some quick lunch with the mrs. Food was obviously frozen stock and the server looked flabbergasted when we asked for some sauce and cutlery. Won’t be going again, cheers.

I have visited a few times and I have noticed that over my last few visits it has been slowly getting worse. Unfortunately today our food was cold or barely warm and seemingly undercooked. Such a shame really. The staff were lovely and friendly and would give them a higher rating if it wasn't for a few small things including the waiter putting our knifes on the table directly in front of our 11 month old 🙈. I will say that mu daughter had the steak enjoyed it. I didn't feedback to the staff as they seemed to be a few complaints already and I didn't want the hassle to spoil our lovely day out we had just had x

Got the flatbreads and omg they are amazing, peri peri chicken and a steak 1, my new favourite thing, you can add chips to make it a meal. There's a new kofta flat bread, garlic mushrooms are back, and the gammon is always delicious

Rude manageress called Lisa asked in a condescending manner to ‘verify I had a child under 16’ with me when I ordered a meal from the kids menu. This is after taking ages servings other customers. We had come out for a family meal with my youngest (3) and my girlfriend and her daughter (17) and were also ordering 3 adult meals as well as beverages. To say I was not impressed is an understatement as I have never had any issues in here before, and have spent a fair bit eating and drinking here. Will not be returning. Cheeky and rude (Edit - foot flow has nothing to do do with the ridiculous and stupid questioning of our child meal order Roundhay! As you well know! )

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Management need to learn a thing or two about manners and how to treat customers. Visited this afternoon with my little boy expecting a lovely lunch after work. Never seen a restaurant quieter and my god it reflects on the woman who was stood like lady muck behind the bar. Refused to serve me a drink or food due to accusing my friends of smoking in the car park (way before i got there may i add). Refused service. Manners absolutely shocking. I have never ever been tret or spoke to like this anywhere. Had to walk out and find an alternative restaurant to go have dinner. I will forever spread the word to family and friends about this horrible stinking place. The woman manager behind the bar needs to learn some respect. Make no wonder we were the only people in there. What a disgrace of a place and a poor excuse of staff.

Me and my mate had to wait for our deserts for an hour. When I got to the till to complain the guy asked another worker to go into kitchen and they brought it out so it was obviously just sat there the whole time. My own fault I should have asked for my money back. Won’t be making that mistake again

So me and my partner decided to go to this pub why did I bother should have stayed at home I had all day breakfast sausage cooked eggs one cooked one not tomato barley cooked chips some cooked most not my partner hunters chicken was cooked her chips look sad if I passed them in the street I would give them some money felt that sorry for them cheesy chips not very nice at the young lady that served us top marks I got a whiskey had been watered down than to top things of a manager was telling staff that come fathers day we will get cheap wine steam of labels change them for fathers day and charge £2 more for them shame on u 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

We decided to go to The Roundhay to try their new menu, we usually enjoy going for a meal out with the kids once in a while and this is usually our go to pub. Today was different, we ordered table service on the app as we usually would but waited over half an hour just for drinks, I went to the bar for the person serving me to say he had forgotten to make our drinks order. After that our food order arrived, I ordered the new chicken and rib combo that’s supposed to come with half a flame grilled chicken and half a rack of ribs but I was disappointed to realise that they had given me maybe a quarter rack of ribs and a chicken leg that had never seen a flame in its life. Although the meal did taste nice the portion description is definitely false advertised. My partner ordered a ribeye steak (usually a prime cut of beef) cooked rare but when it tuned up it was more medium-well cooked and the vast majority of it fat and chewy. Overall very disappointed with tonight’s tea.

First of all, the lady behind the bar today was faultless. My experience with the food was terrible. It took them 3 times to get my order correct by which time everyone else with us had finished their food. When it eventually arrived in a takeaway box, the chips were cold and covered in black flecks, a sure sign that the cooking oil hadn't been changed since Noah was in shorts. I don't understand how a member of kitchen staff cannot read an instruction clearly. But then again, if you pay peanuts....... Won't be back and I suggest you don't go either.

Just visited food was excellent mixed grill spot on .fish and chips lovely cooked to perfection. Its a lovely place to visit. Excellent staff welcoming .thankyou

It's a more than wonderful, fun place. It has everything I want to do, for a walk, sports games, children's toys, and everything I think about, I find. They have it. It's really wonderful. Don't miss out on you, your children, and your friends. The opportunity for everyone in this place.

Awful mixed grill. I usually get this and always decent. This time, the Gammon under cooked and raw in parts. Asked for medium steak and it was raw. Chicken well over done. Disappointed. Will stick to Kirkstall greene kimg for food.

Staff are rude and show no remorse for their own errors. This is mine and my partners first time in this establishment and it will be our last. They have the option to order through the Greene King app which my partner and I thought was ideal, but after our drinks and snacks not arriving after 30 minutes it was clear it was not. My partner went to the bar to see what was going on to be greeted with rudeness and a lack of a simple apology for the mistake. Additionally, whilst my partner was showing the bar staff the order on the app on my phone he had placed it on the to which the bar staff decided to pick up the phone without permission or without politely asking if they can pick it up - very unprofessional. Following this, after an enquiry about using the pool table we were greeted yet again with the same rudeness which in the end led us to be feeling rather annoyed so we decided to quickly finish our drinks and leave. We sought a quick few drinks and were left feeling rather fed up. The only positive side was that they show premier league football.

Marked food down didn’t have any so can’t say. Service was good staff friendly. Standard flaming grill pub little run down and toilets need a serious face lift

Quiet night, karaoke just starting as we'd finished, not a fan of it but it's entertainment for some. Good food, lovely friendly staff, will go again

Food presentation was there and the portions size was good but the flavour didn't exist. We had to sit there with plates on our tables from the starters and then they placed our mains in-between them and left them there. So we ate with dirty plates around us, there was about 10 of us. I had the physically go up and ask for some room on our tables to order desserts for our littles.

Not been in for years but it actually really nice .

It was a surprising visit. I had not been since before lock down . People had said it had gone down hill, but I'm glad to say was impressed. It was a family gathering of 9. No one had a bad thing to say about the food service and venue. Very reasonable prices and a good selection of larger , beers and wine , a good food menu to choose from also . I will definitely be going again over the festive period as its within a 10 minute walk for me 👍🏾

Talk about sneaking the prices up, every time we go in there the beers are up another 10p, no wonder we havent been for ages. Much cheaper options available. I saw someone had commented on here about strongbow going up to £3.05, its now 4 quid, and the Peroni is also just under 6 quid a pint!

Nice old pub. Good atmosphere. Pool table available but a bit tight for space around it. A bit too hot for me inside.

On my way to Elland Road, popped in for a pint.. Cracking pub, Alex was great.. shame he seemed to support some small Sheffield club.. Will be back next Matchday!

Had the most amazing night out tonight. As a mum of 6 don't get out very often. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Food was amazing and copious. Definitely be back soon x

DONT FORGET THE GRAVEY! Arrived very early doors at 1115 on a wet Tuesday morning. On Google stated it opens at 1130. That's OK. we had a chilled out wait until it was time to order at 1130. NO, you can't order as the kitchen is closed! We asked why but did not get a satisfactory answer. Then, after waiting another 10 minutes, we were told we could not order because delivery had arrived. I guess it's my fault for picking this occasion. Finally, after waiting nearly 30 min, we were able to place an order. The food finally arrived at 1230 an hour to wait for what is essentially heated up food. I order stake and ale pie with extra gravey. To be fair, the pie was very well put together. The ensemble of peas and chips were poor but ok. But the supporting act was a letdown or more of a lack of (gravy boat). THE EXTRA GRAVY NEVER ARRIVED. I asked the waiter to bring the gravey. AS IT WAS ORDERED. I might add that the greavy was given to us at no extra charge due to the unreasonable wait. It's still never arrived. No one should try to eat a dry meal. There should not be an option to have extra gravy. There should just be gravy with the meal. The meal should always be served with a jug of gravy. The extra bit is if you want gravy on top of gravy. This is beyond incompetence and against all culinary law. NEVER SERVE PIE WITHOUT GRAVY. HEATHENS. This place has decent, competitive, priced meals, but the service and management are so diabolical that it really is a shame. Massive letdown. We were so delayed in our time waiting for the food that we had to rush off without making complaints. Update: 08/02/23 It's been a week since my review, and the owners/management have made a comment and reached out to contact them. I have contacted them, but it's gone deadly silent. It seams they do read these and make comments in return like "Oh, I'm so sorry you had a bad experience." That's it. That's all they do.

It's a place with very friendly staff where we had good food and drinks served by staff who were keen to check that we were satisfied with our orders and that everything was ok. The menu was typical of pub food but it was really tasty, and I was most impressed with their nicely presented side salad. I would certainly recommend the Roundhay for a nice meal in a most relaxing atmosphere.

A great pub, with a nice family atmosphere. Disabled access to the upper level is none existent. And it would definitely benefit from having a child's play area, outside/ inside. Overall a nice place to visit for a pint and food.

I have been coming here now for going on 2 years, I have always had a warm welcome from the staff, The beer is always on point and well chilled which is very important to me. The food is great evertime I eat here, and the place is always clean and tidy, My partner and her mother come here on a regular basis and always enjoy, The prices are very reasonable and good quality. It's also Dog & Cat friendly. Big shout out to Lisa & Charlotte who always go the extra mile, and the rest of the hard working staff.

Was going to visit today after phoning to ask it they were dog friendly which they are ,but before the lady put the phone down I heard her say I hate dogs so for that reason I didn't go hence the 2*.

We were in the roundhay all afternoon after attending a funeral and was looked after by Chris who couldn’t do enough for us. Superb service.

Over an hour for food to arrive, food was over cooked and poor quality. Waitress huffed at us when we asked for our missing items. Won’t eat here again.

Called in for a meal with family members clean pub but that’s the only positive. Ordering food took forever then when food arrived the order was different from what was ordered ,start again and yes food took forever again,when the corrected order came food was cold and couldn’t complaine no staff or manager(very elusive) monies we had paid didn’t justify the bad food served VERY POOR PUB VERY BAD SERVICE AWFUL FOOD DONT EAT HERE

12-May-2018, I would give zero stars if I could, unhelpful staff. I unknowingly put my money in one of the pool tables only to find there was no white ball no signs anywhere and was told no refunds, I said there should be signs up stating it's out of order and I was told to do one by one member of staff as it's company policy no refunds, I won't be going here again. I've not been in this pub since 2018 I wonder if it's changed at all.

Initially popped in to use the bathroom and have a quick drink but the atmosphere was so warm and friendly, we decided to stay and get something to eat. Charlotte served us - she was polite, friendly and helpful. We ordered burgers from their bogof deal and they were delicious as well as great value for money Lucy came to clear our table and she too was friendly, polite and helpful. - Lovely staff! I'll definitely go in again .

We went to see our son and daughter in law they took us for a meal ,the meals are so lovely 😍. I would recommend this place give it a try.

Pleasant atmosphere. We have not visited for a while. Not too busy. Loads of empty seats. The bar was very busy. We ordered on the app. Waited about 45 mins for food. Many complaints from customers noted re waiting times for food. Our drinks arrived when our food was finished. Food was tasty, although the menu is VERY limited for my vegan/vegetarian diet. The ladies serving the food were very polite and efficient and did apologise numerous times for the waiting periods. I almost gave up on the desert I ordered as it arrived, but it was slightly short of ingredients stated on the menu! Disappointing. I really didn't enjoy the Greene King IPA, which I normally do. Just couldn't have the heart to tell staff as they were bombarded with complaints! We witnessed refunds to customers not prepared to wait. It will be a while before we return, if at all being honest.

The hot weather directed me to the Roundhay. I had cocktails and nice and tasty burger. The service was fast and amazing. I was so impressed and well treated i stayed more time i wouldn't expect. I enjoyed myself there. Promise i will come back. ....
