Robby's Indian Fine Dining in Dudley

A curry house that recognises the difference between spicy and hot. Every dish was full of flavour but the chicken dish could do with more chicken. The shine was taken off what was an excellent meal and night out when I decided to go upstairs to the toilet. Curry houses should always have wooden floors. The state of the carpet upstairs was disgusting. Hopefully this can be rectified asap

Been there quite a few times with excellent service but last time everything was excellent apart from the service. Had to ask 3 times to order food and twice for the bill.

Top quality, well presented and great tasting take away. I want to dine in next time.

We had booked a table and sat down. Food was really good. My only thing was we were rushed to eat clean our hands pay. There were 6 people waiting to sit down. Funny thing is this was a Friday evening about 9.30 and the restaurant was EMPTY!! Felt very uncomfortable. We probably would have ordered deserts and more drinks. Same to spoil a good evening

Recently dined to celebrate my daughter's birthday we were a party of 4 and were all agreed that the food and service were faultless and I would have no hesitation in Recommending for a memorable dining experience

Family Iftar the night before Eid, we were a large party and the service was excellent! Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.

UPDATE 2024 Robbys has certainly turned themselves around, so much so that we go almost once every week. Great people great food, very authentic taste. Portions are a little smaller then they were but good value for money Great to see this fine Indian restaurant back to its former glory WELL DONE.

It's another place that we haven't been to for a very long time, the fact they are still around tells me that they are doing something right. Parking isn't the easiest but allegedly the estate agent's car park opposite is OK to use. The first thing we noticed is that the staff are extremely friendly and helpful which makes such a difference. It's a smallish cosy restaurant, relatively plain decor and clean. The menu is instantly recognisable Bangladeshi, so unlike Indian, you'll have a good idea of what you are going to get when you order. I suggest you have a look at the fridge before you order your drinks as there are a few more options than on the menu. The food was very good from start to finish, this includes all the sides. It was hard to fault but being picky, the poppadoms that were only 'just in' and a hot dip to accompany them would have been nice, that said the onion salad, yoghurt and chutney servings were very generous. The sheekh kebab starter was tasty, but we prefer the meat to be more finely ground. The chicken tikka and chicken in both dishes was excellent and the curries were full of flavour. I noticed the desserts were reasonably priced but we were too full to try. At the end, the bill seemed very reasonable for what we had.

Absolutely disgusting food! Batli was just tomato puree. Chips had a vile dirty taste, can’t even put in words what they stunk of and tasted like. Doesn’t even deserve a star!! Worst food I’ve ever tasted in my life.

Didn't have a very good experience while dinning in today. We were 2 of us and because we didn't pre book the table. They gave us an hour to leave the table free, even before we orderedanything. Ordered, Naan, tandoori masala curry and lamb chops. Lamb chops were salty as sea water and too much food colour and returned it back. They gave us a fresh one which was okay. I wish I could put up a few pictures. At the end of it all I asked for a finger bowl for which the waiter giggled and got us a couple of wet tissues. Even though we asked for a couple more the food colour didn't go from our fingers.

Please be aware of this place. food is horrible, waiting time +2 hours. food not worth the money. bill came more expensive than prices on menu. added themselves 10% tip. portions small. refused to give me a receipt. Horrible horrible place, been to many indian places. this was the worst experience ever. Please be aware people.

2 of us dined here last night. The food was very good and it was hot. However, the restaurant was freezing cold when we arrived so we kept our coats on til it warmed up a bit. (The table was booked in advance). We also felt slightly rushed as waiting staff tended to 'hover'. Towards the end of our meal, the heating was turned off so back on with our coats! I understand we all need to be careful with our heating but we did spend £66 in this restaurant. So, in summing up, although the food was good, the evening could have been much more comfortable.

Went in for a take away order for the first time. Nice little restaurant. I’d definitely dine in next time. Food was really nice. Very short waiting time for my order. Enjoyed the food.

Called to order a delivery. Asked to wait which I was happy to obliged . 3 Minutes later and listening to back ground conversations I decided to spend my money else where. This isn't the first time I've encountered problems with at one time was our go to Indian restaurant. Been dining at other local Indian restaurants and thought I'd give it another try. Food is excellent. Service is very poor! Again.

As a big fan of Indian food I’ve tried many restaurants in the area. After discovering Robby’s last year I’ve never looked back, all their meals have been consistently the best on flavour and service. Their dine-in experience is professional and exquisite, the best I’ve ever visited. They also have a takeaway service that offers collection and local delivery. Unlike other restaurants even their takeaway meals are of dine-in quality with the nicest takeaways meals I’ve ever had. They taste as fresh as they do when you sit in. They clearly take pride in their restaurant so I highly recommend Robby’s to anyone. Robby’s are the gold standard of Indian restaurants. - Jordan

Not been for quite some time. Atmosphere and service was good. Disappointed with the food, have had better elsewhere.

3 of us dropped in when staying overnight nearby and we really enjoyed an excellent tasty meal with attentive kindly staff in a most pleasant and peaceful atmosphere which made it a very pleasant dining experience. Most diners it appeared were nice local people who appreciated a high quality indian meal. Highly recommended.

Absolutely awful, poor service waiting 45 minutes for our drink. Had to keep repeating our requests servers didn't seem to care. Food arrived sporadically and there was a hair in the food. Didn't seem at all bothered. Will never return.

AVOID! I had the chicken tikka starter here yesterday and ordered mains, however once the starter arrived i noticed the chicken was pink inside and i then made this aware to a waiter who came across like he couldnt care less, didnt apologise and was actually very rude when i showed him the problem, he then quickly took the food away before i could take a picture and we waited ages before a replacement arrived, which ended up coming the same time as our mains, all of which tasted average/below average of what you would expect from an indian restaurant, there was also a hair in the mint sauce with the poppadums at the start, which the waiter tried to jokingly blame on us however it was long and curly like a beard hair and none of us have a beard, i honestly wont be returning. The whole place and staff have a very unhygenic feel about them.

Thursday night, very quiet, 7 of us came in, food ok nothing special, but!!!! The bill came out and they took the p*ss. 10 poppadoms @ 1.70 each. Average meal price was £13.00. Don't rip off your regular punters!!

Not the Robby's it was. New owners. The food was nice but could have been hotter in temperature. Staff pleasant, but not very chatty. Sat by 3 lads who were very loud and the language was dreadful. Staff didn't ask them to tone it down. We had gone early when families normally there. If I had a child with me I would have had to say something.

Never again, second time I've been disappointed. Ordered a beer, it was warm, not a great start. Ordered the food and didn't have to wait long. I had the lamb Naga, missus had the lamb Madras. My lamb was so tough I couldn't cut it, the missus was tender. Asked for some water, didn't want another pint, was expecting a jug and just got a small glass. Had some left so we asked to take it back with us, the mixed everything up in a single container. Food was ok but boy it's expensive. Never again

Just tried Robby’s for the first time the madras was nice and tasty and the chicken tikka jalfrezi was excellent, the food arrived piping hot.The customer service was the best I’ve ever experienced from an Indian restaurant the guy taking the orders was very polite and helpful and the delivery driver Kev called to say he was on his way and delivered exactly when they said they would when ordering. Very good food - excellent service.

Went to Robby's tonight for an early birthday meal with my best friend. We had a lovely evening. The food was gorgeous and the staff really friendly and happy to chat. Best meal out for a long time. Will definitely be returning soon.

Terrible!! Nothing like it used to be.. ordered a meal and went to collect, They ignored us and made us wait ages, not offered a drink or even a hello, like they have always done … young chap (quite rude) demanded we paid cash (but we was not told prior) and made out it was our fault. Then colleague tried to say we were lying. . Got food back for them to have it wrong, rang and again rude on the phone. Hubby had to go out again to collect correct food.. (other food now going cold) Food isn’t like it was so not sure if new management or staff.. but we won’t be going back. The old guy who used to carry bag to the doo, shake our hand and make conversation is defo missed.

Food was good and right sized portions. Food prices ok. Drinks expensive charging £3.95 for a large cola out of a large cheap bottle. Tables close together as a small room which we didn't like.

Shocking service. Over 2 hours to get a starter. Then when we questioned the bill we were overcharged for the drinks and starters that we had received. Will never go back again

Ordered a take away, was advised it would be about an hour. Called for an update after an hour and a half to be told it was out for delivery. 30 mins later it had still not arrived so called again. Told there were five or more deliveries out with mine and that the food could stay warm for 45 mins. Cancelled order - really disappointing

Service a little slow (we were in there 2 hours) but worth the wait.

Went for a meal with my son there tonight. Their service was impeccable, the poppadoms kept coming and the main course was excellent. We were even offered a free tot of spirit to finish the meal with. Would definitely recommend others to come here.

Just had chicken tawa and mushroom pilau rice. I must say it's one of the best curries I've ever had. Outstanding.! 👌

Food and service fine but was very shocked to be charged £5.80 for 4 popadoms when they are 70p each on the menu..... only to realise that £3 of that was for the onion and sauces. Have never been charged for these before at any other restaurant, so don't understand why Robby's feel the need to do so.

Thank you for a wonderful evening, where do i begin, lovely warm welcome, immaculate, cleaned after every customer. The menu here is unbelievable a vast choice of dishes. Our food was delicious, cooked perfectly, hot in temperature, each dish was faultless, beautiful, we had a varierty of starters & mains no complaints at all. It was busy, but to us that means good things & we did not have to wait long. We were not rushed at all, i hate this as i eat slow but here the staff were exquisit along with the food. All staff were on top form, Jay was brilliant over saw every aspect of our visit & gave a very swarve personal but professional approach we liked this very much so thank you, samuel was our waiter for the evening, he was exceptional top marks from us, he was attentive, friendly professional really impressed. Every member of staff looked extremely smart & everyone of them were smiling that made us feel great & sets a fabulous atmosphere. I also have to say when i asked for a bottle of rose` wine, instead of someone bringing it to me, here in this restaurant they actually present it to you correctly, ask you if you like the look of it and then pour you some in the glass, i was very happy with this as i review wine as part of my career. I will be recommending highly to my clients and will definitely be returning very soon. Everyone in my party were very happy. Robby's do a nice Curry. No faults, I just find the naan bread to be just alright. Well worth a visit.

A fantastic place for food and wonderful staff. We have used Robby's for years and through lockdown the quality of food was always on point. We booked a table for Friday and as ever the service and experience was brilliant. For a while everything felt normal. You guys have truly been great and we would always recommend Robby's as the place to go.

The staff were so friendly, had a little chat with us about the food and what we usually eat and different spices. Very polite and courteous. The food had a lot of flavour, very filling. Beautiful experience

Food was fantastic and the owner and staff were great with us. Even though there was a mix up with my main, it was sorted straight away and we couldn't fault the food. Tables seemed to be spread out to coincide with social distancing. Will definitely be returning

What can I say? By far the best Indian I have ever eaten. I love a Dhansak and its not very often they're done well, but my goodness, this is the best I've ever had. My partner had a lamb madras and the lamb melted in your mouth. Can't rate enough.
