Tried to buy a greetings card. A large, angry looking woman in a cream jumper and trousers which were undone at the waist kept trying to walk through me. No 'excuse me'. Just dirty looks and attitude. I thought she was just a particularly unpleasant shopper. After a while I realized that she actually works there. Picked my greetings card. Queue was so big that I walked away. Bought my card from Card factory in the end - half the price with staff who don't look like they hate their work - and I was served in less than a minute. Looked for other gifts - poor stock selections which were inferior to that which I can find online, with JL offering poor value pricing. Asked a member of staff for help. They were walking away from me, with their back to me while responding. Strangely I've had that experience a few times in JL over the past few years - engaging staff who are staring into the distance or not breaking off a conversation with their colleague, and who treat me like an inconvenience. I used to buy stuff from JL LOADS - I don't see any point in them anymore. Between Amazon and M&S I can get what I would have bought from JL at far, far better prices and with much better customer service standards elsewhere. Sad to see a once great shop turn into such a pointless store.

Went in to buy a new NEF oven, we knew what we wanted just needed info on the differences between the choices. Looked at the range for some time giving obvious signals to any experienced or professional/well trained sales assistant that we were serious customers, while SIX 'partners', stood chatting behind the nearby counter! They clearly saw us but obviously it was more important to chat than approach. Spoke to a near by, I assume, manager who said sorry and that was not what should happen, but no effort to rescue the sale. The 'partnership' has fallen, what a shame.

Horrific experience with the old asian woman working at the longchamp counter. I was trying to purchase a bag and was looking for a specific colour, she wouldn’t stop following me despite the fact I was literally next to her. I picked up a bag I wanted and placed it on the glass table in front of me, she picked it up and took it and put it back despite the fact I’d said I wanted it? Then she started saying ‘no no no’ and giving me dirty looks and whatnot. I ended up buying a bag and paying for it at another till where the woman who served me was lovely, but she forget to take off the security tag and I didn’t realise under about 10 minutes later. I went back to ask for the tag to be removed, I had the receipt and bag still, and the Asian woman came over and started saying ‘no!!’ and accused me of stealing the bag. The woman at the counter said she’d served me but the Asian woman kept saying I’d not paid for it and I showed her the receipt, she said that I was lying as the receipt did not have the date on it?.. clearly she has trouble reading since the receipt obviously had the date on it since that is common sense. The other woman pointed out it did have the date and the Asian woman said ‘okay you can go’ and scoffed at me, not an apology or anything. I can’t believe someone can act like this especially considering the fact she is pushing 50 working in a retail job.

I’m an avid John Lewis fan but my latest experience in the Stratford store was awful - I spent half an hour waiting to be served in the tech department only to be told the product was out of stock. I then asked to buy the display item instead but was told that wasn’t possible. I then went to the gift department and had to endure a 25 minute wait in line to pay. Following this experience m, I fully understand why I generally shop online!

As always, staff were very helpful and they had a surprisingly good range of things available, at good prices. I was slightly disappointed not to find any marzipan fruits, but I guess if they had any, they had sold out by the day before Christmas eve, and they had a range of similar gifts, as well as something nice I found for someone else I didn't have a good idea for. As always, a pleasure to shop at and the first place you should think of for most things.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Dior beauty counter in John Lewis. Despite waiting for assistance, I was completely ignored by the staff. After finally speaking to the manager—who kept me waiting for 30 minutes—she simply said “sorry” and suggested I leave and come back later. This was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Instead, I went to Boots, where I received excellent customer service. The staff there were attentive, helpful, and made me feel valued as a customer. They even explained their loyalty points system, which was a nice bonus. I expected much better from Dior at John Lewis, but unfortunately, they let me down. I won’t be returning to this counter.

Was in the restaurant today on the upper floor of John Lewis. I do not know why but the air conditioner was on and it was very cold. We had a similar experience when we were there about one month ago. Several customers kept their coats on while eating their food. It’s ridiculous. We will not be using the restaurant again until it is warmer.

11am First level.main entrance closed, so we had to go around to the back. Escalator up from 1st to 2nd level was out of action, I don't think that the two issues were related. Otherwise a good visit. All access points were open as were escalators, staff very helpful. John Lewis are Christmas ready. The shop looked clean, tidy and polished for Christmas. I purchased a sofa through John Lewis (JL) when the furniture was delayed in being delivered multiple times (5 and counting!) JL washed their hands of the issue, blaming the supplier only. I have also heard numerous examples of poorly delivered white goods from JL, so I will stear well clear of your store and website in the future.

I had a bra fitting in John Lewis, and was very nervous as I haven't had one in years. Caitlin was fantastic. She was patient and answered all of my questions, while also pre-empting what I needed as a client. She was also considerate and I didn't feel any social discomfort from the process. The only reason this isn't a five-star-review is because of the up-market costs of the items (not the fitting, that was free!). There are very few places that do bra fittings, and the only places that I could find were all up-market so make me as a buyer feel inadequate when I can't actually buy the bra style that best fit me, especially when my size had changed so much. Product quality is good, but price tags were winceable.

I came into the coach store in Westfield and received the worst service I could ever imagine, so I left and came to coach John Lewis and was served by Frankie he was an absolute star. He helped me with the bag tabby 26 in dark stone and made me feel so happy and comfortable. He also convinced me to get the perfume and a card holder which I didnt intend to buy but feel in love after he’s amazing customer service. While browsing in the cookware section, a staff member approached and asked if we needed assistance. I asked if they stocked a particular brand, and he responded, "I only work for Le Creuset," pointed to the logos around us, and walked off. His tone and demeanor were condescending, making me feel as though suggesting another brand was somehow foolish. John Lewis really needs to take a closer look at the behaviour of staff in their concessions—his attitude was completely unacceptable.

Weds 02/10/2024:- Overall a calm shopping experience. Bought a new pair of Dune boots but I, along with several others, had to wait quite a while for an assistant. I asked a cashier if anyone was serving and it turned out to be her! She must have put out a Mayday because a guy arrived to help out. Assume they must be short-staffed. Had lunch in the top floor cafè. Nice generous bowl of a creamy Thai chicken soup with half a small 🥖 all for £5.95 which I thought was good value for money. Lovely girl who served me.

Went in to get cufflinks, found what I was looking for and went to pay. I was held up due to lady in front returning some items and being interrogated in a very hostile manner, surrounded by 3 members of staff. Very unprofessional, she should have been dealt with away from the queue and earshot at the refund desk. I paid for my cufflinks and asked for a small gift bag or paper bag and was offered a medium sized plastic JL bag. Seriously, must do better for such an esteemed business. Plastic bags???? Visited the perfumery today the cashier serving me at the Francis Maison Kurkdijan counter was helpful. It did take a while to get served as she was occupied with another customer and was the only person covering that section. Security guard of Asian ethnicity was watching and hovering over like a hawk. All in all an uncomfortable shopping experience. I don’t expect my every move to be watched whilst I stop. Whilst I can respect that they are doing their job I don’t expect that kind of shopping experience whilst observing no other shopper was being treated the same. I don’t think I will be returning to this branch. I don’t get treated like this at the Oxford St. branch. A more pleasurable experience.

(Update review: I need to emphasise why the two stars - A star for the lady at the Bobbi Brown counter and I believe she had piercings? Her just smiling, that alone makes you feel welcomed and safe to browse. Another star goes to another lady at the Estée Lauder counter who wears a hijab - she was absolutely friendly, informative and very welcoming). Original review: I am looking up on their inclusion policies and would like to ask the management if they could please remind some of their members of staff (not the concession) in the perfumery department to treat everyone with fairness and not behave like they are superior above everyone else. This whole race and class division is so very 1970s it’s now time to grow. I have always appreciated the quality of service at John Lewis, but my recent experience at the Stratford branch was deeply disappointing. When I asked a cashier for help finding a different size of a top (as there was no one else on the shop floor), her response was dismissive and unprofessional. She rudely told me, “Can’t you see I’m with a customer?” and then proceeded to ignore my request completely when I inquired if someone else could assist me. Her behaviour made me feel unwelcome and like a nuisance, and I couldn’t help but sense underlying bias in her attitude. This is not reflective of the excellent service I’ve consistently experienced at other John Lewis locations across the country, where staff are always friendly and helpful. There seems to be something fundamentally wrong with the customer service culture at the Stratford branch.

Best news... JL is back with their price match policy "Never knowingly under sold". John Lewis offers 2 years warranty on their electronic items which hardly any other seller does. Normally I go to Peter Jones in Sloane Square and their electronic items are all on the top floor but here in Stratford those are on the ground floor. They also offer "reduced to clear" customer return items on great discounted price

I like the John Lewis store and my visit was good but badly let down by the "Place to Eat" I only wanted a roll and coffee, coffee was great but the roll was terrible, Tuna and Cucumber, it was freezing no butter in the roll there was enough cucumber and tuna but cold the roll was cold in fact so hard I think it was still frozen in places, I had to wait ages for this so I assume the staff member was trying to defrost it, bad show JL, so I went without lunch as I had no time to go elsewhere, I did complain and I was refunded my money.

When I'm in Westfield Stratford I always go here, it's not crowded and you can browse in peace. Yesterday I went to the Estee Lauder counter to purchase a perfume. Milfa served me. She was great. I recently visited the Peter Jones store in Chelsea to purchase a chair that was on sale. Unfortunately, the staff, including the floor manager, were not very helpful. They had only one chair left and refused to hold it for me while I checked another John Lewis store for more options. However, when I contacted customer service, they were incredibly helpful. They found two chairs available at the John Lewis store in Stratford, a location I had never visited before. The customer service at Stratford was infinitely more helpful and friendly. The staff at John Lewis Westfield Stratford are always very pleasant and helpful. This branch as well John Lewis shepherd's bush tends to be our go to place for larger items as well as other types of shopping such as clothes and homeware. The choice is excellent. Hi I went to buy some soney head phones and the sales man at the counter was verry polite, and helpful in informing me of the protection plan along with sighing up for the app, I believe his name was Arcangilo or somthing like that as I didnt right it down he was on the desk by the head phones on the Wednesday around 5pm I believe. He was extremely nice and I just wanted to show my gratitude.

Bought a TV from the store. They had good stock and the staff were friendly and handled the TV with very good care. Arcangelo was super friendly, full of advice and provided lots of helpful information. He did a good job explaining all the add ons and extras some of which we ended up opting for. Would recommend seeking him out if you’re in search of a TV or even if you already know what you want. Will be sure to come back to John Lewis again if in need of any appliances

Very poor customer service experience today. I was shopping with an older relative who found a lovely DKNY handbag marked down from £310 to £186, then to £155. She was delighted with the reduction and went to the till to pay for it. The shop worker at the till stated the bag had been marked down to £155 in error, they would remove it from sale and put it back up for sale after 24 hours at the correct price of £186. When I said the bag was on the shop floor marked at £155 when my relative picked it up, I thought they had an obligation to sell it at the advertised price. I was informed by the worker that this was not the case and they had the right to remove the item from sale for 24 hours and reprice it, before putting it back up for sale. The worker offered no apology for their error. Although I asked to speak to a manager about the issue, she repeated what the other worker had said about their right to remove the bag from sale. She did apologise when I complained about what I felt was the rude and unhelpful attitude of her colleague but no aplogy for their error or the inconvenience this caused a potential customer. Really disappointed that such a supposedly renowned company can be so uninterested in its customers or the service they provide.

I had to make some returns. The fastest way is to return items to the store, with tags still in place. So that option was preferred. Staff or rather Partners are very helpful and happy to assist. The whole process took less than 6 minutes for 5 items. Doing in store returns gives you a chance to see other items both new and in the Sale.

John Lewis is unable to carry out a simple exchange even when they are at fault. I bought pajamas in a large size but received a medium top and a large bottom. I did not immediately realize this and wore the item twice. After I realized I received a medium top when it should have been a large. I called John Lewis's customer service by telephone. The first customer service told me to take the item to Waitrose. I visited Waitrose in Stratford and was told they do not exchange items and only deal with food. I called the customer service again and was told to go to John Lewis and that the exchange was possible. I was told customer service should be called if there were any problems in store. The in-store customer service told me they could not exchange the pajama top and directed me to the till and when I explained everything again to the till staff member, she sent me to the fitting room. After explaining what happened to the fitting staff member she said she could not help. I left with no one at John Lewis being able to exchange a simple pajama top. The John Lewis customer service we have come to know is well and truly over.

Snooty staff. I looked at a bag that was on display and touched the handles. When I walked away the assistant went straight to the bag and repositioned it. Don't have displays if u don't want potential customers looking and touching.

Today I went into the perfume section in John lewis @ westfield stratford. As im someone whose very imto perfumes, I know my brands and I can say I'm somewhat pompous when it comes to sales reps trying to persuade me to buy certain perfumes. I always know what I'm getting and I don't do any impulsive purchases. I like to spray the perfume on my skin let it cool down maybe even go home to see the longevity and that's how I roll. HOWEVER,, all this changed when I was met by the wonderful NERMINE, her knowledge us next to none. Incredibly professional and knows what she's selling. When I tell you I was awed by her ability to convince me to buy a perfume that I wasn't even coming in to buy, I was shocked. I walked off, then couldn't help but come back and buy it. The service is incredible and the knowledge and professionalism. I will definitely be coming back to the Maison Francais stand again and again to buy many more perfumes. With someone like Nermine I know very well that I'm getting simply the best! Thank you 😊

A great experience. Very relaxed and nicely lit. I was not feeling too good but it really lifted my spirits. The staff were very helpful and it felt high class in comparison to other eateries. I had a scone with jam and I was offered jam and cream but could not have this due to dietary issues. I noticed they helped a lady to her table as she was carrying bags and had a young child. Lovely staff.

Went to buy pram section to buy soemthing. They seemed unbothered and not helpful at all. Went from one staff to the next hoping for better service. In the end, I was kept waiting for 20minutes and then walked away. 2 of the other staff were having a chit chat rather than serving. Lazy and unhelpful staff.

I had an extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable experience with security yesterday whilst trying to buy a fragrance for a friend, which ruined my overall desire to purchase from John Lewis. It’s very evident that I was profiled as soon as I walked in, which as a hardworking woman, who makes an honest living, I find to be incredibly insulting. As if I’d risk my livelihood for a £50 bottle of perfume. I understand security guards have a job to do, but no customer should be made to feel pressured by the presence of a security guard breathing down their neck. I’ll be making a formal complaint and I will also be contacting the contractor of the security guards. Completely unacceptable given that I wasn’t the only person shopping on the floor.

My wife just had a frightening experience in John Lewis ladies toiled, where a female surrounded her at the washing basin, then blocked her getting out the door. When my wife questioned her, she said she was checking the toilets!! She didn't have a John Lewis uniform on and her badge round her neck was blank. Beware ladies, my wife was the only one in the toilet at the time.

SUCH a HORRIBLE costumer serivuce, I call at 8:40 pm to order a pizza for take away and she tells me “no pizza, no food for takeaway” and when I ask when they close there’s no answer. They clearly close at 11 as stated online and their Deliveroo service is still working. What a way to treat your locals who support you. Me and the family won’t be going there anymore.
