Nice restaurant located in centre of Perth. Food was nice, service let down by staff not being sharp enough; mains served when no cutlery on table, slow drinks, issue with bill etc. Manager chose to share his frustration with staff, perhaps bit of training required.

Where do I start! Family group of 15 in Roma last night. Very slow in taking drinks orders, (waited over half an hour for them to bring 1 glass of wine!) We requested water for the table, thinking a jug of cold water and some glasses would be brought over. Nope! We got 1 glass of lukewarm water. Was beginning to think we should go up to the bar to order our food as it was taking so long to be waited on! Also the restaurant was cold. Some of us had to put our coats and jackets back on. And we had 2 toddlers and 1 baby in our group. After numerous times asking about our food, it finally arrived at our tables 2 hrs after we got there. My pasta dish was only warm, not hot. No king prawns in the dish, which were extra. My son’s girlfriend had no chicken in hers, which again was charged extra. No offer of Parmesan or black pepper for our meals. But to top it all, both of my sons’ meals didn’t arrive at the table. They were expected to wait however long it was going to take to make them. By this time we had had enough. Told them not to bother as it was now past the little one’s bedtimes, and we were all cold. Then the bill came. The missed meals and the missing prawns and chicken were on it. Very quickly resolved!!! We will never go back here. There are many more MUCH better restaurants in Perth. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I wouldn’t like others to go through such a negative experience on what was meant to be a nice family night out. Just avoid!

Service was terrible and it was basically a birthday surprise but was ruined by service and members of our family left without food I won't b recommending to one person shocking And 2 plates of food were without what they orderd

Nice food, and happy staff. We thought it was closed at first (about 8pm) but we walked in and were served quickly. Pleasant wine. Nice pizza and four cheese pasta. All good on a chilly evening.

Roma has lost its Aroma. This place has gone downhill since my last visit in 2019, went back twice recently in the past couple weeks on a Friday and Saturday and this time will be my last. The place was absolutely scarce of customers where as it used to be a busy restaurant. Service was slow to order and waited an hour before our food arrived - which was not worth the waiting for and I could have made myself in a microwave. All in all the bill was near £50 for 3 meals. Place was cold too being within an underground cellar with no reception or customer wifi. This place needs to change before it closes its doors for good.

Having had a really pleasant experience a couple of years ago when the restaurant was vibrant and there was waiting staff in attendance who were able and attentive the whole experience has changed. No ambience, unlit candles on the sticky tables and a changed menu. We arrived early and ordered two cocktails. The Mojito arrived just before the main meal with no mint leaves or garnish. The expresso martini arrived 30 minutes later midway through our main course due to the coffee machine not having been switched on! The slightly disconcerting moment was watching the owner, who was also the only staff FoH, using crib sheets to construct the cocktails. Two glasses of merlot were also ordered to accompany our main course but these also arrived with my wife's expresso martini midway through our meal. We also ordered a jug of water for the table and two Coke tumblers of tepid water arrived, the owner apologising that he had no water jugs or carafes! Having initially wanting to order the steak pie then being told none was available, my wife couldn't finish the tagliatelle al pesto as it was bland and lacked flavour and freshness. The owner's dress sense and general appearance lacked any form of professional competence. A similar sense of disappointment could be heard and felt from the very small number of neighbouring tables who were also being exposed to this shambolic experience. There was also an audible argument between the owner and chef which smacked of a very unprofessional and fractious relationship within this poorly staffed restaurant. There was also an obvious emphasis on takeaway pizzas with the phone ringing regularly leading to the lack of table service. Roma needs to get a grip or this small restaurant will be no more. We certainly won't be back.

Great setting, well decorated. Lacks atmosphere as it is quiet. Food was good enough for the price but service needs improved. We got our starters before any drinks.

This place was amazing when we visited last year for a couples meal and couldn't falut it absolutely delicious. However we were down again for the horse races and remembered the memorable pizza we had there so decided to go again. Pizza was OK, base is bland but crispy and generally OK just shame as its definitely not what it was and i don't think I'll be back unfortunately .

Really disappointed by my recent visit. Had been a few years back and thought it was great, but it was like a different place this time. A big chunk of the menu wasn't available (as in, no burgers or steaks, fish or onion rings? a bit unfortunate on a friday night!), but that's ok since you'd hope they can focus on the authentic italian dishes, the pastas and pizzas. I ordered a polpette di nonna pizza and wasn't impressed, the meatballs were honestly flavourless and textureless( a bit like the cheap ones you get in home bargains or a corner shop!) which isn't great as that's the main draw of that specific pizza! It wasn't wallet breaking at £11, but I was still left disappointed as that is a significant spend for a disappointing pizza. Unfortunately no draught beers either. In fact, there wasn't a bartender, only one front of house member. It was only one lassie and she seemed a bit inexperienced, but I think she did well, especially as it did look like she was left to do service herself! Even then, the fact that a restaurant in the heart of the city can only one have one FoH staff on a friday night says it all. It's a very nice place inside, with a fantastic looking bar and just a generally cool environment, but it honestly feels like its being wasted. Like I said, I remember having some great meals there a couple of years back, but it just wasn't up to scratch this time, a real shame.

Spaghetti bolognese and penne Campagnolo. Both were delicious. Neat place. Cool vibe.

To start, I just want to say I have eaten out here lots of times and I really couldn't fault it. But tonight It was so atrocious and such a big let down for this place. I ordered the penne amertriciana (which I always order) but wow! What a let down. To begin with it was made with cheap salami which is not even supposes to be in it and wasn't in it before. Instead of using chili it was sweet bell peppers and absolutely no sauce, dry and completely flavourless. My partner ordered the tagliatelle and it was the same, not as before. Dry with no sauce and flavourless. Ordered the garlic bread and it was chunks of undercooked garlic paste. Just such a big letdown and I think I need to find myself a new Italian restaurant.

Pizzas good, but paid almost £4 for a baby's handful of rocket should have gone to lidl and got a whole bag for a 5th of the price!, also had to pay for a garlic dip that was clearly cheap mayo with some bought garlic puree, to top it off waited 2 hours for delivery and the delivery driver couldn't even get the right address and I ordered from another takeaway 'marmaris' and I got it in 15mins after already waiting an hour for roma

From the outside, the Roma restaurant promises a lot. There is a Cinquecento Fiat in the entrance for decoration, it goes down the stairs with a view of the bar area. Very nice. Then the tables with red checkered tablecloths, a touch of Italy. But the tablecloth was plastic. Well, not bad but uncomfortable. The place was empty. The next table had probably left shortly before and had not yet been cleared. The waitress was slightly bored at the counter. We ordered beer and pizza. The beer, I remember, the place was empty... lasts and lasts. We waited a long time. Then a bottle with glass came, it goes back, then the other bottle with glass. After another wait, the pizzas. These were really good. But in the meantime I was on the toilet. I haven't seen such bad conditions in years. Unhygienic, dirty, clogged, some without paper, the sinks hadn't been cleaned for months. The fact that this situation was known was evident from the fact that the waitress was there at the same time as me and only chose the third cabin after a few glances inside. If we hadn't already ordered, I would have left. By the way, the table next to us was cleared after a long time. I haven't had such poor service and hygiene conditions in a long time. The stars were given because of the good pizza. We won't be coming back...

Food here used to be sensational but has DRASTICALLY gone downhill in the past 4-5 months. The cost-cutting is patently obvious in the huge decline in food quality and presentation. Really disappointing as it used to be worth the price and the insane waiting times. Not anymore.

1000% amazing and very relaxing as well as many other other compliments i can’t even think of right now but it’s the real deal. Vito was a sweetheart and so welcoming, would definitely recommend to come in even for a quick meal xoxo

we came for tea last night. We were greeted on arrival and it was explained we probably would have a wait of drinks and ordering. Yes service was slow and no it didn't bother us in the slightest however the fact the only person was running everything out front meant he would soon struggle when things got busy. However everything else was positive, the food was excellent, the portions hot when served and plenty big enough for each person. very happy and would be happy to come back again

Everyone loved their pizzas, calamari and even a gf based pizza. Plus dessert and drinks. Only let down was that only one person on service duty making it a little slowbut when you enjoy the food whats the problem

I dined in with my family last night. Our total time in the restaurant was 2hrs 20 mins. The wait time for 3 starters was over 45 mins and then it was nearly an hour for our mains. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived. A table of 6 and three tables of 2 covers. A 14 top was leaving as we were getting seated. Their glasses and dishes were all still on the table the whole time we were there. There was only one person working who I assume was the manager/ owner who was on his phone and not clearing the tables. So literally we were looking at dirty plates and glasses whilst we were waiting. We never once received an apology for the wait of our food and drinks which he made and then left on the bar for over 20 minutes. It’s a shame as the food is good, but I doubt we will return in the near future.

Yesterday very rude service, very good food, the woman who served us was very not nice, never again!!!!!

The food was actually tasty. Although, we waited more than 1h and a half for the food, we even waited more than half an hour just to bring the drinks. They didn't apolagise after waiting so long for the food.

So to start with the positives, the food was tasty and piping hot when it came out, and the place was nice and clean and well presented. But the service was not good at all, I couldn't tell if the waitresses were new or what, but my drink was taken away when it was only half done and my menu was taken to another table when I hadn't finished looking at it. From the point of ordering and finishing our main course, we were there almost 2 hours, and we ordered garlic bread as a side when the food turned up to the table (A fault on our half as we forgot to order when putting our order in), but by the time we finished our food is when the Garlic Bread appeared. The staff also seemed to be more interested in getting the Deliveroo orders done rather than in house, which is all a shame because I had heard good things about the restaurant.

Simply put, they have the slowest delivery in town. They are at least an hour late every single time. Sadly, it's not worth the waiting time.

Arrived 1 hour & 20 minute after ordering & that's understandable if busy but chips were cold burger unedable so hard could bounce off the wall rest of meals were actually ok.

After a disappointing visit before christmas, I decided to give Roma a second chance, I kinda wish i didnt bother. From service to food, everything was rubbish start to finish. The food was bland and didn't taste fresh at all and took ages even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. The only improvement I'd say was the pizzas and that's the only reason I'd go back there, They seriously need to improve on the service and the quality of the food.

We ate in Roma again. very good pizza, better than in September but the food still smells like it was revoked, we recommend new calimary only fresh product probably in this restaurant

Usually great service but 45 mins for 2 pasta dishes was poor service

Were advised when we went in that we would have to wait 5 minutes until a table was cleaned and ready for us, but we could wait at the bar in the mean time, which we were more than happy to do. We planned to order a drink whilst we waited but the man at the bar could not have been any less interested in us. He stood at the opposite end of the bar and avoided all eye contact so that we couldn’t order. Our table was then ready so we just ended up ordering our drinks at the table. It then took about 25 minutes for our drinks to even be brought over to our table. The food was delicious but it was also a very long wait for it. Tasty food at a reasonable price, but if you are looking for attentive service, this is not the place to go as you will be left sitting waiting for food and drinks for ages. Sadly the service let it down.

Ate here and thought at The time it was lovely but The next day definitely had food poisoning and was ill for 3 days , 3 missed days of work, wont be going again and now will never eat risotto again either 🤢😥

When Roma arrived in Perth a few years ago it was full of promise. Food was usually very tasty not bad value and waitresses attentive and very busy but the speed of service was painfully slow. You can make accommodations for new staff in training, especially if it’s busy. But when there’s only a few tables occupied and there’s not much on the menu that could be called “complicated “ waiting an hour between starter and main, or 30 mins from sitting down to starter then patience can wear thin. Tempted in for a quick bite after a 2 year gap caused by the pandemic, my wife and I threw caution to the wind. Arriving at 4:30 it was quiet but not empty. Investment in up & down-lighters made the interior more conducive to being able to read the menu, a plus. Noting that our favourite thin and crispy plain pizza base with rosemary and sea-salt was missing, a minus. After 20 minutes the sole waitress came to take our drinks order and efficiently offered to take our meal order too. Only small bottles of sparkling water which turned out to be £4, typically the price of a 750ml (Not a bargain) I asked if a thin pizza base with rosemary and sea-salt could accompany the mixed crispy seafood starter and the helpful waitress said she would ask chef. Starters arrived about 40 minutes later and the non-menu item was pretty good attempt, a plus to cancel out the slow service minus? Eventually the mains arrived. Both were delicious! Another plus. Looking around as politely as possible to the patient-becoming-impatient tables of hungry diners it was evident that despite a good chef and a polite, friendly and over-worked waitress (yes just 1 for Saturday evening) the post-pandemic management strategy was very hands-off and certainly not about caring and providing for the customers. As if by magic what I thought was a less than busy KP appeared to assist & move the pace of delivery towards dead-slow. Perhaps he too was new, certainly not a confident or apologetic key member of the ‘team’ supporting the excellent waitress on what turned out to be her second night. Well a good tasty meal doesn’t last forever, if it did the former bonded warehouse cellar would soon become a dungeon. Time to settle up…. We could see that there was trouble at till and what we now suspect may have been a manager went to assist. Eventually the bill came, the comedy of errors now had a new script. A charge for a bottle of wine not ordered or consumed. The galling but fair-do £4 for a 250ml bottle of sparkling water and the piece de resistance £7 for a mysterious Focaccia Pomodoro where, a) there had been no tomato’s and b) no focaccia. I thought £5 for the pizza base with oil and rosemary was generous as a trade for the invisible focaccia but please remove the £21 extra charge for the fictitious bottle of wine. (Nice try) OK 2nd night nerves, bill adjusted for the wine but still the errant focaccia, at least now the cost of the meal was ‘ball-park’ I don’t mind a little slippage or creative accounting if everything has been great. So you can imagine that the next bill produced and had the mysterious bottle of wine re-added was now turning the comedy of errors into a tragedy. All sorted, we’re very busy, well that’s ok then. But it’s not. 5 Tables is not busy at 6:15 There’s no excuse for poor service, poor staffing/ roster control and poor management, especially if you’ve been trying to get consistently better reviews for a long time. Reading through the previous reviews the common thread seems to be multi-tasking and prioritising take-away and delivery orders. Pity, we won’t be back. Nor placing a telephone order anytime soon. There are far better choices in Perth nearby.

Absolutely shocking service at a meal for 10/special occ. some food wasn’t cooked proper, no steaks on sat night. Waited over a hr for a gin to come to table. No one asking how meal was I asked3 mth in advance if it was suitable for me to take birthday cake however on the night I arrived they said they had candles in off. 4 hrs later after waiting over2 hrs for our food the manager then confirmed there was no candles or music /happy birthday. Don’t do beers or cider on tap, price per bottle of beer/cider was dearest ever. Heard it had also changed owners twice recently. Not the same restaurant I visited in the past. Despite onky12 diners in restaurant staff didn’t seem to cope. If they didn’t spend as much time on delivery’s/take seats then it would have been a bit better. Spent /100,s of pounds for meals that where not gd. Stay clear of Roma in perth.

Had a lovely meal here, went for an early tea on a Sunday and it was very quiet but still a nice atmosphere, really cool interior, staff were very nice. Food was superb, everything was delicious, perfectly made, we will be back to try more of the menu.

Lovely venue with clean toilets and friendly waitress. Asked for milkshake but advised by waitress there was no milk, although a supermarket and a nearby corner shop were open. Spaghetti carbonara was made with a white sauce and appeared to have been under a lamp for a significant length of time. Empty plates removed before everyone at the table had finished. There are better places to eat in Perth.

Delicious food in a cool setting. Perfect bit to eat for dinner.

Came here for late lunch and there was not much of a crowd. Food took a while to come but probably because it was meticulously prepared in the kitchen. it was👨‍🍳👌✨chefs kiss✨ My korean friend couldn’t take the heat too, which goes to show that they know their spices!

Wouldn’t eat anywhere else when in Perth! Never had a bad experience when eating here, food is always top tier, service is on point and super quick even on the busy nights…10/10

There was no bartender so waitress made our cocktails herself and my cosmopolitan was worst I’ve ever tried. And staff should pay more attention to house customers as we had to ask for a plates, sauces for pizza and nobody even asked us is everything...

Visited on Saturday the 12th of February with 5 other people. Service was slow to start and slow and inconsistent at best. Starters took half an hour to come and mains almost an hour after that. Food was good but service was an absolute shambles. Tables next to us were similarly unimpressed.

Pizzas are actually fabulous but delivery is a total farce!! An hour and a half later we called as the update had said "left restaurant" but no sign. We phoned to be told they weren't actually even made yet or near the top of the list to be made!! You shouldn't offer delivery when u can't actually offer delivery in a reasonable time or give inaccurate times.

Outstanding courteous friendly service. Our server Darci was so lovely and I felt looked after and safe regarding my allergies. Food was also absolutely incredible. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Coming here again. Thank you Roma and Darci!

Interesting cozy decor with the vaulted brick ceilings. Real pizza oven with a big fire inside. Pizzas and pastas were tasty but the menu is rather limited to just those items. No draught beers at the bar; bottles only. The worst aspect had to be the number of delivery drivers coming in and out of the main entrance and using the place like a clubhouse - it really spoils the ambiance of a nice venue like this.

Pizzas are fab, cajun fries also a hit but the arancini was the star of tonights order! Fresh , hot and tasty . A little expensive in comparison to the Italian corner and the three brothers but would buy again, everyone enjoyed tonights take away !

Roma Restaurant was lovely and quiet when we arrived. There is a feature wall/fountain and a huge fish tank behind the bar which kept the kids entertained. There was no children's menu as such, instead the kids picked from the main menu and were given a slightly smaller portion with lower price. The food was great and the kids pizzas arrived in the shape of a fish with an olive for an eye which went down a treat! There was also a churros style dessert made with deep fried pizza dough sticks and fudge/chocolate dipping sauces which was amazing! Definitely worth a visit.

The staff are the real stars here, very good to excellent. Was a hair on the the menu which was slightly discerning. The radiator next to the table had dust on it, but I'm not saying it's dirty just a bit more attention to detail required. I had mac n cheese, wasn't the best tbh, needed something stronger to make the cheese zing in it. My partner absolutely loved her meal, she was very very pleased. All in all a very pleasant experience, great staff, mac n cheese wouldn't be my next choice but I'd definitely go back. Give them a try, it's a lovely place with amazing staff

We went without booking on Friday night they gave us a table after 10min wait by the bar great. We ordered coctails, starters and 2 pizza. Coctails very nice but took a whole to delievered them. Starters tasty but we wait 40min for calamari, prawns and chicken wings, pizza arrived quicker. Good was delicious. 2 members of Staff were doing their best but I could hear all customers frustration. One peeson with amazing selection of coctails its not ENOUGH. At least 1 more waitress Will be perfect as place has good pizza, great coctails, nice vibes and brilliant deco but its under Staff. We Will be back as I really enjoyed food and drinks but I hope there Will be more Staff then

I had food delivered to my hotel and everything was so delicious. Pasta and pizza were fresh, the mozzarella/pesto bruschetta was lovely - only problem is I want to recreate it now at home and don’t know how! Delivery driver was also super friendly and accommodating bringing it to the hotel for me. I will be back for sure anytime I visit Perth.

We were waiting for starters about 35mins. Service is really good. Good atmosphere.

We waited 90 min for our food and all we could taste was garlic. We had a better experience with this place in the past but won't be coming back after this.
