My favourite little spot in Colchester, big up Baz and all the team! Love the vibe, the quirkiness and the experience. Personally my best night out in Colchester and all the people are always the right crowd! Well done Baz, Adam and all the team! You always deliver the best vibes

A cool environment to have lunch and a coffee, especially if you enjoy good music. Staff were friendly and food was delicious. I can recommend the loaded hash browns, I had the chili and my girlfriend the full English, a perfect bite for lunch. Upstairs has comfy and cosy seating ideal for a coffee and a good vinyl collection to browse.

We regularly go to Roots and Grooves, the staff are really friendly, the food is good. Love sitting upstairs on the sofa's! Coffee is great, we get take away a lot to walk through the park with. They also sell plants, vinyls and clothes.

Absolutely disgusting. Toasties dripping with grease. Couldnt eat any of it. Management were rude rude people. STAY AWAY.

We popped into this cafe during a day trip into Colchester for some shopping. I usually check out somewhere new on Tripadvisor but could see there were no reviews so far. The menu looked right up our street though so we thought we’d give it a go & it did not disappoint! We had the sourdough with avocado & added bacon & poached eggs. It was a perfect and delicious lunch. The cafe itself has a cool vibe, they also sell plants and vinyls. I was really happy to be able to buy the first ever edition of “That’s what they call music” from 1983! I wish we had a cafe like this where we live.

Excellent family pub, superb food, the kids food is also very very good. Friendly staff and reasonably priced.

Arrived at the pub at 5pm. No Moretti or Madri due to apparently running the stock down. Then went to sit at a table in the restaurant only to be told all the tables were booked and I needed to go to the other side. Sat down with no menus. Asked for a menu at the bar and waited 5 mins to be served however a regular who came up to the bar after me got served before me. Decided then not to bother with the steak meal I was going to order and left. Attitude of staff absolutely dreadful. I’ve been to the Rovers Tye on a few occasions and always enjoyed it. Perhaps it was due to being a Sunday so I will return.
