£18 for a spanish tortilla with salad. Personally, I would prefer something a bit more basic. Edible but too 'green'.

Asparagus is in season and Chris has come up with some delicious options. Difficult to decide what to choose off the menu! Asparagus quiche was delicious and my wife chose the Wellington her go to favourite. My labrador loved his treats as well!

I have eaten here many times and I can say it is by far the best vegan/vegetarian place in Norwich. The food is freshly prepared, the drinks menu is good and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. My friends and I have eaten and stayed chatting well beyond our meal and there is not a smidgen of pressure to leave. I thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely veganuary 3 course vegan lunch to celebrate my birthday. So many delightful tastes. We are quite picky when we go out to restaurants but we had no complaints what so ever! A real occasion for us celebrated in style. River Green will also suit normal day meals, meet ups etc definitely a place to visit again!

Menu does not match the food. The crispy patatas bravas were not crispy. Just call them potatoes in sauce. The dumpling stew was very spicy but nothing in the menu would indicate it was going to be spicy. My wife was really disappointed. The mushroom wellington was mostly pastry with not a lot of mushroom, which is normally the opposite of a wellington. Just call it mushroom and leek pastry. Not as posh I know. The peanut blondie had raisins in it. I hate raisins and would not have ordered it if they mentioned this in the menu. The quality of the ingredients, service and ambient was good. A pain to find a place to park.

Without a doubt, the best vegan meal I have ever had. Good value too: this month on Thursdays, you order starters and main and get dessert for free. Imaginative and distinctive dishes: we wanted to order one of everything. On street parking can be difficult.

Wonderful vegan menu, cooked to perfection. For someone with a dairy allergy, this means nothing is off limits, which is lucky because everything is tempting. Whether you're a vegan (for whatever reason) or not, you're assured of some lovely food. Still as wonderful as ever on my latest visit. Another visit today and some great menu additions/changes. This restaurant continues to impress and you don't have to be a vegan to enjoy vegan food 🙂

We were lucky enough to have our wedding reception here last month. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Chef Chris and manager Katie were fantastic, working with us to get everything exactly the way we wanted it - even drawing an incredible bespoke welcome scene on their blackboard! The food was perfect, and vegan and non-vegan guests alike were astounded by how delicious it was. My new husband and I even went back a few weeks later to relive the menu! Thank you so much from all of our for making the evening so special ❤️

Returned for a Christmas work dinner for my team. Everyone raved about the food, even though they weren't all vegetarian, and the 2 who had the mulled wine (which the restaurant makes) said it was the best they've ever had! The vegan haggis and vegan Japanese dish and cauliflower manchurian were especially appreciated 👏

We really enjoyed our meal here and there was a great menu to choose from (all vegan!!). Our mains and desserts were delicious and they even gave us a slice of brownie as it was my birthday! This was a nice surprise. We look forward to visiting next time we are in Norwich and will make sure to bring our dog :) The staff and chef were also very friendly and attentive. Please support this lovely restaurant - it’s not often you find good vegan options.

What a scrummy dinner. We shared the Burrito and the Thai dish. We had toffee sponge and toffee sauce to share. A vegan delight.

Fantastic meal. Neither of us are vegetarian or vegan but that didn't stop this being the best meal we have had since moving to the area four years ago. So fresh, full of flavour and all served in a lovely light, airy atmosphere.

Did not expect to find this lovely restaurant in its location. We visited in the evening and parking was curb side right outside and free. It's worth the extra drive from outside of Norwich, especially for this.

All 4 of us enjoyed our evening meal. Good and varied choice on the menu, using local produce. Very nice dessert list to choose from. Can highly recommend.

This place is fabulous. The most wonderful vegetarian/vegan meals are served in pleasant surroundings by friendly, helpful staff. I cannot recommend too highly or wait to return!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch, which was also gluten free. Kids meals available half the normal price, which was fab. The only disappointment was the portion of veg with our roast: three green beans, one broccoli floret and 2 small slices of courgette seemed a bit mean for an £18 roast dinner. Ironically, you'd get more veg at a non-veggie place!

We went for our wedding anniversary and were absolutely stunned by the food. So excited about this restaurant we don’t know where to start! The staff were outstanding and so welcoming. I am disabled and can say that the tables are so well spaced out my mobility was not a problem at all. The food well this surpassed our expectations we chose cauliflower Manchurian and Panelle chips with aoli Followed by okonomiyaki Gooseberry crumble and raspberry sundae Everything was absolutely delicious the okonomiyaki was the highlight for us never have we eaten such delicious tofu! So much detail and care has clearly gone in to everything right down to the alcohol free wine the best one I have ever tasted. Thank you Chris and team for such a lovely evening, for being so welcoming and most of all such outstanding food!

Really fantastic food, so tasty, imaginative, and lots of variety on the plate. Good size portions, and decent value for the quality! Service also very good. The "example menu" on the website doesn't quite do justice to the options actually available, in my opinion. Pretty much scraped the plate clean with both the African peanut curry and the chocolate and raspberry brownie. I'd had a slightly disappointing experience many years ago, so was very glad to have come back, and will return again when in Norwich!

We had the cauliflower starter, Japanese pancake main, and tofu ‘ish cake main. All were cooked to perfection, delicious, and original. We loved it!

What an amazing find! We're in the area for the open water swimming competition tomorrow and found this absolute peach of a place very close by. So much incredible choice. Food so so impressive. Everything is either gluten free or can be made gluten free. And very dog friendly. Considering coming back tomorrow after the competition.

My new favourite restaurant. Met my children there today. Very welcoming and dog friendly. We were seated in comfy round sofa area. Without doubt, the best vegan food I've had in Norfolk. Even better was most of the menu was gluten free or GFO. As Coeliac that gave me confidence in their understanding of GF. Look forward to my next visit 👌

Reeeeeeally good veggie food and brilliant wine menu

*By far* the best vegan restaurant I've been to, no exaggeration. Menu is creative and interesting- only a small selection, but everything available is made with thought and effort. And it's great I'm not overwhelmed with choice. The ambiance is lovely, with huge windows overlooking a scenic village. Chill music and fab decor/art. I got the glazed okonomiyaki without rice and my friend got the fava burger. My dish is what drew me to the restaurant in the first place and it certainly lived up to expectations. I had a smaller portion than I thought I might, but the food was so good that I was perfectly satisfied. The dressing on the salad was delicious! My friend was very enthusiastic about her burger and was really impressed with the flavour. She was also glad to get vegan brioche. The chips were the proper stuff. The deserts were also to die for and the vegan cream liqueur (sold in store) was SO delicious. Loads of interesting sorbet flavours I wanted to try. Katie, our server, was super attentive and warm. :) We spent £30 a person, so a treat for us, but we are absolutely certain we'll come back and try the Wellington, the delicious sounding starters or whatever new and exciting there may be! 6/5, recommending to everyone

I'm not a vegan but I had a very nice meal, I would definitely go again. Servers were very polite and friendly. It would have been nice to have table cloths on the table, the bare table tops cheapened the experience a little.

I've never had a better vegan meal. All of the food I ordered had clearly prepared with care and thought. The price point is on the more expensive side but is well worth it. I cannot stress enough just how amazing this experience was.

I went here just over a couple weeks ago for my birthday. We were a party of 4 and got sat on a really beautiful, fairy lit round table which we couldn’t believe was so lovely. The staff were brilliant. All very attentive and personable. We felt very cared for throughout the evening, it was fabulous service. So much so I’ve kept meaning to leave this review. They left quite the impression. Our table were 2 vegans and 2 meat eaters and all of us were extremely pleased with the food. I tried bits of each meal and have to say the Glazed Okonomiyaki was beautiful, the pancake was insane. What really was a treat was the slice of cake they brought out for me after discovering it was my birthday at the end. They made my evening feel truly special and left us all singing their praises. We will be coming back and recommending them to anybody and everybody. Thank you so much Rivergreen for a truly memorable evening, we had the most fabulous time.

It was very nice I was not impressed with the fact the kitchen staff were not yelling at each other and shouting “behind!” And “corner!” Like in ‘Chicago Bear’ the new series but other than that my kimchi pancake was an 8.5/10 which is pretty good by my standards.

Delicious food, really inventive ingredients including British grown pulses and tasty chutneys and salads. Ice creams and sorbets were very nice: blood orange sorbet was a favourite.

I haven't been here since 2015.... It's lovely. The food may be a little on the pricey but it's worth it. We came here for a date lunch and we'll be back with friends. 10 out of 10

Christmas Cookery Class - I attended this last night and it was fabulous! My second course here, and it was even better this time as there is a special room for teaching. Chris the chef is very knowledgeable and a relaxed, informed teacher, and it's only a small group (who were lovely). You don't do much hands-on cooking but you get to eat the food made, and we came home with something too (don't eat before you go). Thank you Chris and Colette :-) ps. book fast if you want to go to any of the courses.

First things first, the food is brilliant. None of us 4 were vegans yet we were all delighted by the meals we had. The Wellington, Okonimiyaki, Leek Tart and Katsu all exceeded our expectations. I would say you have more reason to go here and experience true plant based eating if you aren't vegan. Our desserts were also delicious, the Sundae, affogato and pear brownie. The chef also came out to say hello, which was lovely. The only things that were more towards average were the speed of service in front of house and the atmosphere. Nothing special there. I definitely want to go back and try more of the dishes, especially the Christmas menu! Compliments to the chef, you really stand out from the rest.

I couldn’t believe the absolute deliciousness of the menu! The dish I chose was Japanese and had won a prize. It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Nice casual atmosphere, friendly staff. We were a party of 12 and we all had a wonderful time.

What a great restaurant! Everything was really lovely. The place is cosy and welcoming, the toilets were spotless (and unisex! Yay for inclusivity!) . The food was also delicious, I really struggled to decide what to pick as everything was interesting and appealing. The waiters were the perfect amount of warmth and presence without being suffocating. Really recommend a visit, thank you for a lovely experience ❤️

Brought my son here for his birthday as really enjoyed previous visit. Dog friendly which is great and enough room for our ex racing Greyhound Bob to layout. Had his own water bowl and special treats. Will be recommending to all my houndie friends.

Great restaurant - delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and good value. Three of us had the mushroom wellington, and this was excellent, and one of us went for the katsu squash, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The chocolate sundae and apple, date and ginger crumble are also highly recommended. I'm very much not a vegan but I'd definitely eat here again.

Wow, what a find! Found this place from Trip Advisor reviews as wanted a nice place for dinner for a date who is vegetarian and this restaurant did not disappoint. The menu is very varied and not at all main stream, with some interesting creations on there. The menu changes frequently and the meals we ordered were so full of flavour and worked so well. I am a non-vegetarian and usually not a big fan of that cuisine, but the dishes here were so flavourful, delightful in fact. All topped off with attentive, personal staff who made this whole evening very, very enjoyable.

Had a really lovely meal here. The food was excellent, the atmosphere very pleasant and the staff very friendly and helpful. I had the Japanese tofu pancakes which were delicious and my partner really enjoyed the weekday roast with all the trimmings. We managed to fit in the chocolate torte for pudding which was beautifully done. Whether you are vegan or not this place is a real treat.

Our organisation was looking for a quality vegan restaurant to host a private dinner. Chris and the team created a fantastic three-course meal for 30 of our guests, opened the restaurant specially for us and could not have been more accommodating from start to finish! Would highly recommend this restaurant for functions and can't wait to come back!

This was our first visit to the restaurant and it won't l be our last. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table and asked if it was ok. I got the feeling that if it wasn't they would have done everything they could to accommodate us. The restaurant was clean and the background music wasn't intrusive. The waitress was cheery but not over bearing. When the food came all I can say is WOW. I had the mushroom Wellington and it was amazing. The pastry was light and full of mushrooms. The vegetables and potatoes were perfectly cooked. You could tell the produce was freshly prepared and had not sat in water for ages. We went to this restaurant because my daughter is vegan but my husband is a real meat eater. I am pleased to say that he also was delighted with his meal and praised all aspects of our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Very disappointing. The portions were tiny and bulked up with lettuce leaves. The food was bland. A tiny portion of rice that had the look and taste that it had been reheated over and again. There were more lettuce leaves than anything else on the plate...Not even any dressing on it. No dressing or oils provided on the table, not even salt & pepper. We don't have big appetites, but after spending £29 a head, we left the place still hungry!! that's not good enough. Definitely won't be returning!!

One of the best vegan meals I have had! See if this makes your mouth water: Glazed Okonomiyaki - Slices of a vegan Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) made with shredded vegetables, noodles, tofu, tempura scraps, mushrooms. Glazed in a sweet and sour mushroom okonomi sauce, served with black rice, homemade pickles, salad, celeriac remoulade, special mayo, crispy kale ‘seaweed,’ cauliflower kimchi, and tempura ....followed by quince and almond tarte tartin and toffee icecream! Wow! Can't wait to go back! Loads of other delicious things - you'd never miss meat and dairy if all vegan food was this good! Good service and very reasonable price for such excellent food. Thank you River Green!

Wow! Amazing meals at RG - both my friend and I were delighted that the food exceeded our expectations of the menu. I had the lovely, filling brunch. The (nut free) roast was superb and such a nice change from ready made fake sausages/bacon. The scrambled tofu was on point as were the homemade baked beans. Glazed Okonomiyaki was my friend's choice - he was equally blown away. I had a sample and regreted I couldn't have ordered that too. An excuse to come back. Damn! :D We barely talked while eating our Quince tarte tatins, which probably tells you how superb they were.

We've been to Rivergreen a few times now and have enjoyed every experience. There are a range of options to suit different tastes and I always find the meals so full of flavour. Often vegan food isn't worth eating out for as it's normally not the best quality but the food at Rivergreen is such good quality and the ingredients are so fresh and full of flavour. I love that they use locally grown ingredients. The restaurant is lovely and has a relaxed feel. I find it very sensory friendly and is never too overwhelmingly busy and love being able to see put over the park through the big windows.

This place is cooks badass. 👊 My otherwise non-vegan friend’s thoughts on the food: Cauliflower was AH. I’m trying to find the words. Like… It… had a very strong, erm… delicious taste of turmeric that balanced well with the sour sauce with it. The patatas bravas with the hint of paprika and fried green onions… and oh-my-dog the whole… Sunday roast centrepiece that used beetroot and dog-knows-what was just… mind blowing. This is one of the best Sunday roasts I ever had, and I don’t just mean the vegan ones… wow.

What a delightful and friendly restaurant we have found! Lovely menu selection to cater for all tastes whether it be a small snack or a threee course meal. Our lunch could not be faulted and were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Next time we will sample the desserts! 9/10
