Walked past here on the way to somewhere else so made a point to stop in on the way back with my girlfriend and our daughter. Ended up buying a rake of food. Steak, black pudding and peppercorn sauce pies, full of steak and not fat or chuck meat, decent steak meat, beautiful. Lasagne pies and the macaroni pies were also decent. Got some brownie sundae things, some banoffee pudding pie, some trifle, mars bar cake, caramel chocolate shortcake and empire biscuits. Brilliant. The guy serving took an interest to where I was from and was helpful and friendly. I would recommend going in here even if just for a look but temptation will probably get the better of you, strawberry tarts looked fantastic but I had ordered enough by the time I got to them. Just seen they also deliver which is good to know! Glad we stopped in. Keep up the good work!

If you haven’t been to this baker then you should go. The selection of food available is vast and the quality is amazing. I had stovies which I love and I have to say they were the best I’ve tasted… a gem of a baker in central Aberdeen.

Their Tipsy Cake is amazing! It's also the place to go to for traditional real Rowies. Friendly service and great food.

Was staying at a hotel in Chapel Street and heard Ross’s was where to go for a pie. Stopped in on a wet Saturday afternoon. Ordered a mince pie and a steak and gravy pie. They were heated up for us to take back to the hotel to enjoy hot. My husband said the Steak and Gravy was good but I think I won as the Mince Pie was delish...so much so that we went back out later for another! Also picked up a strawberry tart which was lovely too. I can see why this is a popular place on a Friday and Saturday night on the way home from a night out. As the saying goes say aye tae a pie and in this case a Ross’s pie.

I saw that they hd a new pie making machine in the local press and paid them a visit for the first time in ages. I was very impressed by the cleanliness and modern look of the shop. The food was excellent, much better than what you get from big chain bakeries.

Use be the worst butteries in Aberdeen. Something about them making them sweet and not at all salty. A chewy inside which is nothing like I have ever had in my life. Certainly won’t be going there for anything else.

Not as good as it used to be. Ross’s on Chapel Street used to be by far and away the best bakers in Aberdeen. Their steak pies were to die for. Went for the first time in a year or so. Unfortunately not as good as it used to be. Steak pie and chips. Steak pies now come in a metal container which the pastry was sticking to. So very difficult and messy to eat. Gravy wasn’t the same as before. Less steak chunk than before. £2 for a steak pie was reasonable. The chips were the tiniest portion of chips ever. I was charged £2.20 for them. Lucky if there were a dozen chips. Very poor value. Shop has been recently done up and is a pleasant shopping environment. Cakes look good which I will try sometime. But I wouldn’t recommended for the hot food.

Went in for a sausage butty and was concerned to see the whole thing, bap n all go into the micro. The end result was an over-heated and quite chewy breakfast roll. I had it anyway as was pretty hungry, but wouldn't go back.

I used to have a flat just adjacent to this shop, and on more than one night was tempted down for a supper pie or a bacon roll as they re-opened to feed the late-night revellers. Fortunately my flat was to the rear of the building, as it draws a fair crowd between midnight and two am busy nights, especially summer time when the weather alloows standing outside to eat. Away from the nighttime, they do lovely pies, cakes and various types of breads, all made fresh and delicious.

Their scones are really good as are the macaroni pies. They taste even better at 2am after a night out. Haven't tried any of their cakes but they look nice. It's always well-stocked with everything you'd want a bakers to sell.

Fantastic bakery in the heart of the city, open 24 hours. Lovely local cakes (banoffee tart?) but don't miss local delicacies. I'm what they'd call a 'Weegie' (rom Glasgow in the central belt. I saw a 'mince and mealie pie' under the counter (see pic)...
