Awful service, we came with children, waiters took so long, then when they did serve they shoved it in front of us. We hadnt complained because they were busy. But the service and food was lack lustre. Samosas were rock hard, chicken Lollipops were bordering being off, amritsari fish was rubbery. Pav Baaji was good

Very slow service, cold draft thru out and the food was very disappointing. Not good for vegetarians. The bhatura had a fragrance of fish. Definitely fried in a mix oil.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Whether you are vegetarian or eat meat, there is definitely something great to order. I've been coming here monthly for years now and never been disappointed. This coupled with the lovely staff members makes it a 5 star review from me.

The staff comes across rude, and have no manners. The food taste has also deteriorated. Chole was stale. To ask for pack the left over food, the waitress came and dumped the containers on the table to pack your food by yourself. You ask for water or anything, they just come bang the stuff on the table.

Not impressed in the slightest. Rude staff, dirty and cramped. Waiters/waitresses have no enthusiasm and make you feel like they are doing you a favour! No proper napkins, the place could really do with a make-over. The food itself was OK, nothing special, not enough filling in the dosa. Really have to question the health and hygiene...

The waitress was lovely. That’s all I can say The food was horrid. Samosas were full of massed green stuff and over cooked or felt over from yesterday The saag only tasted of salt The prawn curry was out of a tin I didn’t not enjoy it at all The restaurant was undergoing a refit. And they started banging and doing stuff where diners were eating. It wasn’t my idea of a curry night out It was cheap prices. But I’d rather pay more and be able to eat and enjoy it. I would never return

Dropped in at Rita’s for lunch during a shopping trip to Southall. Was quite busy which shows it’s popularity. It was also recommended by a neighbouring g business where we were shopping. We ordered different kinds of chats for starters and tasted each other’s ordered in order to be able to enjoy maximum variety. They were all very tasty. Our mains were chole bhatuta, makki roti and saag, mooli kulcha. Although there was a bit of wait for the orders to arrive, it was perfectly understandable as all items were freshly prepared and came steaming hot. All came with additional items we didn’t expect e.g. potatoes curry, pickles, yogurt and even some halwa fir desert. So I had to cancel the desert order! Service was also good.Would definitely recommend the place and would go back to try out more dishes.

I went to Rita's with friends for the first time. We asked if the meat was halal as a couple of us do not agree with the procedure used for halal meat. The waiter initially said it was halal and when we said we don't eat it, management said it wasn't. Ordinarily I would have left at this point but did not want to disrupt the evening for my other friends. I ate the vegetarian food which was very well made. However I will NEVER eat at this establishment again. They are clearly telling halal meat eaters it is halal and non-halal meat eaters the opposite. This is unethical and unacceptable! People need to be treated with dignity and respect. These people are selling out for money!

As I've mentioned many times before, I judge the cleanliness of an establishment by the state of it's toilets & to be honest, these were abysmal. I went downstairs to find the only urinal out of order covered with a black bin bag. The toilet didn't even have the button on top to flush!Hence to say that I wasn't too interested in eating the food that I ordered. The service was pretty rubbish too. It's sad to say, but the cleanliness & toilet situation is a common theme in Southall (apart from Giftos) & unless this is sorted out, Southall will never realise it's true potential.

Never been to Southall, but I enjoyed the day. Was looking for a place to eat, so we asked, and they told us to go to Rita's. Their samosa and chaat, are lovely. The homemade lassi was too. The chickpeas were delicious. We ordered many little snacks, and enjoyed most of them. I loved the pakoras, but they were a little to heavy. On the hole, I enjoyed everything. Southall is a lovely place to spend the day, with lots of colour, and stalls. I recommend Rita's, and its worth a trip.

I've been going to Rita's for at least 20 years. I see it as a solid dependable favourite. The food is nothing fancy, just simple chaats, curries and fried snacks. The samosas are quite good though the onion bhajis and pakoras are too heavy. My favourite thing on the eat in menu is the keema mutter (mince with peas) with a portion of boiled rice. It is very tasty with a ginger zing, but you may find, like I have a few times, that it arrives with no peas in and you have to bring it to their attention. Staff are reasonably but not overly customer focused. I have seen the place go through a tacky and pretentious refurb a few years ago but am pleased to report that it is back to its usual, Southally, slightly retro best. Worth a trip.

One of the Oldest and Established restuarants in old Southall... Rita's is one of my favourites for snack foods. It was originally estabished by immigrants from Kenya carryong on the same name as their snack centre in Nairobi...Known for its samosas and then its Allu Tikki and Charts... it remains a favourite for snack foods of all kinds! Also serving full meals, Rita's was amog the first to offer Fluda (a refreshing drink).. It serves a range of traditional frest drinks as well (including Passion)...It has been refurbished and you can seen most of the food being prepared in view... clean and very reasonably priced... Rita's is also popular for other "fast food" snacks. . .

I have been coming here for over 15 years now. I remember eating here the very first time sitting at a long table with several other people and the place bustling and lively, with the smell of good food and waiters hurriedly bringing dishes from the kitchen. I stood out like a sore thumb the only tall blond woman there but it didn't matter everyone was busy eating the delicious food and it has a friendly feel about the place. It was a Sunday lunchtime and families and friends were enjoying food. It was my first meal in Southall and I have to say I really enjoyed it then and each time I visit Southall always end up here for my first meal, as an English woman I have introduced Indian friends to the place. Nowadays, when I visit Southall, the restaurant has been modernised over the years and the waiting staff change from time to time, but the quality of food always remains the same. Also, you see more tourists and other nationalities visiting the restaurant. Service is very polite and the owner will always say "hello" to you or have a chat with regulars and you do get the impression he takes good food and his business seriously which is nice to see. The restaurant is clean with polished mirrors, a wonderful selection of Indian sweets (mithai) and snacks at the front of the shop (love the gulab jamuns, gajar ke halwa and laddus). There is a t.v. with Bollywood films playing while you eat to put you in the mood, there is a busy turnover, people coming and going, but it is not rowdy and you can always get a table which is clean and service is prompt. Excellent value too.Being vegetarian we usually opt for chana batura, or samosas chaat or a vegetarian dish with lovely rotis/parathas, followed by lassis and also a dessert from the sweet centre.I am absolutely full up but the time I leave here and have to walk it off with a bit of shopping and always regretting that I've eaten too much. You find couples in the evening enjoying a bite, mums and grandmothers and children during the day, businessmen and groups as well as tourists enjoy a snack or a main meal. If I lived locally I'd eat here once a week. I have been at the weekend, during the week early afternoon and lunch service and during the evening and each time the service and food has been the same.

I come here often because it always tastes soooo good. Having been a wannabee chef most of my life, I like to think I can cook and know I have a good palette. Here, the food is full of flavour, albeit several different elements on the plate are subtly spiced, and, as such, the juicy, meat, mixed salad, gorgeous flatbread and dips all work together harmoniously. It's easy for me to big up a local eatery on a review, as we have so many in our area to chose from; for that reason, I rarely do unless I think it's special. Whilst I always sit comfortably outside, under the awning and the lights, looking out, the interior is really as sumptuous as it is clean and open, all with genuine persian/arabian touches throughout. Likewise with the hosts who are always keen to accomodate me in a friendly, professional yet unobtrusive manner. Again, for those of you that have an interest in these things, the crockery and presentation, befits the high standards the hosts set for themselves and their premises. This also includes the rest rooms and waiting areas which afford a very good level of space and privacy. Aquarium has an extensive range of freshly prepared coffees, teas, juices and pastries including many more esoteric flavours from all four lines. It is also well located a few metres away from Acton Town Tube, which is an accesible station for mobility compromised travellers servicing both Piccadilly and District Lines in and out of central London.

Visited Watan last night (Friday 30th September) for a meal with family. Asked for all the food to be served at the same time which was too complex a request for the staff to handle. Kids meal arrived and it took Watan staff another 20 mins to serve the drink that the meal should have come with. Then the three mixed grills arrived which were lukewarm at best. They were sent back to be reheated. The excuse was that we are busy so things cool down. First time I’ve heard that excuse for a grill when they are normally delivered to the table sizzling. Was not impressed and will not be visiting Watan anymore
