Locks Bar & Restaurant, Nicklaus Function Suite at Trent Lock Golf & Country Club in Erewash

Called for Sunday carvery. It's not the usual style. You place an order with a waiter, and it is prepared in the kitchen with no input from you. 2x carvery 1x decaf tea and 1x small white wine, £43. The veg were andante, and the roast potatoes were big with very thick hard skins. Had to sit in the bar area, not in the restaurant. Was very disappointed with food and price.

Should be a decent place tbh as the food is good and the location half decent too. Alas, the costs are high and usually on an upward trend too. The bar staff range from great, where they are very helpful too, at the high end to a guy who is surly and ignorant at the lower end. More of an eye on customer service and needs and less on money money money is needed for me!

Went in a group of 10 for Sunday lunch. Most of us opted for the carvery. Delicious food with plenty of choice. Very tasty and will definitely be coming back. Staff lovely and friendly.

I go there to the Golf Club to play golf and use the driving range. The restaurant is upscale and great service.

Had an awful lunch. Worst prawns I ever tasted Service was absolutely shocking but staff were lovely and under pressure from lack of staff. Such a pity as garden setting very nice indeed. Think they should look at their suppliers. Will not be returning any time soon

Good lunchtime meals. Excellent service from the lady on the bar till who had great knowledge of the gluten free options despite them not being shown on the menu.

Excellent food and value, let down by the fact we were not advised they were closing at 22.00 and made to feel at 21.30 it was time to go and given our bill, when we hadn't asked for it. No chance to spend more money with them, and a bar manager that seemed more concerned with finishing as they had a busy day.

Nice setting but breakfast was poor. The bacon crumbled in my fingers, sausage was black on the outside and pink on the inside and didn't get a lot for the price.

Live this place. I'm not a member at this golf club but I often meet colleagues there for a coffee. Lovely place, coffee good and a great driving range for some practice after the meeting

The worst carvery I have ever had string in beef roast potatoes to hard and all for 13.95

These were supposed to be tiger prawns they were small and burnt. The rest of the place is really nice

We were a bit late arriving on Sunday and they kept the carvery open for us às we were a group of 8. The service and food was lovely even though it was after closing time.

Food was excellent. Service was quick and accurate. The young man who was our waiter for the evening was very polite and professional. He was a credit to the restaurant. We dined a 6.30pm on Saturday 3rd August. We will return again very soon.

Have enjoyed visiting every 1st Sunday in the month to listen to the Barry Peat Trio & Take two in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.but unfortunately the management have decided not to continue with them so they are having to look for a different venue,terrible shame.

Had a great birthday lunch with my family and everything was excellent. We had the carvery mostly which was delicious. I would recommend a visit. Also the service was really good.

Been here a few times, the two most recent being to see an Abba tribute band and the always excellent Rob Lamberti as George Michael. The two disappointing things with the Abba night were that they'd set up on the dance floor which meant that some of the tables couldn't see them but also that they wouldn't let anyone on the dance floor when they'd finished until they'd meticulously wrapped every plug & cable and packed and moved every box where the obvious way to do it so as not to spoil the customer's evening was to move all the kit out the door at the back of the dancefloor and pack it out there. Rob Lamberti has a similar amount of kit and his attitude appears to be to leave it where it is until the evening has finished. The dance floor has priority in his shows - and it shows.

We attended a New Year's Eve dinner and disco with fire to see in the new year. We had a very enjoyable evening, the food was good and hot, the staff were under a lot of pressure as the place was fully booked but they coped really well and were still smiling at 1am new years day. Excellent venue, disco was a bit to loud for me.

The meal was tasty but only a potato and broccoli was served with it, would have liked more veg. Bailey cheesecake didn't have the slightest Bailey flavour.

Such a great great sandwich proper chips and salad lunch snack today. Got order wrong to start with but the end result was worth waiting for! Friendly staff too. Service with a smile. X

We visit locks bar regularly ..the food is cooked to order ..not the usual "pub grub" . Try the curry of the day....best in town....after eating ..have a coffee or tea. 90 PENCE for a tea...take a beer into the garden...play the pirates golf...but watch out for surprises...no more to say really....just do it...

Good food, well prepared. The two for one at £15 are very good value for money. The staff are helpful and friendly. The bar and restaurant areas are pleasent spacious and comfortable. They do a Sunday Carvery which I have not tried.

went as a golf society breakfast was superb but when we came back the bar was very hot ,does this place have any air conditioning, if so it needs to be used otherwise it's ok

Excellent setting and very nice inside. Food is great...when they have it in stock. Been a few times now and they've not had what we wanted on the menu. Helpful staff..if not a little over the top.
