Wife and I had lovely meals here. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend visiting Roosters for a meal and drink.

Always top notch food and a excellent pint of Pedigree it may seem a little pricey but you are guaranteed quality hence the pricing we have been frequenting the place for years and its never waivered in its excellent service and quality Beautiful surroundings are a delight to be had. Thanks to all the management and hard working staff for what is always a lovely dining experience.

This place never disappoints. We love this place. The food is always lovely and even though the staff are always busy we always receive good service.

We came here as a party of 7 for my birthday. The server was nice and jokey. However the service was slow drinks took 25 minutes and food took around a hour after ordering. My streak was chewy and for the price I expected more . The server did apologise and offer me another one but at this point I was gone past being hungry. Overall it was okay but not got the vibe or food I expected from somewhere like morley hayes.

Had a meal after a game of golf, pan fried seabass, scampi and salmon was excellent.

Family meal in Roosters restaurant was very nice. The menu has a very broad selection of dishes plus there's the specials too. Everyone's meals were as requested, hot and very tasty. Absolutely brilliant.

Excellent service and great food. Only minor comment, perhaps when drinks are being ordered, offer option of ice or not in glass rather than just put ice in.

UPDATE: Since leaving this review Helen from Morley Hayes has been in touch and has taken account of the experience we had - which was unexpected. She took the time to investigate and remedied by offering some vouchers for us to try again. We are hoping it was just a bad visit and will give it another go. I have amended the service to take into account the care that has been taken since the visit. Thank you. Food is relatively expensive. They are keen to give you times that you have to give table back by but service is very slow. We was going to order deserts but gave up waiting, waited thirty minutes for a jug of water and 40 minutes for coffees. They did apologise for the wait and said they had a lot of coffee orders all at once - our advice is maybe another machine would help as its a busy place. Will probably not go back.

Went to a 90th birthday meal, and had a great time. The atmosphere was good and there was no pressure to leave. The food was delicious and we had a lovely time with family. Thank you

Asked to be moved from the table the computer assigned us as it was in a cold draft, and my father doesn't tolerate the cold, told in no uncertain terms that it wasn't possible because the system has allocated that table, despite their being 4 empty tables large enough to accommodate the 4 of us, what would it matter to move us to another table.. Seriously can people not think for themselves anymore... Computer says no....🙄 Food was nice, nothing special..

We popped into here to meet some friends who regularly play golf at this venue. We were pleasantly surprised with the stunning views from the upstairs cafe. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing a good service. Tables were available when we arrived, but they soon filled up. In warmer months, there's a splendid outside terraced area. We had drinks and a range of menu choices, including scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, a full English breakfast and panninis. All the food was excellent, and the portions were sizeable. Ensure that you are hungry before visiting! We paid £30 for 2 people. The bathrooms are clean and tidy, and there's plenty of parking on site. I don't think dogs are permitted. If you wish to use the other restaurant on site, then you will need to pre-book a table as it's incredibly popular. It was a brilliant place to visit.

Booked table 8 because there is more room because I am disabled (always request this table if possible)made the booking 10 days previous as it was our Diamond Wedding Anniversay for 4 people but was informed by a quite rude duty manager called Sally we could not have the table I tried to explain but she was not interested so we decided to leave .Thank goodness we saw the owner on the way out he sorted it for us in minutes and even gave us an anniversary card The meal was delicious so thank you Mr Andrew Allsop for saving our day from the Clarke family

A little disappointed, we were asked if we wanted the bill when we were not completely finished. We felt we were being asked to hurry.

First time there staff were good food was excellent

Great food, great service, great location. This is an excellent restaurant with a varied menu. The service is very very professional and all the dishes we tried were very tasty, well presented and a good size.

Once upon a time was amazing food. Has definitely gone downhill over the past few months along with the service that took several attempts to get 3 drinks correct. Pizza, boring and less enjoyable than a supermarket pizza. Pies, far from good, taste like these have been bought from a cheap frozen warehouse! Shame it was once incredible!

Just got back from a birthday Sunday dinner, bit disappointed with Sunday roast at £15 95, veg plate looked sparced, only very few veg spoonful at most 4 roast potatoes which were very hard, cheese cake very small, ex service though long waits inbetween courses, not as it used to be, staff so good though cud not fault .

I don't eat brocoli nor French beans nor do my friends .when it came all t h e veg was mixed not everyone likes mixed veg

arrived a few minutes early shown to table by Alex asked what we want for drinks we wantef to order before we had reached the table. staff didn't smile. drinks order taken but wasn't asked which brand of gin I would like. food was nice. ordered a curry forgot to send it with a nan which was recifed very quickly. think waiting on staff could be a bit more cheerful.

We have been eating at roosters for many years now the foods always great the staff are professional and polite. The food is always consistently good any query and the guys will sort it for you immediately. It's our go to place to eat it has been for many years and will continue to be.

Lovely food but please provide dressings for your salads!

Called in for lunch today, haven’t been for years. To start with, we had the worst lattes ever experienced. They were like warm filter coffee with milk, at best. I ordered fish, chips & mushy peas. Peas had to be sent back as they were luke warm. Got the standard “sorry about that” as a response. Nothing irritates me more than that. I think it will be many more years before we go again.

The food was OK. If I'm honest, I'm a little disappointed with the menu. Very basic. The pie was a little dry and the mash lumpy. The service was OK. It took a long time to get refills on our drinks, but it was busy.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! I booked a table for me and my partners family to celebrate my birthday however the service staff were a bunch of untrained kids. It took ages to get menus and drinks, everything arrived quite late and after getting the birthday cake out the staff told us to either leave or move to an outdoor table in the wind as they booked another party at the table for lunch and we were only allowed a 2hr slot. It was by far the worst culinary experience I have ever had and it was plain disrespectful, never coming back here.

Love this place, food always good and staff polite and attentive without being in your face. Another great meal last night.

Turned up here after our intended venue disappointed...and Rooster's saved our night out - it was great! John at the bar was very professional and friendly and after telling him of our disappointing start to the night he sorted a table for us no problem and we had good food and drink. Staff were attentive and friendly, food was great - no complaints at all! Thank you, we will be back!

My friend & I had a table booked, & we were soon shown to our table. We were not rushed to order drinks or food, but once ordered, both arrived quite promptly. We each ordered a jacket potato, which was a good size, mine came with some butter, & a pot of grated cheese, & a pot of coleslaw. It was very tasty, & just enough to satisfy the hunger pangs.!

Great place for family dinning, great food and a good selection of beers. 3 regular hand pulls and 1 changing guest.

Quick table service for our drinks starters and main meals. Good presentation and very tasty food indeed. Had a most enjoyable time.

Fab service and extremely good food

First time we'd been here for a while. A family get together for Christmas. Nice atmosphere. The place was full of similar groups. Prices had gone up quite a lot since last visit. Family had 1 chicken nuggets (child), 3 steak and ale pie. All good. 1 jacket potato with cheese. Sadly potato was cold so the cheese did not melt, so marked the food score down for this and the high prices. All in all "just ok".

We called for the Christmas Dinner...... We ordered 1 large &1 small........when it came it was like warm , just put on the plate not arranged nicely..the gravey in the boats was cold and congealed......not a very nice experience at all ...SO SO DISAPPOINTED....WILL NOT EAT THERE AGAIN.

Nice place and food was good, service not so much. Large party of 10, slow to get served with food and drinks and had to chase up the bill. There was a power cut for 20 mins or so but this is out of the restaurant's control.

Meet up with family for Sunday lunch, their first visit .They say how lucky we are to have such a great restaurant on our doorstep. Can't fault it.

Had lunch at Roosters to celebrate daughter's day 2022. It was an amazing experience overall. The menu is varied and there are the pub classics as well as Morley Hayes specials. The prices are understandable given the standard of the restaurant and the food itself. There are plenty vegan, GFO and vegetarian options available. The drinks and desserts are also available in ample quantity. There's plenty of seating space indoors and outdoors and a lovely view of the golf course from the floor to ceiling windows. The ambiance of the bar is no less than that of a £££ fine dining restaurant. And of course there’s plenty of parking spaces. The food was delicious beyond expectations. We ordered Morley Hayes special, vegan burger, Korean Style fried chicken burger and chicken kebabs for the mains and it was (lip-smackingly) delicious. The serving size is great (much more than the standard expensive restaurants). We also ordered garlic bread to go with our drinks - orange marmalade G&T, beer, lemonade and coke - which was like any homemade garlic bread. The real deal was the dessert - sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. It is our family’s tradition to order this particular dessert at every restaurant. The STP at Roosters was simply a beauty - in our top 3 list. The staff is professional, kind, and welcoming. We requested our mains to be served 1/2 hour after our drinks and they made that happen. Therefore, it was a great experience and we left with happy faces and tummies!! Definitely recommend if you want to treat yourselves.

This morning my friend and I visited Spikes bar for coffee and bacon cobs, this we have done for many years. Today the young man serving us was not very welcoming, in fact maybe rude. We ordered our food and drinks, did not offer filter coffee instead of an Americana, said machine was broke, but to me filter coffee is a good option, but did not mention it. Said the total of what we had, now in the past we have always had a tab as we very often have second drinks, I always do, his reply was he cannot do that, says he has been told not to do tabs! We sit down, he gets a tray ready with tea, tea pot, coddle milk, condiments etc and says tray ready, now I am in my 70, my friend is just getting over a bad accident in which she cracked 3 ribs, granted he would not have known that, and we had to carry our own tray, we paid up, but came away sad because we have enjoyed coming there for so many years, met some lovely staff, until today, hence my 2 star rating. Food always very good

Had lunch today in the Roosters Bar. The restaurant was very busy with the staff working tirelessly. But….we were quickly shown to our reserved table and within minutes our drinks were bought to the table and following shortly, our meal appeared. The service was brilliant. The meals were excellent. Cooked to perfection. The staff deserve a medal! They were so polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This restaurant is just the best. Highly recommended.

The food was excellent. There were plenty of staff in the restaurant however rather than being attentive to the customers they were chatting with each other which meant by the time they got to us we were unable to order a coffee let alone a sweet because of time constraints & having to get to another appointment.

Party of nine ate here this afternoon. Not impressed at all! Not busy, waited 15mins for drinks and 45mins for food order to be taken very slow service. Mediocre overpriced food.

It was my neighbors 80th birthday and we booked a table for her, I would like to say the food was excellent staff were exceptional they went way beyond even presented Christian a birthday card a excellent place to eat

Lovely place to eat, a tad on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for, I had the braised liver, I changed the mash for chips, it was delicious, the liver just fell apart and the red wine gravy was also delicious.

Lovely views food nice but we didn't get our food for an hour. Staff lovely and apologetic was busy however

I don't normally review places but the food here is so BAD and overpriced I thought the general public should be made aware. Had the sirloin steak asked for rare came medium but looking at the state of the steak glad it came medium as would suspect the cheap cut put on my plate could have never been served rare. Gamon steak fatty. Thin and cooked too quickly like a chunk of rubber...Burgers are like Iceland frozen burgers. Very very disappointing.

What has happened to this place! We went between lockdowns and sat outside and our Sunday dinner and service was good.But on Sunday September 12th we dined in the terrace which was okay.But was shown to a dirty table .It wasn't until we had ordered a girl came and gave it a quick spray and wipe down.(Not very Covid ready) We ordered the roast beef at 14.95 each.My plate came out with no cauliflower.Instead of bringing it out to me they took my dinner then returned it with the cauliflower on.The beef was awful it was not edible.It had lots of what I call sinus in it or veins.Wish I had taken photos.and the rest of the dinner wasn't worth 15pounds.We did mention it to the waitress and showed her.Then a young man came and offered us desserts or coffees on the house.We had a dessert but felt and have thought about it afterwards we should have had our money back or a reduction on the bill.We have been coming here for many years and I know lockdown has had a big impact on this industry. BUT honestly this was awful. And we won't be hurrying back.

I have to say after visiting this restaurant many times in the past I will not be returning again. The food was bland and watery . Service was poor and also one mem6of staffs personal hygiene needs addressing because she nearly put me off my food. As someone that work with the public I find this is something that need to be brought up.

We went here for my grandads birthday dinner on a Sunday evening. While the service was good from the waiters (forgetting the odd drink order but we make mistakes especially on a big table) The food was absolutely terrible especially for the price, I’m not sure if I chose a bad day to come or what. I had the buttermilk chicken starter which was around £7 and it was 3 bits of chicken and a hand full of salad with sauce in a bowl. The chicken itself was flavourless (not even salt and pepper) it was also dry and very underwhelming. For my main I had the brisket burger priced at £14 again disappointed as the bun was stale, meat was dry and sauce could not even save it, I took 2 bites and left it. Overall a disappointing experience, I don’t mind paying the premium for good food in a good place but this missed on all marks.

Food is ok but the service is horrendous. Only eat here if you want a lot of one between courses and drinks.

My partner, daughter and I came to Roosters bar and grill on Thursday 22nd July 2021 and were seated at 1730. We promptly ordered our drinks and food. Our drinks soon arrived but by 1830 there was no sign of our food. Three tables who had arrived after us had already been served their main meals. I asked the waitress when our food would arrive and was told five minutes as she said the “kitchen was up to their eyeballs”. The five minutes came and went, at which I point I cancelled the food order, paid for the drinks at 1845, and left. This was a very disappointing experience, and I won’t be returning any time soon.

A truly awful experience. Flavourless, poor quality, overpriced micro wave meals. Orders delivered incorrectly. Orders not delivered at all. Orders not placed at all. Slow, indifferent service. Finally we gave up, resentfully paid the bill and left. I think the national lockdown restrictions have served the public well in preventing this standard of catering being inflicted upon them. All good things must come to an end.

First of all, the food was great and deserving of 4 stars. However, we had to wait just over an hour for it after our order was taken. I get that the situation has changed but perhaps more staff are needed at busier times like Sunday lunchtime. I noticed also the prices have risen slightly since we last visited before first lockdown but I guess they have everywhere. People returning from the toilet have to join the main queue of people arriving which can take time and if your halfway through your meal, it may get cold - not ideal. Overall, staff were very friendly and helpful and I shall be returning but only when all covid restrictions are lifted.

What an excellent experience last night. Not only has the bar been set up wonderfully, beautiful surroundings and warm enough to remove your coat. The food was absolutely deliciosly cooked, Full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The cream on the top was the outstanding customer service from all the staff, polite, cheerful and attentive. I have to mention Andrew our waiter outstanding doesn’t go far enough, absolutely top notch. We will definitely be back.

We have visited three times in October, it is very well run safely wise. The food is always very good.

Due to covid rules we had to sit outside ( shame not everyone was following the rules) we had wrapped up for this and with the patio heaters we where warm enough and enjoyed the experience 😀 The food was really lovely and the service from all the staff was excellent, couldn't fault it and definitely will re visit

Took the opportunity of the Eat or to help out to eat here for lunch. We hadnt booked, so we're advised that there was only outdoor seating available, which wasn't a problem as was nice day. I chose the Barbecue Pork Belly and the other person in the party, opted for the Lamb shank with jacket potato. Don't you just hate it when the other person's dinner arrives and you had wished you had chosen it yourself too. Well don't worry, the Barbecue Pork Belly was fantastic. Great food, great service and if it wasn't on the eat out to help out, I would have still written a 5* review. 👍🏻

I love this place used to go on regular basis . The only downside is how expensive it was for a glass of wine . Please dont spoil this lovely restaurent in a gorgeous location with the prices.
