We love this pub/restaurant. The serving staff are awesome. They are kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Very friendly.

Very disappointed went for Sunday lunch, with two young children, waited over one hour for starters,( three soups), then waited 45 minutes for mains to arrive, Manager saying we should have been told on arrival they had an incident before we arrived and things were running late, other people received meals before us, manager very obnoxious and wasn’t there when we arrived, not the first time we have had this bad service. thought, we would give it another chance, never again.

Went on a Thursday lunchtime, real old pub vibe, real wood fire, amazing portion sizes and quality, seeing as this is in the middle of nowhere it was still busy ish, book and if its summer enjoy the country side first. Definitely going back.

Went for lunch 40 years after our 1st visit.in 1984. Had to have the same lunch, the team was happy to swap the mash for chips to oblige with sausage chips and peas. 40 years it cost 1.80 today 10.00 and we only got 2 sausages, against 3 back then. I know very sad.

Photos don't do it justice I forgot to take photos of the starters too but they was amazing i tried the chilli garlic tiger prawns I'm not usually a fan of prawns but I thought I'd try something out of my comfort zone and im glad i did honestly I was amazed they was so delicious. my partner had the pate he thoroughly enjoyed it this was our second visit in a week as we enjoyed the food that much there was a slight wait on the starters but the staff took the bottle of wine off of the bill to compensate for this which I thought was a lovley gesture. for mains we had the steak pie and lamb Henry it's something we have had before and will certainly be returning for again the lamb is so tender and just falls apart I can not express how much I enjoy the food here, the price is very reasonable too you have to try for yourself to truly appreciate it. can't wait for our next trip here.

Hidden gem, can't believe after all the years of living nearby we never knew it existed! Hosts and staff are really friendly, the decor is lovely and of course the food is top notch!

After an afternoon’s walk so lovely to come across a great pub with excellent food, fab service and with a warm welcome in a beautiful setting. Very reasonably priced too. Best Guiness i’ve had in a long while. Worth the trip.

Had Sunday dinner. Very nice ,I had the beef. It was REAL beef😏and very nice but my daughter's lamb was to die for. So tasty. Yorkshire pudding was too salty. We mentioned it to the. Waitress n she said she would tell chef. Excellent red wine. Beautiful ambience in the pub and spotless. Friendly staff. X

Went here Saturday at 12.30, it was a table for 4 and we were seen to our table by a friendly waitress, ordered our meals which took about half an hour, which I thought was good and when they arrived they were all piping hot. Couldn't find fault at all like some of the other reviews, will definitely be back. Lovely little pub. Thank you

This place is seriously such a little gold gem! It's hidden away like a true little fairy kingdom, but my god! What an exceptional little place it is! The environment is a perfect little haven set in astonishing natural countryside surroundings! I promise if its natural beautiful scenery you're craving look no further! The staff are so welcoming and friendly! True little friendly farmer folk who cannot do enough to make you feel welcome!.... and then there's the food!!! I honestly think that I have not EVER eaten a lamb Henry like it! And I assure you that I've eaten my fair few! Just simply perfectly delicious! Thank-you so much for making my 40th birthday so memorable 💖

First time here. Everything great, however, they need to take the wheelchair accessible toilet off their website,as it had 3 steps to the toilet. Also no handrails on the steps. Minor details to some, colossal mountain to climb to others! We WILL be going again because everything else was GREAT.

We had a lovely lunch at The Hare and Hounds at Luzley. The food was good, the ambience was welcoming and the service was excellent.

Some parts of the food were lovely, and others disappointed me. I was expecting chefs tartare sauce, home made mushy peas and "gourmet" chips (as per the menu) but instead I got what tasted and looked like dry oven chips, out of the tin peas and out of the jar tartare. The fish was cooked really nicely but they do that in chippies I would have expected better from a gastro pub.

Had a wonderful lunch here on Friday. What a beautiful pub with lovely decor. I had the best cheese and onion pie with a mixture of fresh veg and chunky chips. My husband had a double cheeseburger with salad. It was delicious. Our waitress was so helpful, quick and very friendly. We will be going back soon. Thankyou. X

No-one in our party of ten enjoyed the meal, which was for my Mum's 70th Birthday. Staff didn't know know the basics of the menu e.g. the choice of side potatoes for mains. The menu didn't state which dishes were/could be made gluten-free. It took 60 mins for a handful of starters to arrive and then two were wrong! When mains arrived after another 30 minutes, vegetables were missing or soggy, the steak pie was overdone, and the Yorkshire pudding was burnt. There was only one ale on the pumps and the service was chaotic. The manager apologised at the end but we definitely won't be back!

Extremely friendly staff, as for the it was rubbish I had a steak pudding which contained mince,all my party of 15 were extremely disappointed,as I visitor from Cornanwall I suggest you visit us and have some decent food,this is no reflection on the waitresses who were great and we left them a sizable tip,would not recommend this pub

Had a roast beef dinner, very diapointing. The roast beef wasn't edible, it was clearly from a packet of pre sliced beef and the Yorkshire pudding was burnt. I absolutely wouldn't recommend

Walked up to the Hare and Hounds only to find out they are not serving food unless you have booked a table. I had looked on the website, which does have events on but no mention that they would not serve food unless a table is booked for Easter Sunday. I arrived at about 1:30pm and it was very quiet, I could only see two tables being used for food so don't understand why they couldn't serve food to other people. No thought to customers at all. Added after owners comments My point is that you were not serving the menus you normally do, only a set menu was available for people who had prebooked. Your website didn't mention this and shows menus and times that should have been available, if you advertise menus and times on your website you should honour these. All I wanted to order was 2 sandwiches from the Lite Bites menu.

My self and a party of a further 13 had a lunchtime meal on Easter Saturday, the service was excellent as was the food to serve 14 people a variety of dishes including 5 mixed grills at the same time with hot fresh food is testament to the kitchen staff keeping in mind the number of other diners . A very well deserved 5 stars for all involved.

Booked a table for 4pm and main courses arrived at 5.30! Food was great when it arrived but we didn't stay for a dessert after waiting 15 minutes for the dessert menu. Very disappointed by such poor service on this visit - the restaurant was busy but not every table was in use so I can't understand why we were ignored so much.

Lovely Sunday dinner, the Lamb Henry was excellent, good choice of desserts. Roaring log fire burning which was nice to see. The location has great views of the local area..Staff were also very helpful. Already looking forward to visiting again. Highly recommended.

I’ve eaten here numerous times and found the food very nice, but unfortunately today I had the lamb Henry and haven’t been off the toilet since, within 10 minutes this happened, can’t honestly say it was the lamb or the veg, so strange, really nice staff though.

Found this place by mistake. Thankyou uber. Absolutely delightful. The food was a big hit. My dad really enjoyed the.lamb Henry. The staff were superb. Very attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back again

Generally good, but when I order a half pint I don't want a pint which is what I got. The mixed grill was OK but when I asked for the meat rare I got medium to well done. Portions were good and the atmosphere very nice.

Sorrowful this evening , number of main menu items not available. Starter presentation was poor . Only real option was a steak. Sadly mine was quite dry ,couldn't recommend. Waited to be asked about my steak for an ,eventually realised it wasnt going to happen so had no choice other than to eat it ! No more customers after 7.30pm which I presumed reflects the poor service and quality . Can only recommend to eat elsewhere.

One of the best Sunday lunches I have had for a very long time. from arriving to the time for us to leave the staff were there looking after us. the Sunday lunch was excellent. atmosphere in the INN was so friendly. Good food. Although we had been told to pre-order a couple of days earlier but were told some of our choices weren't available when we got there. Other people should have been told not available not us otherwise what's the point in pre-ordering?

Nice cosy pub, but quite expensive.

Lovely little place, nicely decorated, presently ready for Christmas but tastefully so. Food good, service friendly, great winter pub (a bit out of the way, I suspect they do better in summer), servings a good size and by no means overpriced, nice presentation. I have paid more elsewhere for food that was way more "traditional", ie you could make it at home yourself with no trouble. My mother had no complaints and that is a rare thing in a catering establishment, she was a silver service waitress and expects a lot. She said nice things about the toilets also. The outside area is very nice in summer.

When you go for a Sunday dinner you expect gravy but here they put about two drops on and expext you to pay £1.50 for a little gravy boat. Beef was dry meal was OK don't get much. Will not be back for food.

Popped in for a coffee and a warm up after a walk. It was lovely and warm, my coffee was nice, though the staff can't be asked for mocaccinos very often as they looked puzzled when my wife asked for it 😂
