What a find! Group of six looking for a coffee and lunch stop and Rockets & Rascals was perfect for us. Great venue where we all enjoyed great coffee and a variety of the lunch options, all of which were delicious. The staff were lovely and kindly ran through the great choice of cakes, freshly baked that day. All were scrummy and we left extremely satisfied! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will definitely return next time we are in Plymouth. Thank you!

Popped into here for breakfast whilst visiting Plymouth for a long weekend, not disappointed & as a mountain bike rider, the cycling theme is great. They sell tshirt etc for the cycle enthusiast so I got one as a souvenir. The food was top notch & not very expensive, about £25 for two persons including drinks.

Haven’t ridden a bicycle in decades, but have got a boat berthed in a nearby marina and having been visiting local cafes for a while now for breakfast/brunch/lunches. The one we keep returning to is R&R, the combination of freshly cooked food, interesting menu and friendly staff is a winning combo.

Came here today with my wife for a coffee and cake pit stop whilst walking through the Barbican. We’ve always noticed how busy R&R is or appears to be from the outside whilst wandering around and today was our first time visiting. Both my wife and I loved the decor and the whole vibe of the place. It’s very deceiving from outside, in that it’s a lot bigger inside than you’d think! The merch and cycling gear looked awesome. I loved the art on the walls. Our coffee and cakes were top notch, we’ll definitely return.

Another return to our favourite cafe on the Barbican, which has now been enlarged, and most of the bikes removed. Service was very good as always, but we did feel the coffee wasn’t the best anymore.

With one half of us being a keen cyclist (and the other being ‘encouraged’ to get a bike), this coffee shop was a must when we visited the Barbican. It is comfortable, with old cycling tops stretched over the seats, and decorated in a modern style with bikes hanging from the walls! The coffee was strong and creamy, and the cakes fresh and home-made. Our flat whites were served in branded cups with the milk decoratively poured. The coffee shop doubles up as a bike shop, selling road, mountain and battery operated bikes (Genesis and other brands), and the staff appeared to be knowledgeable and passionate about cycling. They also sell gels, Mule energy bars, Garmins, colourful cycling socks, Cinelli cycling jerseys, tops and hats, cleats and helmets, as well as other bike parts. Will return (with each of us on a bike!), as there are organised cycle rides from the shop on Wednesday and Saturdays.

Great venue in a lovely part of the Barbican, and we have used for both social and business purposes. Half cafe and half bike shop, means it's a great stop off for any biker riders - has racking indoor and out for you bikes as well.

This cafe has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Service is a little unhurried. There is a good selection of cakes and coffee was excellent. Breakfast is good, a nice inventive menu, but wait times can be long and the kitchen is obviously not big enough for the cafe size and menu.

Interesting that there’s been a lot of interest since The Vault closed and the lease was up for grabs. A lively CBD cafe business called ‘Buddha Hut’, which started a year or so ago in Union Street then moved to lower Cornwall Street has now announced they are expanding again and have acquired the Mutley lease and will open at the beginning of November with a cafe selling lots of CBD coffee and food etc on the ground floor with the large basement given over to other CBD products.

Three of us came in for informal supper. Booked but not necessary, maybe half full. Deal of £25 for two portions of fish and ships, geared towards couples but we have to pay about £17 for a third. The girls serving seemed to be getting edgy towards the end maybe because there seemed to be a group of their friends towards end of evening.

Have purchased from here several times - both the cake slices and celebration cakes. Most of the time the cakes are great - light and fluffy, but have been two occasions where the cake was too sweet and did not taste very fresh (seems more of an exception), but will still be purchasing nonetheless.

The Chancel has been one of our favourite places to eat in Plymouth for many years. During Covid and a bit longer they’ve been delivering or preparing for collection. Without much thought or any foreknowledge we walked down this evening hoping it might up and running for their traditional bistro food and good wines. Very disappointed therefore to find it dark, empty and will a To Let sign. No hint that there might still be an online service. Pity and we’re sad. Many dozens of happy memories.

. Gran café también.
