Roof East in Newham

Great little evening with friends. We had some food, drinks and played some.of the games they have up there. Easy to get to by car or train. You don't really need to pre-book games but if you have one in mind, you may want to book your slot first then have some food and drinks. We waited till 9 for our game but intended to be there all evening. There is some free stuff like Jenga and bean bags dotted around to have games with which was fun. And an open air cinema although we didn't see a film. Toilets were clean and warm and staff friendly.

Absolutely amazing and wonderful. Great staff, brilliant food and some of the best games and activities! Truly wonderful atmosphere too. A must see. Thanks for the great time! 💖

Had a great time. I really enjoyed the batting cages but I do think it was a bit over priced, would of played more of the games if it was a bit cheaper, food was nice and reasonable prices, would definitely go back as it was just a fun place to be and have a drink without playing any of the games.

Always a fun time. Good selection of games and never to long of a queue to get a beer from the bar. I took my young nice this time and we had to leave before 5pm was the only downside.

Came for the roof east rooftop cinema- food was great, cinema service was great, blankets and water available for free. Can take any food to your seats, and views of the Olympic park and stadium are unreal on a sunset evening!!

Good food and drinks, lovely rooftop space, fun games - archery, baseball,mini golf and then some.

Place was decent, but the female security guard on the door was on one. She made our group decant a water, which is a bit unreasonable, and search our bags, which contained clothes. This went beyond her point of making sure food and drink wasn't brought in, and became an invasion of privacy. She also made a woman in another group empty out her breastmilk, which I'm fairly sure isn't legal. Also no soap by the men's urinals. £11 for mini golf was a bit strong. Decent place, not great

Went for a bday and private hired a cabana. Unfortunately it was raining so we couldn't use it but Sosa the manager made our experience so great. Want to say thank you so much to him!

WARNING This venue strictly enforces the "Challenge 25" policy. You will most likely be asked to show identification to security. They will search your bags and belongings and ask you to remove any items that resemble refreshments, even water. Whether in a bottle, a flask, or any other type of container, you will not be granted access unless you agree to dispose of it. This rule also applies to food, even snacks. It is quite intrusive and a bit off-putting, and, as far as I know, there is no area to store these items so that they can be returned to you after the event. You must either throw them away in the bin or be denied entry, which is quite frustrating, as they do not provide facilities to store people’s belongings until they leave. Even if you purchase drinks from their selection (including water, which they supply for free), you cannot leave the venue with them. The elevator at Roof East has signage clearly stating no alcohol, which is fair, but they also refuse to let you take water with you on your way out. This seems unnecessary. Be prepared for security to be overly strict and controlling, which could deter a second visit if you encounter any of these situations. On a positive note, the staff throughout the venue are nice and friendly. They will help explain how to participate in activities and serve food and beverages. This is undoubtedly the most positive aspect of the experience, along with the good vibes and atmosphere provided by the staff and attendees.

Great place to hang out with your mates

Don't let the shopping centre and lift fool you, once you're there this is a great place to chill and enjoy. Beware the minigolf is incredibly small and slightly overpriced at £11 but it was still a great time.

We had the perfect summer night at RoofEast. It's a colourful and vibrant atmosphere, from playing giant jenga to the excellent outdoor cinema 🎥 experience. I'd highly recommend it.

Great place to hang out The activities are so much fun, mini golf, hanging bar, batting cages... The atmosphere is great and the music is not too loud so you can actually talk to your friends. The staff is very nice too and the food is really decent.

Roof East is a great place to go with friends - especially when the weather is sunny. It is located on the top floor of the Stratford Centre Roofs carpark. It is a fun and vibrant place with loads of activities such as baseball, mini golf, outdoor bowls archery, and even an outdoor cinema! We had a great time playing baseball in the cages and would recommend it to anyone in the area!

No point in trying to enter this place. Very dangerous and the 10+ hooligans in the staircase and elevators will harass you just for trying to enter and leave. 0/5 roof east needs to do a better job of creating a safe environment for people to get in and leave their doors

Terrible terrible organisation on the euro final. Not enough security, the entire staircase to entry blocked turning into a weed hotbox. Police and ambulance called after the mob pushed through security into the roof. Staff all confused and lying if people will be allowed in, some saying to wait, some saying to go home.

Unfortunately I got food poisoning from the chicken burger that was called hot stuff.

People should be allowed to bring their own water to the roof. Especially with a health issues. I can't drink tap water. In general the place is alright. A bit messy though.

Yesterday I came to Roof East for the first time. I was in Stratford with my friends and we ended up finding this place by accident. A very friendly security at the door named JP encouraged us to come in and gave us a little tour about the place. We spent the rest of our evening there and we had an amazing time. In terms of games I do recommend Arrows it's a very fun game and in terms of food the the Turkish shed was the best. At the bar don't forget to try the love bug cocktail. It's such a nice place to spend time with friends and I will definitely come back.

Where do I start, so I just went over too rooftop east with some family over from Cyprus my two cousins did not have their ID however, it says on their website and on a sign at the location, as long as you are with an occupied adult anyone under 18 can enter even tho they were both over 18, the security refused to let us in as they did not have photo ID even tho myself and my sister did which is NOT the problem, the problem is that’s another security who goes by the name JP, came over and said do you not have a phone in your country to take a picture shook his head and showed us how to take a picture with his hands. WOW is all I have to say in this day and age I wouldn’t expect such disrespectful and discriminatory comments to be made about someone who is foreign. How can you even make such a comment? And proceeded to wave sarcastically bye to us. I went back up to the rooftop and asked for his name which he refused to give and was extremely rude I asked for a manager and his boss came over and tried to sugar coat the situation, I’m not stupid enough to brush this off I’m sure if any comment like that was made to their family they would not be happy and also to be told he didn’t mean it, he didn’t even apologise or try to realise what he did was extremely wrong and rude. I don’t understand how they can hire people like this and allow such comments to be made. His manager eventually gave his name and I really hope no one else experiences something like this!

Went on a rainy day, but staff could not be more lovely and helpful, offering blankets and ponchos. Popcorn, sound quality and blankets were great. Great selection of films!

Wanted to have a look and planned to stay for lunch, but being accosted at the door for a over thorough bag search put a downer on things before we got a chance to look. Got in and nothing for the other half, so after 2 mins we got our stuff back and left.

Good selection of different food vendors and reasonably priced. Good selection on bar drinks too, similarly priced to other bars in the area. Takes 10-15 minutes to get served depending on how busy the area is. They have a few free activities so fun to go to with a group of friends, goat jenga, beat the bar and crazy golf!

Great place and lots of fun. All staff were friendly and had great energy, standard London prices and several different games to play. Half of the games are free and the other half you pay for. Would recommend and certainly return.

Now this is a cool place to visit with some great games to play. Tried slug it and crazy golf. Both were a laugh and the staff were amazing... really friendly and helpful! Beer was OK and food was on the average side tbh. But as its the first day of opening I'll let them off a bit. Will be great to visit when it's warm as everything is outdoors!

Beautiful roof in Stratford. Really nice atmosphere and perfect for the summer. We had drinks, dinner, and played some games too. We had a great time and look forward to going back next summer.

We visited on a really sunny day so often a bit tricky to see the screen for night scenes. But overall a really great experience. Good food, comfy chairs, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere 🍿😊

We had very nice experience, you can have good options if you like to drink but for food we got very less option specifically for vegetarians. That’s the only thing we didn’t like being there. Otherwise, a lot of games to play, open rooftop movie option etc are the attraction of the place. Just go and enjoy. Also, don’t forget to have your ids with you to show.

Coming back from central with 2 8year olds ready to play crazy golf to be turned away due to apparent age restrictions. Maybe I’m missing something but there’s nothing clear on the website to state no under 18s after 5pm. Security lady was very lovely and apologetic. You also show a 12 rated film At 4.30?!?

If you are looking for an outdoor place with a variety of fun and food look no further Roof East has it all ! From mini games to mini golf, outdoor cinema, batting cages, bowling and archery everyone can find their fun. There are also different food stalls which is great if your party doesn't like the same things or have different food requirements. I would recommend to book the activities in advance as some can be sold out quickly especially during good weather. There are many seating spots and you don't have to eat to sit down. The atmosphere is really nice and so is the decoration. We had a great time !

Queued for like 15 min for drinks. Someone before me ordered like 10 different cocktails. That must have been the last straw(pun intended) and the queue suddenly didn’t have anyone serving. Longest wait ever. Won’t return

They've packed a lot of food, drinks and activities into a rooftop carpark. A good atmosphere but the only shade is an indoor section which is very hot. The crazy golf is over priced for what it is (quality and time to complete). Staff seem like work experience students who really don't care what's happening

Unique venue for the summer . Superb tunes . Games or just chillaxing I visited the Roof East yesterday evening {April 2019} and it was great fun, a little oasis in Stratford which I'm glad is based in the "original" shopping centre to generate as much interest there as in Westfield. We deliberately arrived at 5pm to avoid crowds and when we left at 7.30 ( due to my friend feeling cold and needing a hot drink) it was getting much busier with groups arriving. Thankfully it was a chilly but sunny evening but I'm told that Easter weekend saw over 10,000 patrons which I can easily believe. The great points include the fun and unique decor, rollerskaters, cars with tress growing out of them, the most amazing soundtrack, 1980 & 90's Pop & Soul had me dancing in my seat from the word go. . . I could have stayed for hours longer I was really please to see a vegan offering of Vegan Chay which, considering there were only 3 eateries was a real plus for me and Connor my server was exceptional (that's him in my Eat Chay photo holding the Lemongrass and chilli chicken Boa he's just made me which was delicious) . Lots of games to play - golf , bowls, foosball - or simply just chilling on the deck chairs of seated area, all mainly for adults (weekend I think it's open to kids) . I really appreciate that the toilets were made colourfur with floral displays, fairy lights and cleaned regularly so even though it's a porto-cabin, half for men half for women, it was very good (coat hooks on the bag of doors would be appreciated and easy to implement) . Down sides were that there's no stalls offering hot drinks (some staff told me how freezing they were, poor things) nor was there a stall for sweets, cakes or desserts which after any meal I require. Had there been we'd have stayed a few more hours at least but my friend was cold and wanted a hot drink, and as you can't bring anything from outside, so we had to pop to Graniers in the shopping Centre instead which I think is a wasted oppportunity for Roof East, Mocktails were £3 each and 90% ice so that was disappointing. Security held onto my Birthday gifts (including a boxed celebration glass, celebration mug and M&S biscuits) giving a ticket to collect as I departed and the male security man wisely suggested I photograph the ticket as I guess he knows how many people lose it by the end of the evening (and how highly likely I was to do the same) . All the staff I encountered were very nice, friendly, pleasant and professional. As you exit Stratford train & tube station (Overground, DLR Jubilee & Central lines) walk passed the bus depot into the Shopping mall, the lifts to the 8th floor are directly in-front of you as you enter the centre. A lady I held the lift for was parked in the car park but didn't know about the Roof East, so it's still an unknown little gem, even to locals I will be back though, I will always be there when it's not too busy and when it's chilly to avoid the masses. . . just hope they offer hot drinks soon.

Vibrant atmosphere with many entertainment options. Street food (Mexican, Indian, burger...) and various bars with enough drinks selection are available at this rooftop full of entertainment options such as mini golf or ping-pong. Some activities are paid but there are also free games (like jengas on the tables). There's also a rooftop cinema which is an experience I'd totally recommend in summer. There is only a "but" and it is sometimes there are queues at the bars. Price as usual at this type of places: 11 pounds for a burrito, 7 for a beer.

For some reason our food took ages, as others came, ordered, got their food and left. And then once we got it, our sides were missing, so we went back, waited again, and as we walked away, one of our containers fell apart! The lasses on the baseball game were a bit rude, but the barstaff were canny!

Took my family, including 3 kids and cousin. My son is autistic, and we went to watch Ratatouille - he loved it. Infact, all the kids did - it felt like a hidden gem in the middle of Newham! The weather wasnt kind to us, but we cut our visit short and went to the mall. We plan to go back to get the full roof top experiance again very soon!!! Cant wait....

Great roof top area in east London at Stratford. Good option for groups and as a work event. Lots of space for events and there’s plenty of games and food options.

I have to be honest I was very disappointed with my experience the there was only a handful of games to play in contrast to what the actual website promoted. In addition to this I paid for additional games one inparticular called sluggers only to be told on the day of my arrival that for some unexplained reason I wasn't able to play. And I'm still awaiting a response in regards to some type of refund.

Ideal for private hire for groups as there are many options of games available: archery, minigolf, cinema, bowls. You only have 3 stalls of street food: kebab, burgers and tortillas. I gave it a 3 stars as i would have personally wanted to see a larger selection, including east asians 😁 They ha e organised a private area for our group of 50. The staff is friendly and very helpful so that is a bonus 😀

The atmosphere was really gd loved the opened top roof and the sunshine when it stayed. Food was okay, not as gd as expected. Loaded shawarma fries didn't come with any wow factor. The server was also not wanting to take the order properly. Overall I probably wouldn't order her again. The 2nd option for the burger with peanut butter was OK but nothing special- quite pricey for a mini burger. I did like the mac and cheese bites though. But the rest of the food was typical and nothing special. I'd probably return to do the games and have drinks. More food options would be great though. Bar service was great atleast.

Nice ambiance but food is expensive and not good quality!! Need to improve with that. Also staff needs to be more friendly and smily. PLEASE
