Ridgeway Grill - Fish and Chips in Plymouth

Horrible, my boyfriend is allergic to tomatoes so we specifically asked for ketchup on the side (for me) away from the meal so he can eat it aswell but he layered the ketchup throughout the meal as per not requested. Terrible please don't eat here.

Food was delivered early. It was nicely cooked and very enjoyable.

As usual from here good quality and tasty. Fast delivery and hot.

Still not here. Waited over a hour now. And I live 5 mins away.

food came late, food was stale and cold mozzarella dippers was stale and modly chips was soggy and wet and the cheese looked wet. i want a refund please .

Had our usual, kebab meat, chips and salad. Salad was huge chunks of cucumber and the lamb meat was awful 😖 Really bitty and cold 🥶 We always get from Ridgeway as usually it's 5*. we'll try again soon.

Phoned prior to ordering and collection to make sure the card machine was working as last week and the week prior we ordered for the card machine to not work and have to go hunting for a working cash machine to withdraw cash to then go back and pay... resulting in cold food.. phoned tonight in advance to make sure card machine was working and the response from the employee was can't tell you until.you try your card out machine dosent really work because of the signal 🤷‍♂️

wasn't 45 mins late was 40, I have never left a bad review before but I've never ordered from here before,driver said we had to pay more for delivery,food was late, very cold and all three of us binned it! Never before have we done this, I have never thrown away kebab before but the meat was like the stuff you buy frozen in the supermarket,never again!

Ordered a chicken kebab and was sent lamb 🤢

Went in to order my kebab and food for the wife, namely, large doner and a falafel wrap. The reason for going to the shop in person was to get the wife's falafel wrap with chilli sauce - which, on the app, you cannot select (or any other sauces) as an option. I happened to mention this to the owner whilst I was there, and amazingly before I left with my (very nice food, as always) order, he had altered the app to allow the selection of sauces for falafel wraps - great customer service.

Ordered the XL chicken kebab wasn't alot there definitely not as big a portion to previous orders. Spuds had no flavour and again portion not as big as usual

2 hours later it arrives , food was cold dry very poor

I struggle to see how this was an extra-large. A small amount of meat with a few chips and salad. In a normal sized tray. No this wasn't extra large at all.

Delivery was on time, but food, unfortunately wasn’t good. Everything was cold., spicy spuds cold. Salad was mostly just coleslaw, no lettuce.

Food was cold on delivery, didn't look like the driver had kept in in a food bag, handed it over in a plastic bag. I'm sure if it was in a proper insulated bag, it would have been much warmer. Food otherwise was good.

We ordered cheese on our chips but didn’t receive it and also never received our cans

We have been going to get take out from the Ridge way Grill for many years. Most of the time the food has been good, although there have been times when it’s not up to the usual standard. I’m not sure if this has been taken over by new management, but we ordered our usual, which is spicy potatoes and chicken shish with salad and chilli sauce. The potatoes were mushy and no taste, the chicken breast, if that’s what it was, definitely was not the usual quality of breast meat, it was cut into small bits, where as usually it’s a butterflied breast cooked on the grill. This did not taste nor look like any previous chicken shish. The next disappointment was the chilli sauce, its was very watery, and not heat to it at all! In my opinion this place has hit rock bottom on their food. I will no longer be eating here again. £19.50 wasted, as neither myself or partner are much of it. Very disappointed!!

First time we ordered from them was tonight Food great had an xl donner, large lamb shish and garlic mushrooms. We loved it and will order from thsm again soon.

The chips were phenomenal, thin but crispy with a good taste and came with a decent amount for £2.20. The curry sauce was good with the amount and quality for 1.50, on par with other places if not better. The burger reminded me of BBQs I’ve been too in the past and was quite tasty. Overall good food for the price and the wait wasn’t too bad.

Nice donner, good amount of salad and the chilli sauce was the perfect heat. I'll definitely be returning!

Tried it twice, both times the meat has been stone cold and very dry. Won't be going a third time.

My husband had food from this place and I would eat it was fit for bin,chips dried up and sausage was mangled

I decided to go for the four pieces of chicken and chips. Two pieces of the chicken were so dry that having sauce couldn't save them and one piece was undercooked in the middle. The last piece was half the bird it came from, rib cage and all. The chips were mostly fine.

Do not bother. Just got home with our order. 3 pieces of chicken which is drier than a nuns crutch. A donner kebab with salad and the meat is cold. £13 wasted. Will never go there again

As a regular customer I ordered, food took nearly 2 hours to arrive and was cold when unwrapped. I was told when I ordered next time the order would be replaced. Not the case it seems!…. I’ll order from Plympton Grill in future as never had a problem from there!

Always helpful staff and consistently excellent food. Generous portions of tasty, fillings in all kebabs, usually delivered well within time. Definitely the Best Kebab house in easy reach of home (Plympton). I can't speak for the other food on offer, but the Kebabs are delicious. If you haven't tried it yet, go and do so, it's GOOD!!!

Call up and made an order on Sunday evening at roughly 18:00. We were told it was roughly an hour for delivery which was fine. At 20:00 I tried calling and didn’t get through until 20:20 and was told due to a road closure they were running late but our food was still being freshly cooked and would be with us shortly. Was a little annoyed they hadn’t had let us know but at this point I was starving so gave them the benefit of the doubt. Food arrived shortly after 20:30 and I almost wish it hadn’t. We ordered 2 shish kebabs and 1 chicken burger with spicy spuds. Burger - stone cold and over cooked, inedible.. went in the bin. Both kebabs were cold, only one was a shish kebab, picked at the meat before taking them to join the burger in the bin. This food wasn’t cooked fresh - was clearly left waiting for quite some time, the order was wrong and it was disgusting. Spuds were ok, not spicy but were at least cooked. £25 for substandard food and a 2.5 hour wait. If this is their normal standard I have no idea how they are still in business. Plympton doesn’t have many takeaway/delivery’s and this is one I won’t be ordering from again.

Honestly don’t bother order from here, we orders some chicken, onion rings, spicy potatoes and a kebab. All of it was terrible, dry chicken, soggy onions rings that were a really dark brown ?!? Just not to the normal standard, we have ordered before at it was nicer, but don’t know what happened with our order tonight.

Very disappointing! Last time we ordered from here they completely messed our order up but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered again and after waiting an hour and a half for our food it was all wrong again chicken was not cooked properly, food was cold, customer service was shocking on reporting!!!!! Would not order from her again!

Ordered via recommendation and I honestly have to say it's the best kebab we've ever had! Not heavily greasy like our other experiences and definitely not tight on their portions. Good polite customer service on ordering and an unusual secure payment method, no giving out your bank details as they send a separate secure link for you to pay on once your order is taken and a confirmation email to say thank you when your payment is processed. Delivery was quick, highly recommended!

Started using Ridgeway Grill when first lockdown started and have used at least once a month. Food is delicious, good value and delivery is always to time. Recommended.

Chips, fish were OK, didn't like the garlic sauce put over the kids chicken nuggets and chips, better separate sauce. Now the worse bit.. The chicken, totally dry, bland, and stale, almost like it was from the day before. Disgusting!

was really annoyed that you deliver to my house last night and i told you 3 different times in one night i didn’t order any food and u have the wrong address 😡when the correct people rang you u gave them my address witch is braking the law and then lied and said u came back for it and we had eaten it when in fact after me telling you i didn’t order the food u walked away and left it outside my house 😡

We ordered a mixed kebab of Doner & shish lamb! Doner meat was luke warm & lamb was tough & could not eat, so chewy! Our meal was so disappointing after years of enjoying!! Won’t be back!!!

What I can say....Only onions looks like fresh. Rest food was undercooked and when I phoned for complain customer service was rude and he said to me go to kfc if you don't like food from my shop. Well done Ridgeway grill!!!

I Phoned in for a large order and got put on hold for 4 minutes! The man behind the phone then picked the phone up and carried on talking to his colleagues. Then a female friend rang up for the same man to say he couldn’t understand her!! Awful customer service! I shall be using a different kebab shop from now on.

Food was cold It was over 1 hour late Staff were rude No one answered the phone Not even my dog would touch it ..... And it’s gone down hill !!!!!!

Ok so granted it's a Friday night, busiest night for a takeaway, but. We ordered our food and after two and a half hours we went to bed hungry. The delivery driver (who was also the owner of the shop) kept calling and asking for directions, the shop called us after an hour and said they were replacing the order and sending it fresh. They sent the same guy to deliver it who had to keep calling to ask where to go. I don't know what annoyed my husband more, the fact arsenal were losing to man u, and every time the guy rang him man u scored or the fact he was watching a losing match on an empty stomach. So at 21:45 when we finally had a knock at the door, my husband refused to answer. Such a long wait for food you know has been festering in a bag and will no longer be even luke warm. Time to find another takeaway, and time for the owner to invest in a sat nav

I've been using this takeaway roughly twice a month for a couple years, I've never had a bad meal, they serve the tastiest fried chicken I can find, and the kebab meat and chips is awesome. Staff are always friendly

Burger, chips, onion rings and spicy spuds were great. Fast delivery and great service. Very impressed and definitely would recommend. Looking forward to the next takeaway already. 5 star all the way.

We've had take out from here a few times now and mostly is pretty good. The kebabs are great, as is the spuds. Personally I was disappointed with the burgers but then I also don't like McDonald's so what do I know there... Typically priced for what you get!

First we ordered delivery, it was almost an hour late. We both had the shish kebab, mine was the lamb, more like gristle. It was cold and discusting, very cheap cuts of chewy meat and the pitta was dry, stale and fell apart. The chicken was not much better. Not very nice, would not buy from there again.

Staff here are always friendly (they need medals for the amount of drunken muppets they have to put up with) - The spicy spuds and kebabs are always delicious and very generous portions.

The first time I went to this place was when my favourite places had closed during the hour. I required my dinner and thought ordering a simple cod and chips from this place would be easy. Unfortunately, my shoes would stick to the floor, I'm sure the owners had placed glue on the floor in an effort to steal my shoes. When I got to the till and ordered my dinner, I got a half-cooked or "fried" cod piece and some lame prepared chips. It was the most and hugest disappointing dinner I've ever spent and had. Whenever I walk past this place I cannot help but sign in disbelief that it is still in business. Perhaps, maybe, it's made some humane improvements. Date: 15/12/2016; I visited this place on the shortest notices and asked them for 4 pieces of chicken and chips. I was surprised that they actually were decent to consume. The chicken was crispy, the meat was tender, the chips were not overcooked or undercooked either. I think, I might visit this place more often if they keep up this good quality.

We have been assessing the consistency of this little place for a few months now. Home delivery in all but one case has been delivered earlier than the estimated time, the food was always hot, copious and of excellent quality. Yes, it's just another takeaway, but if you like a really nice chicken shish kebab, it's the place to go. We have tasted all but the Doner Kebab, which we don't like anywhere, and can honestly say that we have not been disappointed. Neither would you be! We cannot speak for the burgers, fish & Chips etc. etc. but for kebabs,... Spot on!

Established small well used chip shop on the Ridgeway half way between the two main bigger pubs, open from late afternoon til late evening daily. Reasonable portions and average to competitive prices.

just had a delivery , they totally cocked it up ,although explicit instructions were given on ordering on line , which was also on confirmation email . they can come and collect it and see if they would even feed it to animals ,it is the most soggiest discusting order ever . they put pitta bread in the bottom of the tray , then meat ,or should I say scraps of meat , then put salad on top , then poured garlic mayo over it . uneatable slosh. my order was for donner/chicken meat , with garlic mayo , salad to be placed separate dish , usually with pitta bread on top . Have asked that they come and collect it and refund money
