Ordered vegan cupcakes in September for daughter's birthday. We paid £25 on collection and crossed over the road to the venue. When we got there this is how we opened the box (picture). So my question is how can they sell cupcakes without cupcake holders? We phoned Rio immediately who said we could bring them back to re-ice after 5pm, by which point we were in full swing of the party which finished at 3pm, and our vegan guests didn't get to have any cake but they did get to see the cake mush we got given my Rio. We tried to chase a refund and we were ignored by management. So have to leave negative feedback for the presentation of the cupcakes and lack of resolution. We will no longer recommend this place to our friends and family. Terrible service.

I went with my family after longtime to eat some icecream today, I was disappointed the service which I received it, we ordered mix fruit icecream, coffee flavour, nut icecream and more some of the flavours they don't have, nut icecreams served without nut and biscuits. I do not recommend Rio ice cream

I just bought the chocolate cake from the for my wife's birthday, cake quality is too bad its getting sour.... When i talk about the staff of this shop they aren't professional even they don't know how to give respect to the customer... I am a regular customer they knows me but i will never buy cake or anything from this shop because of the attitude of staff.

Customer service amazing!!!!!! I showed the gentleman the picture of what and how I want it, he delivered it beautifully and more. The guss at my wedding loved loved the cake🥰🥰🥰 It's a place I can recommend at anytime with confidence.

I recently got married on July 25, 2024, and a few weeks before, my partner and I ordered two cakes from Rio Ice Cream & Cake. When we came to collect them, we were blown away. The cakes were beyond our expectations, they looked absolutely stunning and tasted even better. All our guests were amazed by how luxurious and delicious they were. We received so many compliments, and everyone was convinced we made the right choice. Plus, the cost was more reasonable than other places we checked out. The quality of service was impressive. Thank you, Rio Ice Cream & Cake, for making our special day even sweeter!

We ordered the strawberry cake and vanilla cake with a scoop of ice cream each for two people. The strawberry cake was a bit sweet according to the eater. I had the vanilla cake which was delicious and light. Despite the warm weather the ice cream was still appropriately cold and delicious. A very pleasing dessert for two. We will likely be ordering from this place again in future.

Lovely cake as always, been here many times and never disappointed! Ordered a cake for my son’s birthday and the cake was made so beautifully as requested. I sent many designs over the years and always happy how they turned out. Very impressed! The kids loved it. The cake tasted so light and delicious, a Unique taste indeed, not too sweet like other shops we have tried and can always adjust sweetness according to your taste, reasonable price too! The guests enjoyed the cake so much we barely had any left! Amazing!

Ordered a cake for my son’s 18th. I wasn’t sure about this place so I spoke to Meena and Neil who had no problem letting me try a sample before making the order. Everyone loved how light and tasty it was and had seconds. Reasonable price too. Thanks.

Wow! Once again, yesterday’s cake was just perfect👌. From the design to the taste everything was faultless and so nice that there wasn’t enough left for the birthday boy. WELL DONE for a such a great job over 10 years! Honestly, Rio Ice cream & Unique cake 4u is the BEST❤️.

Ordered their butterscotch cake on 14-Feb-2024 through deliveroo. The cake was really nice, the sponge was a bit dry for my liking. But the icing was amazing. Good quality soft cream with nice butterscotch flavor, nothing over the top. I say, the cake was good value for money and delivery time was also reasonable. If you are looking for a decent cake at a reasonable price, then do try them.

I love the cake from them and usually on time delivery. Today accepted the order to be made in an hour and took absolute ages to collect. Could have been upfront about the waiting time. lied and took the order and made me wait. Never again. Update after the Rio's reply - It's a blatant lie that I kept changing my mind. I agreed to a cake and quoted an hour time to get the cake therefore I paid you and waited for an hour. Cake wasn't ready. Cake finally was ready after 4 hours. The reason was given they were busy. Now blaming me. If you can't deliver in an hour why would you accept the order? Why don't you be honest about it. I am really disappointed how cheap you go to lie about the situation. Disgusting.

The birthday cake was very tasty and it has some sparkle deco on top. The owner was able to match my requirements and he was very flexible. Great cake and great value. Definitely buy cake from them again!

The worst experience I have ever had. The cake was nothing what I expected, they explained one thing i got nothing like that. Paid a lot of money and, I am really disappointed!!! Another thing we had to wait this is bull... I had to come over 3 times to collect it because it wasn't finished. Never ever come back there. And I wouldn't recommend it to enyone. Because of the waiting I had a lot of stress... If I could give 0 stars I would!

Bought a cake here yesterday. Cake tasted expired and chucked it in the bin immediately. Now I know why she gave us a discount when we paid. She knew what was up.

The fresh cream cakes here are amazing. He put oreos and edible glitter on mine! It was so beautiful.. and delicious!😍 It lasts much longer without fruit. If you want fruit, i would say add it yourself just before serving. He is very helpful and friendly. I'm glad I visited. The ice cream and gelato are also yummy.

Yesterday i brought 2 cakes and was expecting the cake box type flavour as this is what i was accustom to however this place far exceeded my expectation and shown how nice cake should taste wanting another slice which in normal cases i always stop after my first slice. Big up chef

It is not like the Sri Lankan Rio everyone knows . Terribly awful, went wrong . No one greeted us. They didn’t even ask for the flavours. They took so long . The ice cream tasted like cardboard. The Rio in Jaffna is better and probably the best Rio. It tastes so bad.

Professional and friendly staff. The cake was excellent. It was soft, not too sweet not too bland. It was very delicious. The whole family enjoyed it I could have eaten the whole cake alone. I highly recommend this bakery.. I will be ordering family Xmas cake from this bakery..

Seating area very bad - Not comfortable at all. Toilet not clean. Ice cream not good as Jaffna taste. Even not much the taste with dreams / creams.Customer Service very delayed. I posted above review before ………but I received two different reply from the owner. 1st one receive to my email and the 2nd one to the review page. ( photos Attached) I don’t understand why the owner this much attitude. I only post my experience when I visited there. Also I have the rights to review the service and product but you said ‘shame on you write the comments like this’. I never experienced this type of reply from the service providers. Also you said ‘ Above all you did not write any reviews about any other outlets but you decided to write about us’. We went to Rio on Sunday night around 9 pm, as soon as we walked in there were two female staff members on duty. They didn't greet us, they were chatting loudly themselves, lousy customer service. I saw the cutlery of the previous customers was on the table, our table had the pieces of nuts. After 40 minutes our ice creams were served, the flavours were so strange that they cannot be compared to the original Jaffna Rio flavour, The price is expensive for the service and the taste of the Ice Cream.

Not very impressed with the flavours.strawberry flavour is full of colouring mix and bitter took this for my son and not liked .also the few other flavours wasn't in stock in the very hotest day.not like the real Rio in Sri Lanka

I had very bad experience at Rio Cakes Lewisham today - poor customer service and highly unprofessional staff. I had ordered customised cake to celebrate my daughter’s birthday; however inspite of charging me full money, Rio Cakes Lewisham did not make the cake as requested by us and instead asked for more money to make the cake as per original request & order. No one at Rio Cakes Lewisham apologied for their mistake and finally I paid extra money (some sort of ransom) to get my daughter birthday cake. It was highly unprofessional and unpleasant experience for me ….I am assuming owner of this place will not encourage this kind of behaviour of staff with customers ??

Typical Sri Lankan taste ice cream worth the money. The name Rio is well known amongst Sri Lankans because its a popular brand hailing from North of Sri Lanka. There is loads of people visiting just for the name. Its very short staffed just two to take order prepare the desserts & to bring it to the table.

We went to this place with friends, very disappointed taste was very bad, single staff working, found hair in ice-cream milkshake, was very thick hard to drink kids were very upset. 😌 😞
