Great place to stop for food and drink

Everything I wanted in a motorway services

Dirty! Flies in the toilets and McDonald’s area (indoors), could understand if there were flies getting in in summer but it’s October. Baby change table is gross, not cleaned in the hinges and it smells of urine! Toilets were filthy

Stopped in through Taunton today to use the facilities and grab a bite to eat, and I must say the place was spotless, even the toilets were spectacularly clean. We ate in the McDonalds and the food was delicious and the staff were polite. Big pat on the back for Taunton northbound.

Adequate!? Good electric charging points that work! Just plug in, swipe card and go to eat! Gridserve come up trumps again!

Very poor food choice . Only a McDonalds inside and a coffee chain outside. Not everyone wants Burgers and Coffee. Definitely one to drive straight by next time

Busy MSA, staff are friendly, and there is the bonus of the Cornish Bakery selling nice coffee and pasties. Really friendly people manning the stall, and there were at pains to warn me that my cheese and onion pasty had just come out of the oven, and it would be very hot... it was! However, the toilets were a mess, with one member of staff fighting against a rising tide of detritus! It had the feel of somewhere that had been suffering from a lack of maintenance for a while. Other outlets available are Costa, McDonalds, and W H Smith... with a Costa drive-through available as well.

Ideal toilet stop and maybe a.meal nice and clean

This is our usual family stop over. Maybe it was the time of day on arrival. Car park was full, especially the disabled parking, it makes it hard to sort out wheelchairs etc from just a normal car parking slot. The amenities clean and tidy and a good choice of vendors on site

Managed to find a place to park. Was able to walk the fogs and find somewhere to sit whilst having a drink and something to eat

Good car park and typical motorway service station facilities...fuel was very expensive.

Finest McDonald's french Fry's I've tasted in a very long time.

Drove in at 7am on Thursday 12th sept with the aim of having a McDonald’s breakfast, walk into building to see the McDonald’s entrance has been taped off but all the staff stood looking out, upon further looking it looks like they had set up a course for customers too navigate there way through to place your order (which at 7am is stupid because there was only 4 customers at the time) couldn’t be bothered to play the game of the McDonald’s staff so went to the garage and had a bacon butty and a Costa from there. I understand at busy times of the day they may have to control the thousands of hungry and thirsty punters but at 7am nah, take away the tape early mornings we ain’t all sheep

Made a short stop here on a long coach journey from Cornwall. This is a small services, but it has a large parking area with plenty of spaces, and you get two hours free parking. The ladies toilets were adequately clean, but a few of them were out of order. Not a lot of food options when we visited either. There's a large McDonald's and a W H Smith inside the main building, and also a spacious picnic area with a row of food kiosks - Chozen Noodle, Jacket Spud, Cornish Bakery - that would have offered more choice, but they were closed. Managed to get a decent caramel latte at the Costa Coffee, which had a comfortable seating area and friendly staff. Overall not the best services we could have stopped at, but okay for a quick coffee/comfort stop.

Much better than Exeter services

This services feels tired and in need of a refresh. Middle of a Saturday and most options/kiosks were closed. Is ok if you want costs or Mc Ds

4.5 Whether it's north east or south west one on the opposite side they're both very decent have more than the basics than what you need and it's a good place to let a dog out for a quick walk and to do their stuff plenty of parking as well

The most I can say is it's crowded they had paths and trails for nice walks just over all wasn't the best

North bound The food areas clean and lady in WH Smith very helpful The grounds are nice for stretching legs . However the toilets where discussing We always stop at this services and never seen it like this

Absolutely disgusting services Filthy, the staff in McDonalds haven’t got a care in the world, no pressure at all, yabbiting is obviously more important than clearing the customer queue. I thought I was coming to a welcome break, not a stressful break. I’ll by pass it next time. Edited: oh then went in to Costa on the same site & nearly got robbed Asked for 1 medium hot chocolate & a large, so I got 2 medium, joke

Same as every other service's. Did notice that none of the electric car chargers were working. Thank god for petrol and diesel

Toilets are very very dirty and smelly. I would avoid these services.

Toliets in the service station had all of the sanitary bins overflowing in nearly every toliet and then there are banner up about teenagers starting there periods doesn't show them a good impression

Good experience overall. They have a microwave in the baby food prep area which took my attention :)

If you don't need to stop here, would avoid. McDonald's is the only indoor eatery. £5 packet sandwiches from WHSmith next door the main other option. There are stalls outside but most were closed.

Dogs allowed inside and staff offered biscuits to them. Bins all overflowing around the site.

Stopped for much needed break, fortunately I did bring fruit and yogurt as nowhere catered for GF I didn't mind to much not many places do, guy in Costa very helpful and cheerful, it was an exceptionally busy day and all the staff must have been overwhelmed,

Like this services.. Not masses of options but slightly less commercial amd manic than some services

Place you needed to stop. Dont make any other stop, just route it here. Keep your pee and hold it tight till you get here because the facilities are above standards. I wish this is not in the middle of the forest so I can always bring my kids here. 😍

Stopped on way back from day trip to south west as did southbound on way there. Impressed with the changes from long ago I called in and again, everything is great for passengers. Clean, tidy and friendly staff.. Well done

Easy in and out access to the car park, Costa coffee and the usual fast food places. Clean and tidy, a welcome pit stop if needed!

10am on a Sunday morning and toilets were disgusting. There was an overflowing skip in the carpark with rubbish everywhere. Don’t stop here unless you’re desperate

Sunday 4th morning arrived at services 08.30. Ladies toilets very dirty. We struggled to find one clean enough to use.

Nice service station. But.l caught a bus loads of Black tourist Pissing in the Trees where we had just seen a Thrush and a Mole. I told them off. I was given a loads of valguar abuse. Not Services fault. Just Overseas visitors with No Respect

One of the worst services I’ve been in

I've reduced my original score as I spent an hour surrounded by staff with blowers cleaning everywhere. I ended up covered in dust, dog hair, and generally bits from the ground. The two operators, not only using noisy, stinking of fuel machines around the busy areas, wore no eye protection, gloves, or ear defenders.

Get your pasties from the Cornish Bakery in the outside unit. Delicious! Traditional and even the Vegan cauliflower and onion bhaji one are superb

Motorway services with Costa and WHSmith. Lots of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, petrol station and EV charging. Quite clean and tidy.

We stopped here during a coach trip, this place has various shops inside and places to eat. The staff were friendly and helpful

Loos are near the door and not a route march away like at the southbound services here.

Loo’s were clean, that’s about all I can say as that was why we stopped there.

This post is not about the services of Roadchef Taunton... but about the kindness and humanity shown to my wife and I, after I was taken ill returning from Cornwall. On finding out that I was unwell, the manager Jay, Liza and staff gave me every care and reassurance, comforting my wife and making sure my car was safe with no penalties until it could be collected. Going the extra mile, the manager Jay transported us to hospital, not going until he was sure I was being attended to....Thank you so much, all the angels are not in heaven. David xx

McDonald's was absolute chaos wasn't that busy when we arrived took over 1/2hour for two brk rolls Costa on the other hand was excellent 2 of us went and got brk there and was served straight away. And had eaten our food by the time McDonald's was served.

A busy services on a main holiday route, the buildings were clean and tidy with staff regularly emptying the bins. I visited the McDonald's franchise which was exceptionally busy with queues just to order food from the screens, after about 5 minutes I was able to place my order, I then waited for about 10 minutes and my food was ready to collect. We sat outside in the sun and although close to the motorway the road noise was not intrusive due to hedges separating us from the motorway. There's electric charging points in the car park and a fuel station although the prices are carrying approximately 20p per litre premium to normal fuel costs.

They have a McDonald's ! amongst other food places, easy parking, but it was evening. I would recommend this for a motorway stop.

What a mess outside, rubbish everywhere, untidy everywhere needs a good litter pick up day and lots of general maintenance..

Although it expensive there there is a great selection of shops ànd food
