Roberto's in Edinburgh, City of

never had a bad meal from robertos once in the time between being me born and them closing down, anyone who ever left them a bad review isn't seeing heaven. I'm not religious but i do think that their pizza was sent down to earth from god to cure humanity's problems (war, famine, etc.). Best chippy pizza i have ever had, not a dry topping in sight. Roberto always made sure my mum got her special fish supper bc he didn't discriminate against glaswegians. We lost a titan of saturday nights but heaven gained another deep fried angel. The greatest artists are never appreciated in their time and roberto's was to duart crescent what van gogh was to holland.

Very good value for money, delivered on time, food still hot when we got it, big portions. Enjoyed it.

The large portions could be seen as a positive, but I would've appreciated better quality food and cooking more. Things weren't hot enough; 5 minutes in the car and everything was cold. Heated in the oven (15 minutes on 200°C) the chips were much better. Steak pie was only all-right (for a chip shop), but spring rolls were really rank. They seem to be filled with onion and gravy or something (you would expect shredded cabbage, carrot, beansprouts at least). Not good.

Donner wrap was lovely, Donner pizza was decent but sadly the chips and cheese let the order down... very very greasy sadly.. but in fairness would put me of ordering again.

Good value for money, great portions, food still hot when it arrived.

Food was on time. Burgers come burnt and didn’t taste right and chips were cold and dry and looked under cooked.

Great service and lovely food, My chicken kebab had plenty chcken with enough salad. My wife thought the fish and chips were superb.

Great service, big tasty portions

Has been consistently for as long as I can remember been the single biggest cause of diarrhoea in the clermiston area. Truly disgusting please avoid or at the very least have a bog roll in the fridge before you indulge 🤮

On time, food hot and very good.

Delivery was meant for 22.20. I phoned at 22.40 asking about the order and was told the delivery guy had just left. He eventually turned up at 23.20. The bottle of juice was packed with the food, so I had warm juice and cold food. There was extra food in the box. I tried a couple of bites, but it managed to be both overcooked and cold, threw it all in the bin. Useless. A bad experience all round.

The food was excellent and the person who came to the door was lovely absolute brilliant 100% recommend

Fish n chips too oily and chips to dry, no sauce

Roberto's has been my regular chippy my entire life and honestly i think it's one of the best chippys in edinburgh, certainly one of the best reasonably priced chippys anyway. There are other pizza places in corstorphine that make you pay so much more for pizza that is much worse than roberto's. I've only ever had the special fish so i dunno about the regular fish suppers, but the special fish is really good and the portion sizes are great.

Food was awful. Both Pizza and chips were cold and hard! Looks like chips have been lying for some time and they looked grey 😳 Food is not normally this bad! But it’s all gone in the bin

Food was cold chips were thrown straight in the bin the sausage was stone cold and my wife’s cheesecake was like a brick which also went straight in the bin so first time ordering from there and will never order again

The portions are really generous, the food is delicious, delivery is always on time or early. The staff I have spoken to are lovely. The pasta dishes are massive and so tasty, great to order and reheat. I will definitely order from Roberto’s again. Cannot rate this place highly enough.

Hi was over 1 hr late and the fried pizza was undercooked and soft and they could not even cut it . And there doner kebab meat was horrible my boy never eat it would not order again

Food was over an hour late and cold I’m in a hotel room and have no means of heating it up .... what makes it worse is that the drive did not phone me as I asked and it just popped up on my phone as delivered ... it was but it was just left at reception going cold .... utterly disgusting service

When staying in Edinburgh for a few days we looked online for a chippy read the reviews and decided to try Robertos . Partner had fish and chips and I had burger supper . The shop was immaculately clean and the staff very pleasant . We were served right away and didn’t wait long till our order was ready . When we opened up the boxes what a good portion there was , Good to find a decent traditional chippy serving real chips not frozen ones . We will be back when next in Edinburgh

My meal was not hot I had to put it in the microwave, the fish was good but the chips were not good, my sons hamburgers according to him were okay but again the chips not too good. Unfortunately I will not order again, getting a home delivery is not cheap therefore I felt it was not good value.

Brilliant service and outstanding food

Just ordered a large order for family and everyone loved it. Not 1 complaint apart from everyone was full and there was still some food left over (lol) I travel 5 miles and wouldn’t go anywhere else. 5 stars from me and my full bellied family. Thank you so much Roberto.

I call to restaurant to ask a few questions about my order and staff so rude with me I never see in my all orders online same this place to me its a rubbish restaurant I spend 23 pounds and I put all food to bin and I give my 6 years old son ham and cheese sandwich

The chips were good but the garlic pizza was cold and my personal preference didn't like the spring rolls so I won't be shopping there again

stumbled across Roberto's by pure chance when on holiday in the area. Made to feel really welcome by the friendly staff and the food was amazing. The family all opted for different options and everyone's was 100 per cent perfect. Totally recommend and will definitely be back.

Went for a chippy last night & the food was amazing - so fresh and delicious. The atmosphere in the shop was great, upbeat and made you feel so welcome! The team work between them all was so brilliant to watch as well. Defo my new chippy, I’ll be back!

good arrived Lukewarm it was in a box encased with a paper bag probably then put into a cool box for delivery. Fish & chip shop should invest in electric heat bags for delivery.

Pizzas were the absolute worst. Won’t order from here again.

I ordered a kids cheeseburger supper with salad. What arrived was a heavily fried and battered beefy patty on chips that was immediately thrown away. No bun, no salad, no cheese anywhere. Luckily there was a pizza in our order so kiddo had something to eat.

Fabulous food big portions and arrived half an hour earlier than allotted time would use again.

They are using polystyrene tubs and you could really taste the plastic on the food, surely there is a more eco friendly container that doesn't affect the taste of the food or the environment. Chips were quite soggy. Delivery was 20 minutes late though they had recorded it as being delivered on the app nearly 10 minutes before they arrived. Staff were helpful when I called for assistance though.

Great service but food was cold, already cooked pizza had mushrooms thrown on top and was not nice! Half pizza has been lying around for a while and was hard. Burger bun also hard but the chips were nice. Had to pay an extra £2.10 just for cheese, thought this was also a little expensive. Don’t think we will order food again, food always seems nicer and fresher when you go in.

Food turned up late. I didn't get an option to add salt and sauce so I mentioned to have sauce on my chips in the note, when the food arrived there was no sauce and no film between the pizza, so my pizza halved was stuck together. When I phoned to complain about no sauce the lady said "has it not just dried into the chips". They were bone dry, I was then offered to be sent a tub of sauce to which I declined as my chips would be cold and asked for fresh chips with sauce and thankgod I did as it took another 30 mins for them to arrive. Delivery driver was lovely though!

Food great and hot slight error buttered rolls were not buttered or even opened minor mistake.

Pasta was okay but pancetta had weird taste. Okay kebab albeit a bit dry and not much sauce or salad.

Ordered chippy box. Came with 330ml can, not 500ml as stated. Chips were stale and old. Batter was stale. Burger was cold. Pizza was overcooked. The jumbo sausage was alright.

The food we had tonight was fine. But was disappointed by the attitude of the manager. I ordered on the app as they offer a 10÷ discount but I couldn't get the app to apply the discount. When I mentioned this when I went to collect my food the manager was not bothered. He seemed to know there was a problem but hadn't done anything about it. He didn't offer to refund me the discount or give me something to make up for it.

We decided to get a chippy instead of cooking as a treat for tea. When it arrived my black pudding was cold and the fish suppers were warm, l phoned and was told its because l had sauce on my black pudding that made it cold, they did offer to replace it but i said no and heated it in the micro, 😖

We have been going to Roberto's for a few years now and the food used to be amazing, pizzas were freshly cooked and were delicious. However the standards seem to have slipped the past two months or so. Ordered food at 5.30pm and it didn't arrive until just after 7pm, I called and asked if it was leaving soon at 6.55pm and was told the driver was stuck in traffic and was delayed and would be leaving the shop in 5mins. The pizza was awful (picture attached) I think it had been sitting in the shop for the hour and a half. Straight in the bin

Pizzas here are amazing!! Not your average chippy sloppy pizza! Pastas are delicious and freshly made to order in front of you!! Haven’t had anything to be disappointed with from the chippy side either. Decide for yourself 😀

Decided to try this place as our regular place has gone a little off. It would have been great but No salad or dips arrived for a £8.50 kebab which is a big part of the kebab for me. even though there is a request for garlic sauce on the order.

I ordered dried pizza supper crunch. now usually that's cheese and tomato. this had mushrooms in it! it never said anything about mushrooms! I'm allergic to them.

Pizza base unfortunately was rock solid and burnt, didn't complain as too hungry to send back. Delivery time quick, food disappointing maybe a one off though.

Usually I love robertos and we have never had a single complaint however tonight was a different matter. We ordered a munchie box and we received a delivery within about 30 minutes. We opened it to find something else. I called the store and to be fair the lady I spoke to was apologetic and sorted it. She told me the food was cooking so would be there soon. An hour later out food turned up minus the dips. The driver was also apologetic which was kind. This wasn't a good experience and the box wasn't as good as usual but I know this is a one off since robertos always deliver excellent food and service. I hope next time is better.

I'm not one for chippys but this is the only place that does chips and gravy. I was very impressed and not let down. Great food. Forgot my desserts but brought them right back in 15 mins.

I have to start by saying that i order from Roberto's all the time, and normally they are on point. Tonight however, they missed the mark in a big way. My fish was so dry that when i unwrapped it, it had actually cracked in half (genuinely). I took one bite, and couldn't even swallow that. Feels as if it was an old bit of fish that had been fried a while before it arrived at my door... Sorry guys, but i know what you're capable of, and tonight you let yourselves down

The delivery was half an hour late, the garlic pizza bread was hard and cold, and the salads had leaked liquid everywhere. This was not the first time they were so late, as a one off late can be expected.

Roberto's is a good chippy, the food is always at a good standard and it always gets delivered on time and hot..... its a good all round takeaway!!!!

This is the 3rd time my order has been messed up. I ordered garlic bread pizza with cheese and received what tasted like cardboard!
