Ride Coffee House in Aberdeenshire

This is one of best coffee shops I have known. It's such a shame that it's taken me 72 years to discover it. Great coffee and delicious food. The bacon rolls are gigantic.

A favourite place for a coffee when in Banchory. Not disappointed this time. Friendly welcome lots of choice . Lovely coffee and cake.

This is the second time we've been here. It's a lovely clean coffee house with lovely food to offer. Last time I had the venison burger which came with a pasta salad. My husband I think had a brie burger again with the pasta salad. Both burgers were so tasty as was the pasta. Today, the venison burger was still on offer but I spied stovies with beetroot and oatcakes. Proper. My husband had the chicken fajita, cheese and pesto ciabatta. I tasted the ciabatta. Lovely and then you got the taste of pesto coming through. Also with a salad and beetroot. My stovies were so tasty and the beetroot was lovely as well. Served with a glass of milk. So Scottish!! We were in search of a dog friendly place for Saturday lunch… our first time and loved it! 2 toasted sandwiches and a sausage nibble for Nellie (our 4 month old cockapoo)…Gillian great to see you thank you for making our first time so great!

What a super breakfast dining experience we had at Ride Cafe. Not only was the food great ; freshly prepared, nicely presented and just the right amount, but the service was excellent. We were a group of seven and our every request (sauce on the side!) was accommodated with a big smile. Efficient, friendly and tasty. What more do you need! Go try it.

Friendly, helpful staff who accommodated a large group of us with no dramas. Great coffee, fabulous breakfast- can highly recommend the californian eggs! Bonus of treating myself to some new socks on the way out! Highly recommend.

Usually enjoy the food and service at Ride (except for the once when a server held my cup by putting their thumb on the rim and their fingers underneath, but ho hum!!) However yesterday lunchtime, when they were admittedly very busy, my burger was definitely not quite right. I suspect it, or the bacon, or both, had been cooked in the microwave and maybe just popped on the griddle to make the bacon look fried, the burger hadn't been browned. I was disappointed, as its usually great, and we had an important appointment to get to, so couldn't hang around to discuss I'll stick to the food i know in future

Lovely café, clean and comfortable. Great pancakes and rolls, good coffee and smoothies too. Tasty looking slices and cakes - but didn't get to sample. Very friendly staff and prompt service!

Stopped here whilst cycling the Deeside Way and was really looking forward to it. It didn't disappoint. Friendly, helpful staff, delicious coffee , yummy cheese scone and the carrot cake was amazing too. Lots of space for parking the bikes which always makes me happy. Highly recommend it !

Brilliant wee cafe- the staff are both cheerful & helpful. The carrot cake scores 10/10 - and I have had a lot of carrot cakes over the years , They serve excellent coffees & light lunches. There’s good seating for groups,couples, and individuals both outside and in.

I went with a friend, whose sister had recommended it. Ride is unassuming from the outside, and a little gem in the inside. Tasty soup with a choice of bread or oatcakes, then a delicious barley and leek ‘sausage’ roll, with a lovely side salad. All delicious. They have a fantastic range of home bakes too. Bright and airy with a great ambience.

Popped into ride this morning for a take away Bacon and Egg roll some cakes and coffee. They do the best rolls Ever! The staff are so so lovely and was chatting to the girls whilst I waited for my things to be ready. My Vanilla Chai latte was amazing thanks olivia.

I visited after reading all the great reviews.The weather was nice, so we chose to sit outside. Too close to a busy road for me. The traffic noise meant conversation was difficult, but hey, that was our mistake.Ordered two bacon and egg rolls. We both found the bacon to be lacking taste and there was quite a bit of fat on it too.I’m saddened to be writing a less positive review than others, but it’s an honest one.

Another excellent visit with my son and son- in -law ( wheelchair bound but not disabled to us). Staff were first class and their service was perfect. Popped in here when walking along the Deeside Way. Very friendly staff, good selection of food. The place is immaculate. They are dog friendly. The bacon rolls were loaded with bacon and well worth the money. All in all a very good experience and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Been a few times of late, so this is a general review. Food is really, really good as is the service. The only thing that lets Ride down is the inconsistency of the coffee. Sometimes the milk is the right temperature meaning the coffee tastes good, sometimes its too hot, ruining the taste and texture, particularly as you reach the end of the cup. Would be even better if the coffee was consistently good, regardless of who was on the machine as it seems to be this that's the issue.

Very friendly and accommodating to our two families and a dog. Great coffee and food. Sausage rolls excellent. Excellent team on duty.

My family visited two days ago while cycling on the Deeside Way, and it was so good that we went back again the next day! Lots of choices, all homemade- we tried breakfast rolls, veggie pastries, toasties etc and they were all really good- big portions, amazing quality. Add to that the incredible cakes! Lots of choices for all, including vegan, veggie and gluten free. On top of all that, the service was very warm and friendly and the surroundings were modern and light, with additionally lots of outdoor space. Great bike parking, dog friendly. What more could you want? Highly recommended.

Popped in today with Lexi (my miniature Schnauzer) for coffee and cake after a long walk. Lots of people sitting outside in the sun so had he inside to ourselves! Quality of coffee and cake first class, and staff were really chatty and friendly! Dog friendly is an understatement, Lexi was spoiled rotten with pats and treats. This is a gem of a cafe. The coffee is excellent, as is the food (notably the cake). The portions are generous too and the staff welcoming and friendly. It's clearly very popular and for good reason. Highly recommended.

Had several take aways from Ride over lockdown but today was first time sitting inside. Lovely clean cafe with friendly atmosphere. Lunch and coffee were excellent. Will definitely visit again.

Service with a smile (Natalie) always happy and ready to chat even when busy, the lad that served me was just as pleasent, my breakfast roll (Bacon, Sausage & Blackpudding) was hot and quickley served along with a great Flat White Coffee. Been a customer since they opened, well done to Julia and the team for a succesful and pleasent place to eat/drink. All the restrictions in place and a very clean and safe place to visit.

Went in today 18/5/21 with my son and Tilly my lab for a bite to eat. Staff uber friendly. We are inside as weather not good. Lovely bright interior and the food was amazing. Both of us had a lovely toasted ciabatta with ham brie and gooseberry chutney, devine and salad. Yes we were feeling piggy and had a bowl of lovely lentil soup. I had. a latte to finish and could not fault one thing. Highly recommend a visit out there to Banchory you wont be disappointed.

During the Josh Quigley Guinness World Record attempt to cycle 2177 miles or more in Deeside, Ride Coffee House became the Support team's unofficial HQ !! They were extremely welcoming, very helpful in every aspect and their Pulled Pork & Apple Sausage Rolls were very much appreciated by a hungry long distance cyclist! Great Coffee, Cakes and light lunch items too. I will certainly be deviating my route towards Ride Café in the future should I be in the area again!

VISITING EVERY DAY BETWEEN 26TH APRIL - 3RD MAY 2021 Me and my team are part of a project with Josh Quigley going for a world record and use this cafe as the usual spot to meet up for logistical reasons.The whole team is from Scotland but for myself from England I have to say the Ride Coffee Cafe is one of the best I've ever been too. I've been to a fair few in my time on business in England as well as other countries however the thing that makes this cafe stand out is the customer service.You walk into the cafe and you're greeted by two lovely and attractive ladies who have always aimed to please with our orders. I've had great coffee here and something called the "Super Jumbo Roll" which was so clean and fresh. It was meaty and really helped my day as we progressed into this project.We have great banter and they are positioned extremely well in Banchory you literally cannot miss them. Ride is fantastic, staff are genuine, friendly and hard working, coffee and food are just delicious, and the cafe is clean bright and spacious. A wee shop area for treats too! Have also picked up takeaway, as it’s a great distance from the play park, for picking up coffee and cake!

Very friendly (and that includes dogs), clean and spacious (Covid secure) place.I visited with my mum with the intention of grabbing a coffee, and we ended up having lunch. All inside tables were in use when we arrived, however the staff were very helpful and within a few minutes informed us that we'd get the next but one free table, and directed to view the small but varied menu. 2 minutes later we were sat at our table in front of a lovely warm log burner with a view of the hills and ordering a broccoli quiche and a venison burger.Skinny cappuccinos arrived soon after ordering and our food followed soon afterwards. I'm a coffee snob, and Ride's coffees are lovely - worth grabbing anytime I'm passing. Our food was accompanied with good quality tasty side salad and dressing, cous cous, a small amount of pesto pasta and some potato crisps. Both plates were cleared needless to say!I don't often eat meat these days, but I do enjoy the occasional burger treat. Having recently ventured out to a well established venue during Aberdeen Restaurant week and having an extremely disappointing venison burger with possibly the cheapest bun on the planet, coupled with a couple of leaves of iceberg lettuce (think of the old Wimpy days!), I am so glad I ordered Ride's venison burger - it couldn't have been more of a polar opposite.Definitely one of the best I've tasted, with high quality ingredients, a lovely light brioche bun, etc. I'm salivating at the thought of it as I write this!Highly recommend this place, it's worth travelling from Aberdeen, and is going to be a regular haunt for me anytime I'm on Deeside.Keep up the great work, guys and girls!

We have been to Ride several times, initially as a stop off cycling on the Deeside way and more recently with our collie dog. Its very dog friendly , with water and a fuss and a treat if he behaves. He knows when we get close and likes the cafe as much as we do. The coffee and food are great and the atmosphere is really relaxed. We’re vegetarian but there’s never a problem finding something original and tasty. Today we were with friends and they enthused about the meat options too. I hesitated to give too good a review in case we can’t get a table next time but the cafe deserves all of the plaudits it gets.

We were hungry after climbing Hill of Fare, our lunch of chicken soup (so good!!) with a cheesy scone and a black pudding sausage roll hit the spot and we still had room for great cake and coffee. The staff were all lovely and the place was immaculate

We visited on 31st October 2020 for coffee and scones. The staff where really welcoming and friendly. The cafe are definitely taking Covid seriously and it is obvious that they have put in a lot of procedures to keep their customers safe. Tables and chairs where being thoroughly cleaned after customers left. I locked my keys in my car and had to call out a breakdown company. The cafe let me and my wife sit in the warm for nearly 3 hours nursing one pot of tea. Nothing was too much trouble and we where made to feel very welcome. We plan to go back for lunch soon as the food looked amazing. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us . I nearly forgot to mention, I am pretty fussy when it comes to coffee, but have to say the cafe served up one of the best coffee's I've ever had.

Just popped in for lunch today and were able to enjoy a delicious lunch. The staff explained the Covid measures and found a table for us. We had the soup and scone combo -oh my the soup! and our Son had his dream of bacon and pancakes. The ladies looked after us so well and we enjoyed the interaction with our Son - thanks guys!

I regularly visit Ride Coffee House for a post-cycle feed and coffee. The staff are always welcoming and the food and hot drinks are brilliant. I'm yet to try any, but the home bakes look excellent (my friends can testify they are delicious). Would recommend anyone to stop by for a bite to eat and coffee if you are in the area.

The staff and home baking make this place an absolute must for an after biking refuel. Deluxe hot chocolates are an essential order!

Really enjoyable cafe for lunch, popular with cyclists and tourists. Food was delicious with generous portions from a reasonably varied menu. Booking ahead was not possible, so may be disappointed as very popular, but worth visiting and we will return when in the area. Clean place, Covid friendly and pleasant, friendly staff provided excellent service with a smile.

Went for lunch recently, was a lovely waitress who served us, didn’t feel rushed and felt very comfortable given current COVID situ. Great selection on the menu and the food was delicious! There was also so many fine pieces it was too hard to choose, ended up taking a box away with me!

The food and coffee is absolutely incredible! But what really stood out to me was the service I received. The staff were so polite and conscious of social distancing measures. Despite wearing a mask, I knew I was receiving service with a smile. All the staff were happy and created a warm and welcoming environment. I cannot compliment the staff enough; I was served by a young blonde girl (didn't catch her name) who was exceptional. Keep up the service! I will be back!

Stopped off recently while on a trip to Banchory with the dogs for some breakfast. Super friendly staff and great with the dogs. Had an egg roll and black pudding roll while the wife had a sausage on a roll. Amazing quality food eggs were still super hot in the roll which makes a huge change from the usual. Coffee was also superb while definitely be popping in when back in the area.
