I stayed at Ringwood Hall Hotel and Spa from 24th–26th May and was very disappointed. I was told the hotel is under new management and trying to improve reviews – but my experience didn’t reflect that at all. My room was in a remote outbuilding, dark and gloomy due to windows covered in thick foliage, and the net curtains were full of holes. The floor hadn’t been hoovered, the toilet seat was loose, and the basin barely drained. I raised the issues during my stay and followed up after – no response at all. If management really wants to improve, they need to start by addressing basic maintenance and actually responding to guest complaints. Not the 4-star standard I expected. Wouldn’t return until serious improvements are made.

Myself and now husband got married on the 22nd of May at ringwood hall- I can’t fault a single thing, the rooms were amazing, clean and comfortable- the staff are very friendly and helpful! Milly our late night bar server in the marquee was very chatty and friendly Jo our nighttime MC was brilliant, friendly, helpful, helped made our night smooth. The food we had was delicious! Everyone loved it fresh, hot and plenty of( hog roast) Sian who I emailed constantly was very very helpful! Answered any questions I had and was really good at communicating. Lyndon our main daytime MC was incredible, myself and my partner requested him after meeting with him for 5 minutes went so much out of his way. Started work 2 hours earlier so he could make sure we were both okay and everything was going right came to me in the room when I was getting ready to see how I was feeling. Went and got my slippers from my room and put them on made me feel special. I gave him my phone so I could record all the ceremony, first dance and speeches and he did a great job of setting it up and making sure it captured everything I know can look back on everything. Really friendly guy certainly knows his stuff would recommend him 100% to anyone getting married, makes you able to enjoy your day as you have peace of mind that your guests and everything is running smoothly and everyone is happy The place itself is absolutely stunning very well maintained by the gardeners, the bridal suite 121 is gorgeous- the getting ready room 201 was lovely, the shower was something else it was brilliant, like surrounded by water in a glass panel really noce touch Everything was clean, beds super comfortable, the breakfast was delicious went up for 3 plates plenty of choice. The spa is really nice small but intimate myself and husband chilled here the day after the wedding. I’ve already said I want to go back to the spa, spend the night and have breakfast again even just walking the grounds and having a cuppa is really nice. On the main road but feels like your in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature Really lovely place and I’m so glad we had our special day here!

I stayed in the hotel as part of a package deal. It was brilliant start to finish. The spa is lovely and has so many different facilities and treatments avaliable. The food was brilliant and service was excellent. The bedrooms were a little dated but clean and tidy. I used the gym, which was small but had plenty of equipment which seemed new and clean. Unfortunately, there was an incident in the breakfast room between guests of the hotel which turned violent. No fault of the staff and the only reason I thought to mention it in a review was that that staff handled it so professionally and safely. I really felt for them and I thought they did a superb job. I would like to stay again.

The hotel was lovely in quiet location with pretty gardens. We both booked a spa and massage. The massage was lovely by Kimberley and Hannah. The Spa wasn't good at all, lockers so difficult to use and the pool and jacuzzi was barely Luke warm so no one went in it. They did refund my money though which was good of them. The restaurant in the evening was lovely. Exceptional food and service which we could not fault. My husband had lamb tagine and I had the chicken Supreme which was the best meal I've ever had. Comfy large rooms with the comfiest beds ever. We slept so well I wish we had have stayed longer. Breakfast again was exceptional with full English breakfast, crumpets and pastries. Would have liked the options as stated on the breakfast menu of eggs benedict, however advised it was just full English which I didn't really want so had melon and toast. Before leaving we had booked an afternoon tea which was served by Karen?, so friendly and polite, the afternoon tea was also perfect. All in all a wonderful stay and would return. Thank you.

I have been for spa morning with friends today. I will start with the positives all the staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. My treatment was great the room lovely. But our coffee and cake after our treatment was ridiculous. We were waiting over an hour as there was two pieces of chocolate cake and 4 unappetising Blondie squares. The lovely young girl went to see she could find any. She came back with a box, apparently she had popped over to the hotel but was then told it was not appropriate for us but some was being delivered. We sat waiting in our wet swim wear ( yes we had our robes and towels but they were getting wet) in a cold room, we didn't want to get changed as we were going back into the spa! After an hour no further cake came so we had the last pieces left, no choice the Blondie was dry and tasteless definitely NOT the treat we were expecting!!

I have visited the spa around 4-5 times over the years and always loved the facilities I visited on New Year’s Day for a well needed break, when booking I wasn’t told that the pool or warm water wasn’t working, on the day the staff were lovely as usual- this is the only saving grace I went into the pool and the water was really cold, I went to reception and she informed me that they are having problems with their pool, I don’t know why I wasn’t told this at the point of arrival or booking, I would have just rebooked when this was working!? Most of the jets weren’t working either, so no way to heat the water slightly I decided to let this slip and make use of the rest of the facilities, but upon leaving the shower water was absolutely freezing, I had oil in my hair I had to wash out and had to stand in someone else’s dirty shower water as both showers were running cold- there was nothing the staff could do about this either I have emailed the manager and left plenty of time for Ringwood hall spa to contact me, but I’ve not heard anything back- hence the 1 star review Do your research before booking and check if the facilities are working, the spa shouldn’t really be open when having boiler problems, otherwise a nice place to visit but really disappointed this time

A joke from the get go. We stayed here before in April last year and had a lovely time great food great suite and a fantastic spar day so when we managed to get a 3 day respite break for our daughter we thought it would be the perfect place to go and relax over new year….. boy was we wrong When we arrived we tried to book a table in the restaurant as we had been told we could book when we got there the young lass on reception went into the office to the manager who informed her the restaurant was closed to residents so off to Pizza Hut we went When we arrived at the room 142 we were greeted with rips in the blinds torn and stained wallpaper and pillow I could only describe as paving slabs no life in them flat and very uncomfortable and stained. We tried to use the to which was like something from the 80’s it was as dated as the decor in the room the remote didn’t work and the picture was fuzzy and unwatchable feeling a bit deflated i decided to have a nice relaxing bubble bath seeing as there was a small bath in the corner of the room with jets in (when I say small when I sat in it it brought childhood memories back of being washed in the kitchen sink) the jets did not work and was informed the following morning when complaining about the room that they were for decoration purposes only ….. a bit like the non existent WiFi that they offer We were moved to another room the next day having to hang around until the cleaners who can’t clean finished with the room. The room was better but still not that clean a thick build up of dirt in the crease of the bath panel was my favourite. The next morning we decided to try breakfast it was the only thing I wasn’t happy with when we came before but hearing it was plated and not a buffet filled me with hope… that was short lived I ordered a sausage sandwich which came out half cooked and at around 15 degrees in warmth my partner ordered a full English which tasted like it had been prepared in the attic it was freezing cold we left unsatisfied Went to dinner that night waited 30 minutes to get just the drinks on the table let alone any food and we were one of 6 tables in the restaurant absolute joke We booked for the spar in person for the following day when we arrived for our slot we were given towels and robes and sent on our way it seemed a bit strange that the last time we got a tour but this time they couldn’t get us away quick enough and walking into the main spar area we knew why …. It was filthy the water was murky and only 1 of the 5 jets were working and no heating in the dirty mud pool when we mentioned it we were told sorry yeah they broke yesterday so there’s no heating in the pool. There as a thick line of dirt just above the water level no music just a drone of a fan going constantly When we mentioned our disappointment to who we can only assume was the manager she told us we were supposed to have received a call and they couldn’t get an engineer out the previous day so at the time of booking and entering the spar on the day they were aware of the disgusting and inadequate facilities. Decided to go for a drink and a bit of lunch cos they couldn’t screw up and ham and cheese toasty right?…. Wrong came our cold and not even slightly melted when I asked for it to be melted took another 15 minutes and tasted like it had be placed in something sweet Whenever we asked to speak to the manager he was hiding away either that or he is the only General Manager that gets to work 9am-1pm of a day no wonder. The place has turned into an overpriced travel lodge when the manager doesn’t even care We were given a refund for 50% of the first night but considering the bad experience and us being there for 3 nights it was an insult it’s such a shame as this used to be a lovely place

Did a bunch of research and ended up here. We paid £330pp for a 2 night stay, 3 meals a day + an hour treatment, a lot less expensive than many other places. For me, the experience was really great. Booking everything was a little complex (you book stay/meals then spa/treatments separately), but the staff were the loveliest whilst we were there. The spa area isn't huge but it was clean and calm, nice range of spa-things to do whilst you're there. The best part was the treatment, I opted for a back massage and facial and it was one of the best back massages I've ever had. The building and grounds are incredible, it's an old building but it's been maintained beautifully. Our room was large and spacious and clean. There are definitely bigger and fancier places, the staff were lovely but perhaps not always equipped to deal with queries or problems, but all in all, you get what you pay for and we had a really lovely weekend there.

I found this hotel on Booking.com whilst looking for somewhere to stay near the Peak District for a half term break. We normally stay in Premier Inns but I saw this Ringwood Hall hotel was the same price as the local Premier Inns over half term. It is a good location for getting into the Peak District and for going to Sheffield, lots of choice of local restaurants and other local amenities. The service we have experienced has been friendly. The only let down really has been the room, the bed has been borderline uncomfortable and the room is on the brink of feeling a little unloved/run down. There are spa facilities on site which is available for an extra charge which we did not experience. It has been fine but if the Premier Inn was cheaper I definitely would have preferred to have stayed there.

Room, grounds and spa were lovely, however the communication between departments was not good, on three different occasions I got told I had an outstanding amount on my booking, I didnt as I paid this when I checked in. The restaurant and the spa both told me the same, which as you can imagine is embarrassing when people stood behind us. The bath and sink were not clean, other than that the room was OK. Then the food, the chips were either over cooked or not cooked, the steak was an embarrassment for £30, and the burger was a soggy mess. We maybe had eaten 10% of our food, it got taken away without any questions, and when I asked for the bill I was told "its already on the way" . Hows that when I hadnt asked for it When we got to the spa we were shown the changing rooms, annnndddd then was it, we missed out on so many other features the spa had, we were not given a tour and we were not given directions around the spa, we later realised there were relaxation rooms upstairs, also if we have had a tour we would of known not to walk into a treatment room, that was not marked as a treatment room, WITH SOMEBODY IN IT having a treatment, again, very embarrassing. VERY DISAPPOINTED. The fact that we just wanted to relax saved them. All in all, it was an OK experience, I would not recommend not worth the money

The worst spa I have ever been to, that is not an exaggeration and the same price as luxury spas. We have booked a day spa 2-6pm, there are current 18 people in the spa (I’m writing this sat in the spa now) there are only 4 lounge beds. A couple across from me are currently sharing a bed. There wasn’t even an available locker for my partner to but his bag and clothes in, one of the ladies on reception had to carry his bag into the ladies changing room so I could put it in mine, this is due to only having 8 lockers in the male changing room and the spa being overbooked and crowded for the size of it. The pool is more of a water feature in the centre of the spa it is tiny!! Poor facilities, tiny steam rooms/sauna. Absolutely terrible. We go to ye olde bell spa often, at least once a month and that blows this out of the water and is the same price. Awful and incredibly disappointing.

Nice staff and breakfast . The building is a bit tired and old and could do with a bit of an upgrade , the building itself must have had a few ad ons and knock throughs as it was like a maze trying to get around the building , the signage was decent but you were going up and down staircases and up and down more staircases , a tip if you stay here leave your luggage at the reception and get them to take it to your room . Bedroom is tired with dark furnishings and a poor quality mattress , tv had poor reception and bathroom needs a bit of maintenance , toilet not a good flush , shower is in a bad position and is pretty weak and the bath has no grab handle on the wall for when you have a shower and no antislip mat for the base of the bath when having a shower . The grounds are nice if not spectacular

I recently visited the Ringwood Hall Spa and had a mixed experience. While the facilities were pleasant, especially the sauna which I thoroughly enjoyed, some aspects were disappointing. The robe and towels provided were of really bad quality, which detracted from the overall comfort. Unfortunately, the massage I received was probably the worst I have ever had. The therapist had extremely long nails, making it impossible for her to use her fingers effectively. As a result, I was mostly rubbed with her palms. In the areas where she did use her fingers, like my feet and arms, I kept getting scratched. Additionally, she couldn't properly massage my head due to her nails and ended up just playing with my hair and applying more oil, which was quite frustrating. To make matters worse, the therapist sniffed continuously throughout my massage, which was unpleasant and distracting. It was clear that she was sick and should not have been allowed to work so closely with clients in that condition. Overall, while the facilities had potential, the poor quality of the robe and towels, along with the subpar massage experience, significantly impacted my visit. I hope Ringwood Hall Spa can address these issues to improve the experience for future guests.

Only used the spa and was very disappointed. Paid nearly £200 for the serenity afternoon package. The food was delicious and the spa itself has great facilities but it was the opposite of relaxing. Full of hen parties and groups of people chatting loudly and incessantly, even though the rules they make you agree to say you should keep your voice down and be considerate of others. Even in the quiet rooms there were people having loud conversations and doors constantly opening and closing and staff chatting to eachother. If you're looking for a relaxing couples spa day, give it a miss. We left after 2 hours even though we had 4 hours of time available. Came out more stressed than we went in.

Why bother asking if anyone has any allergies!!!!!! Staff need training!!!! One of our party has a Gluten Free Allergy and after having afternoon tea that obviously contained gluten she was unwell so she went to tell staff that they need to be extra careful when it comes to the evening meal, what happened at the evening meal is beyond belief. The young waiter came out with 2 starters and said I have 2 gluten free meals and we all replied with we only have one person that needs a GF meal he didn’t have a clue which one was GF the meal should have been brought out on it’s own and made sure it was kept separately from all the other meals Then it went downhill from there!!!! This was supposed to be a lovely weekend away on my daughter’s hen party and she ended up poorly all weekend Staff have been informed as we left that we would complain at the highest level as they need to understand allergies can be life threatening 😡😡

Returning from an amazing two night three day package stay deal to celebrate my 40th birthday with my mum and sister. All I can say is what an unforgettable special place it is. The efforts they went to to make me and my family feel special was incredible. The spar was perfect (relaxing, clean, not too crowded, as some can be). The massage was great and the relaxation area a dream! The food was great, large portions so you won’t go hungry for those with an appetite but if you couldn’t finish it they would box it for you, which is a really thoughtful touch. It was also beautifully presented and again waiting staff were really polite and couldn’t do enough for us, even laying out decoration on the table for my birthday celebration. The room we had was very spacious, tidy, and clean and suited our standard as comfy and cozy. So we were really happy! The grounds which we explored when the sun came out were picturesque and well worth a stroll round. The roses incredible and walled garden enchanting. Overall if you want amazing value for money, an experience where they care and go the extra mile, and a place you go to unwind and feel pampered, then this a great place to choose.

Received a spa day with overnight stay for a Saturday. Had afternoon tea and 3 course evening meal included. Could not fault the spa and massage treatment. However despite a phone call from Ringwood Hall during the week leading up to my stay, when we arrived for our afternoon tea they did not have us booked in, we were given a table but had to wait 20 minutes to be asked if we want tea or coffee. A dinner reservation had been made for me and my daughter for 8pm but again when we arrived in the restaurant there was no reservation booked for us. When more than £450 was paid for the stay the little details matter. The room was lovely and clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is a self serve and there was plenty of cooked breakfast, pastries cereals and breads, with tea coffee and fruit juices there is something for everyone. I will return but will double check all bookings and reservations are made.

The hotel was in a great location, and the building was beautiful. We booked an executive room as it was advertised as having a garden view. The room was spacious. However, there was a great big tree outside the window blocking the view entirely and quite a bit of light. The tree tapped on the window most of the night. First room 212 executive double room was up 2 flights of stairs, down a corridor, and up and down more stairs, to a cold very dusty room. There was dust on the sides, cobwebs on the lights along with layers of dust. The bed was like sitting on the valance base, with no mattress, and the water wasnt very hot! The electric heater gave off a burning smell when we turned it on😬🫣This is the 1st time I have EVER complained about a room! We were upgraded to a suite, that wasn't really that much better! The bed was tired and mattress was shocking hard and pointless being on the valance base. But we had hot water💧 Oliver, Chelsea and the receptionist think her name was Anna 🤔 were very helpful, and are a real credit to the hotel. They made our stay that bit more bearable. Money could be better spent on furnishings, decorating and cleaners, instead of wasting money on individual condiments, that cost more to recycle than to buy..... Such a shame because Ringwood Hall could be as beautiful as its gardens with a little time and money spent in the right places.

I'm not sure why it is like a fine dine restaurant. I wish there were negative reviews to give. Firstly, a restaurant like this the service is appalling. You need to keep calling the waiter. Which is not a big issue. But when your restaurant is only 30% full, how does it take 15 minutes to bring drinks and 50 minutes to bring your food. It looked like all staff were very lethargic. The worst part was the menu. When your dish says 'Gnocchi Al Pesto' and the description says it's made with Pesto sauce, you would expect to have a Pesto taste in your dish. But the dish came with tangy tomato sauce, which tasted nothing close to Pesto. When mentioning to the manager, she was adamant that the menu mentions Tomato, so Pesto sauce is mixed with tomato. It doesn't make up to your taste, but they never had complaints. I explained that your dish name and description mention Pesto and Pesto sauce. So, as any normal customer, i ordered a dish thinking to be tasting like Pesto. But she was adamant that they couldn't really do anything regarding it and won't replace the meal and would charge me. Worthless argument and not ready to serve customers. She was pretending as if i had never had a dish containing Pesto or didn't know what it was. She didn't even try to compensate or offer anything to make it. Worst service and experience ever. In the end, I had to take the dish home in a container. Please look at the pictures below what you had given and what exactly the dish should be like. Other food was average and overpriced.
