the food is okay but the service here is horrendous and I don’t know how such people are hired if they hate their job so much. the vibe gives off fine dining yet no one checks up on you whne they serve the food. The waiters glare, and treat you really cold. AVOID!

Had the seafood bento box for a lunch date, and the servings were pretty average across the board. Tempura vegetables were okay, sashimi was fine. The sad water cress sprinkled over the mackerel was just depressing. For some reason a separate bowl of sushi rice was also included, which was dry on the outside and mushy inside. Puzzled by that one. The miso soup was delicious, however and was genuinely the best bit. Service was pretty indifferent and food took around 35/40 mins to arrive. Had to then hunt down someone to pay the bill and again was met with complete indifference. Suits Bath I guess. Wouldn't go back, but would absolutely bathe myself in that miso soup given another chance.

Superb food along with a great atmosphere 10/10 We were made extremely welcome our waiter Joe was a pleasure to meet and very friendly nothing was too much for him an asset to the restaurant. Would recommend yes would we return again if we stayed in Bath yes Faultless Thank you

Our second visit and probably our last. Despite fine dining leaning prices, it's nothing like. Deafeningly noisy on a Sat eve (though improved a lot when one particular table of Neanderthals left) and service as flaky as is regularly described on here. Very nice young hipster guy, but clueless about actually serving. We were served a dish we didn't ask for, and sure enough - it was on the bill when it came. The popcorn shrimp could have been great had it been fried a little longer, as it was, it was soggy and greasy. The lamb loin chops looked like a huge portion, and had a very punchy marinade. However, they were massively fatty and hadn't been trimmed at all. The meat was decent, but there was so much sinewy, inedible fat to separate, it made eating hard work. When my plate was collected - the fat piled high - he said "oh, are you finished?", as if I was going to eat any of it. TRIM your lamb chops. Leave a rind sized amount of fat on, and they would be pretty decent. All in all, there's a bit of an amateur hour feeling about the place. Worthy of an occasional visit only.

It’s ok experience hence 3 stars. The food is ok, not exceptional, overpriced generally for that reason. Unhelpful not overly engaging staff. They are just doing there job. Not great choice for vegans and only on menu. I’ve been twice and I live in Bath. I wouldn’t rush back

I rarely write negative reviews but I have to do so for this restaurant to spare anyone the horrible experience we had. Please do not subject yourself to whatever level of Hell Robun is in. My husband and I chose to go here after assuming that the negative reviews were overly fussy people who will look for any excuse to complain. We were so wrong!! Let’s start with the service. It took 45 minutes for someone to take our order, despite us trying to flag someone down for most of that time. It was almost funny how dramatically the waiters avoided looking over at our section of the restaurant. The table next to us, seated around the same time as us, left without ordering because they got so sick of waiting. We would have done the same but they’d taken our credit card info when we booked the reservation and we were worried they would charge us the no show fee if we left. When we finally placed our order, the waiter didn’t take our menus off the table nor did he remove our unused wine glasses. Not something I’d typically mind too much except that it was really the cherry on the cake. As we waited for our food I realized that almost not table around us had food even though they’d been there much longer. And NOBODY looked happy to be there. I mean everybody in our section was unhappy. So anyway we got SOME of our food after another 45 minutes of waiting. We asked to waiter for some soy sauce, which is typically on the table at sushi places, and he poured a little bit (really a very small amount) into each of our soy sauce dishes and then took the bottle!! What kind of sushi place doesn’t leave the bottle? The sushi itself was not even worth it. The rice was cold and hard. The fish was fine but didn’t taste fresh. Also the color and texture of the tuna was sus but we ate it and did not get sick so there’s that. The rest of our order never arrived. We asked for the bill and found out that the waiter never bothered to even ring up some of the things we asked for but there was no way we were going to bring it up and then wait who knows how long. I have never ever asked to take off a service charge in my life because I am someone who tends to give waitstaff the benefit of the doubt. Restaurants can be busy and waiters can be overworked. However this waiter was so rude and so completely horrible that we asked to remove the service charge. To his credit he did so without fuss, and honestly seemed very unsurprised.

Visited Robun for the first time, highly recommend, our server Joe was brilliant, very helpful with both food and drink choices, all the staff were nice and accommodating too! Both the food and drinks were amazing, definitely will be back again! Left feeling happy and full.

Myself and my wife got food poisoning from our meal here last month. Food tasted good at the time but we were very ill from one of the dishes. After making a complaint and filling in the required forms we were denied a refund! We had 5 people in our household that weekend who all ate the same meals except for me and my wife who ate lunch at Robun. Funnily enough no one else was sick so it could only be this restaurant's food. A note on the service, it was very slow and not particularly welcoming. The toilets were pretty disgusting, pretty much what you would expect at a nightclub, not an expensive restaurant. Final nail in the coffin was the price, we paid about £85 for a meal for two which included 50% off the food!

The food was good but I felt only one or two dishes were refined. The food is nice but I wouldn’t say it’s memorable. The waiter was not clear on the menu, when we asked questions was unable to answer and some of the worst service I have experienced. The decor and atmosphere was ok, we felt a little rushed with the food and the order in which the food came out was rather haphazard and there was no consideration to the flow. All in all I’m left a little underwhelmed by the experience.

Food was outstanding, lamb cutlets and crab were out of this world, service was great, Joe was our waiter he was super helpful and a nice friendly guy! really lovely first experience for me! Recommended 👌🏽

Food was very good. Problem was the staff have no clue what they are doing. The food came at different timed and the staff didn’t know the menu.

For my girlfriend's birthday, we decided to dine here, and it turned out to be an exceptional choice. The staff greeted us with warmth from the moment we arrived. Our server, Jo, went out of his way to ensure our evening was not just good, but memorable. The food was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a special dining experience. It's a must-visit!

Wow, just back from Robun today and needed to write a review...def pre-book as it's busy but we got a lovely window seat so away from the masses which was great! The service and the food from start to finish was amazing! Highlights were the crispy veg gyozas, wagu beef sliders, octopus skewers, sushi, and the miso soup was divine! Really can't rate this place high enough, went with a friend and we shared 8 dishes between us, the perfect amount of food. Thanks to the team for a great experience, can't wait to go back!!

My partner booked this as a surprise for my birthday. What a lovely surprise and a nice venue, friendly staff and good service. The afternoon tea was delightful and different, very tasty.

Our third visit, what’s happened? Is Kasae leaving the issue? Service was never a strong point but the food made up for it, sadly not on this visit. We do not like fish but the ribs and lamb chops we love. We were told there was no lamb, 2 minutes later no ribs either! Surely this is very poor planning for a Friday night! We were left with little choice in the menu. Our rice didn’t arrive at all and the £14.50 vegetarian dish was a joke! Chicken karagee was good but much smaller portion size than previous visits. Not sure we will be back such a shame .

Good experience with my friends at Robin. This is the first time we try this, and the food and service offered by Robun are really good. We are planning to go there next plan.

Disappointed overall, cold silent service. Food was mostly tasty and hot when it arrived. They advertise that the food comes out when it's ready rather than all at once which is fine for small plates to share however side of rice came out last so didn't have anything to eat it with. Service was lacking, cold welcome at the door. Staff unenthusiastic and not attentive. Waiting 25 minutes just to order a drink, no-one checked in to see how the food was at any point. No offers of more drinks. Plates left empty on the table despite staff walking past 5 or 6 times. Finally offered desert menus but then waiter did not come back to take the order. We eventually asked for the bill instead, then waited to pay as well. Overall atmosphere lacking, other tables near us also commented on the lack of service. Food was OK but overall overpriced considering the service and atmosphere. Would not recommend if you are looking for good service and atmosphere. We were very disappointed. If you were using a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea (£29.95 ) would likely be more satisfied.

We ate off the A La Carte Menu, which was very nice, but the two items we wanted to try, which were the sliders and king prawns were not on the menu that day. We had a Salmon platter and the seaweed was chewy and it felt like it was not freshly made and the salmon on top was soo cold you could not taste the salmon, but the rice was room temp. The atmosphere was not very good either, it was so quiet, it made it feel uncomfortable. One member of staff was wearing jeans and a jumper and look very untidy and was also drinking a can of redbull? This is a very pricey restaurant, which did not fit the staff dress code and atmosphere. All in all very disappointed with the whole experience, we would never go back and would not recommend it to anyone.

I didn't have a lot of money to spend and I was treated like nothing. the waitress looked down on me. There was ramen on the menu displayed outside and when I wanted to order it, the waitress told me with a disdainful look that it was only for lunch. so I ordered the sushi platter which had no taste, the wasabi was bland. (they are better at waitrose!!!) Very bad experience. prices are in addition service not included! and what service!!!! of course I do not recommend and should have read the reviews before going.

We've been meaning to try this place for a long time and had a reason to celebrate today so finally went. The food was fantastic, especial the sushi. The cocktails were exceptional- I loved the creativity, and they tasted great. Definitely on the pricier side, but it really was brilliant.

Visited Robun for a birthday meal, everything from the service to the food was great. The cocktails - particularly the rum rebellion was delicious. We had a range of starters and the popcorn shrimp was a standout for us. The lamb cutlet were perfectly cooked with a delightful sauce. Service makes all the difference and Angelina our waitress was excellent and knowledgeable, 10/10! She helped make our experience at Robun, would definitely return on our next trip to Bath!

Went here to celebrate partners birthday. We were really excited to try somewhere new. The restaurant itself was lovely and so was our waitress. Other than that everything else was pretty underwhelming. We ordered a range of food. Sushi was delicious and inviting. Lamb cutlets were nice but the sauce was so bland. Wagu sliders were dry and needed more sauce. Spicy chicken Karaage was yummy. Katsu curry was also nice and that actually had flavour. Ordered the king prawn skewers. 2 small prawns arrived that were so dry and over cooked I couldn’t actually eat them. For £16.50 they were a complete rip off and even if they were cooked well were totally overpriced. Our waitress was lovely and there were a lot of staff around but service was so so slow. No one ever came to check if the food was ok, we weren’t asked if we wanted to order more drinks. We had to go and request the bill ourselves after waiting quite a while but no one coming. Overall we found the restaurant overpriced and underwhelming. Nothing had much flavour and we both left hungry……. Our bill for the 2 of us was over £150 and we only had 1 round of drinks.

Robun in Bath is a very fine restaurant; the decor is fancy, and the service is very good. We came on a Sunday and got a 50% off offer on all al la carte food, which was definitely necessary considering the fairly high prices. The food itself was delicious, we had a wide array of sushi, all of which tasted fresh and expertly made, although the crab rolls were not quite as punchy in taste as they could have been. The main dishes were brilliant; the fried chicken dishes were maybe just above average and would not have been worth it had we been paying full price. However, the popcorn shrimp was delicious, and the sauce and quantity were great. The lamb cutlets come served in a dish filled with steam, and it is quite spectacular to receive; they weren't just pretty, though, and tasted amazing. Despite primarily being a place for food lovers, the cocktail list was extensive and filled with unique and exciting combinations. The special of the day with sake, gin, wasabee cordial, and lime was a particular success with our group! Overall, Robun is a visually stunning restaurant, and all meals were presented spectacularly. The food was delicious, but I do think certain items really did not match up to their price mark. I think we would have been disappointed had we been paying full price.

The food here is great but the service can be hit and miss. Today the door wouldn’t close and so it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant - fix the door / put some heating on!

was looking forward to this as present for the missus 50th . wasn’t especially busy however it took 40 mins for drinks not offered any water . When i asked where i drinks were the reply was i could find them on the system then i forgot . No check in from staff to see if everything was ok . The salmon was over cooked but edible , the prawns on skewers however were awful over cooked chewy and bitter . The steamed rice with seaweed was completely tasteless , everything else was ok but no more . certainly not worth the price hike compared to other local asian food establishments. The prawns were removed from the bill however this did not make up for a disappointing 50th .

The food was absolutely first class and this was in the absence of Kasae (Master Chef The Professionals runner up), I could’ve eaten it all over again (based on taste, not hunger). We went with two teenagers and there was something on the menu for everyone - although we actually ended up sharing. The staff were really helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend visiting.

Food was really really good. In the pricey side but you get what you pay for in quality. Good choice of wine and cocktails too. The only picky complaint would be the waiting staff seemed to lack communication between eachother which could be improved since youre paying the higher price, however the small service issues we had didnt take away from the overall experience

From the start - from the helpful lady with the the telephone booking to the delightful shared platters and lush creative cocktails - this was a joyous experience It was Sunday and (understandably) busy but all was a smooth experience Thoroughly recommended And credit to all who work there!!! 👍

We had a takeaway via Deliveroo. Unfortunately, the food was mostly cold despite the fact we’re two roads away, however, this could well be a fault of Deliveroo. The food was good but not great value for money. For the price paid, I would’ve expected something more impressive.

Hostess that showed us to the table was wonderful! Top quality Japanese food and a surpringly comprehensive menu. Being ignorant of the subleties of the genre we were helped by the waitress and, by WhatsApp, by a foodie friend in Japan,who expressed pleased surprise at the range of dishes offered.

The food at Robun was delicious! Can't fault the chefs. However the service was disappointing. When we walked in it felt as if the staff had already given up on trying to serve us. It was slow being shown to our table, and none of the staff looked like they wanted to be there. I don't usually complain, however for such an expensive restaurant I would expect to have been made to feel special. There was plenty of staff and they often looked like they were waiting for something to do. The menu wasn't the easiest to navigate and some suggestions would have been appreciated. Hopefully if we return I'll be proven wrong!!

There are two reasons we chose to dine at Robun: 1. We love Japanese food after we visited Japan during the cherry blossom season in 2023 2. The head chef, if she is still there, was one of the finalists in Masterchef, The Professionals Unfortunately, both my husband and I were very disappointed by our meal. The citrus edamame tasted neither of citrus nor salt. We ordered tuna hosomaki and could not taste any tuna and the nori was hard and chewy, we’ve had better from M&S. The tuna kaburaki was slightly better, although I could not taste the avocado and for £6 more it should have been better than the hosomaki. We were told popcorn shrimp was not available, but later in the evening the table next to us ordered this! Can only think it hadn’t defrosted for when we tried to order it. The seasonal vegetable kakiage was poor. We could only identify what looked like courgette and we had no clue about the other veg. In fact this was a small portion and the tempura batter was not crispy as you would expect leaving the dish quite soggy. The shirakuku chicken gyoza were comparable to the frozen Itsu ones we buy from the supermarket. They did have an extra kick from the sauce they were in. The spicy chicken kakiage was tasty but very spicy. The small shell crab was very tasty, but then it was the most expensive of the small dishes on the menu. We did have some steamed rice, one bowl was enough for two. This was very claggy and stuck in clumps, it neither tasted like fresh Japanese steamed rice or even sticky rice as that’s what it looked like. There was no taste of ainori seaweed in the rice as stated on the menu. I do not know if the food was so poor because it was Valentine’s Day and the chef was focusing on the “special” dinner menu, but this was definitely NOT what we were expecting. Whilst the waitress was attentive and apologised when we had to ask her again for water for the table, she did not seem to know what we were talking about when we asked for pickled vegetables. This is something served with every meal in Japan! She did, however, bring a small dish of pickled vegetables for us to eat. On a positive, the champagne we had on arrival was good! I have awarded 1 star as a couple of the dishes we had were good and another star for the waiter who brought the dishes to our table and explained to us what each one. It was an expensive meal for what it was and sadly we will not be returning.

We booked dinner at Robun for our first wedding anniversary while staying in Bath for the weekend, and unfortunately were quite underwhelmed by the experience. On arrival the staff didn’t even lift their heads to acknowledge us and we were left loitering for about 5 mins before the hostess actually turned to us and mentioned that she had seated someone else at our table. We were then given a table at the back of the restaurant with bright lighting and no atmosphere. We were eventually moved into the main restaurant after we requested a different table. The food was good, very well presented but no stand-out dishes for the price. I ordered a glass of champagne which was served flat, and I was quite disappointed that no special efforts had been made despite me stating the booking was for a special occasion - as many other restaurants would. Overall would give Robun a 3.5/5 rating.

Delicious lunchtime bento boxes with impeccable service, the best vegan bento box that I’ve ever tried. The carefully crafted dishes, including sushi and ramen, are a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authenticity. Superb tasting menu and very welcoming staff at Robun which is where we chose to celebrate my partners birthday. The wagu beef was a standout dish and I also loved the kimchi fried rice. We will definitely be back to try some more of the menu

Terrible service. Food quality poor for the price paid. Manager was not very helpful either. Ordered a coke and took 25 minutes to arrive. Total wait time for food was 1 hour even though the restaurant was not busy.

The food was delicious and well presented. I loved the chicken gyoza dumplings and wagyu steak the most very juicy and flavourful. Overall it would be quite pricey without the discount but delicious food. I had a great time and loved the atmosphere.

Wonderful experience trying Robun for the first time today. We were lucky to get a seat on walking in, but a reservation would be recommended. We tried the lunch menu - a meat bento, chicken katsu and some sushi. All were brilliant and to a very high standard. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Bath.

Why would you need 24h notice for an afternoon tea? The restaurant was half empty

This has to be the worst Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. Don’t get fooled by the fancy pictures - the food was beyond terrible and the service was very poor. Don’t trust me? Pay it a visit to see for yourself. For all of the ramen lovers out there - stay away from this place. The broth was bland/watery, the meat was cold, the eggs were beyond sour and it was full of big random chunks of cabbage. The broth was about 2.5x worse than ones you get in instant noodle packages (not exaggerating here). Yet they charge you £16 or so for a complete disaster of a meal. True story. I was also given a dirty spoon and put at the front which appeared to not be heated at all, so I was cold the whole time. I was also initially told all food comes at the same time, but it wasn’t the case - not a biggie here, but why give false promises? When entering the place, I was not greeted, nor acknowledged by the bartender who’s the first person you see. He clearly saw me and ignored me until I asked whether I had to wait to be seated or not. I was served by 3 waiters, some of who referred to me as ‘mate’ and ‘dude’. I didn't mind it although it was just weird to put it mildly. Lastly, tap water never arrived (until I asked for it twice), although I asked for it initially. Overall, the food is horrible and the place is beyond disorganised in every aspect. 0 out of 10 from me - not sure how can a place like this thrive in Bath.

We booked to try this place out and came with low expectations after reading some reviews, however some of our friends recommended it, so we booked anyway. Unfortunately our experience was pretty poor. Upon arrival we were not greeted by host or a waiter, we were just told by someone from behind the bar to just go into the restaurant, which was a bit odd, so we decided to wait by the door to be seated by someone. We waited a while before anyone would even acknowledge us and said hello, in the meantime we could see our name (full name) listed on the screen, so theoretically we could just say any name from that list.. Which is a little weird having a list showing to anyone who wants to see it by the entrance, not too discrete.. We eventually got seated and absolutely no welcome or anything, just got menus and no explanation of the menu, we had to flag someone to ask questions etc. I must add, I am not sure regarding the cleanliness of the table - it was dark to inspect it well, but our table was so sticky, my drink glasses were sticking to it, it was unpleasant experience.. It was a special occasion, so we ordered a bottle of champagne, but it didn't arrive for about 20 mins, I had to get up to ask for service and as to where our drink order was. When eventually someone came, we asked few questions, but unfortunately the server was new and didn't know anything about the food. She told us we are ordering large dishes etc. We were very hungry and ordered £42 sashimi and nigiri set as a starter and a combination of larger main dishes and small dishes as sides. The server in our opinion has messed it up and our mains arrived before the starters, with platter arriving few mins later. The food was ok, just what we would expect for the price, the black cod was nice, it all looked very good, great presentation of the food, but I personally was a little underwhelmed by the lack of advise on sizes and sides were not so great. Rice was very dry. When it came to clearing our table, one server cleared half of it and we were left sitting with the rest of it for a while before someone else decided to finish clearing it, without even realising someone has already cleared half of it they acted as if nothing happened, just asked how was out food, to which we responded it was good, but we would like to finish our drinks, pay and go now.. During the whole time we didn't feel we were looked after at all, no one asked us how our food was during our meal, no one asked us if we wanted anything else, drinks etc. We were just left to our own devices. The bill arrived at record time, we even joked between us to say they must want us out before we complain.. We asked for the service charge to be removed as the service was awful, which was done without a hesitation. But it just felt weird no one wanted to know why we wanted it removed, there was no one paying an interest to why we complained and asked it to be removed,. it seems they don't really care and are used to removing it. It's a shame, as if the service was even half as good as Zuma or Novikov, they might have gotten away with the London prices for the food. Not sure I would like to come back. The service must improve.

Excellent food, but the dishes arrived randomly with 10 minutes between my partner's food and mine. Also the restaurant was cold and the service slow despite it being a quiet weekday lunchtime.

Came here to celebrate mine and my partners joint birthday, I’d put this on the booking but there was no acknowledgement of that which is pretty poor. We’d heard great things so were keen to try it out, when we got there it was near empty however being 27th Dec this is understandable. The service, although there weren’t many people in the restaurant was lacklustre, there was no warmth, no friendliness and they were dragging tables around us which made us feel very unwelcome. We’d ordered a bit of everything and cocktails, the food came pretty quickly which was great, but it really didn’t live up to the hype at all, there are better pan-Asian restaurants out there which do what they do, but better. My king prawns weren’t tasting very fresh and the sushi was a bit flavourless. The squid and shrimp were tasty though, but they’re not difficult to get right. Overall disappointing. We had dessert and left not long after, we were the last table. It was just a pretty average experience and I would’ve expected more.

The food and atmosphere at Robun were top notch, the place was bustling even on a Tuesday night which reflects well on Robun as a restaurant. I felt that the service was a bit slow at times, especially between starters and mains, but other members of our party weren't that bothered and preferred a more relaxed pace. We were at the restaurant for more than 2.5 hours (party of eight). This wasn't a cheap meal but of course you pay for what you get. We had the £39 celebration menu which was good value unless you pay the extra £10 for steak. The steak was very good but the portion size didn't reflect the steep supplement. The other mains (especially the salmon) were much larger portions for no supplement. Definitely a recommended place to eat for a special occassion.

We came for the wagyu which is advertised but was sold out, they gave us another option but this was definitely not wagyu meat. Sake tasting was special . Overal i found it too expensive for what they offer

What a great way to start our new years eve celebration. Bella the waitress was absolutely fantastic. The food was amazing but her service made our evening unforgettable.

Lovely food and ambiance and good service from the servers. Our only criticism was the price of the black cod. We would have expected a lot more for the price as the size was just about the size of a standard fishfinger.

Excellent lunch. We only went because Wagama opposite was full. This was our lucky day. Delicious ramen, silky tofu and tempura stood out .Service a little slow but worth the wait. Will definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic bottomless brunch - sushi bento box selection was delicious, and prosecco and bottomless cocktails were top class. Just the right level of attentive service, and we all felt very looked after for a large party of women. Thank you Robun team 🙂

Not one for doing negative reviews but really disappointed with Robun!! Literally don’t know where to start?? It was awful!! I’m writing this 2 days after my visit just so I could take in just how bad an experience we had?? Will not be going back!! Waste of money!!!

Food was excellent and the waiting staff navigated us through the menu making suggestions and advising on the number of dishes. It's not cheap, but the food was good and it was a great experience. The restaurant appeared understaffed and the few staff were incredibly busy, so it wasn't easy to get their attention for drinks and food orders

Absolutely amazing, perfect service from Alexia and team. Food was delicious and superbly presented. Great to dine in such a brilliant venue , the bespoke artwork is a must see. Thanks Robun Team :)

Tl;dr: Don't order the Braised Pork Ramen, unless you've never had it before, it did not taste the best, but the bento and sushi is pretty good! I think they did the sushi and bento pretty well, it was well textured with flavourful taste, one that I'd go for again however, one thing that I must admit did not taste good was the Braised Pork Ramen, the soup itself felt very diluted, with not much taste of the miso itself and did not feel rich enough, the pork felt like it needed a few more hours to braise perphaps, the eggs though, were weird to put it light, the yolk, usually a flavour familiar to all, felt sour, maybe due to them adding something in it but it felt sour and unexpected, while nice and refreshing, still felt unexpected and maybe a bit random, in general if you never had this ramen before, maybe it will be okay for you but Overall, I like the other stuff but the ramen is like 60% there, probably a bit more tinkering would be needed, it was a good attempt though. Also invest in chili or chili oil to add a bit of heat, it may help a bit

Food was really nice here, but unfortunately from the moment we walked in we were met with poor service from our waitress. Had absolutely no enthusiasm and honestly seemed like she didn't want to be there at all. We also asked for some tap water for the table which we never received either. All of this for them to add a 12.5% service charge on at the end as well. Would recommend as the food was lovely but just didn't get great service from staff

Outstanding Japanese food - soft shell crab, yellow tail tuna and sautéed bok choi were highlights. Service was fairly rapid give how busy the restaurant was and there was also a tasting event in progress.

Impossible to book! Called and book for a table of 10 They said for a large party, manager will have to confirm and will call me back. Left my phone number but no one called back after hours. And when I called again in the hours of their opening times no one picked up. So I guess they really dont need customers. Shame!

We started off the evening with the tempura prawn sushi and the popcorn shrimp which were absolutely amazing. This may have been the best sushi I have ever tried. However we were let down greatly for the remainder of the evening. We ordered the hanging tender steak which was awful as the meat was of a very low quality and extremely fatty bearing in mind it was £29. It was also so chewy that I had to spit it out. Paying this price you would expect the meat to be of a much better quality. We weren’t offered any water when we were sat down and the staff had no enthusiasm and didn’t explain any of the items on the menu. They simply seemed like they did not want to be there. We also got the pork and chicken bao buns. Although the bun itself was good the meat inside was horrible and again of a very low quality which we were very disappointed by. I got the Kohi martini which was incredibly bitter and the coffee did not taste fresh at all but as if it had been sat outside for a while. The presentation of the dishes were also very basic. Overall our bill came to £86 but this was not worth it at all considering the poor quality of the meat.

Booked this place for a special occasion 30th Nov drove from London. The food quality was brilliant on an international level and pricing was good. The service was not the best a little slow and no post serving usual is everything ok check. The feel of the place was cold. I was expecting it to be full from what I’ve heard. I think they forgot the special occasion recognition part from the online, email & telephone reconfirmation communication.

Food was awesome, service was ok... slow, and although expected food when it was cooked, it came out at a very strange order... we had fries to start that we're cold, then nothing with steak. (Had to ask for more, which then came when we had finished) other than that, food was great!! Will be back
