Rouhi Persian Cuisine in Sandwell

I’m a member of a lunch club who meet once a month in the area. The wonderful team at Rouhi opened for us especially at lunchtime which was much appreciated as they usually open for the evenings and weekends. We were treated to a selection of dishes to share from across the menu, with plenty of vegetarian options available to me and another veggie in our group. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and we were very well looked after! I’ll definitely be booking in with another group of friends for dinner soon!

Beautiful food, friendly service and a really memorable experience. The food was just so tasty. Glorious flavours and deliciously fragrant. Adored the pomegranate chicken and the King of Persia too! To be fair it was all delicious…the meat with the mixed kebabs was so tender!!! Will definitely be going back asap!!!

We were looking for a Persian restaurant on drive from Edinburgh to London and came across Rouhi Restaurant and considering I don't know anywhere in Birmingham, I was skeptical but OMG they did not disappoint. Excellent food.We had King of Persia (Ghormeh Sabzi ) and mixed tikkeh, which was grilled to perfection. You must try their wings. Authentic Iranian food ♡

Authentic Iranian cuisine. Family run business. Nice layout and has a discrete shisha lounge round the back. Great service, Tanush is a great guy.

What an amazing restaurant experience. The food was delicious. Stuffed vine leaves such a party in your mouth. The lamb kebab and steak so succulent. The play of herbs and spices in all the dishes makes me think this chef knows his onions and mint and pomegranate. The interior is also really nicely done with a mixture of brick and wood and incredibly clean. If you are in the area a visit is a must!

The food was amazing, I’m Iranian myself but I have never been to any Iranian restaurants here with such a good quality. The food was so fresh and the owners were lovely ❤️ I will sure be back

Tender meat, fluffy rice, fresh bread and salad, and a cozy restaurant, if you want to experience the real persian food, this a best place in Birmingham with very reasonable prices. Highly recommended

Amazing Persian food made with love! I have been here a few times now and thought I must leave a review. A wide variety of options and choices, we ordered quite a selection seeing as there were a lot of us. For starters we got the cold mezze platter and the hot mezze platter with the chefs top recommendations to which they brought out a variety of delicious platters with hot homemade bread. I loved the aubergine ones the most with the salad olivieh. We ordered lamb chops, sour lamb shish, lamb fillet steak, King of Persia, pomegranate chicken, grilled sea bass and sea bream. One of our friends didn't fancy Persian and ordered the cheeseburger with fries. The food took a little while to be prepared but when it did it was honestly so good! Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! The lamb chops and the sour lamb fillet were two of my favourites, the lamb was so perfectly tender and juicy cooked with pomegranate, walnuts and infused with herbs. Amazing!!! After our food we got some persian tea with baklava and tried some ice cream too. Top marks and highly recommended for anyone who fancies Mediterranean or Persian food.

Iranian hospitality at it’s best. Authentic Persia. Cuisine that was freshly prepared and was delicious. Excellent service and atmosphere. We will come back with friends.

Poor service .not take responsibility for messing up my order ,half of my order was what they decided to deliver due to availability issue for what we ordered originally. I tried to get in touch but have had no respond which I found it very rude and unprofessional. Quality of food for what they delivered was poor ,most of them gone straight to bin as they were not good enough to eat.

Absolutely fantastic food. We had Baba ganoush, falafel and a mixed grill for 4. The mixed grill is huge! Best ganoush I've ever had and quality falafel. Complimentary sides were a surprise. Very generous and really friendly service. We also had a pot of speciality tea which was lovely.

Had a lovely dinner. Lovely mixed grills flat breads and dips. Service was good. Really good value for money. Definitely abit of a hidden gem in Bearwood. Will definitely revisit again.

We ate at Rouhi on the 30th June 2022. The food was incredible. Plentiful and so tasty. Lots of fresh herbs and vegetables. Great vegetarian and meat choices alike. We have leftovers taken home for today. This restaurant deserves to be visited and you will not be disappointed.

Visited for my wife's birthday, with the children. I found this place on Google and thought to give it a try. We ordered a couple of starters which were an excellent portion, a set meal for two which was plentiful especially as the children don't really eat much, and finished with a pot of mint tea. It all tasted lovely, we enjoyed it, and it was great value for money.

Lovely food, great value for money. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Would come here again. Definitely worth a visit.

The award for most tasteless and terrible kebab goes to this restaurant. Visited this restaurant last night and ordered two mix grills each at the price of £35 (£70 total) which stated it’s for two people and it was 3 of us. The restaurant was not busy at all and only had two other table occupant who already had their food and many free tables. Therefore, there were no need wait 17 minutes to come and take our orders. Once the waitress came, her attitude reeked of “I really hate my job and hate customers”. I asked “if there would be a possibility for one of the mix grills to come with lamb fillet kebab instead of lamb cubes, considering both of them are same price (£17) and was told no, I have to order that separately. The could rub customers of few lamb and chicken cube but probably couldn’t do it with lamb fillet! Therefore, I just ordered the two mix grills and she replied “that’s too much food, order something else”. I was shocked that someone is telling me in a dismissive attitude making us feel like that’s too much food and the chefs can not be bothered to cook it. I had to reassure her that whatever is left over, I will take it. For drinks, we asked for a jug of dough and was told they don’t have any left. I don’t understand how they don’t have any left when they are not even busy. I believe if I asked for a glass of dough (jug and glass were both £2), they would have had that, but because the jug was same price as glass, they didn’t wanted to serve that. When the food arrived, it looked like the chefs and staff dined in our mixed grills before serving us, as the lamb cubes and chicken fillet skewers were so small or they probably thought that’s too much food for them, let’s take some cubes out. So let me break it down for you, for £35 you will get two falsely advertised saffron rice (they used food colouring, rather than saffron), 10 chicken wings, 3 small cubes ( 5cm) chicken fillet, 3 small lamb cubes (5 cm) and two skewers of kebab and with salad. I wished at least it was tasty. It was tasteless, bland, dry and no seasoning or salt, what kind of chef forgets to use salt? Food was drier than Gandhi’s flip-flops! They tried to compensate the dryness by adding tons of sunflower oil! Not even butter and what kind of Persian place serves kebab without butter on the side or sumac?! Well I guess Rouhi restaurant does! Asked the waitress for SALAD sauce and after 5 minutes, she came back with garlic mayo and chilli. So I repeated myself and asked for salad sauce as neither of those were for salad and was told they don’t have salad sauce either. Please let me remind you, this restaurant was not busy. Then again, what do you expect from a restaurant that is set fail very soon. I didn’t even finish my food yet, the waitress came over and told us she’s going to bring take away boxes. That’s rude and you can’t rush customers like that. Then again, what do you expect when the owner is too busy entertaining female customers and enjoying himself, the chefs are chilling (can not blame them as there were no customer to serve) and the waitress is sitting behind the till doing absolutely nothing. She could have just polished the glasses or try to read a book about how to provide a good customers service. For dessert we were served complementary what was supposed to be SAFFRON rice pudding, then again it was rice pudding with food colouring. Which I didn’t even bother to try it and neither did my family like it. Now let’s concentrate on the hygiene of this restaurant. Floors were so slippery that I almost fell. The 3 glasses which they brought out to us, had all sort of finger print, lipstick and had water marks on them from previous use. Considering how terrible the service was, we didn’t ask for new glasses and did not use those either. If you are charging £2 for a can of coke which is 70p normally, please at least bring a clean glass or straw. We also didn’t ask for anything else just in case they said they ran out of it including glass. Note to the restaurant; 1) please stop false advertising 2) train your staff 3) stop scamming customers 4) concentrate on hygiene before birmingham council pays a visit 5) stop lying to the customers

Best persian food. I never leave dissapointed or hungry from here as the portions are really large, service is lovely and attentive, and the terrace is so peaceful that after a busy and noisy day at work is exactly what i need. Their shisha is also one of the best. And their iranian tea my favourite ever. Must try!

I visited this restaurant twice in one week with family and friends. Excellent food. Generous portions and food was very well presented. You could bring your own wine. I recommend the salads, chicken dishes and hot mezze. Calm, friendly atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.

A colourful and generous meal. Nice hosts and good atmosphere with Persian background music. Chicken and lamb juicy, salad fresh and naan delicious. Definitely one to try out.

Very expensive and the quality, portion sizes and service were quite disappointing and poor for that price I thought . Best thing on the meal was probably the fresh orange juice. Not what I expected at all unfortunately.. Could be much better!

Some friends and I tried this restaurant last week and had an excellent experience. The service was great and the food lovely. Be warned that the portion sizes are enormous. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.
