Great bar & very friendly staff. A real piece of Belfast history open from1865. The recent refurbishment has improved the bar so much and now having regular weekly live singers. Would highly recommend 👏🏻

Great pub right in the heart of the Shankill Road. Friendly staff and customers. Love all the history on the walls. Best pint of Guinness you will ever have.

Had a few pints in here, lots of memories in here from their history. Barmaid is very friendly, and so are the people who I spoke to. Don't get many visitors from Coventry. I will go back next year

A pub, like many in Belfast, that has a particular clientele. Nothing wrong in that, however to enjoy the pub, ensure that you are fully aware.

Without question the most hospitable bar I've been to. Beer was ice cold, folks at the bar were friendly and the bar tenders were more than happy to answer any questions I had about Belfast. If you want to pay normal prices for a pint and have already been played by the tourist traps, go by the Rex

Popped in for a beer whilst working over in Belfast, great atmosphere and made to feel very welcome.. would definitely recommend this place

Stopped off there . For a couple of beers when over from Scotland. Glad I did . Just don't ask about certain decorations across the way . Instead enjoy a beer with fine folk.

If your Catholic stay away from this bar. Myself and my wife went in for a drink and where made feel very uncomfortable because we where from 'the south'. Would have thought they arrived in the 21st century, but obviously not, AVOID!!

Great bar. Very traditional style layout and cheap (but cash only). Was empty when we arrived (last Tuesday early afternoon), but got talking to an extremely friendly, interesting, and knowledgeable local chap, who had popped in for a few. Would highly recommend.

i just called in after the crumlin gaol for a guinness and spent a wonderful evening. i was welcomed warm and friendly and had some very interesting chats and learnt a lot more about the history of ireland and the world itself. i will definitely go there for a guinness again, next time when i ll be in belfast. thanks a lot to mark and the lovely guests for having such a splendid evening!

Cosy bar with great food. A fine range of local draught and bottled , beers and ciders. The menu is wide ranging and very popular with regular customers. The Steak Sizzler is a must.

Was in the bar once I’m from Dublin thought when they heard my accent I’d be told to get out but served me and I had a laugh with a the Barman and a few of the locals once you don’t get into politics in Belfast you should be reasonably safe in a unionist area.good pint of bass too
