Great pub. Always busy with a good atmosphere

Nice clean, range of drinks, new toilets

Love this place. Music is usually goth, metal or rock. Locals are friendly and a bit crazy. Just put 'the best song in the world (a tribute)' by Tenacious d on the jukebox on. You can just watch the chaos unfurl. There is also a darts teams with crazy names like Dave the saw and mental Nigel on their shirts.

Went to meet a friend for a night out in Church Gresley and found this place by Google mapping and street view beforehand, so glad I did! What a cracking night. This pub is ace! Awesome bar staff, and atmosphere, great music, cracking beers on offer and a dartboard to throw arrows at and miss (mostly). Will definitely go back! Thank you 'Rising Sun' for an unforgettable night!

Hello all you pub drinkers of beer. I have a workshop in Gresley and pass this pub most days look and think I worked in there along time ago as an apprentice must have a beer some time well sometime was Saturday after work and it great to see a bar with people drinking music playing lots great beer 🍺 on the pumps. fantastic place .great staff it's a must 20/10

Horrendous experience. Met by a rude, uninterested lady who couldn’t have made my family and I feel more uncomfortable if she tried. We booked a table for the five of us, having three young girls we went out for our eldest daughters 13th birthday. Booked on the phone, perfect. Drove 13 miles there only to be told that 70% of the menu wasn’t available. When questioned why we hadn’t been informed on the phone the lady snarled and bit back saying it had nothing to do with her, and that we didn’t speak to her on the phone anyhow. All of this in front of our children who wanted to leave, as did we.. Other people in the restaurant looked over in horror. We left and went to the Horse and Jockey down the road, amazing meal with warm and friendly staff, can’t wait to go back. In short, rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Not returning.
