Visited Comins today and had a great experience, for anyone wondering, they are dog friendly. A vast selection of teas, which can seem daunting but which staff/owner are more than willing to take the time to explain. Once you have made your choices and the teas arrive, you are then given an explanation on the best way to brew your tea (dependant on your choice, different teas have different brewing times and different teapots and cups). The pork gyōzas are fantastic and they are made in house on a daily basis. I also had the fruit loaf (called something else but I can't remember what) and this was probably one of the best cakes I've ever had. Overall, a great experience, the tea, food and staff all excellent and in my opinion good value for money when everything is taken into account. We will be back on our next visit to Bath.

This was a unique (to us) tea experience. My partner and I are used to a choice of teas - green tea, Earl Grey, Darjeeling etc. - but this was completely different: there's a tea list. It's rather like a wine list with tasting notes. The person was excellent - she didn't raise an eyebrow when I said we wanted just an ordinary English breakfast tea. Instead she explained which of the teas on the menu were likely to suit our taste. In the event I opted for Nepal Summer Gold because the tasting notes suggested that it was refreshing. And it's not just a question of having a tea pot delivered to your table and slurping the usual black tea with milk. The process of making the tea was explained - mine was different to my partner's - and it made me think of the Japanese tea ceremony. The whole process slows you down, makes you relax and just enjoy the tea. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have never been to the Bath tea house before, but we knew we were in for a treat. Stopped off on our way back from Bristol specifically to go to Comins and we weren't disappointed. The tea selection is wonderful, great and knowledgeable service and a lovely atmosphere. Both my husband and I felt so relaxed when we left, which we both were in need of! You don't feel rushed and can just take your time, enjoy your delicious tea and find some time for yourself. We didn't get food on this visit, but have eaten at the other tea house many times and absolutely recommend their cakes and amazing gyoza!

An intimate and relaxing environment greeted us as we walked in. We were initially overwhelmed by the huge choice of tea available but staff were very patient and ran us through the menu with expertise and care. Tea was served in traditional teaware and we were guided on how to use them. The yellow and green tea chosen were delicious and nothing like we'd ever had before. Both of us had the set menu for 1 and both the gyoza and cake of choice we chose were also delicious. Though the place wasn't full at the time, it never felt noisy or hectic and I truly felt relaxed there. Highly recommend for a light lunch involving a unique tea experience!

Evitate di comprare te online! Solo soldi buttati!

I had a great experience here today, as a Brit that usually just has a standard English breakfast, it was a new experience. There is a huge selection of single origin leaf tea, and the family that runs the cafe are very happy to talk through the options and have the knowledge that applies to each of their selection. Serving in different pots and cups based on the traditional preparation, at whichever temperatures fit the tea. We were welcome to reinfuse our tea as much as we liked, with a focus on taking time to enjoy the tea - I did so 4 times. Trying tea in this way felt very respectful of the original cultures, which us brits seldom do - and allowed us to focus on the taste of the teas. I left feeling refreshed and enlightened, and I couldn’t recommend this place enough. A really nice and special experience, please support this business!

Everything about the food was great, the whole tea experience with a timer was brilliant. We were given a great amount of info from the waitress about the tea and how it was made. I actually drank more tea in the hour I was there than I have done I’ve the last ten years. If you’re a fan of tea, this is the place to go! I was reminiscing over a trip that we actually took back in 2019 just around late December. Trip advisor doesn’t seem to allow reviews to go back that far. Most places were closed or had very long reservation queues as it was that time of year and as our first family trip to England over the winter holidays we did not know what to expect or had much in the way of plans. We had decided that our trip would not be truly complete unless we had a tea experience. As we wandered around to different spots we were turned down with the aforementioned reasons until we finally found this place. We asked the owner if he could maybe do an afternoon tea, and him and his wife were kind enough to oblige. His wife went out and actually bought extra ingredients to make the different food items, while he showed us the many different teas and their proper temperatures and brewing methods authentic from their home cultures. We tried several teas including my now favorite Pu’er tea. We asked all sorts of questions on the origins of how the teas were sourced and it turned into an extremely enlightening few hour experience. It was one of the best experiences of our first trip to England and will be forever etched into our memories, as we still talk about it till this day 2.5 years later. I am grateful for the flexibility and service provided by the couple who oversee this tea house in Bath.

Coming here made me realise that I had never drunk real tea before. My friend and I partook in a selection of three different teas, all of which were unique and very sensual. The proprietress Michelle was charming and personable and made my friend and me feel enormously welcome. In addition, the absence of music and Wi-Fi gives the establishment an ambience which is so often missing in our contemporary culture of incessant, asinine noise. There are a minority of us in this unbearable world who don't want to listen to someone's 'chillout' playlist while attempting to contemplate a delicate tea. Comins is absolutely at the top of my list of places to go right now. It's a very tranquil space with an array of delicious options, and good social distancing for those of us feeling a bit nervous at the moment. All the essential deets: - You DON'T have to be a tea expert (but if you are you'll be delighted). The wonderful staff are happy to pick something for you, or go through the options with you in as much detail as you want (I always ask for a surprise, and it's always great) - Expect to want two dishes and dessert if you're going for lunch, as the portion sizes are conservative (don't worry, they're priced accordingly); it's also good for snacking, grazing, and brunch - There are vegan and gluten-free options (cake options vary, the Dal is GF (and VG) without the scone) - Solo sippers are welcome; I recommend sitting in the cosy nook at the back. - Main tea room looks wheelchair accessible but the bathrooms (unisex) are not (they're down some narrow stairs) - Kids will love green matcha cookies, but I don't think there's much here to keep them entertained - Most teas can be steeped again several times, water is provided in fancy heat-retaining jugs When I'm feeling overwhelmed this is the perfect place to sit, breathe, sip, and have properly tasty, soul-nourishing food. When I'm relaxed it's a chill place to catch up with friends, or to treat myself to a ton of teas and maybe listen to a podcast! Don't forget to pick up some loose-leaf tea while you're there or online, it makes working from home (or anywhere) SO much better.

The tea choice is amazing and complete, with tea from all over the world (my favourite is Nuxalbari Second Flush - not only for the peculiar name) and the lunch choice is delicious (and definitely affordable - it's even possible to order bigger portions if hunger hits hard). Cakes are unconventional in the best way, some are literally mouth-watering, and I would really like to try them all given the chance. The tea room itself is cozy and relaxing, the whole place expresses a sense of peace that is hard to find anywhere these days. This is my favourite place in Bath and I can't wait to come back to it, hopefully soon.

We had dumplings and tea at Comins and it was excellent. Everything is home made and the owner is very friendly. Highly recommended

I really enjoyed my time at Comins Tea. You can tell that the owners really have a personal passion over everything and take care of every detail. We came here for lunch during the week — although pre booking is not required, it is recommended. When we arrived it was rather quiet but to our liking. We both ordered the pork dumplings, the Asian salad, daal and our respective teas. Everything was really delicious — and the selection of tea is exceptional. We finished our meal with a matcha green tea lolly which was very nice — not too sweet but deliciously creamy. And not to worry as you’re instructed on how to make you’re tea. Most time it can be re-brewed so you get your money’s worth.

Comins Tea House Bath is an absolute gem for tasting and experiencing quality loose leaf tea from many regions of the world. The experience of drinking tea of this nature is inspiring, uplifting and simply brilliant. Rob and Michelle the owners, and all the staff are fantastic and their knowledge of the teas they sell is truly awesome. My wife and I have used the Comins Tea House Bath many times including their afternoon tea package which includes savoury food and cakes as well as a choice of two teas. Simply wonderful! I now buy all my loose leaf tea to use at home from Comins. The tea comes in reusable packets and the label has all the information you require including the tea farm origins and preparation instructions. I cannot recommend Comins Tea enough! If you want a new tea experience then go for it! Their book ‘ Tales of The Tea Trade’ is an excellent and truly informative read and will inspire your knowledge of tea even more. Highly recommended.

My friend and I came here on a quiet weekday and we had a very enjoyable experience. There is a fantastic selection of teas and the staff take care to explain how best to serve and enjoy them. The gyoza we had to eat were also delicious. Really keen to come back for the master classes they run as the staff clearly know their stuff.

We came to Comins as part of a Savouring Bath tour. It was the perfect last stop on our tour. We were introduced to the tea ritual by Rob, one of the owners. He gave great insight into the types of tea, we tried two, and had some delicious gyoza alongside. We’ll definitely be returning!

Mate, if you like tea - this is the place. If you LOVE tea then it's not to be missed. They have a specific water temp for each tea. They're not messing about! They've clearly thought about this stuff. And they do dimsum and some other things but when given a choice between dimsum and anything, I choose dimsum ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I recently celebrated my wife’s birthday at Budo Izakaya, and it was truly a fantastic experience! The food was exceptional—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff went above and beyond to make the night special, accommodating all our requests with genuine hospitality. The vibe felt like a true izakaya in Japan, lively and welcoming, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening. Highly recommend Budo Izakaya for anyone looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience!

Making you wait 15 minutes to then be turned down because they don’t have a table, even though they just gave a table to another group who turned up after us. Extremely disappointed .

The “Bath Landlady” has done a fantastic job at the pub. Was a pub with a reputation of Fosters lager, and some interesting people. Now it’s cool, with an excellent selection of drinks, it’s been stripped back and now feels like a proper pub, with plenty of live music and a hip clientele. As a former Bath pub landlord, this pub is bang on

The food was spectacular. The sushi was the softest and most wonderfully textured. The duck was done off the most flavoursome and non fatty we've ever had. Service was very helpful and pleasant but was a little slow, she was rushed off her feet. An utterly fantastic and memorable evening and worth every penny.
