To Jim, who said he was “attacked” by a sandy coloured dog! Skye, my in laws German shepherd barked at you as you opened the door. There was no physical contact she didn’t even jump up, she was only saying hello, it was caught on CCTV and I was stood behind her when it happened! The Robin Hood is the BEST pub in the village. Please do not attempt to tarnish their reputation because you can’t cope with a dog saying hello! Great pub, great service, great fires and Indie the pubs dog is just a delight! We love it here.

A very traditional style of pub, offering bar snacks only. But we'll worth popping in for a drink. With a choice of 3 indoor seating areas & a beer garden next to the river/waterfall; but mind the steps! See how many ducks you can count too. Worth stepping into after visiting the museum or mill shops near by. Or passing through the village.

One of the last true drinkers pubs in Lancashire. The Robin Hood is a venerable establishment with a history going as far back as the early 1800's. This lovely little building overlooks the river Ogden and is one of the cosiest places I have visited. To be clear, this is not a hostile dive bar, nor is it a millennial gastro-pub which serves beer as an afterthought. This is an old fashioned inn with a log fire, a small bar and a friendly cat. Inside there are two small rooms and a darts board. There is additional seating outside on stone tables overlooking the rushing river below. You can park on the street and there is plenty of space, just be mindful of local residents. The Robin Hood sells local beers and good snacks. No food. A wonderful place.

are here a few weeks ago and the food wasn’t too great, it came cold and not very flavourful, i did also find a hair in my meal which i was disappointed about after reading so many good reviews. the waitresses on the other hand were absolutely lovely, so tentative and quick when we asked for the bill. the owners however were not very accommodating. overall not great- amazing staff tho!

If, like me, you like no frills pubs with excellent beer, plenty of room to stretch your legs out and a relaxed vibe, then you are in the right place. A friend recommended this place. To be honest, I'd driven past many times and promised I'd go in but never did til now. I'm annoyed with myself, I didn't go in sooner now. Anyway, here we are. The beer is brewed on the premises and lovingly crafted. I had a pint of Rossendale ale, which I am still fondly remembering. My mind is saying go back, go back. I will, I will!!
