Used to love coming here, but since the change of ownership you can just feel the difference. Taking away the table service from the river terrace was a big mistake as cause big lines up the stairs during busy periods. Staff also controlled the seating in the river area which made it a more pleasant experience. Now that there is a queue up the stairs the staff have to wrangle their way down the stairs with plates of food, accident waiting to happen. Come on Fullers, sometimes if things aren’t broke…. Don’t fix em

Since being bought by fullers The Swan has become another McPub with a deep fried overly expensive food on the menu. You can see Fullers care by the way that they have let all the previously well kept planters in the riverside garden are go. They were blooming beautiful. But are now an eyesore. Thanks McFullers for destroying a perfect pub.

This pub has recently been taken over by Fullers. The menu is hugely overpriced and the food is woeful. As with most Fullers pubs they squeeze the absolute maximum profit from their menu. Used to love it here. It’s still great place for a very expensive drink by the river, but the food….forget it.

The White Swan is staple, legendary pub of Twickenham. A cosy pub in the winter and a bustling, lively pub in the Summer. Decent taps and wine. Generally always a lovely crowd. I have been coming for the last 35yrs - from back when it was a pub pub, and when the ‘Garden’ flooded you could sit on the tables and staff would wade in with wellies to serve drinks to the stranded. Wonderful times! But now a pub has to do food. And the food at the White Swan is very average… frozen, processed burgers for £15.50 with a handful of barely ‘tripple’ cooked chips?! Come on, now. The Swan leans far too heavily on its constant footfall of locals and visitors alike for its reputation and custom. And it seems happy just do that. Recently an inevitable conglomerate take over has just happened, placing it under the Fuller’s brewery control. The only thing to say to Fullers is; sort out the food and you have a winner.

Sunday lunch at the White Swan. Enjoyed the roast beef traditional Sunday lunch. Veggies had a stuffed pepper and a veggie burger which they enjoyed. Service was very good in full and packed riverside pub. A few desserts like sticky toffee and a Belgian choc slice with veggie cream(?). Might have liked an apple pie or crumble following roast beef but very good, enjoyed by all.

Nice place by the river. I went here for dinner with a few mates. Made a reservation before coming as it does get full inside. In the summer there will be more seats outside. Great old pub with nice vibes. I had the fish and chips which was great. You get real potato chips and a massive bit of fish. My mates said the roast was good too!

An excellent Sunday lunch at The White Swan. Not that many tables, so we'd reserved for 3x in advance, but just a few days before. The weekend before Christnas, so we were pleased to be fitted in. A lovely table right by the bar, immediately friendly service, a drink for me, whilst waiting for the rest of the party. The Sunday roasts were excellent, great pudding as well. My rowing club, affiliated with Chichester Yacht Club participated in the ' round the island ' race as guests of Mathew ( Bell Founder), with the race organised by the very friendly Richmond Boat Club 👍👍. All in all an excellent afternoon that was complimented by wall to wall🌞 & warm & friendly service from the pub's staff team. Having all eyed your pub from afar ( the end of the Great River Race), we were all pleased to have eventually visited you 😊😊👍... until next time..🤩

Hi! We booked our table 2 weeks in advance before that day and they offered the worst table but one in the balcony or the terraza. We asked for a better one and they offered one even more dark and quiet, far from the vistas. Food is mediocre… and scant portions. We ordered one of the main, quinoa + halloumi (17£), and literally were 2 tiny pieces of cheese and a handful quinoa seeds. The location of the venue were the best thing of our visit.

I visited last weekend to be served by a clearly intoxicated staff member, i asked to be served by somebody else as she was slurring her words and was all over the place, to which she replied that was the manager. I was given a recommendation to come and visit this pub, and it was lovely, the food was good, but the service was poor and my interaction with the drunk Scottish manager really ruined my evening.

Weird experience with manager. Went there with my colleagues after work. Friend brought her child in early evening and I ended up bringing my dog too. All before 6:30 pm. We had less than a 1.5 bottle of wine between us (just to show the level of ‘energy’ we may have had.) My friend cracked a joke and admittedly we laughed loudly. Immediately the manager came over to tell us to be quiet. We were shocked and said okay. Afterwards I went over to say that was a bit of a strange reaction to have. She said she had a small pub filled with a lot of people eating. We were also eating. Honestly the strangest interaction I’ve had with a pub manager. We had one moment of ‘shrieking’ (her words) on an early Friday eve with our dog and baby in tow. So tame. She asked me did I want an apology. Thankfully I kept my cool and said we can agree to disagree. Sad because I’ve loved this pub since moving here.

Boasting an enviable view this Grade II Listed building features a small terrace balcony and a “beer garden” lapping the Thames. The building, ambience and location here are memorable. Regarded consistently as one of London’s finest pubs and it would be foolhardy and churlish to challenge this universal sentiment. Essential London.

It was my Birthday and following a recommendation from a family member we visited The White Swan in Twickenham. It indeed has an idyllic setting by the river and we sat outside to enjoy the good weather and pleasant view. We ordered at the bar and the food came very quickly. We both had the same Scampi and Chips, and my first impression was that of disappointment, the plate of food didn’t look that wonderful and it was not very hot. Unfortunately also some of the Scampi was not cooked through properly. After discussion with the Waitress, who was very helpful, she offered us another bowl of Scampi. This was piping hot and an improvement. Sadly I didn’t enjoy my meal and won’t be returning to The White Swan. Yes a lovely setting and the waitress was efficient and friendly, but the pub on this occasion was let down by the poor quality of the food. However I did enjoy the wine. 😊

Came quickly. But SO disappointing. 😔 The menu states that they use Home Cut Chips. And we were served Frech fries🍟, that were overcooked and hard. Left most of them. I was with a guest from overseas, so I was too embarrassed to complain at the time. Also, dogs were allowed in the bar, and customers were vaping inside. Do not recommend.

This is the best greasy spoon in the area. Far exceeding the quality and service of others which in comparison are poor standard. The tea can be a bit snotty but this is to be expected in authentic Bengali restaurants. My favourites are the home cooked lamb and chicken curry with rice and also the authentic jerk chicken with salad and coleslaw. A wide variety of breakfasts served too with good quality ingredients. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. It's a very relaxing and ambient environment. Service is quick. Delivery available too for local businesses or individuals. Definitely the only five star greasy spoon around and competitively priced.
