Visited after seeing the cafe on The Hotel Inspector as we were in Bath for a few days. Whist the trattoria is in the middle of beautiful countryside the access roads were good as was parking. We both ordered the porchetta and it was absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend. Michelle and Mimmo are wonderful friendly hosts delivering a great service with amazing food, we will visit again!

After seeing the recent Hotel Inspector programme, and after seeing the delicious looking Porchetta panino on offer we just had to try one. It certainly didn’t disappoint, it really was absolutely delicious. A small cosy cafe tucked away amongst stables housing a large amount of horses it was well worth a visit. We certainly will be returning and may even have a box of pork to take home for our Sunday lunch as it was good!! The home made paste looks great too…maybe next time😉.

This morning, my companions and I had the pleasure of visiting Rider's Rest Cafe and Trattoria for the first time, completely unaware of its existence until we stumbled upon it after watching a TV program. Nestled in a picturesque old village near Bath, the cafe exudes traditional charm and is a perfect retreat for cyclists, joggers, families on a leisurely drive, or those simply exploring the quaint village landscape on foot. Upon entering, we were greeted by a small yet cozy coffee shop with ample seating for guests. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere was palpable, thanks to the passionate owners who clearly take pride in their establishment. It felt like stepping into a community hub where everyone was engaged in lively conversations, instantly making us feel like old friends or cherished members of the community. The food surpassed our expectations, with each dish being incredibly delicious and thoughtfully prepared. And as a coffee enthusiast, I was delighted to find that their coffee was among the best I've had recently, adding to the overall delightful experience. Without a doubt, Rider's Rest Cafe and Trattoria has left a lasting impression on us, and we are eager to return. It's a place that truly stands out in every aspect, from its charming location to its warm and inviting ambiance, making it a special destination worth revisiting time and again.

A fantastic cafe with the most delicious food and such lovely owners. Homemade meatballs are amazing, cakes and coffee excellent. Have never had a bad experience here. Worth driving just a few miles out of Bath for an enjoyable breakfast or lunch. And they are happy to allow us to bring our dog!

We use this cafe regularly when cycling in our group. Michelle and Mimo are great hosts serving the best coffee in very large cups. Always giving us a warm welcome so we often end up staying far longer than planned. Popped back with the family for lunch a few times and the Porchetta is to die for, melts in the mouth. Thoroughly recommend this cafe with the two hardworking hosts. Love our visits, perfect venue for coffee, cake and lunch, give it a go!

I totally agree with all the previous reviews. Really friendly people and a great stop for coffee and food on the Two Tunnels cycle route from Bath. There's also some horses to say hello to as well!

The restaurant is located a few miles outside of Bath, still within walkable distance. After running along the Two Tunnels Way from Bath to Midford I had an excellent breakfast in this place for a reasonable price.
