Nice place between St. John's Wood and Maida Vale. Original dishes that are well cooked. Not the least expensive Indian in the world, but delicious. Met the owner's father and chatted a bit about business/how to grow....very nice folks.

Ordered a take away: after much anticipation didn’t enjoy it all. Food was over cooked and not enjoyable. And overpriced for what you get. I would hope that the restaurant would take this seriously as I won’t be coming back.

Used to be delicious - and we used to order all the time but today it was so disappointing. Tiny portions (4 pieces of chicken for £22 takeaway), and swimming in oil and so greasy. Also tasted sweet which is really inauthentic. It used to come in beautiful containers, now all plastic. Won’t be ordering again

We wanted to visit Ritu for a while due to its high ratings, however last minute booking for a group of 6 never worked out because the restaurant is fairly small and popular. Finally we got lucky and managed to book a table to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant lives up to its reputation (and our expectations) - small and cozy, quiet, with polite service and good quality food. Things to keep in mind: * book in advance - the place is popular * fairly compact layout - there is no room for running around * reasonable, but not enormous, selection of options * relatively pricey (£300 for 6 people having mains and several starters, without alcohol) We enjoyed our visit - thank you!

Amazing Indian food in North London - Some of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a more up market style Indian which is reflected in the prices however it’s certainly worth it compared to typical run of the mill curry houses in my opinion. The quality of the ingredients is obvious, and there are unique flavours and styles of dishes including the Lamb Gosht which was incredible and the Naan breads which were a standout too. Lovely staff , great decor and also nice cocktails too. Will be back!

Beautiful place, food is hit and miss. The butter chicken was solid, the goat stew had no flavour outside of spiciness. Food took 1.5 hrs to be served with no attempts to make up for it. A pretty bad experience for a pricey place despite the cozy decor.

Looking for Indian while walking Abbey Road. Don't know the connection, but glad we found this restaurant. We were asked if we had a reservation (we didn't) but we were immediately seated. My wife had the Tandoori Chicken and I had the Roganjosh. Both dishes were well presented, so much so that my wife had to take a picture of her's. Though we didn’t get the names those waiting on us, everyone working there on 5/4/2024 were very attentive and we couldn’t have had a better meal.

Absolutely delighted with my dining experience at Ritu London! From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect stage for an evening of culinary delights. But it was the food that truly stole the show. As someone who appreciates authentic Indian cuisine, I must say, Ritu exceeded all expectations. The butter chicken was simply divine, bursting with rich flavors and cooked to perfection. Each bite was a symphony of taste that left me craving for more. The attention to detail in every dish showcased the chef's dedication to quality and authenticity. Moreover, the service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Without a doubt, Ritu has earned its place as my go-to spot for Indian food in London. Highly recommended to all food enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable culinary journey!

We went to Ritu for the first time as we heard through family it was great food. We were beyond disappointed. 1) the service was extremely slow. It took ages for us to get our starters. 2) food- we ordered chicken kebabs which came to us raw. When we complained- the steward insisted it was the way the chicken was marinated and that’s why it is “pink” inside. Not only was it raw, but it was smelling so bad- we asked the staff to smell after which he agreed and said it smelt “pungent”. The mains were disappointing as well- the bharta was just full of garam masala- there was absolutely no flavour of the Smokey aubergine ( I am a chef myself and I know how to make bharta- this was far from good). The dal makhani was average dal- no flavour of makhan or smoke. Worst of all, we ordered 2 biryanis- the rice of the biryani was fat- I’m not sure which rice they use but it 100 percent wasn’t basmati. The owner very nicely came up and apologised and said he would “remove” the chicken kebab from the bill- I was surprised at this statement because ofcourse I wasn’t going to pay for RAW SMELLY chicken!!!! It wasn’t a favour they did for us!! This meal left me hungry and I wouldn’t come here again, I think I can cook a better meal myself!

We attended Iftar here. We had the iftar set menu. For £35 per person, the food is extremely tasty but the portions are ridiculously small. Its like a taster menu. In comparison, Dishoom offers the same if not better standard of food, with more generous portions and at a cheaper cost. Ritu is worth a visit if you are not too hungry and prepared to pay a premium for tasty food!!

Excellent Indian food - portions aren’t very big but the flavors are spot on. Love the laziz pasanda, the bhindi achari, the lotus stem chaat and the mango lassi. Good service and cute decor. Will be back! Came back for dinner and it was amazing - the nizami handi, the alleppy fish curry, the gunpowder prawn and the tawa pulao were delicious. Good / attentive service, the only downside is that they don’t accept Amex which is a bit ridiculous considering dishes are expensive / priced at a premium.

HALAL STATUS: Fully Halal food menu (duck subject to availability (phone ahead); prepped & cooked separately) • Alcohol served. Ritu certainly put the 'seasons' of India into its new tasting menu, which offered enough quality and variety to make our first visit to this restaurant a truly memorable one. Muslim Head Chef Shoeb Haider churned out one quality dish after another, with some we'd never had before, such as Ritu's version of a Pasanda, and the Gajjar Ka Halwa Strudel; and others we're not going to be forgetting in a hurry, with one or two that'll probably be in the offing for our end of year awards. With a solid 4.5/5 rating, there's plenty to admire here, with many more intriguing dishes worth revisiting for. Respect to Ritu!

Me and partner visited Ritu's last month, the food and cocktails was a delight. The service was fast and ambience was great. However guests need to be careful as one of the lovely lady working there told us they don't get the service charges or the extra tip we had for the staff members. The business pockets the service charges. On going guests be aware. Was appalled to find out such a fancy place doing scamming act like this. Looking forward to visiting Ritu's again when I'll be back to London for christmas break, hopefully this will change or might have to take some actions as a worker in the media sector will need to shine some light on businesses like this. 👍🏾

I think it is the best Indian restaurant in the area. The sophisticated cooking, the spices that bring out the best in the meat, fish, cheese, and vegetables to create a deep and complex flavor, and the beautiful presentation all make for a wonderful experience. Incredibly disappointing. On the plus side, the waiter was friendly and efficient, and they have a lovely large raised outdoor terrace. Sadly, these were massively outweighed by the really poor cooking. The "Papad Tray" had very moorish mini papadoms, but the chutneys were tasteless. The "Blue Cheese Malai Brocolli" was overcooked. For a main course, I asked for something really spicy with lots of chilli; the waitress recommended the "Champaran Gosht" - truly one of the poorest, blandest and least interesting dishes I have ever tasted. I had read the uniformly good reviews and arrived with high expectations. Maybe the chef was off duty that evening, but no inclination to give it another chance.

Initially thought the portion size would be small but turns out they're very generous. Bit pricey than your regular Indian but the quality and taste of the curries is honestly good. Typically you would find that a lot of the Indian restaurant will use the same base curry for all the curries on the menu this was not the case. I wanted the goat curry but turns out their menu has recently been updated. Lady spoke with the chef and hey presto I got my goat curry! You can’t book unless you’re prepared to give a credit card (to book this local restaurant) - which incurs a hefty £35 cancellation charge per head including reduction in numbers - if done less than 24 hours prior. For an early weekday slot for only 2 people - it felt a little OTT. When I questioned this, I was told it’s because - quote “how can we trust you not to come”. This was not a great start. The restaurant itself is very attractive and we felt optimistic on entering. Not so, when we saw the prices - £22 for a starter dish consisting of (only) 3 large prawns. Although perfectly cooked and delicious, we’d recently dined at the highly acclaimed and very expensive Zuma in Knightsbridge, and frankly their similar prawn dish was much better value. I felt Ritu was just too expensive for what we actually received. The drinks were pricey, our chicken curry was pleasant enough but missing white-meat . Our lamb curry was so tough and grisly/chewy throughout the whole dish - that we had to return it. Having had to remove indigestible pieces from our mouths - the waiter argued it was fine - although how he knew better than us was a mystery! The staff told us how busy the restaurant gets - yet it was almost empty when we left just after 8pm. We wanted to love it and make it our local Indian restaurant but found the expensive prices did not ensure consistency of quality or a reason to return. Pity

I, at once suggested Ritu Restaurant (as the name itself reminds us of unique geographical location of Indian subcontinent enjoying 6 Seasons in a year, Vasant Ritu (Spring), Grishma Ritu (Summer), Varsha Ritu (Monsoon), Sharad Ritu (Autumn), Hemant Ritu (Pre-Winter) and Shishir Ritu (Winter). I had been to Ritu Restaurant, couple of times, earlier with friends, and family, and once also met the Owner, Mr. Anubahav Srivastava’s Dad there, Mr.Pradeep Srivastava , who kindly spent some moments, with us, on our request to chat about this distinctively different restaurant which incidentally has food for all 6 Seasons of India. In India food plays an important role in giving the nutrition which the body needs during that particular season, and for maintaining the balance in terms of body heat, therefore, a wide variety of food for different seasons was created many centuries ago. This time we were fortunate to meet the Big Boss himself, who owns the Restaurant, Mr. Anubahav Srivastava, who briefly narrated the taste of most of the dishes, and explained some unique & distinctively new creation and introduction of a dish, recently introduced, especially for the Winter Season, called “Koyla Chicken” (Charcoal Chicken), warm as the name sounds, so does the dish generate warmth in the body and senses, with Charcoal Barbeque Flavour, and matching black colour! Being a vegetarian on Thursdays, I was unable to taste it, but all my friends loved it very much and said that, it was distinctively different than the norm, and definitely had that “Oomph”! We did experience the usual best services and efficiency, and were looked after by the General Manager, himself, Mr. Raghbir Sinha, who seemed like an Encyclopaedia of Indian Food, as he knew the background of all the dishes, with his qualification and past experience in the world of hospitality catering business internationally. The creativity, taste, presentation, and services when each and every dish was served was unique in character, which just tantalized our taste buds, which automatically triggered the mind with vibes of happiness. As the saying goes “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” All other dishes were excellent, especially Dal Tarka, butter chicken, etc. I would recommend each and every foodie living in London or visiting London to try this amazing experience in the world of culinary delights, to ascertain the facts, themselves. I wish the Owners, Management, Executives, & Staff Ritu Restaurant, continued progress to attain the peak of success in their endeavours © Ash-Cash and Ash and Karen

We wanted to try Indian food in London and had a perfect experience here! The staff was very friendly and helpful especially when it comes to picking meals. The portions are bigger than expected and the food is delicious. I highly recommend Ritu and would definitely come back some time again!

Really didn’t know what to expect before discovering this wonderful restaurant last night. As over the years that particular spot was an upmarket Italian restaurant and then a Lebanese. Ritu has stunningly excellent food. Rich with complexities of Indian spice and flavours. Refined dishes that are beautifully made & presented. Simply delicious The service was warm and attentive. One point that’s always worth mentioning - that on this exceptionally freezing cold night, the restaurant was heated perfectly. Cannot wait to return

great value on the cocktails, beers WAY too expensive. Likewise food a bit hit & miss, 3 of the four dishes were wondeful but the fourth lacked flavour & freshness.

In a city like London, spoiler with great Indian restaurants, finding one that can still stand out positively is rare. Ritu achieves this with flying colors. Food is prepared from scratch, carefully and you can taste the difference. Generous portions. Finely balanced spices. True to the regional character of each dish. Pleasant outside terrace with heaters, plus bright indoors space. Stuff is very friendly and super helpful. We will return many times, with friends and family

I had my 25th birthday dinner at Ritu London and was very happy with how the staff accommodated all the different dietary requirements in my group. Furthermore they were very warm, welcoming and the owner personally came over to wish me a Happy Birthday. The food and drinks were tasty and presented very well. I highly recommend this restaurant for all occasions. My group and I had a wonderful time.

Comida sabrosa. Grandes porciones.

Absolut gutes indisches Essen.

We had our wedding reception at Hankies and it was absolutely fantastic. The food, the atmosphere and the service all exceeded our expectations and our guests were raving about the food long after the event. A special thank you to Florian who was wonderful to work with – he was extremely responsive, reassured us that everything was in hand and delivered the most memorable event for us. We could not recommend Hankies and the team enough!
