Food was great! If only they didn’t run out of home made cheese and onion pie because that is like heaven!!

Booked for early supper time and arrived well in time. The table was ready, and we were greeted and seated without delay. I ordered drinks at the bar as the staff seemed a little busy. The drinks were to my mind, a little expensive - £5.00 odd for a bottle of cider and over £3.00 for a glass of Pepsi!! Our food order was taken within 5 minutes, but it took 45 mins at least for our food to arrive, and we were desperately hungry by then. One plate was the Sunday carvery for a fussy young eater. I had asked the waitress for only chicken, broccoli and roast potatoes, but we received everything else instead!! I had to ask her to remove the swede and mashed potato and cauliflower and give us only what I had requested. No problem, she sorted it and gave us an extra Yorkshire pudding and more gravy. I had beef stroganoff and chunky chips and rice, which was the best I've had in ages - compliments to the chef!! My other guest had the vegetarian curry, which she said was also delicious but a fairly large portion, so unfortunately, she only managed to devour about half of it. The atmosphere was loud, noisy and to be expected for a family pub at that time of day. All in all, the only issues were the price of the drinks and the delay in being served - but it was well worth the wait - so we'd definitely go again.

Wine and lunch with a friend to catch up.. food was fab the wine flowed .. excellent!!

Friendly staff but very expensive

Although i would say the food was really good, this is all i would say was good in this resturant,,, i visited for a family meal i had a deaf brother and 2 disabled children with me, i came prepared with the children and was successful in keeping them happy, we then where verbally abused and threaten by the locals because of my family's disabilities, i have to say given the awareness of disabilities in 2025 i was in disbelief that management did very little to help us in this situation and showed more support towards blatent aggressive people, we where ultimately forced to leave as a result of this ignorance towards special needs people,,, this situation is much worse as on this occasion the children where pleasant and quiet and it was very clear the reasons for these attacks towards my family where a result of ignorance towards people with difficulties in life. I do hope improvements are made in these areas.needless to say we wont be visiting again.

Had a really great family meal last Sunday . The staff was excellent , couldn’t do enough for us . The food was wonderful we all had something different & it all came together and pipeing hot . Can’t wait to come again , recommend to everyone .

A very enjoyable afternoon. The food was amazing , hot and tasty . The service was just right, not rushed and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly....nothing at all was too much trouble. A great atmosphere and reasonably priced too. Will definitely be making another visit soon.

Great value for good quality food

First time at this place with my wife and a good friend of ours. Great choice of menu and drinks. Pleasant service and good atmosphere, the food was hot and fresh. Looking forward to visiting again when the weather is better.

Brilliant party held here, only let down was that my little girl brought a drink in with her and we got charged for it when we payed the bill. Bar staff didn't seem bothered when i asked them about it. Wont be going back again!!

Always a great meal with lovely staff

Our family visited this dog friendly pub on Christmas Eve, all of the staff were welcoming and friendly the food was very tasty and plenty of it. We received great service and would like to mention Gee our waitress she was very friendly.

We are from the US and were visiting our family in Hyde. They took us to this fantastic, friendly and welcoming restaurant/pub! We cannot say enough about how amazing the food, atmosphere and hospitality were! We 100% recommend dining at the Rising Moon~ Barry & Mindy Robins (son of Sid & Pamela Bates)

Came here with my daughter for my birthday, served by Gee who couldn't have done anymore to make us feel welcome, food was amazing as always

Terrific location for a family lunch. Fabulous service and jovial fun from Gee and Lilly.

Booked to meet family for a pre Christmas meal and we looked around the area prior to booking and came based on reviews. Amazing old school pub favourites on the menu along side more modern styles. Food was absolutely beautiful, the Lamb Henry was perfect! And the homemade gravy was clearly not packet mix rubbish, it was superb. Steak pie and chips was great as well, absolutely full of meat, and the chips were huge chunky chips. Great value compared to where we live (Cheshire) and surroundings were lovely. The only niggle is the slightly slow service to keep up with drinks as the pub was pretty quiet at the time. But the staff were all lovely and helpful so all was good. Keep up the good work in the kitchen but maybe keep an eye on customers tables a bit more considering how many staff were available. We will certainly return to try more of the menu!!

Visited Dec 6th witha group and really enjoyed our evening. Lovely ambience, ordered Rag pudding which I demolished. Everyone's food looked amazing. Service was superb. Definitely returning soon. Thank you.

Came here as it was exactly half way between us and friends. The reviews were great so booked and must say the whole experience was better than expected. I made an error on my booking but they fixed it for me no problem. The staff were exceptional so welcoming, personable and friendly. They made a fuss of our dogs and were accomodating when the rest of our party were late. The food was amazing and well priced. Highly recommend we will definitely be returning.

Just spent a lovely couple of hours at the Rising Moon with family. Couldn't fault it. We were made very welcome and the food was really good. I'd also like to say a big thank you to Grace. What a great personality! 😁

What a great find food was amazing and serve a mean ale 🍺 (unicorn) Try the salt and pepper chicken as a starter and the rag pudding (see image) great combo.

My family and I came here and we all really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely and kind, and the waiting times weren’t too long. The cauliflower soup starter was really good. The sunday lunch was delicious, decent sized portions. No complaints.

We wanted somewhere to hold my Mum's 80th birthday meal. We had a party of over 30 people so were lucky to have the entire room. The staff, led by Matt, were amazing, a special mention for Adam who was our designated member of staff throughout the afternoon. He was ably assisted by the other members of the team. Adam always made sure that my Mum was happy throughout service and made a special fuss of her. We were also really touched when the staff personally donated to her charity fund that she'd asked other guests to contribute to rather than presents. We had pre-ordered all the food from the main menu and it all arrived extremely promptly, with no errors and every dish was piping hot. The food was wonderful and many of the guests made mention of the quality. My wife and I had the home made cheese and onion pie. This was a 'proper' pie with ample amounts of fillings and a great level of cheese in it. Others had braised dishes (liver/beef) and these also looked fantastic. The portion sizes meant that no-one was hungry by the end and some even had enough left over to take home! All in all, the afternoon was a tremendous success, in no small part, due to the staff and quality of the food served. Thank you for making Mum's special day even more special!

We recently visited the Rising Moon and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was outstanding – everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was cosy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a warm, friendly setting!

Great food for coeliacs (gluten free) & the service was great too, very friendly. Highly recommended.

We Ordered cheese pie and steak pie- cheese one was so dry the cheese should have ooozed out but it was just too hard . Steak and ale pie had no ale taste- chips were nuclear hot and were dry inside. if you can carry on to the Wagon and horses- food and atmosphere must better but same prices or pop up to Bees -Rising moon very overpriced for the food offered

One word… amazing! Haven’t been in a while, and popped in today during lunch with my wife. Really great service and good home cooked food. Special shout out to the Cheese and Onion Pie and Rag Pudding! Simply delicious.

The manager of the pub was very rude to myself and my boyfriend. The clientele seemed to be mainly larger louts and there were people smoking weed outside. The surroundings were nice which was what initially drew us in , but I won't be going back

What a lovely place! Food is delicious! Me and my husband went for a Sunday meal and we ordered salt&pepper squid and Bbq chicken wings for starter and Braised beef with mash and onion gravy and my husband had Lamb Henry. Meat was tender and full of flavour. I would highly recommend it.

Hubby and I arrived on time on the 26th August and waited 10 mins at the bar to then be sated at a dirty table surrounded by 2 other empty dirty table. Ordered a cup of tea and a beer plus food. Waited 45! mins and with no sign of our beverages arriving, hubby politely brought this to attention of the 3 members of staff who were busy chatting at the bar. Was assured the drinks will arrive shortly. Another 15 mins went by, still no drinks, walked out. Very disappointed with this place. We were looking forward for our late lunch out as this pub has good reviews and good looking menu. An hour wait for a cup of tea and a pint is simply unacceptable.

Walked in on impulse, without a booking on an early evening. Unfortunately they were fully booked as per the front of house lady. So just about to walk out and a young man stopped us and asked to wait as he would find us a table. What an amazing young chap, so pleasant and welcoming. Took us to a good table and went through the daily specials. Adam is the star and an asset to this business. Very knowledgeable and seems has a passion for his job. To receive excellent service like this nowadays is very rare. So a massive thank you for making an enjoyable evening. What a star , Adam

Pub is in a really scenic area and decided to pop in on a whim. Lovely outdoor area, good parking availability. At first look at menu, was a bit dismayed that there was no vegan options for me, but a lovely waitress went and asked the chef, and he went out of his way to make something Vegan, and it was DELICIOUS. Aubergine done two ways, baked and fried, with the most delicious tomato sauce. Absolutely fantastic. 11/10. My Mum had the bacon and liver and said it was "Divine". The manager came over to check on us, and we mentioned that the Vegan meal could do with something like chips, next thing a basket of chips were brought, just so nice of them. Just highly recommend this pub, amazing food, outstanding staff. Will be back again!

Went for a nice family meal on Sunday 5pm waited over half an hour after starter for main meal then it was only warm not hot. Sat next to a group of very rowdy lads shouting swearing and Vaping! Not sure we will go back my 8 year old son was scared of all the noise and we couldn't relax for the fear of it kicking off. We left after main meal didn't bother with dessert.

Visited here on 25th August 2024 for a Sunday roast. We were shown to our table and asked if we would like to order drinks - before we had sat down! The garlic mushrooms and garlic bread starter was delicious. However, the Sunday roast was disappointing. The broccoli was undercooked (hard), the roast potatoes were overcooked (not fluffy inside), the beef was dry, and the Yorkshire pudding was soggy. We would not return for a Sunday roast.

Tried booking a table for 6 asked for a deposit which I confirmed Sent me a code then it wanted me to put my address details in etc but was asking for a zip code etc I was on a USA website so I phoned the pub who I spoke to a very rude and unhelpful woman who said I was on the wrong website but I wasn’t as I had rang her from the same website Didn’t get the booking and left me wondering if it had taken the £30 or not Would not return

Served by Grace who was helpful, funny and very friendly and welcoming. We had a great evening. Good food and drink. We will be back.

Food and pub surroundings are amazing. But the service was such a let down. 2 members of staff was carrying the entire front of house team. Staff passing empty plates, forgetting dessert menus, staff to busy on phones rather than being present and looking after the customers and walking around like they are uninterested and no idea what they are doing. I don't usually leave such a bad review on a place I like. But previously being part of a management team for a pub restaurant I feel that the service has really let the place down and sadly the 2 members of staff who pulled there weight and did a fantastic job. They went above and beyond to correct the mistakes of uninterested others. Your food is fantastic your dining experience could be 5* but you need to polish up on the customer service from the younger members of staff.

Walked here arriving at 9pm on an August Saturday night to be told they had stopped serving. On asking why I was told by bar-staff "because there were only a few people in". As we left, a customer from an outside table entered to get more drinks! Realising that I was watching what happened the bar manager decided that we could, after all, be served. We declined and will never return. What a hopelessly inept way to run a pub. Shocking attitude towards two pensioners who were thirsty. Zero star rating for this dump.

I've been coming here with my husband and family since 2017 as it was our local until a few months ago and unfortunately since it changed hands, it's continued to go downhill. This evening (Saturday) they decided to close the bar for drinks at 830pm without shouting for last orders when there were approx 15 people still drinking in the bar and outside. The "manager" said that the directive from higher up (landlord) is to close when they're "quiet" and if we wanted to carry on drinking, we could go up the road to the Waggon and Horses. They did however reopen the bar temporarily for a larger group who were unhappy at their decision to close early, but refused to serve drinks to anybody else. I'm glad the "management team" don't work for me as they clearly wanted to finish early themselves to enjoy their Saturday night rather than continuing to take money from willing customers. Its a shame as this used to be a nice pub but the service and attitude is so poor that I won't bother going again.

Just been to the rising moon for a nice Sunday after noon out. We got told there would be a 45 minute wait before food which we didn't mind My partner liked his food who had spicy squid and the Atlantic salad Although mine was nothing to rage about, the parfait was watery and too much bread for the parfait. Then onto my mains, recently it just seems you don't get what you pay for, I paid £18 for a Sunday roast... The lamb was tough and fatty where my knife could not cut thru it. There was two roast potatoes and the mash, stuffing and some other mash, were just all piled under the meat together, where I don't like stuffing, luckily I seen it and moved it aside.. Finally after food I go into the gents cubicle where it has not been checked all day, the toilet seat was all wet, the floor was soaking wet and empty toilet roll holders too, really let the place down, plus wall paper missing around the window This place for me to be a 5star would need a better portion quality and just know how to look after the pub

Food was absolutely lovely and very good portions , as well as the young man who served us really did a fantastic job at looking after everyone and had us laughing. But the atmosphere could have been better some background music might have helped in the dining room area. Overall a nice family meal out.

A fab steak, better than the one I had recently at a big steak chain. The fish and chips were also excellent. Only downside was some of the beer lines needed changing but that was rectified.

I seem to buck the trend. Used to eat here a lot in the past and loved it. Not bee in some time so went one evening with friend and her child. We both ordered lamb shank, kids had pizza/suggests. Neither of them ate much, saying they didn't really like it. And my daughter is a. foodie

Always top of my list when going out for a meal and drinks as food is always really good quality for the money and service I can’t fault. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and is always a place I recommend to friends and family when they come to visit.Today was a massive let down and have gone down in my estimation. Went with my misses for her birthday food was great made the mistake of ordering cocktails only to hear the two young staff working behind the bar constantly making comments to one another about us ordering cocktails but decided to be friendly and not say anything to us when coming over to give us drinks and collect empty glasses.

Wow, what can I say…our visit today 22.6.24 .14.00 80th birthday! the staff were THE most attentive ever…right from walking through the door to leaving. The food was fantastic and the surroundings were great. Thank you for a special day. Highly recommended 🤘🏻

It's hard to find a clean and cosy place in England. This is one of the few places that caught my eye. Cosy enough and good quality food. Large portions and fast service.

The Lamb Henry was sublime, just glad I didn't have a starter or I would not have managed to eat the mains. The staff were very attentive and friendly. WELL DONE. Good value for the money.

While visiting Manchester we came across this beautiful place by accident as the first place we went to just wasn't up to scratch to say the least !! The Rising moon was so beautifully presented with its clean and elegant decor not to mention the care and kindness of all the staff (especially Grace who served us with great care to my needs as I was on crutches ) . Needless to say we would highly recommend this pub/ restaurant as the food was SUPERB!! Definitely going back when we come back to Manchester!!

Didn't make a booking as I don't like the need to pay a deposit but they accommodated our party of 6 as a walk in on a Saturday afternoon. Service was so friendly but be aware its fairly slow. Long wait to even be asked our drink order. I don't mind the wait because the food was amazing and fresh! There were so many options I was spoilt for chose so I went for the special that day the Salt and Pepper bowl The flavours, the temperature, the quality! I was 10/10 impressed and can't wait to go back and try something new Also the kids menu has a really good variety of options Update as of April 1st 2024. I have been back a few times and the food quality is consistently good. I don't like cauliflower but when I tucked into theirs..... beautiful. I think they must steam the veg it was amazing.

This was my 2nd visit, and it didn't disappoint. The food and service were good. We had a little wait for food as they said they were a chef down, but we'll worth the short wait.

Me and my friend went here for tea tonight. It's the first time I've been in years and I loved it. The food was excellent, really good portions and very reasonably priced. The service and overall atmosphere was great. I can't wait to go again!

Was in this pub for a meal with our son and his wife. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and the pub it self was clean and tidy and beautifully decorated. Will definitely be returning here again. And must say thank you to the staff for making our time here enjoyable
