Popped into here for lunch whilst visiting parents in Hoylake - so glad we did: Great welcome, Lovely, well cooked food - just what we wanted: tasty, satisfying but light. Mum and I had omelettes and dad had scouse, followed by cakes, and a huge pot of loose leaf tea with additional hot water offered immediately we’d poured the first 3 cups. Although long time Hoylake residents this was the first time my parents had visited Rosie Lea Tea Room, but I’m sure they will make it a regular stop from now on - as many of the other customers clearly already do - and I’ll be back too, next time I’m in Hoylake.

Visited with a friend for a late lunch and we were served by a friendly lady. Enjoyed the cosy atmosphere and looking at the old photos and memorabilia. Scouse was rather too watery for my taste but otherwise food was hot and quite acceptable.

A little gem. Perfectly imperfect. Staff knew ingredients and very helpful. I go into many national chains who have started putting formal signs in the toilets. These choose the photo. Smart.

I love this little cafe and think it is the best in Hoylake, the food is great but what has me coming back is the warm welcome you get. The ladies always make time to get to know their customers, you are made to feel so welcome, it makes you feel a part of the village.

We tried this cafe for the first time on a day trip around The Wirral and found it was a great choice. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, even the other customers there were friendly! We had very nice lunch of mushroom and goat's cheese omelette for me (yummy) and cheese on toast with pea and ham soup for hubby - very tasty he said. We finished off with banana cake each, also very good, moist and light. We would recommend this cafe to anyone, it was a really nice place to be. Decor is vintage with cups and plates like Granny used, which adds to the charm.

My husband and I happened upon this cafe, after a bracing coastal walk. I had not seen the reviews on TA, but noticed the sticker on their door. What a find! We had a tea and a cappuccino and two pieces of different homemade cakes. Everything was absolutely excellent! The lady (whom I assume was the owner) was absolutely delightful and very chatty. She is making a big effort with the cafe and it certainly shows, as there were a lot of people in. All the food we saw looked delicious and the prices were very reasonable. This cafe was a very fortunate find for us and we would recommend it wholeheartedly.

I visited this delightful tea rooms yesterday after reading other reviews. With suffering severe food allergies I just knew this was the place for me to feel comfortable to eat. I was not disappointed. I was greeted so welcoming by Sam who took the time out to sit with me and to ask about my allergies. She was genuinely interested and was determined to make my experience a happy and confident one. I had opted for a jacket potato with cheese and a simple salad. This was just as I had hoped but the exceptional bit was Sam suggesting I try a vegan scone as there was no egg and she assured me of this by showing me the allergen list. I am so pleased that I took her advice to have it with jam and clotted cream. It was delicious. This tea room is a delight with attention to detail and with staff who care about each and every customer.

First visit to Hoylake. Recommended to visit Rosie Lea by a local. Good coffee and acid free tea. We enjoyed the fruit scone and tea cake too. The staff are friendly and more than helpful, all in all a very pleasant visit to Hoylake. The breakfast looked good, and was well received by another customer. Sadly, I'll have to wait for our next visit to try one. A tea room with a yesteryear theme with recipes, signs and photos, all very interesting. I'll remember my ration book next time to get it stamped, lol. But I'm sure there's nothing on ration! Well done, we'll be back to see you on our next visit to Hoylake at end of Oct.

This small cafe is a gem in Hoylake, the atmosphere is homely, the staff very friendly and helpful, nothing is any trouble. The food is delicious and plentiful. I had a bacon and cranberry toasted sandwich complete with side salad and coleslaw, highly recommended. My husband had the toasted cheese which was huge and the bread they use is lovely. They have a good varied menu for a small cafe and the best thing they have a big choice of real tea (leaves) served in China teapots and with China cups. Prices very reasonable. More greasy spoon than vintage tea room. Coffee was terrible, flat white resembled a milky instant coffee. The cafe stank of grease, they either need to close the door to the kitchen or get and extractor fan, had to change my clothes after as the smell was so bad.

My husband arranged for us to have afternoon tea as a surprise on our wedding anniversary. The tea was delicious - finger sandwiches served with salad and coleslaw, mini cakes and scones with jam and cream. We were welcomed by the lovely Sam and Eva, who had prepared a table in the window for us, beautifully laid with tablecloth and flowers in a vase.
