I'm frequent on the M5 my experiences at this service station over time always been good. Their lost property team are efficient.

Avoid! After a long car journey I started to feel rather thirsty but to my delight I spotted a sign post for Taunton Deane services. Upon entry my eyes scanned the outlets desperate to find a licensed premises. To my horror the river was dry, not a single drop of alcohol could be found. Completely ruined my weekend as I had to do the remaining of my journey sober!!

How refreshing to visit a services designed for people who don't need alchohol to complete their journey ! No lager louts or rowdy football fans. Strongly recommend

Haha my son nearly collapsed at the price of a bag of Moam pinball sweets..I don't know why he bought them. Pop and crisps are cheaper in Costa than the supermarket there ! Toilets were fine which is the main thing.

Had a wonderful bite to eat and had the best service from a team of workers who were very busy and obviously under pressure to perform

Shameful. Dirty, unkempt and unhygienic toilets. What are you thinking?? No visible person to report the state of the toilets to and the whole facility generally in need of some serious attention. Yuk!

The state of the toilet facilities really lets down these motorway services. Cleaner was signing check sheet but not cleaning. Costa coffee delicious but dirty and worn seating area.

Is it not so bad if you there when everything is open but if you too early or too late there is allmost nothing

Do not bother in the slots if you like playing them. I played on 5 different machines and they were all rigged up big time.

If your disabled the 10 minute pointless walk to anywhere will absolutely please you. Absolutely no thought was put into this place when they built it for those that disabilities no one should have to walk round in enormous building like this just trying to get to McDonald's or go to the toilet, let's not forget the usual points like expensive overpriced usual Rubbish, get another service station best avoided

Great motorway services perfect for us

This is the last pit stop for me on the M5 before my exit, so I've ended up here more times than I can count. It's... fine. Not a lot of options, and if you're passing through at night, everything but the shop is closed, which is a bit of a pain when you're craving something hot. The shop itself is well-stocked, though, so you don't leave empty-handed if you need snacks or drinks. During the day, it's your standard service station setup - decent but nothing to write home about. Parking is straightforward, and the loos are usually clean enough. If you've got other options, maybe push on, but if this is your last chance, it'll do the job. Just don't expect fireworks.

Pretty basic. Good for a quick stop. Be careful on exit, because the way out of the car park is sometimes not instantly obvious and the outlying areas have potholes.

Just can't believe how expensive things are in the shop. I'll stick with the free loos....these motorway services have us over a barrel

Sadly not great poor layout doesn't look clean or cared for I did only stop for the toilet and coffee the toilets were acceptable and the Costa people were very pleasant

Absolutely appalling, rubbish on the floor, ladies toilets wet and dirty with taps hanging of some basins.

Filthy toilets, filthy food areas. Staff working hard but not enough of them to keep the place clean. Shame, it's basically a microcosm of the state of Britain today. Can completely understand the challenges especially with the amount of foot tread coming in and out, but the toilets really need managing better. Not my first rodeo there and it's always the same.

Too cold inside, food went cold quickly.

Big thanks to staff in McDonalds, wh smith and especially Costa coffee for your help and kindness after i broke down when leaving with an estimated 9 hour wait for recovery!

I am a frequent traveller to RoadChef. Over the past months I have always found the service to be of great value. Despite being very busy with demand I have always received polite service. They cannot be responsible for the demand, but they can be responsible for friendly service. This is what I have always received when visiting.

Traveling down to Devon overnight I stopped at the services for a much needed break at 12.20 am in the morning. All the food outlets were closed, both coffee vending machines were switched off and no one was in attendance in WH Smith's so I couldn't buy a drink or any food. I thought these facilities operated twenty-four hours a day. Taunton Deane you need to raise your game.

Popped in this morning and the toilets were disgusting. Ground in dirt and dust, toilets dirty, broken mirror and smelly. This is weeks if not months of accumulated grime. The cleaners and the manager need sacking. Put us off staying for breakfast!

Taunton Deane Southbound, a typical 1970s Roadchef building on the M5 between J25 (for Taunton) and J26 (Wellington). Not one of my favourites, but Taunton Deane seems to do everything well, even when it’s busy during the infamous M5 summertime peak. Southbound is a slightly larger building, thus provides a wider range of facilities than Northbound. The site does look rather tired/worn and is planned to be extensively refurbished in 2025, so this will be beneficial for customers using the facility. Taunton Deane South is situated directly off the M5 without the need to navigate a junction, making accessing the site much simpler & quicker. There is a Costa Drive Thru lane here, so customers can purchase Costa products without parking & leaving their car. This is handy in timed conditions & will benefit customers in a rush. Fuel here is provided by Shell and is very expensive, so I wouldn't recommend filling up here. The garage hosts a typical Shell Select shop, with a Deli by Shell and Costa Express facility. There are plenty of Electric Vehicle charging points at Taunton Deane, so customers of these vehicles can easily charge their cars. Chargers are provided by Gridserve. There's also a Days Inn motel at Taunton Deane South, offering customers an overnight stay. It's not the nicest hotel you'll see, but at least it's here & rooms are fairly cheap, thus affordable for more people. There are plenty of parking spaces for cars, caravans, HGVs and coaches, meaning it's unlikely you won't be able to park, even when it's packed. There's a good amount of green space surrounding Taunton Deane services, making this site ideal for picnics/dog walkers (no green space can mean you end up unsafely walking dogs around car parks). Now the amenity building itself, which appears clean enough, but not overly inviting and rather cluttered. A temporary structure has been added on to the existing amenity building housing an additional seating area. Good idea as it provides customers more seating when the sites busier during the summer, but it's unsightly & the seating area isn't used much. Along with lots of Roadchef branding, we have two outdoor kiosks, providing Costa and The Cornish Bakery. Good idea to have these as it prevents the inside overcrowding. Now the interior, which feels bright and functional, but quite cramped. We have a centralised seating area, as well as a: McDonald's, Costa lounge, Fresh Food Cafe and Chozen Noodle. Not a huge selection, but covers the basics. McDonald's pulls in enough trade on its own. McDonald's is by far the best value for money here, but doesn't remain open for 24 hours. The only store available at Taunton Deane South is a large WHSmith, offering customers travel snacks/essentials, books, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Costa Express. There is also a Jackpot £500 gaming arcade here. Never personally understood the appeal of these at services & I rarely see them use. Finally, the toilet facilities, which were fairly busy during my visit. Roadchef has recently added a Changing Places facility, allowing physically disabled customers to use more specialist, comfortable facilities. In addition, there are 2 baby changing/disabled toilets, and a large gents. With 9 WCs and roughly 15 urinals, no queues formed for these loos despite how busy they were. They are quite modern, but not very clean. Very much like most Roadchefs. Overall, Taunton Deane is average for a motorway services. Mostly it gets it right, with a brightly lit building, large enough to serve the crowds it draws, plenty of parking and good maintenance. However, the facilities are quite limited and basic and the site feels quite tired.

Excellent service station, well run

Good Food cafe did not open until 9am and then they were late. The magaer was also very rude and chastised a member of staff in front of customers. Disgraceful

Tables and floor filthy. Macdonalds run out of bottled water and Fanta on a Monday at 11.30am. Toilets all blocked and filthy.

I don't like to post negative reviews, I usually skip. But having a reply after leaving a 1 star rating, I thought I would on this occasion... Travelling home from Bristol airport at 3am after a long flight and needed to stop for a break to stay awake. I found all the outlets were closed except WH Smith. This wasn't satisfactory as I wanted a hot meal, rather than just a packet of crisps and a choc bar, disappointing and irritating. Clearly says open 24 hrs so I expected there to be more available than just the toilets and 1 shop. I realise it was in the middle of the night and not profitable to be open, so maybe you should close and not claim 24 hour status. Will drive past in future....

As motorway services go, this is very much an old, dilapidated, and lacklustre version. It is poorly set out, the choices are poor, and there are no inviting spaces to eat your food. There are only two EV chargers just placed within normal parking bays as an afterthought. Definitely avoid this place if possible.

It's a motorway service station, with all the usual outlets. Plenty of parking. Rip off fuel prices some 30p more expensive than non-motorway prices.

Can't understand why fuel,coffee, etc. is so expensive. It's easy to find the location. There are captive customers who have to stop, no narrow lanes or access issues. Beats me, this ol cowboy is getting too old.

Probably one of the better mainstream stops. I never stop Gordano as is disgusting. This place has the usual WH Smiths, Maccys, Costa and wildly overpriced fuel especially as logistically these places are the easiest and cheapest to access. Not that Gov.uk cares about the driver and allows such extortion

Dirty toilets, paper all over the floor, leaking sink coned off but also mud in that area(I hope that's what it was) thick dust and rubbish in the corners by the door. I travel often and this is the dirtiest service area I have been to. Costa Coffee in the other building was clean with good service but doesn't have toilets.

I want to McDonald’s and I ordered a cheeseburger no pickles on my cheeseburger when I asked for double, but they won’t let me have double

2.30am I popped in for a coffee to keep me going. There was only one coffee machine working but the woman running the place decided to clean it as I walked up to it. Managed to stay awake to finish my journey.

Visited 1130 Sun 15th Sept. Disgusting services. Mens toilets a disgrace every cubicle filthy walls and seats gopping. Bins not emptied tables dirty. McDonald’s chips covered in crumbs fryer not cleaned. Worst services experienced in a long time.
