Round Square Restaurant in Hackney

Was here on the first day of opening, early 10 years from now. My Local Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant with great friends, close circles, etc. The Karaoke is exhilarating for everyone every time. Good for a private dinner or with a small Party. My favourite haunt.

Well taste of Chinese traditional food, especially the soups and toufou. The price always be foldable and the food are generous.

Excellent food and great customer service. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and I am never disappointed.

Far too expensive and the food has gone down since the new owners have taken over. Unfortunately I wouldn't go again as this was like a cattle farm and they are not very polite to anyone whom isn't from their country and they were very rude in serving someone who came in 10mins after we did without any apology. The table was sticky and unclean and there is no service to speak of...

Food is delicious and the price is reasonable. I like the signature braised pork the most . The best part is the the private karaoke room , the minimum spending is only £188 , we have 10 friends, so we only spend £20 per person . Highly recommend!

The service was impeccable with attentive and friendly staff . The menu offered a diverse rang of options ,catering to different tastes and dietary. Overall ,the dining experience was delightful ,and I would definitely recommend this resturant to others . We like the braised pork,roasted duck,and seafood here .The flavors are excellent .

It has really authentic food and lovely staff. My boyfriend and I visit often and go for the sichuan options which have a lot of spice which we love. Amazing value for London, and the food is better than most offered in Chinatown.

Round Square is an amazing Chinese Restaurant, Cantonese Hong Kong style cooking at Seven Sister Road, near Finsbury Park Station. Ive been going there for the last 10 years or more with friends from my Club every week. The new friendly owner (husband and wife) took over the restaurant for the last few months. New Decor updated and Karaoke rooms as well. The new chief has created a fabulous tasty menu which I like even better. Roast duck, pork and chicken etc... Sweet and sour spare rub is my favourite. Too many delicious dishes to mention here, need to try them to believe it. The price is also very reasonable with good service compare to China Town. Food Hygiene rating 5 Stars which it is very important to any customers. Great for party celebration! Take away is welcome. To me it is worth 5 stars.

I tried this restaurant for the first time and after eating I can honestly say I won't be ordering from another place again. The portion size was plentiful, and more importantly and surprisingly, the flavour was rich and delicious. I'm so impressed!! I have so much left over for the next day! Duck was amazingly tender, and the noodles not too greasy. Delivery driver was kind and made effort to reach my address as quick as possible. Thanks!

Literally ordered 4 items and only 1 of them were edible. The vegetable spring rolls were all burnt. The mixed dim sum had a big rock hard piece in one of them. The bbq sauce was the mostly sickly sweet syrup going. Honestly horrible & I never leave bad reviews. Didn’t call to complain as I didn’t want them to offer to send new ones after it all being like that.

Food was really nice, enjoyed it. I’m looking at receipt, didn’t understand why they added a service charge of 50p for handing me the food late, I had to wait past time advises and charged for plastic bag too, but didn’t ask me? I had a bag I could have used myself.

Worst food of my life, they took crispy pork belly too literally and made it into literal crisps ! I almost lost a molar eating it. Tasteless garbage. The quality has really gone downhill. They left my food outside and claimed to have called me I had no phone calls or app updates and my food was left outside to be eaten by foxes I called to tell them this was unacceptable and they hung up on me

The delivery driver was lovely the food was good quality but the restaurant sent the wrong food which I can understand however they were very unapologetic and quite short over the phone. They also suggested that they will pick up the food I had opened and redeliver to someone else which seemed a little off.

First time I have ordered from here, as I don't usually buy takeaway. Crispy seaweed delicious and the duck. I would definitely recommend and order again. I was also given complimentary prawn crackers, I was to full to try them. Delivery driver was lovely and so polite. Had no cash to give him, as he came out on a cold snowy evening. Much appreciated. This is the second time we have ordered from here and it’s come late. It’s only a 10 minute drive, maybe even less yet the food takes 30 + minutes to arrive

Fresh tasty food. Rice was lovely and clean. Chow main was gooooooddddd. But the chicken balls. They was out this world with the batter having a slight doughnut taste. 1st time ordering will defo go back. 1 slight critique the curry sauce tastes exactly like the pot you can get in shop and 1 more thing there in house sweet and sour is popping

The restaurant service, I rate 0/10, as I witnessed the delivery driver take my order from the CAR BOOT?? 😱 THIS IS VERY UNHEALTHY AND UNHYGIENIC, JUST EAT / ROUND SQUARE☠ As it wasn't even taken out of an INSULATED 'JUST EAT' FOOD BAG? Rating the food. The Honey Roast Pork (Char Siu) With Crispy Noodles, I rate -5/10. Usually rating it a 8 or 9/10. But the Crispy Noodles were flavourless, "watery"? and soft?👅 The Special Fried Rice, I rate 8/10, as usual👌👏 I will now ONLY RECOMMEND you try the Special Fried Rice👍

As usual delivery took over an hour. Placed order approximately 6:10pm. Delivered approximately 7:20pm. The usual (delivery) driver greeted me with "hi"/"cheers"/"thank you" & "bye-bye". Very courteous. Despite on the mobile phone talking loudly on the Road? And had trouble opening the gate? Then left the gate open on exit. Rating the food. The Special Fried Rice, I rate 8/10. And the Honey Roast Pork Char Siu with Crispy Noodles, I rate 9/10. Noteing the Crispy Noodles was slightly 'salty'? But the Honey Roast Pork Char Siu, tasted amazing, especially as I requested extra Honey and the Pork was fresh and tender.

Our meal was delicious the egg fried rice nice and fluffy the spare ribs comes off the bone the beef was succulent this is going to have to be our regular take away will forward this restaurant to family and friends.

I think I need to be banned from ordering from here. The food is amazing as always I had the crispy pork belly with special fried rice with a side of the broccoli in garlic sauce. The portions sizes are great and good value for money.

First time trying this place & food was really nice. Quality, delivery & flavours were on point. Would just like to suggest maybe if they would put more sauce in the chicken curry that would be nice, as it was only enough sauce (curry) for 1 person however it’s a portion for 2 so just wasn’t enough sauce. We will be ordering again soon.

Have ordered from here quite a few times, latest order was excellent as usual. Food tastes amazing and arrived hot and the portion sizes are generous.

Ordered the Mixed Meat & Vegetables With Crispy Noodles, £7.95. It had no salt, no pepper, no chillies, no light soy sauce or dark soy sauce. It had no taste? And had no seasoning? It was unflavoured ? I rate it 5/10. I rate the Special Fried Rice 5/10. And rate the Home Made BBQ Sauce 8/10. And the delivery driver I rate 9/10.

The Special Fried Rice was nice and traditional tasting. The Honey Roast Pork (Char Siu) with Crispy Noodles, was nice, as the Pork was nicely garnished/cooked in honey. But the noodles only seemed 95% cooked. And the Homemade BBQ sauce, I did not receive?

Nice food but my noodles were cold.

Had to wait for 1.5 hours for the food and the quality was poor. The sweet and sour chicken was dry and chewy once I got through the moisture of the sauce, I could not swallow it. I personally would not order from here again.

Every order delivered, has been delivered kindly and professionally. Containers are very large in sizes. Special Friend Rice is very delicious, with excellent chicken, shrimps & pork, to rice ratio, evenly balanced. Very reminiscent of the Chinese Takeaways from the early 80s.

The delivery app didn’t update at all about the delivery time. So I received a phone call from the delivery guy who had a bad attitude with me saying he was waiting at the door. At the time there was a fire alarm going off so if he really had been at the door ringing the bell then I wouldn’t of heard it anyway. I answered the door and he complained to me that he was waiting. There was no update on the delivery app at it was still saying that my order was confirmed but hadn’t left yet. There was no need for the bad attitude and I won’t be ordering from them again. It’s a shame as this was a regular takeaway for me.

Spend £30 every week at this restaurant. Tonight the chips came and they was not cooked. They were still half frozen. Too hard to chew on due to how hard they were. I usually recommend this restaurant but after letting them know about the chips not being cooked, the customer service was appalling. Please check their food is cooked thoroughly because they won't care. They will not take responsibility for their food. Am disgusted with how much they didn't care

King prawns were well over cooked like eating rubber. Was not happy at with this kingprawn chowmain. Norm very good from here but this order 1/10

The meat was not good quality at all. I'm not sure what meat it was but it was mostly fat and the ribs had no bones either so not convinced they were actually ribs. I just threw them away.

Once again the meal was exquisite the The barbecue ribs fell off the bone it was delicious like I said I would Recommend to family and friends are most enjoyable

We ordered well before the shop was opened which were impressed with the order information. Even though the meal wasn’t in an insulin bag it came very hot once again we where so so impressed the capital ribs was amazing the meat was just coming off the bone. My friend had taken a menu leaflet and will be showing her family and friends. To end this we will be your regular customers for life lol

Not the same everything tasted different serving the crispy pork belly on rice makes it to dry and you loose the beautiful flavour of the sauce same with the char siu we hope this is just a one off because we have never had a bad meal before and we have been regulars for years

I am of Chinese heritage and have knowledge of Cantonese cooking having been a restaurateur in the past. I ordered steamed sea bass with ginger and spring onions whci was superb. The Honey roast pork and beef iwith peppers and black bean very good. The crispy belly pork flavour was good but wasn't crispy due to it being soaked in a sauce and in a sealed takeaway box. From my point of view I would have it better served in a paper bag that can breathe allowing the crispiness to be retained.

Food ordered at half 7, got delivered at 20 past 9. Prawn starter was good but everything else was meh

Cold food, late and wrong order !

My search for a good Chinese takeout is finally over! Had summer rolls, dim sum, fried rice and lemon chicken, all of which were perfectly delicious and not overly greasy or salty!

The service at this restaurant was horrendous. I ordered food at 8.30pm and received a confirmation email claiming my food would be delivered at 9.45pm, annoyingly long but at least I know. At 10pm I had not received my food or even a phone call/text/email to say it would be late. Called the restaurant several times but there was no answer. Used the just eat site to find out when my food would be delivered and was told a new time of 10.30pm and was also told I was able to get a refund due to the delay. At 10.52pm my food finally turned up. TWO HOURS after delivery time. What makes it worse was that the food was incredibly cold and I was told today that I would not be receiving any sort of refund. Terrible service, terrible attitude, will NOT be ordering from here again and advise everyone to stay clear unless you're willing to eat sub par food hours after ordering
