Great fun! Came here for birthday cocktails and a dance and it didn’t disappoint. The prohibition style suits this basement bar and it’s done very tastefully. The cocktails are delicious & strong, staff fast & efficient and the live swing band just added that touch of magic ✨

Sunday 5pm.no beef or lamb roast.waitress never informed us beforehand.

Enjoyed some delicious drinks during happy hour. Our favorites were the Yellow Cab and the Hampton Court Cream Tea. A wonderful spot to stop in for a drink if you're in Richmond.

Well this is a big improvement on the previous incarnation for this venue. Really friendly and helpful staff, HUGE cocktail menu and some very tasty food. Just one recommendation... Keep the music volume very low. 1920's swing is not to everyone's taste 😁

This is quite new restaurant in the heart of Richmond. It is modelled on a speakeasy and has a lovely atmosphere. Apparently on Friday and Saturday they have live jazz too. The food was so delicious. I thoroughly recommend the pastrami sandwich but I will definitely be trying other dishes too. They have a Sunday lunch menu and, looking at the other tables that ordered it was quite substantial and appetising. We will definitely be returning

Not the craft beer temple that some people suggested. But I like the one I tried.. Nothing strong in stock though. Left too early due to a party booked where I choose to sit.. Nonetheless staff did their best to accommodate my hipster self!

Well well well what an absolute gem of a find here in Richmond, the vibe the venue is unreal The quality of drinks the food was first class. Customer service was unreal Richmond you are so lucky

Came across this place by chance and the owner/manager was very welcoming,good ambience,first impression,Food and drinks were delicious although not healthy but just what we fancied,Pizza knocks the socks off any competition,only bad point was the service,the lady who bought our bill and took our order was just not in line with the place,she was just quite dismissive and not welcoming almost like she didn’t want to be there,this place has the potential to do so well but the service needs to be in line with the ambience and atmosphere of the place almost like the scene from pulp fiction.

Service was really slow. We were left waiting for ages in between drinks. We were going to stay all evening but we had to leave. Very disappointed. Food was ok the overall experience was poor

Very good place, with a wonderful ambience, good music, the light is wonderful. We went looking for a dessert and drinks, and was so tasty and the service was beautiful, we sat in at the bar and Erik, the barman was so kind with us, and helped us choosing the drinks and they were delicious. We’ll certainly come back soon.

Very disappointing food and the lighting feels like you’re in a hospital. No background music and they had a replay snooker game on. The mocktail was really nice and well presented.

I tried the Sunday roast for the first time at this restaurant, and I was blown away by how much I loved it. The place itself is lovely, with a great atmosphere. When I returned to organize a leaving party for a colleague, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my needs, helping with decorations and seating arrangements. The food was absolutely delicious! On Friday nights, there's even live music to enjoy while you dine. It's definitely one of the best gastro pubs in Richmond, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.

Cool underground place. Service was great and the food was delicious. I had the vault burger which was great but upon seeing the ribs I realised my mistake. If I get an opportunity to return, I know what to have. The waiter tripped on a step and sent ketchup flying but he was incredibly apologetic. Slightly amusing that my friend ended up with some ketchup on his nose.

My husband booked this place for Mother's day and We had a lovely time ❤️💐 Service was wonderful and atmosphere also. We enjoyed our starter the most and cocktails were awesome! Thank you ❤️ @silviadeegon

Amazing venue. First time and will def be back. A couple from our group have already booked to go back the following weekend. I had the lamb roast which was a huge portion which I demolished. Wine was flowing and our waiter was a diamond. Service was speedy and efficient and decor was tastefully decorated.

A bit confusing this place. Is it a beer hall? Is it a Middle Eastern restaurant? Is it a pub? Not quite sure. £22 for a juicy chicken with a Middle Eastern vibe with…McCain chips. The atmosphere can be very loud and noisy as everyone is packed next to each other. Good beers and wine though. As a said. Confusing

Pretty mediocre food whilst being fairly expensive- £8 for a pint, £12 for two tiny pieces of bruschetta - fine service and venue but wouldn't bother returning.

tender and delicious roast lamb but only two halves of a potato each? and couldn't believe my eyes to see they charged £8.25 for one bottle of cider.

Met up with friends for Sunday roast. The pub can be missed on the street as it’s in the basement so you need to look out for the sign board. It’s cosy and gives a warm feel. Food was very good. Yorkshire puds we’re large and crispy, roast vegetables cooked just right. The beef was a tad chewy. My friend had the rack of ribs which were very large and tasty. The apple and pear crumble with custard (2 tablespoon) could do with more crumble as it seemed like biscuit crumbs sprinkled on top and needed more custard which they were happy to provide. Service in general is slow.

Nowhere near as good as a traditional pub. Can't comment on food to be fair as we did not eat - only drink.

Non existent service. We came in for a drink and some food around 1pm on a Saturday. Waitress was cold and generally uninterested. The bar man was nice, provided good service and good drinks. We waited around 15 minutes to even have a glimpse of ‘service’ and order some food. The waitress looked over at the two of us several times but decided to tend to a larger table that came in long after us instead. In the end we just opted to walk out and go elsewhere. It’s not hard to provide some decent service, let alone take someone’s order. The only reason this isn’t 1 star is because of the bar staff.

Had my 40th here. Food, staff and drinks were all amazing. Had the most wonderful time. Will be back and would recommend.

Quick google search made me choose the Vault because the reviews were high! I didn’t actually read any! Had I of actually read reviews then we would have been spared an awful experience this evening. First of all, on arrival we were greeted in a very, frosty, unwelcoming manner. The waitress was so miserable, didn’t crack a smile once! She exclaimed that I booked downstairs and that she would seat us upstairs because of our pushchair, this was said with her back turned looking at a computer screen. My 5 year old ordered the kids fish fingers which albeit looked homemade had visible fish skin on which personally didn’t seem child friendly so she refused to eat that and her chips seemed like they were fried in a dirty fryer as they tasted stale. I ordered rosemary chips which tasted the same but with a dash of rosemary sprinkled on top. My son ordered an adult pepperoni pizza which was very oily but he ate most of it none the less. Husband ordered chicken burger which he said was okay. My main was butternut chilli - this was served luke warm and wasn’t pleasant to eat so I had a few spoonfuls and that was enough for me. Waitress did do a check back and I said was ok at the time but I was probably visibly annoyed and I think she picked up on this. I didn’t confront her about my food at the time because I didn’t want to cause a scene in front of my children. We did mention about the chips when the bill arrived and said that we were not happy to pay the service charge that was automatically added to our bill. Lastly, I would not call this place a gastropub, I’ve eaten in many and the food today didn’t come close to any of my experiences else where. Left disappointed but happy to get out of there, ended up getting a food box from whole foods which was 10x nicer. Probably a great hangout for drinks but wouldn’t recommend the food and service was shocking so on that basis we wont be returning.

The atmosphere itself was fun, I really enjoyed the music. My family and I arrived at the restaurant at 12:30 in the afternoon and spent more than an hour waiting for our food. The starters were very good, I ate the Halloumi Cubes, Boneless Chicken, Calamari and the Caesar Salad. I ordered the Deli Pizza which was sadly disappointing, the sauce was too sweet and there wasn’t balance in tastes. My family ordered both the Chicken and Vegetarian Roasts and really enjoyed it, the gravy was excellent balanced, as well as the chicken, whose taste was a bit dry but yummy. The kebab and cod were quite delicious. As much as the restaurant was fun, the service was slow and the waitress seemed impatient. I recommend that you go there if you are prepared to wait for the food for more than an hour.

We had an 8 person 3pm Sunday booking. Informed after arriving that they had run out of potatoes so no roast available. Proceeded to see customers next to us order the roast 🤷 We then ordered of the mains. Food came at 1.5hrs after we ordered, and across the span of 25 minutes so we all ate separately. I had the lamb shank, a skerrick of mash, some kale, and a raw onion (!) Staff could not care less, unapologetic and rude. On the up side they had the common sense not to include service charge. Plenty of nicer places for both food and service in Richmond.

Very disappointing. Had a 3pm Sunday booking and were told there were no roasts. The mains took 1.5 hours to come, and no updates or apologies from the staff. When the food came, it felt unfinished: a leg of lamb with one spoonful of mashed potato, a little boiled kale and a raw onion… The gnocchi was quite nice.

Waited 1hr for food and got this.. raw onion, smudge of mash and a bit of kale with the lamb. The lamb was well cooked but the sides terrible. Considering the wait, was not a good experience.

Handy location and good food. I wasn't drinking so can't comment on the bar offerings but the rack of ribs was lovely. Will return again.

Nice place. We went for Sunday roasts. The quality wasn't great. The chicken should have had a pork & apricot stuffing but it didn't. The restaurant and atmosphere where nice.

Very good place to eat and drink. This was my second visit here. A limited menu but this is good as the options available were all top quality. So difficult to decide what you want to eat and drink. Each time I go there I try something different and I haven't been disappointed yet.

We really enjoyed the nice atmosphere. A compact variety of food with a great quality was very to our liking. After a little while live music got played and it was a nice combination between a restaurant and a bar. Our waiter was very kind and we had a lot of fun with him. A recommendation from our side. Would recommend to reserve more time for getting dinner.

First time here yesterday, nice decor, but for me that was it. The place was cold even for a summers night, and the food was nothing special, not very flavourful. Prices are standard but £9 for a shirley temple was way too much, especially when when they tried to load it with ice, service was good but don’t think we will be going back unfortunately.

Cocktails were lovely and the staff were attentive. My steak was very fatty and not very tasty unfortunately, although it was cooked as requested. There was a TV by our table that the staff kept putting random things on YouTube to show on (brewery tours, psychedelic patterns as two examples) and I'm not sure I got the point of it

We recently held our wedding party at Richmond Vault and we were treated to such a memorable day and night. Liz expertly oversaw the planning of the day and made the whole experience completely stress free. We had exclusive hire of the whole venue and invited around 70 guests. The staff were absolutely fantastic and made it a party to remember. We had very tasty canapes and dinner prepared by the excellent chef at Richmond Vault, Gerald, and our guests were kept very happy with the great selection of wines, craft beers, spirits, and delicious cocktails, served by very friendly and fun staff - Armand, Eric, Zach, Kingsley to name just a few. We can't thank the whole team at Richmond Vault enough for making the occasion so special. This really is a great, unique place in Richmond for parties, but also for regular drinks and meals. I'll be a new regular customer! Thank you RV team :)

Lovely place to spend an evening for a surprise birthday party.

We went there yesterday and the Sunday Roast was an excessive amount of food for an expensive price. Lots of money and food wasted. Not clever . I didn’t know the reason for the refurbishment so I feel bad but it looks worse than before I’m afraid. The diner tables area is not cozy at all. Short staffed and all felt bland, shame, we used to like it

Wonderful food in a nicely designed gastro pub with live music. The Roast Chicken with Mediterranean rice was delicious and the Sirloin steak was cooked perfectly. The service was slow at times but it was busy.

Nice relaxed Sunday afternoon meal here. We both had the BBQ ribs and thought they were great. Service was friendly and the place has a nice feel to it. The list of different beers looked great, though we stuck to soft drinks after a heavy night the night before!

My partner and I, who are slightly difficult foodies, regularly enjoy dining at the Richmond Vault. We love their delicious menu, fun atmosphere and super friendly staff. Recently, however, due to unforeseen circumstances, I was in desperate need of a last minute venue for my birthday party. In less than a week, the staff at the Richmond Vault helped us pull off a successful birthday party for just under 20 people. Along with the manager, the floor manager, and the chef, they cornered off an area of the restaurant downstairs just for us, put together a super delicious and dietary diverse canapé buffet-style menu (at a very reasonable price per head), allowed us to bring in a birthday cake from an outside caterer, were attentive to and served our guests well all evening, managed the open tab seamlessly and professionally... and all of this with friendliness and smiles from A to Z! These guys went the extra mile! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner out in Richmond or for anyone looking for a place to have a small party of any kind. Thank you guys for making my birthday memorable! 🙏🏻❤️🎂🍾🥂

I used to really enjoy this place, but last week's visit after the renovation left me disappointed. The food was just okay, definitely a step down from what it used to be. However, what really stood out was the terrible service. I can honestly say it was the worst I've ever experienced. Our waiter was incredibly rude and did some awkward things that made the whole experience uncomfortable. For instance, while I was trying to show something on my phone to my brother, the waiter abruptly inserted himself into the situation. He started grabbing everything from our table, including personal belongings like my brother's phone, without even saying a word. He just placed everything on the table next to us, presumably to make space for the shared starter we ordered. To make matters worse, the waiter kept staring at us rudely while my brother was opening a product from its box. It felt like he was invading our privacy and being intrusive. After paying, before we had time to leave, the waiter snatched the receipt from our table in a rude manner. When I politely asked if I could keep it, he reluctantly handed it back with a disapproving look and saw us leaving without ssying a word. I'm not sure if this place has changed owners, but it's clear that the staff and food quality have definitely taken a turn for the worse. Based on my experience today, I have no intention of returning, and I would strongly discourage anyone else from dining here.

We walked in with a rather large group including toddlers and were warmly welcomed by the staff. The staff was great and served us promptly, serving the children food first, which was super helpful. The food was great and their local beer offering was delicious. The decoration is beautiful and while it was raining, the whole place was very welcoming and full of light. Highly recommend!

If you want the best meal of your life then this is the spot! My favourite dish is the full rack of ribs 😋 so tender and juicy. The drinks are also amazing and the service and vibes are unmatched.

Found this place by making a wrong turn, what a good mistake. Going down into the cellar area nice and quite, still great lighting. The food, service and drinks where great. We where a large group ordered a variety of dishes and they took care of us, never had to ask for anything.

Good beer, nice setting, live music, looked after my hat when I thought I'd lost it, quality.

The tangerine aperol sour was delicious. The chicken burger was good. They need to do a little work on the “restaurant b” section at the back, it lacks the style and ambiance of the rest of the place (though I did appreciate that the music was quieter)

Popped into this hidden pub on richmond high street,and it didnt disappoint. Had a fusion scotch egg with lebanese spices, and the vault burger which comes with beef pattie and pulled smoked beef, a monster burger . Recommended if ur nearby or visit richmond.

We were absolutely gutted when The Vault had to close due to flooding but finally this gorgeous hideaway in Richmond has reopened and it looks more splendid and cosy than ever! With an array of craft beer available both on tap and in their fridges and apparently some pretty nice cocktails and wine, this place is perfect for date nights, business meetings and nights out with your mates alike. Family friendly during the earlier hours of the day too. Staff are helpful and personable. Tasters of beers are available as are schooners (for me a must when partaking of a sour). Check out their restaurant. Make this cute Richmond local your home from home.

It was great to return to The Vault after quite a long absence. Popped in for a drink on a Saturday evening and it was back to its old busyness and the spruce up they have given the place works well. I was glad to see that a pint of Spaten was reasonably priced at £5.95 for a pint. I used to love the food here and don’t get the chance to peruse the menu, but will really look forward to having the farouj meshwi again as that is their best dish by a mile. Hopefully they’ll have some menus up online soon hence only four stars. Update since new menu appeared: the farouj meshwi is now replaced by a half baby chicken. The previous dish was £16.95 and included chips, roasted veg and a flatbread. Now the dish is £22.50 and then you have to add £1 for chips! This is a £5.55 increase since the refurb for an already expensive dish and before the 12.5% service charge. Sadly this place is a rip off for food now so won’t be bothering, although fine to drink here. It’s a shame they’ve used the closure as an excuse to hike prices to a point I’ve not seen from any other business.

The reasons this has 4 & not 5 stars is the ownership has changed, photos are old (it has been refurbished) & there’s a completely different menu. The food & service were great & they had live music too. Once the admin side is updated I think they will deserve 5 stars
