It's Bath's best Italian deli and cafe for all things Italian. Italian food lovers must shop here. There is a great selection of cheese, meats, and sausages as well as I house baked bread and pizza. It's delicious! The team here are so helpful and kind.

As an italian, they are consistently smashing it here. the sandwhiches are fantastic and the staff are lovely. 5 stars.

I asked what they recommended and went with the number 3 which came with mortadella, pesto, burrata etc. It was delicious and I wish we had more places like this in Brighton.

New owners in 2024 are two friendly Italians who make astoundingly good food. Worth a trip up walcot street from the city centre for sure.

A very nice Italian deli on the edge of the centre of Bath. They do amazing freshly baked, handmade pizzas, just the way you like it, all kinds of Italian products and fresh cheeses and meats. Take your time to browse through the shop, have a chat with the owners, buy some very good food and sit outside with good coffee and a cannoli. To me it's one of my favourite places in town!

Really lovely little deli! The staff are super friendly, there's a huge amount to choose from, and it's open late so you can pop in after work.

Amazing sourdough ham and sun dried tomato sandwich would highly recommend #2 on the sourdough menu (they even had lactose free Mozzarella!!) The Strawberry Sorbet is imported straight from Italy and is high quality. It is still cheap imo and incredible!!

Such a lovely little deli, with great food and and amazing service! I had a delicious sourdough sandwich and the nicest ice cream. The staff were so friendly and you could tell they genuinely wanted to chat and give a good service, they also took the time to give help/advice on certain products. Honestly I’m so glad I found this place and can’t wait to go back!

Best. Sandwich. Ever. Really nice friendly staff who really care about the quality of their food. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Later edit - just stopped in to get breakfast on the road for a family trip to the beach. The guys freshly prepared the most amazing cornetti for us with Nutella and pistachio fillings, peach juice and Bath’s best espresso. Reminded us of the amazing food during family holidays to Italy. Thanks chaps :)

Found this place by accident on the way to our hotel and nipped in to buy sandwiches. These were better than anything we had in Florence last year at world-famous sandwich shops, delicious home made bread and a large quantity of high quality fillings. Not cheap but worth every penny. We had pop in again the next day on our way back to the car!

Wonderful owners, not only authentic sourdough sandwiches, but lots of authentic Italian pasta and pastries, will be a regular moving forward for sure

The new menu and owners are fantastic. We got the porchetta focaccia and it was closest sandwich we’ve had to the ones we ate in Rome. Alex was lovely, super friendly and helpful and gave good product advice. Definitely will be coming back to try out the rest of the menu !

I understand the current owners have only recently taken over the business and they are doing a super job. Absolutely lovely sandwiches and coffee (only £2!). They have the most wonderful homemade bread for their sandwiches. I strongly recommend the one with mortadella, burrata, pesto, tomato and pistachio - such a generous size and truly delicious. Really lovely friendly staff too.

This place is a true gem. Best sandwiches I have had in the UK! Their menu changed a bit recently and now they’ve got even better selection. We had mortadella, burrata and pistachio pesto sourdough sandwich last time and it was sooo good. Great atmosphere and super welcoming staff passionate about good food and service. 10/10.

As an Italian that has moved to England 8 years ago it feels amazing to have the chance to go into a deli Italian shop like Avellinos, it really make me feel like at home 😁 great Italian food selection, cured meats and cheese. You have to try the homemade bread sandwich they are lush 🤩 vegetarian,vegan and gluten free options available as well.

Cristian is great. He really is. Good jolly vibes and happiness exude him. His shop is his child and he cares for his customers. Food is always good, my bf loves the all meat panini and i like ciabatta sandwiches. But mostly I go for shopping. Coming from Italy somethings are better from the mother lamd: oil, vinegar, olives, biscuits... Sausages. He has sometimes pesto and used to have tiramisù. Not sure what happened He has seasonal goods like Easter eggs and panettone. He's a good sport when I hound him about certain things as I miss the garlic... Hahaha. It's a good place to go. Just remember not to spin around as you will knock stuff over.

Must visit for all. Students, £2 coffee in Bath, the locals know about this place and anyone visiting bath should stop by if you’re feeling hungry. Everything from the selection to the prices and the quality. One of the best black americanos I’ve had, it was so smooth I had to check if milk accidentally go put in there.

Super fun in Avellinos! Ideal for buying tons of biscuits from Mulino Bianco and others, also cheeses, sausages, Cantuccini etc. I love how piled to the rafters the place is! Its brilliant fun!

If it’s not here you don’t need it. Very helpful staff and the walls are pilled high with everything you’d need from Italy. Hit them up for amazing coffee beans, or proper tinned (whole) tomatoes, or decent dried pasta, or authentic sausages, or mozzarella that actually has some flavour and texture. Bellissimo.

What an absolute gem! I could've spent a fortune in there with the amount of groceries this shop had, and to top it off the latte was beautiful. It felt like I'd stepped back into Rome for a bit and the gentleman in there was so lovely.

I go to Avellino's every day and I'm never disappointed. I go for the authentic produce which you don't find in our supermarkets and the relaxed friendly atmosphere. It really feels like being back in Italy. I highly recommend.

An absolute gem. Authentic, high quality product with great service and local feel. I was a first time visitor today and will return many times. The joy begins as soon as you enter but doesn’t maximise until your pallet recognises what it really wanted - a transport to Italy. This place is as real as it gets. Molto bene!

They sometimes say that men think about the Roman Empire more than once a day - This is my Roman Empire. Avellino’s may just be the best place to visit in Bath. One of the most wonderfully friendly shopkeepers I’ve ever met, who serves delicious food at a price that is beyond reasonable. The panne e mortadella is the closest thing to biblical Ambrosia I’ve ever eaten. The sheer amount of produce inside should make any Italophiles’ heart sing and you can go in here countless times and discover something new and delicious every time. Long may it reign! 🇮🇹

The best shop and the best Italian guy in Bath.

This place is like Ariel’s treasure trove of Italian food goods. On top of that, the owner seems like a great guy; he’s very friendly, funny, and accommodating. I recommend doing the Avellino lunch for 2, which gives you any 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, mixed olives, and 4 pastries. Get toasted ciabatta for those sandwiches, get one of each cannoli for the pastries (they’re all good), and get 2 cold sandwiches for the next day. Eat the hot sandwiches, pastries, and half the olives for dinner, then take the rest of the olives and the cold sandwiches on a hike on the Bath Skyline trail the next day. Words can’t express how delicious that sandwich tasted overlooking Bath after 6.5mi.

The pistachio ice cream is delicious and , together with the chocolate & hazelnut cannoli , is a cheap and easy dessert and a good way of advertising this brilliant little shop to your dinner guests . Christian is a marvel . Always friendly , cheerful and helpful regardless of how busy he is . Great for foodie Xmas gifts too .

What a fantastic place this is. I come to Bath on business every couple of months and couldn’t do without a trip to this Aladdin’s cave of a deli/cafe/shop. Christian is always super friendly and his food is delicious!

Best sandwiches around. Had a fantastic toasted ciabatta with mozzarella, tomato, peppers and seriously tasty pesto. The meal deal was great value with a coffee and a truly tasty pastry. Also picked up some funky pasta wish I could have carried more home. A real gem.

This is the best shop in Bath for Italian food products. My partner and I shop here regularly - you can find authentic Italian products at a good price. The range is huge; from cured meats, to fresh cheeses, to Italian eggs - Avellinos has it all! The owner Christian is always super friendly and helpful! :)

Sells great selection of Pasta's that you can't get at the supermarkets...if you love delicious food , welcoming host, and charming atmosphere go now...

Avellinos is amazing! Genuinely the best ciabattas I've ever tasted, and the selection of Italian treats on offer are just as good. My favourite lunchtime treat!

A great deli and Cafe that makes you feel like you are visiting a friend's house. We had delicious paninis with some lentil soup. The deli provides a huge range of Italian pasta, oils, cheese, olives, or biscotti. We bought some sliced salami and mixed olives, which cost less than a fiver for a huge amount! We will definitely be back

Authentic atmosphere. Very bijou. Excellent foodstuffs to eat (meal deal £5 for panini with mozzarella, fennel seed salami, mushrooms, tomatoes plus a coffee and bag of quality crisps) and to buy for home. Chris makes good coffee and is very welcoming.

Así que le había prometido llevarla y dejarla probar un panini por sí misma.Pedimos una oferta de comida: un panini frío con ensalada o caliente con un poco de queso y una selección de tomate, aceitunas o champiñones. Para esto, usted puede tomar un café de su elección, más la opción de una bolsa grande de papas fritas, una barra de chocolate grande o una pastelería. Elegimos un panini caliente con salami y jamón italiano con queso y tomate (para mi pareja) y champiñones para mí. Una taza de café cada uno se disfrutó con una pasta. Todo esto estaba recién preparado para ordenar, estaba delicioso y en 5 cada uno una verdadera ganga.Mi recomendación fue una tormenta y ambos estuvimos de acuerdo en que valió la pena la visita y que no será la última.

Whilst in beautiful Bath, in a not-so-beautiful traffic jam, and in need of a quick and tasty bite I parked-up and visited this place that I have passed many times. The whole place shouts Italian - it’s a wonderfully messy place with food products on shelves, in cabinets, and on tables (plus piles and stacks on the windows sill, floor and even down the middle of some of the dining tables). Tins, bottles, and packets, fresh salamis, fresh cheese and bread (panini, ciabatta). They do great coffee, hot or cold take-out, and also have a few tables to sit and eat inside or outside. I decided to sit and eat inside as the early summer weather was typically cold. I enjoyed a simple meatball ciabatta, which was enough for me, and it was very tasty. I will be calling in again and I will take my partner with me as she loves Italian food too! Bellissimo!

Afortunadamente nos encontramos con este local. Es principalmente una tienda de delicatessen con una gran variedad de interesantes alimentos italianos, todos amontonados. Hay dos o tres mesas donde disfrutamos de dos cafés en oferta especial por el precio de ganga de 3. 00.Definitivamente vale la pena mirar si estás en la zona.
