Mixed bag this one, we got a tawa and chana dal. Chicken Tikka pieces were quite dry. Lamb curry we chose was quite cheesy and fatty. Naan was very nice and fresh and buttery, chapati was quite hard and crispy unlike the chapatis you'd expect. Lamb chops were very nice and nicely Tikka. Pillau rice appeared to be ordinary rice and quite greasy. The service was very good and staff were very attentive and looked after us, maybe we just ordered the wrong thing, we've always been impressed before.

Received completely the wrong order. This was eventually sent out again after a difficult couple of phone calls. When the food arrived it was cold and had to be reheated. Dissapointing experience as Roomali came highly recommended. Decided to switch from our regular as a treat (much more expensive). I don’t think we had the best from them and I’m sure it’s normally very good. I don’t have the confidence to go back though.

Great platters and some very delectable sauces to go along. Wonderful curries and qormas. Good value for money. Definitely recommend.

Got a lovely seating area, friendly staff, food was fresh, lamb chops were abit too hard, standard prices.

Peacefully quiet on my visit of a large group; looked after well and tasty food served. No complaints, and will return for sure.

There was one guy in the staff who was super rude. Didn’t stay there for long and left without eating.

the pilau rice is amazing, I good eat that on its own, the chicken jalfrezi is fantastic really enjoyed it

Roomali’s Karahi Lamb is simply the best. It is always very tasty. It’s a shame that with the delivery charge & service charge, it seems quite expensive to pay approx £16 for one portion of curry.

The quality of food at Roomali is always of a good standard. The delivery process was a mess from Just Eat’s end. It showed as the order having been delivered but Roomali was waiting for the Just Eat Courier to pick the food up & I was waiting for the food to be delivered. But it was not collected nor delivered by Just Eat. It was really nice & kind of Roomali to deliver my food from their end. Roomali went above & beyond for me, so hats off to them for their exceptional service! Thanks Roomali!

The best in Blackburn in my opinion. Regular customer. They could do more for regulars though (stamp cards, % discount on orders) as £30-£40 spent on each order. Great food.

Quick delivery and the food is always AMAZING! Nice oily authentic tasting curry. And the roomali roti is so good. Highly recommend the chicken tikka starter, loads of meat. Also highly recommend chicken korahi.

Second visit , food wasn’t as good as the first time , had the platter , tikka and kebab both cold , rice was also not warm enough. Service was ok

We come here for the very 1st time as a family. First impressions more staff than customer's. Plates were dirty. We ordered starter's and 2 main courses. Handi Gosh was served in a standard dish and not a Handi! Keema Curry was ok. Overall nobody bothered to come and ask us how the food was. If we wanted anything, or ask us if we wanted any desert. Not a very good night...Overall spend for the meal £125🥶

Very nice place great food at ok prices. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only reason it didn't get a 5 is the eeats are not comfortable defo need to work on seating

The restaurant was inviting, great location, free car parking, food was tasty especially the lamb bhuna, great blend of herbs and spices (not too spicy!). Would go there again, well worth a visit.

It was a quiet evening, and service was decent. Food was good, although they couldn't cater from my child, which was a bit of a letdown..

We've been regulars here for several years before they were in town and now here. Exceptional service by all staff over time, lovely owner and great food all round. Roomali red mocktail and there Roomali roti highly recommended with anything on the menu.

Ordered takeout chicken nimbali, I’ve had from them previously, however once I got home, I was speechless the portion size was half the container, if not less , rang up and was told that is the portion size for week days it may be different at weekends, what a lot of nonsense, For the price changed you would expect a decent amount of food, but not according to the staff at roomali , some what very disappointing!!

Went to a wedding there. Food was okay. Service was not good. They were too slow. The deco was nice, though. A bit stingy with portion sizes.

Food was good, but service was awful Waiters need to be trained to serve the customers that are eating and not concentrate on trying to clean table for next customers. Asked 3 lots of waiter for table water eventually after 15mins had to get it mysel same with some tissues. Also the staff are not monitoring the tables around the table they are serving, they are too head down look on the floor and walking off, they need to have an awareness of the tables around. Even I it means reassuring the customer they are working on it. Not pleased☹

Dined in for a booking at 7.30pm. Awful service. Food was ok but after having to wait an hour for the starters then another wait for the mains we were fed up. The glasses were dirty and we had to ask for others. The waiters were not attentive and had to call multiple times to gain their attention. When we asked for a discount at the end because we were unhappy with the service we were told a flat out no straight away by the lady at checkout and she wouldn't even ask someone else to see what could be done. The fact that even after complaining they wouldn't accommodate is very disheartening. Do not recommend this place at all.

We had our daughters graduation party today , can not praise the staff enough , friendly helpful polite and went out of their way to make sure everything was as we wanted nothing was too much trouble!! Food as always was first class and absolutely delicious. Thank-you to everyone at Roomali @ the woodlands!!

Excellent food, but a little hot in terms of chilly. But new place is bang on.

We booked Roomali for a family birthday meal and the service and quality of food was great. The upstairs seating area was spacious for our group of 24 and the set up allowed us to have privacy even with other diners. The tawas were beautifully presented and the ambiance was perfect. Thank you Roomali staff for a lovely evening and we’ll be seeing you again soon.

Seating was very weird and uncomfortable, primary school dinner hall vibe, so they provided cushions to sit on. Food portions/prices could be improved. Location is very good and decent parking. Service was slightly slow and had to repeatedly ask for tissues and drinks etc. Lamb karahi was very nice as was the garlic naan. Yet to find a restaurant who can match Akbars prawns wow.

Had a wedding on the weekend booked here. Absolutely amazing place. The staff were so lovely and polite. Everything was immaculate considering we were late they managed to work around us. The set up was fantastic. Food was warm and on point. Our guest were looked after individually from the elders to the children. Thank you so much Roomali for making my sisters day special. Definitely will be booking again.

Food is absolute delight service is great

Arrived on time, nice and hot. We ordered the lamb bhuna gosht, lamb bhindi gosht, lamb biryani and chips. The bhuna is our go-to and we really enjoy the flavours. The lamb is always very tender and soft. The food is quite spicy (probably too spicy for some) but is still flavoursome. The chips are good too and decent portion sizes.

The butter chicken definitely wasn’t butter chicken.. blew my mouth off!! Was far to spicy.. definitely sent the wrong dish.

One word “superb”, first order but certainly not the last

Sadly it’s a no from us. Firstly the delivery driver gave us someone else’s order. I rang and she came back. Then the delivery was then missing rice. As far as the food went it was ok. The dhal wasn’t great at all and the chana masala was steeped in oil (probably butter?) but was too greasy. I was sad as the menu is good snd different from other Indian takeaways around My favourite restaurant is in Horwich so I was hoping this would be good and save me the journey!

The worse food ever. Paid over £112for food that was disgusting and was very noisy as upstairs some big family had an event celebrating going on. But food was 0/10. People who served us were so nice shame can't be said about the food. Avoid at all cost if u want decent food. Only thing decent was to drink was the mocktail. Wouldn't ever be going back.

First time coming here and the food was out if this world. will definitely be returning. 10/10.. and for £45 for 2 adults and a child I think this is really cheap for the quality of food, Brilliant service & exceptional food.. see you next week 😃

Very bad service as we had to wait 40 minutes just for a can of coke and to get just a plate or glass we had to ask the waiters 20 times as they were very ignorant. I am very disappointed.

We came as a group of about 70 and the staff looked after us so well. The food was delicious and there was lots of it. Nothing was too much trouble and at the end of the night the food that had been prepared but not eaten was boxed up for people to take home! Now you can't ask for more than that! Thanks, Roomali!

Dissapointed. Came today with friends. Starter took 45 mins, waiter apologised as it was due to a big group who joined without booking. Table next to us were also complaining. Main course 45 mins. We got up to leave but told wont be long. Was given water but no glasses, 1 coke and the other 3 we got 20 mins later. No sauces with mains. We were there so long that we got our food packed to eat at home. Taste was mediocre. Bill was knocked omdown due to this but wont be returning. First time going and was very dissapointed.

I organised a surprise birthday for my daughters 25th and let's just say I didn't have to stress at all as they were so helpful and well organised. First impressions too dark all black. Low Cheap Plastic Chairs. Was given the cold naans/ roti before the Tawa curry came after a while Asked for chicken Karachi as an extra instead received lamb Karahi. Chutneys had to ask for mango chutney. No spoons. Food was bland . No spice. Too noisy. A group of women behind making a lot of noise did ask to move but was ignored.waiter couldn’t hear. Waiter looked fed up. Not enough staff serving. Very disappointed! Not likely to go back!

Where do I start? Honestly can't complain about the food but who are you employing?? The child waiter who served us needs to go on a comprehensive training course in how to speak to customers. We had to repeat ourselves on numerous occasions. I asked for a dessert to be warmed up as it came out freezing cold. It was warmed again and the child waiter came back and said its "broken now" not quite sure why he said this. Got kebabs thrown at me without so much as an apology!! Also caught child waiter pulling his chuds out of his line whilst serving us food. All in all a great night very entertaining I must say. Would not recommend at all for service.

April 2022 Friendly service and decent interior decor. I was sat in front of a contemporary styled wall with a large hole in it and the draught nearly froze me though. Some thought needs to be given to diners comfort too. Onto the food. It was average unfortunately. I had been to the old Roomali restaurant years ago (I think it was in town) and the food was great. Properly authentic and great depth of flavour. This place on Preston New Road left a lot to be desired. Firstly there were no prawns or paneer available for starters so I had to order chicken or vegetable. I ordered both. The chicken kebab was average. Typical British Asian restaurant flavours and lacking any real complexity. The vegetable pakora / bhaji was greasy and overdone. Avoid. Mains were again typical British Asian dishes. Best way to think of them would be imagine you had an English person prepare an Indian meal for you with off the shelf sauces. Very bland and hastily prepared. Truth be told it’s really put me off the restaurant and I won’t be visiting again

The atmosphere and service was ok but the food we had was perfect, the lamb curry, the prawn curry were both beautifully well made the kebabs were tasty like I'd never had before and the lamb chops were marinated perfectly and so well cooked they almost melted in my mouth

Went with the family, I wasn't happy with the service, vomited twice as soon as we got back home, and had a bad bout of the runs, seemed like food poisoning havent felt better now for almost 2 weeks, the good old days of great food For a decent price has gone, now they even charge for the condiments. Ridiculous won't be going ever again

This place is not the same as the old one. It use to be nice interior and attractive but the woodlands building seems outdated with chairs and tables which need investing in. Tables were wobbly and chairs were really uncomfortable. Food was okay but staff need to be told to tie there hair up! Hair was everywhere to be seen as the girls walk around with there hair down.🤦‍♀️
