Fab, cosy, quaint, and delightful owners. Great food, goid prices and very comfy. This is a hidden treasure, has lots of beautiful art done by Jane, one of the owners her food is as tasty as the art beautiful, stunning location next to the river, plenty of seating, outside, in the individual rooms or the dining area. Absolutely going to go again and again. This property is currently for sale as a going concern, i wish i was ten yrs younger and in good health. It it the kind of business you dream of, perfect

Disappointing ! Purchased a Bacon Bap and a Sausage bap. Bacon was cooked in the microwave, i think the sausages were pre-cooked and then microwaved. The place is run down, the grounds are poorly maintained. The owners were miserable, especially the lady that was cooking. Food hygiene rating of 5 ? I certainly wouldn’t rate it a 5, perhaps a 3, at best !

If you like things simple but very much just right then look no further. This is a funny little place and at first glance looks a bit down at heel. It’s tucked by the side of an average looking, pebble-dashed semi at the side of the river (quite canal-like at this point) in Malltraeth. We sat in one of several painted sheds in the garden and enjoyed homemade carrot and coriander soup (and I mean properly homemade!) with sandwich rolls. Mine was corned beef and my partner and son had egg. All were just as you’d make them a5 home and very tasty. Very dog friendly - the owner came and gave our dog a cooked sausage to eat! We believe it might be up for sale soon as the current owners are retiring. Let’s hope it carries on and in the same vein.

My waistline is grateful we don’t live near this place. We’ve visited twice during our stay, only being limited by opening times. Some of the best homemade cakes I’ve ever tasted - and I’ve eaten a lot of cake. Friendly and warm welcome. We had a good chat with both owners each time. Dogs welcome in the garden.

We cycled to Malltreath today and discovered this cafe at the end of the cycle route. The menu was extremely extensive, and it was very popular, so there was a bit a queue. While waiting, I watched the husband and wife team working and preparing the food. I was amazed at their pace and teamwork. There were so many homemade delights on offer and our cakes were delicious. I can't believe that they have the time and energy to make all this food when they're not serving. I can definitely recommend the scones and the coffee cake.

Happened upon this cafe while out for a walk when staying in Malltraeth. Blink and you’ll miss it, it’s away from the main road but signposted. Anyway it’s a little gem, quite old fashioned but in a good way. Great made to order sandwiches and also a good selection of pies and quiches (didn’t try these). Fab cakes so although we were full we took some home and they were delicious. Reasonably priced, excellent service, good food. Definitely worth a visit for lunch or tea and cake if staying in/around Malltraeth or heading for a walk in the forest.

A delightful little place! We've had their picnic boxes to go a couple of times. It's a lovely little explore to get to the cafe itself, walking through the cute garden. And inside? Well, you'll find a great menu with many dietary options. And the artwork? Brilliant! So much so I've got a little print of a piece of my village. The couple who run the place are really friendly, the cakes are delicious, and it's not often you actually get a salad when you have salad in your sarnie! Quickly becoming a favourite weekend treat

What a lovely, homely, quiant venue, after walking along the beach we needed a place for lunch, the missus who is gluten free found this place and we arrived and the garden is full of lovely trinkets and scenes, it's literally like somebody garden and has so much character... Then we saw the menu, what a choice.... This is the best gluten free menu I've seen in Wales, loads of choice, about 7 quiches, about 6 sandwiches and piles and piles of cakes and sausage rolls and the best thing is you can tell its home baked... And it's was bloody lovely.... It was so good we ate our meal then ordered more cakes to take away with us and maybe be back the next day... To the owners, don't change a single thing, your brilliant

We visited this place purely because of the reviews and so expected great things. Average is the best I can say and that’s a push! They do have a great choice which surprised me all home made frozen and microwaved while you wait. The food was ordered we found our place in the outside hut. The male owner kindly banged on the window when my order was ready and I could go and collect it myself!! I took the food back to the table and prepared to be amazed. Amazed I wasn’t! Mine was ok for a reheated dish and my wife’s apple crumble was raw in places, nice ice cream though. One thing that struck me was the number of signs around the place giving us orders- it felt very regimented. One way systems, put all rubbish in bin with CAPITALISED UNDERLINED sections for added authority lol. The best was in the toilet/storage area that threatened if you didn’t leave it clean then the ‘service’ wouldn’t be available for other guests! With uncooked/average food, too many rules and staff not prepared to bring the pricey food to your table we left unsatisfied and feeling cheated. We will not be going back that’s for sure

The cafe is not licensed but there is a good selection of beverages and tea and coffee. Everything is reasonably priced.Jane is also skilled at painting and her work is on display and for sale. There are other craft items to be had - knitted goods, etc. There is an informal atmosphere which really suits the surroundings - it is small inside but during the summer months it would be nice to sit outside at one of the picnic tables in the courtyard garden.

Fantastic little cafe serving a delicious selection of well priced meals and snacks. Cakes are amazing! Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. A popular haunt of cyclists and walkers - children made very welcome and dogs also welcome in the outside seating area in the garden. Cafe is cosy - lovely atmosphere with lots of handmade crafts and beautiful works of art to purchase at reasonable prices if you would like to take an original gift home. Not to be missed!.

We went to one of their special events and our experience could not be bettered. The cafe had been decorated to celebrate their Tuscan theme, the food was absolutely superb and Jeff and Jane were excellent and attentive hosts - the service was outstanding. The food was all home cooked and really tasty and represented good value for money. I loved the custard pie. Congratulations and thanks for a most enjoyable time. I have been before when there hasn't been a special event planned and on this time there was home made soup and gorgeous cakes on offer so I can't wait to return no matter whether it is a special occasion or not.

We found this cafe disappointing. The food portions were very small. The scone I had was tiny compared to the one my Son had but both our jams were only a teaspoon amount! The price of the pie/tart was quite steep considering the size too. Seemed to be more cordon bleu portions rather than cafe! The wasps were a problem but that wasn't the cafes fault. However the bathroom is and that wasn't very clean and smelt like a public convenience. Such a shame because there are others in the area that do it better and cheaper

We went as a family for lunch and the first thing we found was great value for money. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. Food was freshly prepared with ample portions, all home cooked. Amazing! And the apple and cinnamon tart is the Don, we highly recommend it.

We are local s,(born and raised on Anglesey) but we had never noticed the riverside cafe before , Tucked away down the side of their family home As the weather today was hot and sunny we decided on a ride out to Malltraeth for a walk and thought we would try the riverside so very glad we. Did the place is tiny but the welcome from the owners and young lady was Huge ! . As it was hot we sat outside in a very pleasant seating area l ordered the toasty ham melt and it came with a lovely salad and coleslaw and my husband had a ham sandwich again with salad and crisps the ham was thick cut and very tasty for both of us the young lady gave us a nice choice of dressings ,not in annoying sachets but in bottles at no extra charge !. With to large mugs of tea it was perfect l am not a great lover of cakes but was tempted by the array of lovely fresh sponges ! All in all it was a really lovely experience and will return soon with our allways hungry grandchildren !

Called today for large cod and chips x two takeaway. Cost £23.80. The chips looked like oven chips and were tasteless and dry. The large fish was in fact two small fillets joined together side by side and battered. On first glance it looked like a large fish but the flesh was only quarter of an inch deep so there were no lovely flakes of cod which you expect when you pay for a large portion, what little cod flesh there was was dry and crumbly.

WOW....What a wonderful place. Fantastic meals! We were staying nearby with family and meeting up with local family, so got to go here three times. Sunday lunch was brilliant, my husband and I are both vegetarians, so the mushroom wellington with roast veggies was really great value. We also had the mushroom wrap which I enjoyed so much one lunch time that I had it again a few evenings later. ALL the staff were lovely and helpful, even gave us a takeaway veg for the Sunday vegetables that were left, so had bubble and squeak the next night at the rental cottage! The only thing I would say is they either need larger plates or smaller portions!! LOL
