Cleanliness needed worked on really not a lot of choices on the menu food was alright nothing exhilarating but there is a scope to make something of the place staff were very helpful only wasnt impressed by their appearance definitely there uniform could do with a good wash

We went as a family just before Christmas and had a wonderful time.

This is the second time I have reviewed this place and it did not disappoint. Absolutely love it here, the high-end quirkiness, the laid back atmosphere, the decor is beautiful (see previous photos) and the food is just scrumptious. This time I took my other half and we had a Deli sharing platter. I could gush about almost every item on that board. The bread, which I was told was baked fresh on the premises, was to die for. Best Mocha I have had in a long time that I didn't make myself. Even my other half liked his coffee and he is more fussy over coffee than I am. Can not fault this place. Yes it might have been a bit more expensive than some cafes but the food and service is absolutely worth it. We will most definitely be back!!

Went for some food after visiting the spa. Again very nice and friendly staff. Decent prices, plenty of food 🍱 and delicious 😋. Nice view from the 1st floor, relaxing and calming atmosphere. Absolutely will recommend the place and visit again.

Lovely afternoon drinks in the sunshine. Staff were very accommodating when we asked to move tables into the shade. We enjoyed a portion of the nachos to share.

Lovely food. Struggled to keep up with demand so the food took far too long to arrive. Kitchen staff / facilities? Certainly did not appear to be a front of house problem. However, would definitely recommend if you have the time.

Took my mum today for afternoon tea as a treat for her 86th birthday. Absolutely beautiful, the staff were all very attentive, friendly and welcoming. The selection of sandwiches, warm pastries, scones and cake selection were all beautiful. The terrace had plenty of space which was great for mum being in a wheelchair and the views are very picturesque. I will definitely recommend to anyone...Thank you to the lovely staff.

Came here today for lunch .. Fantastic venue on a sunny day ,with the roof terrace. Limited food selection, however food was great. Very exclusive and relaxed environment. Staff are very professional and polite. Great place drinks and a bite to eat.

Small lunch menu available, but prices were reasonable compared to what is offered at other spar resorts. Coffee was very good and I would recommend any of the non-alcoholic coolers.

Fantastic place. Great choice, friendly armosphere.

Absolutely delicious selection of cocktails on a 2 for 1 offer on Thursday nights from 5-8pm currently. Accompanied by the deli platter as none of us had eaten beforehand, which included a variety of bread, cheese, chutney, olives, crisps, quiche and sausage rolls, which was also very good. Staff were very attentive.

Lovely spa treatment followed by further relaxing on the terrasse with a cup of coffee. Had the terrasse all to myself as it was mid morning only. Very comfortable seating and view on to lawn and mature trees.

We had afternoon tea for 3. Zeff and Alex were very attentive and we were well looked after. The tea itself was stunning. Lovely 3 tiered plates full of goodies. Bottom plates were savoury. Fantastic quiche. Fresh sandwiches. A good choice. Cakes on the top plate were just the right size. Tea was served in pots. We sat by the window and admire the autumnal changes outside. Beautiful location. Plentiful parking. Fully recommend afternoon tea.

One of Carlisle's finest restaurants. Picturesque setting and environment serving quality food. Staff were attentative all at a reasonable price.

My wife booked months in advance for my 60th birthday on Saturday. We were put on this big heavy table with metal legs that proved difficult to get in and out of. We weren’t seated in the terrace as we were led to believe that’s where we would be seated. We waited ages for our main course told by the waitress this was due to it being busy. The table next to us got served in 15 mins and there was more of them. We made the maitre d aware of how unhappy we were with the service and seating. My birthday was well and truly spoiled. We won’t be back. If you can’t serve the covers you have taken bookings for then reduce your bookings.

Great food and service. Possibly the best in Carlisle. Portions aren't big but food is an art over there. Highly recommend that one. Worth to try venison.

Returned a year on from our first visit. Service first class, friendly but not intrusive. Excellent food and young diners catered for. Easy parking. Good value imho.

Astounding place, great food, attentive staff, great value, a real incredible find. The maitre d was so knowledgeable about the wines and which compliments the food it was better than being in a top London restaurant. The head chef even came out to see us. What incredible service. Would highly recommend and I will be returning and not just for the food, the whole experience is top class!!

Very modern and stylish decor. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. You can have the à la carte menu or the Taster menu with pairing wines. The food was awesome and so was the wine and beer. The view is fields and trees all round despite being in Carlisle and very quiet. Its only a 5 to 10 minute taxi ride from the city centre (approx £5) and the staff are more than welcome to book you a taxi. Very nice restaurant.

Very posh and just off the beaten track.

Had a great time for my Half Spa Day, however i do feel like its a long time without being offered any drinks. I feel there needs to be a way to order other refreshments while in the spa. I couldn't work the shower and the only way to get someone is to walk back into reception. Being offered some of the items that are used during my time in the spa would also be great as i would have made a purchase.

Not bad actually. Really nice staff and as far as the food is concerned, I can't complain. It won't rock your socks off but they do a nice meal at a good price. Would recommend the prawns followed by the steak on the lunchtime menu.

The food was absolutely delicious and beautifullly presented. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Only downside on our day was that they were a chef down due to ilness and so service was slow. But manager and chef made great efforts to explain and apologise and offered us a comimentary desert/drink to make up for our wait. Will definitely be back soon.

Had the Christmas special ' comfort and joy'. The food was so good I think I'll either sleep all afternoon in the spa or sink to the bottom of the pool! 😊

Booked as a group of 6 for afternoon tea. Lovely room, setting and ambiance but poor service and mixed quality of food. Overcharged on the bill. This was addressed by the manager when challenged but overall very disappointed.

Wow, what a place. Amazing building, beautiful room and great atmosphere. Went with some friends and we all had the tasting menu with the wine pairing (a must). The food and presentation was superb and the wine was excellent and generously served by the great staff throughout the meal. Would highly recommend

A delightful dining experience in all regards. We had the taster menu, and the food was excellent. A really good mix of classic and intersting flavour combinations and well executed. The pleasant open air setting is picturesque and overlooks woodland and rickerby park. Finally the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout. All round a thoroughly delightful restaurant.

High end cuisine with very friendly and attentive staff. It's big plates with small portions as you often get with high end cuisine but as long as you aren't expecting a plateful you'll be happy with it. Great ambience and not too expensive either. Amazing toilets too which some places often forget about, not here though!
