Pub is in a really scenic area and decided to pop in on a whim. Lovely outdoor area, good parking availability. At first look at menu, was a bit dismayed that there was no vegan options for me, but a lovely waitress went and asked the chef, and he went out of his way to make something Vegan, and it was DELICIOUS. Aubergine done two ways, baked and fried, with the most delicious tomato sauce. Absolutely fantastic. 11/10. My Mum had the bacon and liver and said it was "Divine". The manager came over to check on us, and we mentioned that the Vegan meal could do with something like chips, next thing a basket of chips were brought, just so nice of them. Just highly recommend this pub, amazing food, outstanding staff. Will be back again!

Visited here on 25th August 2024 for a Sunday roast. We were shown to our table and asked if we would like to order drinks - before we had sat down! The garlic mushrooms and garlic bread starter was delicious. However, the Sunday roast was disappointing. The broccoli was undercooked (hard), the roast potatoes were overcooked (not fluffy inside), the beef was dry, and the Yorkshire pudding was soggy. We would not return for a Sunday roast.

Went for a nice family meal on Sunday 5pm waited over half an hour after starter for main meal then it was only warm not hot. Sat next to a group of very rowdy lads shouting swearing and Vaping! Not sure we will go back my 8 year old son was scared of all the noise and we couldn't relax for the fear of it kicking off. We left after main meal didn't bother with dessert.

Tried booking a table for 6 asked for a deposit which I confirmed Sent me a code then it wanted me to put my address details in etc but was asking for a zip code etc I was on a USA website so I phoned the pub who I spoke to a very rude and unhelpful woman who said I was on the wrong website but I wasn’t as I had rang her from the same website Didn’t get the booking and left me wondering if it had taken the £30 or not Would not return

Served by Grace who was helpful, funny and very friendly and welcoming. We had a great evening. Good food and drink. We will be back.

If you have not yet visited here you need to! Always a really good meal, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Lovely beer garden and children's play area with fantastic views, recommend booking a table as it does get very busy from opening especially at weekends and on a sunny day

Been to the rising moon many times, always a great experience. Great food and always welcoming staff, fully recommend.

Food and pub surroundings are amazing. But the service was such a let down. 2 members of staff was carrying the entire front of house team. Staff passing empty plates, forgetting dessert menus, staff to busy on phones rather than being present and looking after the customers and walking around like they are uninterested and no idea what they are doing. I don't usually leave such a bad review on a place I like. But previously being part of a management team for a pub restaurant I feel that the service has really let the place down and sadly the 2 members of staff who pulled there weight and did a fantastic job. They went above and beyond to correct the mistakes of uninterested others. Your food is fantastic your dining experience could be 5* but you need to polish up on the customer service from the younger members of staff.

I've been coming here with my husband and family since 2017 as it was our local until a few months ago and unfortunately since it changed hands, it's continued to go downhill. This evening (Saturday) they decided to close the bar for drinks at 830pm without shouting for last orders when there were approx 15 people still drinking in the bar and outside. The "manager" said that the directive from higher up (landlord) is to close when they're "quiet" and if we wanted to carry on drinking, we could go up the road to the Waggon and Horses. They did however reopen the bar temporarily for a larger group who were unhappy at their decision to close early, but refused to serve drinks to anybody else. I'm glad the "management team" don't work for me as they clearly wanted to finish early themselves to enjoy their Saturday night rather than continuing to take money from willing customers. Its a shame as this used to be a nice pub but the service and attitude is so poor that I won't bother going again.

Walked here arriving at 9pm on an August Saturday night to be told they had stopped serving. On asking why I was told by bar-staff "because there were only a few people in". As we left, a customer from an outside table entered to get more drinks! Realising that I was watching what happened the bar manager decided that we could, after all, be served. We declined and will never return. What a hopelessly inept way to run a pub. Shocking attitude towards two pensioners who were thirsty. Zero star rating for this dump.

Had a lovely meal on Saturday evening served by a lovely young lady called grace would of liked to if added a tip for her on our bill but was unable too and unfortunately we had no cash think u should be able to tip ur waitress or waiter on your bill by card Thank you G

Just been to the rising moon for a nice Sunday after noon out. We got told there would be a 45 minute wait before food which we didn't mind My partner liked his food who had spicy squid and the Atlantic salad Although mine was nothing to rage about, the parfait was watery and too much bread for the parfait. Then onto my mains, recently it just seems you don't get what you pay for, I paid £18 for a Sunday roast... The lamb was tough and fatty where my knife could not cut thru it. There was two roast potatoes and the mash, stuffing and some other mash, were just all piled under the meat together, where I don't like stuffing, luckily I seen it and moved it aside.. Finally after food I go into the gents cubicle where it has not been checked all day, the toilet seat was all wet, the floor was soaking wet and empty toilet roll holders too, really let the place down, plus wall paper missing around the window This place for me to be a 5star would need a better portion quality and just know how to look after the pub

Great pub for a chill out or a social

One great night out for the whole family, great experience, brilliant staff and service, and the food was amazing highly recommended

Food was absolutely lovely and very good portions , as well as the young man who served us really did a fantastic job at looking after everyone and had us laughing. But the atmosphere could have been better some background music might have helped in the dining room area. Overall a nice family meal out.

A fab steak, better than the one I had recently at a big steak chain. The fish and chips were also excellent. Only downside was some of the beer lines needed changing but that was rectified.

I seem to buck the trend. Used to eat here a lot in the past and loved it. Not bee in some time so went one evening with friend and her child. We both ordered lamb shank, kids had pizza/suggests. Neither of them ate much, saying they didn't really like it. And my daughter is a. foodie

Always top of my list when going out for a meal and drinks as food is always really good quality for the money and service I can’t fault. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and is always a place I recommend to friends and family when they come to visit.Today was a massive let down and have gone down in my estimation. Went with my misses for her birthday food was great made the mistake of ordering cocktails only to hear the two young staff working behind the bar constantly making comments to one another about us ordering cocktails but decided to be friendly and not say anything to us when coming over to give us drinks and collect empty glasses.

Wow, what can I say…our visit today 22.6.24 .14.00 80th birthday! the staff were THE most attentive ever…right from walking through the door to leaving. The food was fantastic and the surroundings were great. Thank you for a special day. Highly recommended 🤘🏻

It's hard to find a clean and cosy place in England. This is one of the few places that caught my eye. Cosy enough and good quality food. Large portions and fast service.

Food amazing 4 off us all had different and it came all together could not eat another thing when we got home

The Lamb Henry was sublime, just glad I didn't have a starter or I would not have managed to eat the mains. The staff were very attentive and friendly. WELL DONE. Good value for the money.

While visiting Manchester we came across this beautiful place by accident as the first place we went to just wasn't up to scratch to say the least !! The Rising moon was so beautifully presented with its clean and elegant decor not to mention the care and kindness of all the staff (especially Grace who served us with great care to my needs as I was on crutches ) . Needless to say we would highly recommend this pub/ restaurant as the food was SUPERB!! Definitely going back when we come back to Manchester!!

Came here with my family of 8 for my Birthday meal. Excellent food, fantastic staff and brilliant service. Highly recommended! Dog friendly at the bar area.

Didn't make a booking as I don't like the need to pay a deposit but they accommodated our party of 6 as a walk in on a Saturday afternoon. Service was so friendly but be aware its fairly slow. Long wait to even be asked our drink order. I don't mind the wait because the food was amazing and fresh! There were so many options I was spoilt for chose so I went for the special that day the Salt and Pepper bowl The flavours, the temperature, the quality! I was 10/10 impressed and can't wait to go back and try something new Also the kids menu has a really good variety of options Update as of April 1st 2024. I have been back a few times and the food quality is consistently good. I don't like cauliflower but when I tucked into theirs..... beautiful. I think they must steam the veg it was amazing.

This was my 2nd visit, and it didn't disappoint. The food and service were good. We had a little wait for food as they said they were a chef down, but we'll worth the short wait.

Me and my friend went here for tea tonight. It's the first time I've been in years and I loved it. The food was excellent, really good portions and very reasonably priced. The service and overall atmosphere was great. I can't wait to go again!

Was in this pub for a meal with our son and his wife. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and the pub it self was clean and tidy and beautifully decorated. Will definitely be returning here again. And must say thank you to the staff for making our time here enjoyable

My husband and I had such a great night at the Rising Moon last night. We had a lovely meal with fantastic prompt, polite and professional service from the staff and the quiz at the end wrapped up a good evening. We will definitely return 😀

Had lunch yesterday and it was excellent. The food came out together for all four and different meals all nice and hot complements to the chief. The service is very good Lovely staff very helpful. A very enjoyable lunch with friend. Thank you (we will be back) 😊

Been for the first time today as just moved to hyde and someone told us about the pub we thought we would give it a try nice food,fair price and staff where welcoming which is nice and some pubs dnt have that leave you standing for ages when you walk in would recommend and will be back thank you

Very busy at lunchtime on a Friday. Staff shortage meant we had to wait for our food. It was good food and staff very helpful but very busy. Desserts a bit disappointing, nothing different from the norm.

The food was excellent I had the lamb Henry staff friendly professional and not overbearing fantastic place well worth a visit also excellent value for money

Booked online late last night for a table of 5 & got confirmation straight away & a reminder this morning. Was greeted by a lovely young lady & directed to our table. Was served by Matt I think he was called. Was very polite & paid special attention to my MIL who's slightly hard of hearing. We all enjoyed our meals very much. I had the rag pudding, Mushy peas & gravy that I had been recommended. It was just what I had travelled all the way from Adelaide South Australia for 11/10. Highly recommend & hope I get to visit again for the Cheese & onion pie. Very reasonably priced. Worked out about £21pp including 1 starter & drinks & 3 coffees

I live in Portugal so came for a weekend to eat and drink well with family i see little and often.. wanted a great afternoon of food and wine .. wine was lovely, food was quick and amazing quality, the lamb Henry was to die for, service was 100% perfect.. the team working under Matt this day did this place proud .. thank you guys all round

Pre-booked, but about an hour before called in to say we had 3 dogs joining us. They switched us around so we could eat in the main bar area and they were dead nice about it. Food was gorgeous. Hot and fresh. Hope we didn't cause too much trouble behind the scenes by being pains in bums

Last week 2 people out of the 3 of us had steak & ale pie the crust was black ( burnt ) and the steak was tough & dry will never have that again we've been quite a few times here and that was the worse meal we ever had there

First visit from recommendation. Food was lovely and portions quite large . Service was swift and attentive without imposing .

Seated in very draughty spot. Asked for another warmer table, told all other tables fully booked although not marked as reserved. We had pre-booked and only 2 other diners seated. Eventually we were moved to somewhere more suitable and then able to enjoy our lunch

Food was nice but to be told to hurry up and order at 7.15pm as the kitchen closes at 8pm was not a good start. Main meal arrived soon after, asked for a coffee, turned the machines off at 8pm not once were we asked would we like a coffee before we turn them off. Told we could stay as they are doing a line clean but no drinks. Shocking experience. I would of thought a Monday night a business would be grateful for additional money, obviously not.

Food was nice but waited ages for it to come! And table service was poor most of the staff was messing around like school children behind the bar and never once came over to our table to see if food was ok or if we needed anything!

Nice cosy pub. Just called in for some lunch and had terrible service. We ordered food that didn’t arrive, the wait staff brought over a desert menu and didn’t come back for over 15 minutes. Could see several wait staff just on their phones behind the bar so we decided to just get up and pay otherwise we’d have been sat there all day I reckon

Such a lovely pub, nice atmosphere and the waitresses were great. If you are non GF then highly recommend the breakfast as my boyfriends food was good. The reason I’ve provided a negative rating for food is because you are listed on Gluten Free app as celiac friendly and this is not the case. The waitress wasn’t sure about allergies, then came back to say you don’t have any GF bread. So my full English breakfast, which I paid full price, consisted of two eggs, two rashers of bacon and some beans. It’s a shame as you’d get more business if you offered a GF option like you do on your mains (non breakfast) menu. Hopefully you can make some changes to make it easier for us :)

We book the last slot you could which was 7.45. We arrived on time then shown to our table before we'd sat down we were told you need to order quickly because kitchen finishes taking orders at 8. Then waitress came to take our order didn't ask if we'd like drinks, so I asked for drinks. Starter's were nice but my main which was steak wasn't it was very chewy at one point I started to choke my husband jumped up and started to pat me on the back and the steak popped out. My advice would be don't take the 7.45 booking it's so rushed. My husband said he'd never go back
