Impeccable service, the food was incredible and a great selection of wine. We will 100% be back, what a great night.

We have visited 2 within the last 2 months. Absolutely beautiful, very friendly staff, Pinion himself can be quite a laugh! Very professional, very much the real deal and I must say so myself. This is FINE Dinning. If you want to "treat" and are not to fussed on spending the money on the right food then 100% recommend. If you don't have high expectations and are not used to this kind of atmosphere, or fine dining I'll be honest it isn't for you.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from owner. Raised our bill to £500 when it should have been £240. I understand mistakes can be made, but it was obvious they were pulling a fast one. When issue with bill was raised, Gino without looking confirms "No this is the right bill". Until we asked again, to check, Gino angrily gets out his calculator and then accepts he was wrong. Out of respect to other diners I offered to discuss the matter in private, but his rude and unapologetic behaviour left me angry and disappointed. I will not return and never recommend. That being said, the monkfish dish was delicious.

I'm really disappointed with the service, attitude and rudeness at this restaurant. The food was delicious which makes it even more disappointing that my friends and I will not return. I was also not "allowed" to add chillies to my carbonara dish. Generally, they weren't happy that we didn't order starters. When the bill came, they doubled it to over £500! They didn't even apologise for their mistake and still added service charge. They were rude to the whole table, especially to my husband and friend. We also felt uncomfortable, we maybe were not the clientele they wanted. This meal was for my 40th birthday and such a shame. The owner was very rude and I hope they sort out the level of service and rudeness.

Nice but absolutely not worth the £40 each which we paid for a shared starter, main and a drink. No beer on tap. Too expensive.

It's dawned on me that I've never left a review for this restaurant, despite going at least once every week, for several years now (that is the real review, I wouldn't go so often if it was rubbish - come here, it's very good). Da Gino's is one of my my favourite restaurants. Eating there is always relaxed, there is a genuinely nice atmosphere and the food is consistently great, the freshness of the ingredients and the fact that much of it's made in-house is manifest. Lunch & Sunday lunch are both *outstanding* value for money and you will leave full. Dinner is perfect for an evening meal or a special occasion. Da Gino is an excellent, authentic, family run, independent, Italian restaurant and I think it very much deserves your attention. For the avoidance of doubt, it is much better than any Italian restaurants in the area and in Birmingham, in my opinion. Apologies for the rubbish photos, I'm not one to take pictures of my food normally.

We have visited this restaurant on many occasions and have always had a lovely experience. The food is excellent, staff friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. .

Authentic food and lovely restaurant. One of the best carbonaras that I have had. The lasagna also tasted amazing. The staff and restaurant owners were welcoming and accommodating.

So disappointed ☹️ Got there they wouldn’t even take my partners coat Waiting for table noticed a few come in and wait at the same time waited to be seated was ok ! Into the meal I got up to go rest room ,I herd a loads of people in next table discussing my body image was really rude partner was upset with what they had said staff were rude too when we told them what the other guests had said women with black hair that works there was so rude what they said she said out loudly appalling won’t be going there again nor will be recommending friends never felt so uncomfortable for a long time what a waste of time oh by the way the bread was stale

Great service and the best food stunning

Beautiful place, very welcoming, very hospitable. Food is very nice just wish they had beer on tap but it is what it is but the food makes up for that. Try it if your in the area. May these people be blessed in JESUS mighty name.

Have been several times just randomly- A homely pretty restaurant, park easily right out side or a few meters away - Owner Gino & my waitress Eleana ( & previous waiters) very on point welcoming & professional, to the right degree of attention - the Food is consistantly of a high standard, as I can see by the open view kitchen..lovely chefs, cooked to perfection, veg, sauces, Steak, value is worth the quality and portion size, I personally would like more wine chioces by the glass, but may rotate the house wines on occassion, but understandable price point. I am a critical diner, Savoured every bite.. worth the visit. Chiontelle X

We have been here a few times, and the food and service have always been good. For starters I ordered mussels, and they were lovely. My wife ordered the Avocado... The avocado was hard and unripe, and really should not have been served... We mentioned this to a waiter, who brought this to the attention of one of the ladies overseeing the tables. Let me just say, we did not make a big issue, we.justbwanted to say that the avocado was not ripe... The lady hurried over... (Bearing in mind that the restaurant was busy, and somewhat noisy) my wife started to talk to the lady... She was then told in no uncertain terms not to shout... I know from many years experience... My wife was not shouting... The background noise was on the loud side as there was a big party to the back of us, so my wife's voice was raised to overcome the atmosphere at the time.. unfortunate really, as my wife did take umbrage at how she was spoken to... We both had swordfish as mains, and it was lovely... However the contretemps with the lady running the restaurant somewhat put a damper on the evening.. may be a while before we head back...

We are originally from Birmingham and have used this beautiful restaurant numerous times. We now live in Lincolnshire (some 120 miles north east). We recently visited friends and dined on a Saturday night. The food, atmosphere and friendly level of service were, as ever, second to none. All persons in our party were knocked out by all of the aforementioned. I would highly recommend daGinos...you will be totally astounded by this beautiful little gem......I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Thanks so much for a wonderful night!

Ok, great experience walking in friendly staff and food was great and delicious, was there with my best mate and wife and family, had an enjoyable evening until the bill arrived, looked at the bill it had a £50 service charge in it which would be fine but we had 5 kids with us. We asked to take it of to the lady and we would pay our own tip, she then disappeared to change it then 5 minutes later a man came back to asks why we wouldn’t pay the charge, which according to UK law is optional. Very rude and aggressive I asked his name it was Gino so he must be the owner, wouldn't minds the bill was £565, we was prepared to pay a tip, but unfortunately after he took the cash and I said keep the change he said I don’t want your money, which isn’t true, I’m sure later he will make a response but I promise this is a true review as a business owner myself you shouldn’t expect a tip!!!

Like someone Else said this could be a real gem, but the service isn’t great. I asked for a jug of water and was given a bottle, and when I said I assumed your water came like that as I did ask for a jug of water and was charged £3.99 for still water when I asked for a jug of water anyway. It’s a shame as we were doing sober October and were willing to come back and would’ve bought alcohol. I went there specifically because I am diagnosed coeliac and someone said they do cater for coeliac‘s but they didn’t even have gluten-free pasta. I think I will stick to Verona on Boldmere Road which is loads better Service, wise, and food wise…

Adding this review in the sincere hope it might help with some changes 🙏 this place has been around a while and has the potential to be such a great local spot. Unfortunately, as noted in recent reviews, the service is truly awful. It has gone from an authentic, down to earth feel to absolutely rude. This isn’t based on a single experience but on numerous recent visits and observing interactions with other diners too. I really hope the management can address this sooner rather than later. Food is nice, restaurant is nice. Could be a lovely local gem. Sadly seems to be headed in a disappointing direction.

Great atmosphere, food was delicious

The food was good, but beware they charge you £3.00 if you ask for extra butter to go with your complementary bread, not much atmosphere. When we questioned been charged for the bread the man was extremely rude, we pointed out his attitude was not encouraging people to return, he said I don't care if you don't return. Not good.

Very run down and old fashioned. The place is a bit dirty and it’s just a poor ambiance. I had the jumbo scampi that aren’t jumbo and they were battered and served in oil which just soaked into the batter. All the other dishes were average at best and don’t justify the price. We honestly cook better at home. It’s like the place is stuck in an 80’s time warp. The staff were poor except one old gentleman who served the food. He was lovely. This place needs a renovation and a new management team. Won’t be back.

Service was friendly, portions were large. We had pate, cannelloni and carbonara which were fairly tasty. £85 1 starter, 2 mains, 4 drinks The background Muzak of ‘80’s piano ballads was seriously bad!

Went for mother's day lunch today. Food was average at best, service was borderline rude at points. Although we did eventually get most of what we asked for, the team very much has their system you have to stick to, and any questions are answered dismissively. I'd echo other reviews that say it can feel like you're being told off. Couldn't give us allergy information when we asked. Would expect better at this price - won't be going back unfortunately.

1st time i have visited this restaurant! The menu has great variety and the quality of the food was great. All the staff are great and really welcoming Ann was great and made you feel at home. Will defo be going back to try the rest of the menu.

Fabulous meal with my family as a group of 5 this evening. Service was quick but not rushed, friendly and happy to accommodate. Food was delicious, we all had different dishes, both starters and mains, and every one of them was cooked to perfection and fresh. We will definitely be returning. Our only regret is not going sooner!

Lovely staff, great service and excellent food.

It's a delightful restaurant. The food was good, with a nice choice from the set lunch menu. It was my first visit. It was rather spoilt initially by a clear misunderstanding. The website allows a 2pm booking but the chef leaves at two and the restaurant closes to reopen later. The website needs to be changed to make the last lunch booking 1.15 or 1.30.

Fantastic service and food at excellent value.

I'm sorry we didn't get to taste the food the positive reviews are raving about. We decided to leave after being told off in front of other customers by 3 separate employees, for turning up with -3 (minus three people) we originally booked for 10 but due to illnesses some people couldn't make it. (Covid-19) Being told off, like naughty school children, for not ringing to reconfirm numbers. We did apologise, these things happen in hospitality and catering. We had our drinks at the entrance, paid for that and left. The way in which we we were greeted in that first instance of entering this place was hostile and this is not the way I wanted to start my night out or remember my eating experience. I would agree with some of the low rated reviews (-) on here, they sound fairly accurate to my experience. Shame.

Superb flavours and exceptional service

We have been going to Dagino's for quite sometime , it is a unique place to eat and socialise and the standards have never wavered . It's obvious that they only purchase high quality food and it's cooked to perfection by their chefs who have worked there many years . The owner works very hard to maintain the highest of standards and he is clearly very passionate about his food and giving his customers a great experience , this is to be commended as food of this quality is hard to find. Great food , great staff and a warm welcome every time . We all hope that Covid issues are behind us so that we can continue to enjoy the Da Gino experience . 1 of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in years! The Food, The Service 5 Star I didn't like the table we were seated at, was facing each other and it was next to a post (but we could have easily moved) however the food and service more then made uo for it!

This is such a great, local and very authentic restaurant. Me and my boyfriend are here recently and we were served expertly and professionally by the most handsome Italian waiter. He made us feel at ease and was wry gay-friendly. Full marks for being so wonderful With u! I will recommend it to other gay friends in the area.

First visit for me along with family for a meal at this wonderful restaurant last night. Can't rate it highly enough. From the warm welcome on our entrance through three courses and wonderful wine we couldn't have had better treatment or been more attentively looked after. Amazing food, beautifully cooked from prawns and pate to veal and halibut everything freshly cooked and served to everyone's taste. Can't wait to go again. Five stars to all the staff. Had the most delicious lunch today at da ginos in Streetly. Can't fault the staff, service or food, good value too. Wonderful!!

I rarely write reviews but in this case I had to make an exception due to how rude one particular staff member was to myself and my partner, completely ruining a long awaited reunion meal with my family after being separated for nearly 2 years. When I enquired about the menu, he became extremely disrespectful and confrontational, even making comments about my partners facial expressions at one point. It was clear after this he was told off by senior staff and came back apologising and offering solutions, however the damage was already done at this point and it was a little too late and the apologies felt empty and forced. On top of this, we had to wait 50 minutes after sitting down for our food order to be taken. The food was OK, but considering the price tag for it you can do better at home whilst spending a fraction of the price, or simply try somewhere else with staff that show basic human decency.

What a lovely restaurant. I held my birthday lunch there and it was delicious. Everyone said what helpful staff and delightful surroundings. I am sure I shall be going there again.

Lovely restaurant serving really good food. Starter was good, large portion size. Pasta dishes are great, again good portion. Deserts are amazing if you have a sweet tooth. House red wine was great value for money. Staff very friendly and professional & wore face coverings. Well worth a visit. Good idea to book a table.

Absolutely brilliant food and great value too. Every meal we've had here has been perfect. Worth mentioning that not many places can cook a T Bone steak consistently to the bone and these get it right. Service is excellent too. We went to this restaurant for our sons birthday. Friday 31st Jan. First, we were told to sit in the bar area looking at menu and drinks menu. This was not comfortable fur to people coming in and out of the door,which was very drafty. Waitress was not at all helpful with wine list and quite abrupt. Our table was actually free so why we didn't get the choice of if we wanted to sit down, I dont understand. We waited half hour for drinks order to be taken. Nearly 40 minutes before they come to take food order, which we needed to ask about. The starter took half hour to arrive. My husband had to ask for the extra glasses to be removed for more space on the table. They serve vegetables with meal which is not left on your table! Not once during the meal did we get asked if we needed any more drinks(we had to ask) Neither did we get asked if the food was good. We live in Streetly and have visited here a few times but not for awhile now. There were also other people coming in being hugged and made more welcome us being shown straight to their table!! We will not be visiting this restaurant again, certainly not recommending it. We would rather go to Romantica,Mere Green, where the service is always great. The staff are very friendly(to everyone) and very helpful. o if we wanted to sit straight down I dont

Extremely slow service, not asked for once if drinks needed at table, food average and way too expensive, the woman that greeted us was pretty horrible and I’m sure she was attempting to rip people off! The table next to us was overcharged £30, then 2 x venison’s were put on our bill by “mistake” which we had to ask to get removed. Queried the slow service and no apology was offered and yet I was made to feel bad for not expecting it... wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend

Food is very good. Service is not good. Gino and the waitress are very nice but very forgetful.

Dinner for 15 including 4 toddlers. Staff looked after us really well and the food was excellent. Would recommend wholeheartedly. House wines are really good - only look at the rest of the wine menu if you’re really fussy.
